UPDATED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Instant Ink billing question

Just thought I'd update this and let ya all know how wonderful HP customer service is! Well, it's 12 days later and I;m STILL waiting to get this resolved! Guess what? It's just a matter of giving me an additional 50 pages that they billed me for or refunding the two dollar overcharge!
Would you believe that I've talked to no less than 4 people on the phone, I've had to email screen shots (which prove I'm right, by the way) ALL OVER A FREAKING TWO DOLLARS! This is seriously EFFED UP folks! As soon as I get this resolved (of course saying soon and resolved in the same sentence when refering to HP Service is just plain ole funny) I plan to cancel my sub and run as fast as I can from HP service and products.
I really need a new computer and have decided that it WILL NOT be an HP now. THEY'VE LOST A CUSTOMER OVER $2.00!!!!!!! This lack of CS IS CRAZY!!!!!
Just wondering who to contact about a billing error for the Instant Ink program. I changed the plan before the billing cycle and was charged for the 100 page plan again, but my page history is showing the 50 page plan.
I can not find a contact number for billing issues ANYWHERE and the online chat is not available.
Am I forced to dispute the charge with my bank and cancel the Instant Ink sub just to get some help?
And yes, I'm pissed off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi,
    Please check the following answer:
Can I cancel or change my plan anytime?
Yes. There is no obligation or commitment beyond your first month. You may cancel your service or change plans at any time without penalty. To change your plan or cancel your service,
    sign in at hpinstantink.com.
Expand the My Plan section and
click Edit, next to HP Instant Ink Plan.
You can choose to make a plan upgrade effective immediately and retroactively apply to the current billing cycle, or have the upgrade take effect the first day of the next billing cycle.
Plan downgrade changes and cancellation are effective the first day of the next billing cycle. For more details, see the HP Instant Ink Terms of Service.

  • Printer says it needs to connect to update HP instant ink status

My HP 8610 just started complaining that it needs to connect to update HP instant ink status.  When I try to have it connect, it says there is no internet connection.
However, I have solid connection light, I can get the network info from the printer just fine, I can even print stuff from apps on the printer.  I just can't print anything from my PC.
I am still using the cartridges that came with the printer.

I've been having the same problem. HP - How about letting us know that you're aware of this problem and when it will be fixed.
    Thanks

  • How do I turn of the "Connect printer to update HP Instant Ink status" message?

I initially signed up for the HP Connected program but had to discontinue when I lost my internet connection. The Wi-Fi still works. I replaced my Instant Ink cartridges with the appropriate new non-Instant Ink HP ink cartriges. The printer works, but before each job prints I have to walk over to the printer the touch screen and depress the "OK" button to remove a warning message which state: "Connect printer to update HP Instant Ink status." How do I turn off this message so that I can print without having to respond each and every time? In addition to replacing the original Instant Ink cartridges, I have done "hard" printer restarts (with off and on switch),  tried restoring the factory settings via the touch screen system settings, turned off the internet connectivity and turned off all the Alert Settings in the HP Utility. Help!

Hello , Welcome to the HP Forums, and thanks so much for posting!  I'd like to help you with the message you are getting on your HP officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One printer to connect to the Instant Ink server.  What it sounds like, is that there have been pages printed since the printer last connected to the HP Instant Ink server. If you cancelled your account AFTER the printer's last connection to the internet, the printer would have no idea that the account has been cancelled. I'd recommend contacting our Cloud Services support at 1-855-785-2777 for further assistance. Hope this helps!

  • Re: Printer says it needs to connect to update HP instant ink status

I'm having the same problem.  It will print from the computer but only after I press the ok button on the printer (mine is an Envy 4500).  When I look online at my intant ink status it can't connect to the printer and hasn't registered any prints I've done over the last couple of days.
I wonder if this is a problem at the HP end, rather than with our printers.

