IWhen I try to update my iPad on my PC I keep getting a message saying the device connected to the USB is not working. There is an error 6011 I think. I have updated my iPhone, but iPads wont work. Any ideas.I keep getting a message and the iPad has to then be recovered.

You're going to have to come up with a way to pay the balance due. If you don't have another credit card, then buy and activate an iTunes gift card.

I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.
I am starting to believe that Apple is Satan.

Ipod touch and january update help.

hi
i just reinstalled windows xp in my computer and i didnt back up the january updates from my itunes folder. when i synced my ipod after the reinstall it said i had to restore the ipod and after that the jan updates were gone.
someone at the apple store suggested going into itunes store and making sure i could see that i had purchased the jan updates and then scncing the ipod which i did...still didnt work.
can anyone help. the updates no longer exsist on my machine so i was hoping i could download them again without having to pay the $24.99 again or even waiting for the july 11 updates.

If you didn't back up the "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file before you reinstalled your OS, your apps are gone, for now. It's an iTunes Store purchase, just like any music/videos purchased, and if not backed up, it's gone if you lose/wipe your HDD.
Apple has removed the January Upgrade from the iTunes store, so spending the $19.99 to get it back is not even possible.
Your best bet at this point is to wait for the July Upgrade (coming July 11th).

Error message for Adobe update helper

Since upgrading to Lion, I get the following message:
You can't open the application Adobe Reader Updater Helper because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
I migrated from a PPC Imac to an Intel based i5 in February. But, this error just started after Lion upgrade. How do I stop it from continuing to pop up? Help!

I need to finish the last post. I also migrated a PPC G4 Powerbook running 10.5.8 to a new MBP running 10.7, and got the same Adobe Reader updater helper message mentioned at the beginning of the thread. I did the Adobe Reader install, with no change on the error message, and couldn't find the item to either disable or delete. Any way to get rid of this bogus error?

Powershell will not update-help

Update-help doesn't work. Update-help -sourcepath "D:\update help" also doesn't work. I manually downloaded the files and put them in that folder since the live update fails, but even that won't work. Pasting error message:

If you are unable to enter the passcode into your device, you will have to restore the device to circumvent that passcode.
Is the music purchased from iTunes? If it is you can contact iTunes support and ask them to allow you to re-download the music that you purchased from iTunes.
Also, do you sync the device regularly? When syncing an iPod Touch/iPhone a backup file is made. That backup file doesn't contain your music but it does contain your address book, application data, pictures, notes, etc. After restoring your device, you can try restoring from the last backup that was made of your device so you will not have to start over completely from scratch.

I have the same problem, but I'm on a mac 10.9. I have 2 folders inside the Adobe Patch folder inside the Adobe folder. The items have a bunch of letters and numbers.
I've attempted 2 downloads, each going through almost the whole process and stopping about 90% saying unable to install, fix the problems listed below (there was an error downloading this update, please quit and try again later). When I click on the consumer support for further assistance, it takes me to an Adobe page that says “This serial number is not for a qualifying product. Please try another” . I have CS4 design premium, CS5 design standard, and Acrobat Professional installed.

My updated help file only opens the TOC/Index/Search

I have to update an old project that uses WinHelp, so I installed RH X5 on an old XP machine. The original help file always opened in a 2-pane window with the ToC on the left and the default topic on the right. My "updated" help file only opens the ToC/Index/Search screen in a single pane. How do I get the 2-pane window to appear?

I am able to get this work if I use "http". Error message clearly says that it only expects http. But in the Microsoft help topic for Update-Help cmdlet, it is mentioned that cmdlet works for both http and https both.

It seems the certificate issue.
Please access HelpInfoURI =
https://10.65.182.141/dev_releases/modulename/onlinehelp with https header to see if your computer could access that.
If it doesn't work, add it to your trusted site and download to see if there is related certification on that website to download and install it to trusted root certificate for test.

To update
your iPhone:
Be sure you have iTunes 10.7 (11 will be released soon)
Plug in your iPhone
Go to the iPhone summary screen
Hit "update"
If the update fails
Go on your search engine and type "iPhone 3GS firmware GSM" or "iPhone 3GS firmware CDMA" and download the latest firmware from there.
Place the downloaded firmware on your desktop or in your downloads page
Go back to the summary page
Hold Shift and click update
Find the firmware in your saved location
A question will pop up asking if you want to install the firmware

I reset modem and router. Still have the same issue. I have a laptop connected to the network as well as a PS3. Both are working great. Did a Speedtest app test on iphone. With 3g it was working good. When i switched to wifi, it was trying to get the ping test accomplished, and could not. it was stuck in the ping test at 0% for a long time and never progress.
