Update 3.1.2 will not install on imac

I installed aperture from a disc originally not app store. It's not available via software updates and when I attempt to install the manually downloaded version, it gives me an error saying that I need to have aperture 3.0.2 at a minimum to install the update. I have always updated aperture immediately so obviously thats not the issue. It's almost as if the OS does not think I have it installed. Any help would be much appreciated.

The first thing to confirm is that you have not renamed the program and that it is installed in your "Applications" folder. You must have "~/Applications/Aperture" in order to install an update.
Kirby,
Did you mean to put the tilde in the path? That would indicate the users Application folder, not the system one. For updates and such to work I believe Aperture needs to be in the system application folder, no?

PS CS6 update 13.0.5 will not install. Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7. What is the problem. please?

Are you on a Mac and have a perpetual license (non-subscription) to CS6?   Otherwise the update is not applicable.
If you are indeed on a Mac and do have a perpetual license (non-subscription) to CS6, there are two things to watch out for:
1.— Some necessary file(s) may have been deleted.  If that is the case, using the Adobe Uninstaller go ahead and uninstall Photoshop, then run the CS Cleaner Tool (downloadable from Adobe) and Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility.
2.— Make sure you don't have an expired trial version installed on your disk.  If you do, apply the steps in #1 to said trial install.
    Good luck.

Extension manager has te version number 7.0.0.347. This version generates an error when trying to instal extensions wich can be corrected by installing the latest updates for Extension manager. I have downloaded the update 7.3.2. but it does not install en generates a message saying: Contact youre system administrator. Installing updates is surpressed on this system.
Anyone know where tot download the updates for Extension manager CC that will work?

hello John, thank you for your answer. I am using an admin account though. I even ran the update with administrive priviliges. I also wonder why the app doesn't install the update itself. It's crearly an older version wich now says that it's up to date!?

  • Latest iTunes update Apple Mobile device will not install

Having a lot issues with trying to get AMDS to install after installing the iItune update, as such unless this can be installed itunes will not recognise my iphone.
This problem all started when I installed the latest update, everthing installed except apple mobile device, error message was " service apple mobile device failed to start verify that you have sufficent privileges to start system services. Have tried nurmerous uninstalls and reinstalls still no luck.  Tried the advice on restarting according to apple support but the problem is that AMDS is no where to be seen in the "services" to try and restart it.  Tried individual install using itunessetup.exe through Winrar (applemobiledevice.msi) still no luck, the installer goes throught intially but then it "rolls back" and states an error has occured and it can't install it.
Running out of idea's and from looking at  the threads there seems to be alot of people with the same problem, but no fixes as yet, is there anyone out there that can sort this issue, as it would be much appreciated.

    Hi Nini,
This is a file you need to create. No special file just needs to be there for logging to be more detailed. Also, since HTML5 pack was limited to few users and all of them are subscribed to that forum, they should have already seen the information on it. Anyways, its better to diagnose the problem before suggesting a cure. I have seen multiple times that other users will not give complete/correct information as they might not necessarily remember everything. So, I prefer to see the logs as they never give the wrong information. Just my way of looking at things, not necessarily the best way for everyone but works the best for me.

  • New Update 3.6.17 will not install

I have tried installing this new update numerous times without success.
It give me a error messege that says firefox is running somewhere else.
this is the messege copy and pasted (The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again.)
I have closed all browsers, even ctrl, alt, del, to make sure firefox related processes were not running.
I have also attempted to restart my computer numerous times.
Now everytime I run FF it gives me the update install permission.
If i click yes it goes through the same processs, of saying I already have ff open, and can not install.

  • IMac Graphics FW Update 1.0.2 will not install

Configuration is iMac 7,1 ATI Radeon HD 2600 graphic card and Mac OS X 10.6.1 installed. A subsequent download of iMac Graphics FW Update 1.0.2, and an installation attempt resulted in message that the firmware update was not needed on my computer. In another forum, I read that someone else with the same HW configuration and OS level also could not install this firmware. Is this firmware somehow included with Mac OS X 10.6.1 or does the firmware installer have a bug?

    Ah! The all-important detail!
Then, I have no idea why you can't install it. I suggest downloading a clean copy manually and trying again. If you get the same issue, try a safe mode boot and installing there. Details in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455 and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564

  • HT5730 Lion update 10.8.4 will not install

I have been trying to install Lion update 10.8.4 for several months.  It goes through the process and restarts my computer (Macbook Pro) but when everything is up and running again the App Store updates still shows this update.  I have checked the "about" sections on the programs it should be updating and it has not updated.  What is going on?

    Give this a try:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
After this is completed download and install 10.8.4 Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo).

  • OS X Update 10.9.3 will not install

I have downloaded OS X Update 10.9.3 on my MacBook Pro at least six times in the last 30 days.  However, it never installs.  It just downloads everything, asks for a restart to install, but then never installs.  The Update section of the App Store keeps telling me that I need to download this update, but I just end up in a continuous loop.  How can I solve this?

Before you do as Niel has suggested at least do this:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
I would also recommend you have a current backup just in case.

  • Update 2006-01-10 will not install on my PC

I have a Dell Dimension B110 desktop running Windows XP Home, with a Celeron D processor.
I'm on dial-up connection with AOL. Last night I downloaded the iPod Updater. When I double-clicked on the exe file this morning to install it, it told me it couldn't initialize setup and failed.
Same program ran just fine on my work laptop (a Dell D600), and I was able to update my iPod no problem at work.
Any ideas why the home PC failed? It's new, just got it before the holidays . . .

See Troubleshooting article 93976 (posted at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976).
After reading this article, I realize that the problem was a) I didn't delete the previous file named iPodSetup.exe, as a result of which b) in order to save the new updater, I had to rename it using hyphens and the date, which meant that c) the filename now had weird characters that prevented it from running correctly . . .
In the feedback, I suggested to Apple that on the downloads page somewhere, warn the user to delete all previous updaters (or move them to another folder) and not to rename the updater file when saving it.

  • Update to OS X will not install

It appears that the update to OS X 10.10.3 plus iTunes 12 plus Photo will never finish downloading . I tried components separately, still does not work. Any suggestions?

9.2.3 is not compatible with Mavericks.  You'll need to go to the App Store and download the iPhyoto 9.5 version.  It will be free. Move your current iPhoto version to the Trash bin and try the App Store again.