  • Signing up and getting started with HP INSTANT INK

Signing up and getting started with HP Instant Ink
Note: your printer must be connected to the Internet through a wireless connection.
How does HP make sure you’ll always have ink? Your printer uses the Internet to let us know when to send more ink. Here’s how you can get all the ink you need, delivered to your door.
    Purchase an eligible printer.
Enroll in a plan based on the number of pages you print.
Ink, shipping, and cartridge recycling are included.
No annual fee—Change or cancel your plan anytime.3
We’ll mail special HP Instant Ink cartridges to you.
Our cartridges have more ink than standard HP ink cartridges, so you’ll replace them less often.
Billing and service start after you insert your first HP Instant Ink cartridge.
Your printer will tell us when to send ink.
Your service is not based on how many cartridges you use, so print as many high quality photos as you like.
You’ll always have ink before you need it.

When you enroll in an HP Instant Ink plan, you pay a monthly fee to print a defined number of pages per month. The plans are based on the number of pages that you print, not on how many ink cartridges you use. Your monthly fee pays for ink, shipping, and recycling. If you do not print all of your plan pages in a month, you can roll over up to the number of pages per month in your plan. If you print more pages, there is an additional charge. Ink is included — the plans are based on your usage so you pay for the pages you print, not the ink cartridges HP sends you. A printed page counts the same whether it is black and white, a color document, or a photo. Shipping is included.
What are customers saying about HP Instant Ink?

  • Instant Ink suspends printing

My credit card company recently changed my credit card due to a potential compromise at a business I had used.  HP's processing for my Instant Ink account failed as a result and my account was suspended.  I updated my billing information over the weekend, but am still awaiting HP's processing and verification of the change.
Since my ink cartridges came as a result of the InstantInk program, my printing with InstantInk cartridges has been suspended as well.  I can not print until I either change the cartridges to non-InstantInk cartridges or HP processes my billing change.  Apparently they only do this once in a 24 hour period.
In this day of instant or nearly instant transaction processing (and InstantInk cartridges), this seems like a poor business practice for two reasons.  Firstly, the billing change shouldn't take 24 hours to process.  Secondly, the cartridges in my printer were sent during a period when payments could be processed and are therefore already paid for (HP should have transaction records that would confirm this).  Suspension of my account should only prevent new cartridges from being sent, not prevent those for which payment has already been received from not working.
I also found that print jobs encountering the "unspecified problem" error that indicated I should check the InstantInk web site did not revert to a hold or paused status after encountering the error and were lost.

I just sent you a private message. Please check your inbox and reply so I can help address your billing issue.

  • Project Billing Question

    Hi All,
I have couple of Project billing questions. Hope you can help
1)A wrong customer was attached to project billing agreement, funding and base line also completed for the customer.
Now we realized that its wrong customer and want to change it to correct customer.
What are the options we have here?
Can we delete or end date the billing agreement?
will the funding be release from the wrong customner after deleting or end dating the billing agreement?
    2) Wrong customer attached to a project..agreements,funding,baselining are NOT done.
How can we delete this customer and add the correct customer?
The option to change the customer is grayed out.
    Appreciate if you can help.
    Thanks

    Hi
On your first question you said the agreement was created for wrong customer. Since you already baselined the funding, I assume you have that customer linked to the project.
You can go the Agreement form and  enter a negative funding line allocated to the same project. The total allocated amount will be zero. The agreement is now not allocated and free to be allocated to another project. If it is a wrong agreement you may update the agreement amount to zero.  Now create a new agreement for the right customer.
The open issue is with the project. You have a wrong customer associated with that project. However, system will not allow you to remove the customer - project record.  Solution depends on the way the project was setup. Did you enable customer at top task? if so, end date the top task and create an alternative top task with the right customer.
If the project has been set with a single customer you better close the project and start a new one.
However, if you need an alternative solution, I can suggest a custom method. Go to Help > ..> Examine and change the existing customer of the project to zero contribution.
Now you will be able to add the right customer to the project and have 100% contribution on it.

  • What is the difference between these two instant ink printers?

Looking to get one of the HP instant ink printers from Best Buy. Either the Envy 4500 or the Envy 5530. There is a $20 diference and I did a side-by-side comparison of them on the Best Buy site, but the only difference I can notice is the 5530 seems to have more memory than the 4500 (128MB vs 32MB).
Print speeds and resolutions seem to be the same. The cheaper one (4500) also seems to be able to do two-sided printing & reduction/enlargement (which I would have thought to be on the more expensive mode). So are there any other real differences between these two or have I pretty much covered them all?

HI - great question, you identified a few of the differences.  Some additional differences are:
4500 has a monochome display that is not touch enabled (you have to use scroll buttons on the side of the screen)
5300 has a touch enabled color display
Both printers can do duplexing (printing on both sides) and both have wireless.
We are excited about Instant Ink  and hope you enjoy the service & whichever printer you chose!

  • Hp instant ink program for hp envy 4501

what if i bought new ink before i got my first hp instant ink in the mail?  Will i get charged prior to the 30 days if i replace the original ink for the savings program one?

Hi there, billing doens't start until 30 days after you install one of the Instant Ink cartridges posted to you by HP. If you are currently using the cartridges you purchased and have enrolled in the Instant Ink program, you're billing period won't start until you replace one of those cartridges with one of those sent to you under the Instant Ink program.
    Best.

  • Privacy; TOS for Instant Ink and HP connected

I just signed up to HP Connected, then started to sign up for Instant Ink.  The 4-page TOS document really requires a lawyer's skill to understand what part of my life I would be signing over to HP.  Why does HP need to track the details of what is printed?  This is an unacceptable invasion of my privacy.  I have printed the document.  I intend to have a lawyer look it over so I can confirm my understanding.  Then I will give it to the sales persons in the store where I bought my printer so they can become informed about the program.  They were woefully ignorant, as was I.
Question: Why do you need the data?

I have decided that HP's reach into my privacy is too invasive.  I want to cancel my hp connected account and ensure that all the personal information I entered on creating that account is purged.  How can I do  that?  After having done that how can I be assured that the information is in fact purged?

    Hello schrec,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see you have some questions regarding Instant Ink, I would like to do my best to answer them for you. You will get separate notifications for each cartridge.
Once you install the first Instant Ink cartridges, the account is now active. There fore, it is best to install both inks into the printer. To store your opened cartridges, this guide should proved the best means of doing so.

  • Instant ink problem cannot print

Instant Ink Problem cannot print is the error I'm getting with my officejet 4630. It was working fine until now. I have enrolled in the instant ink program. My problem now is somehow my printer is not showing up on my account. it tells me to add a device. Fine, but when I try to add it wants a claim code which I have already used so there is no claim code to print. I couldn't print it anyways for the error " instant ink problem cannot print shows up. How do I add a device now???

    Hi Gertiee,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I see that you are unable to print using your HP printer.
Try removing and re-enabling Web Services from your printer’s control panel. Check your printer’s control panel for the Setup or Web icon, and then follow the appropriate instructions to enable Web Services. The steps to remove/enable Web Services vary by HP printer model. For your model:
HP Officejet Removing Web Services:  Use Setup > Web Services Setup > Restore Factory Settings to remove Web Services from the printer.
Then re-enable web services on your printer.  If the web services info sheet does not automatically print within a few minutes of re-enabling web services, web services has not been fully enabled on your printer.   You may need to wait and remove and re-enable web services again in few hours to allow the issues affecting your printer’s communication with the cloud servers to clear up.  Until a web services info sheet prints out your web services registration is not complete.   Complete the steps below while your printer is connected to the Internet.
    Officejet Enable Web Services:
On the printer control panel, touch the Apps icon, touchYes to enable Web Services, touch Yes to Accept Terms of Service, and then touch Yes again for automatic firmware updates. An information sheet prints that has your printer claim code.
On the printer control panel, press theePrint  button or icon to open the Web Services
Either select Yes to enable Web Services, select Yes again for automatic updates, and then press the ePrint button again. Or, select Enable Web Services , and then select OK . An information sheet prints that has your printer claim code.
On the printer control panel, touchSetup, and then touch Web Services.
Select Enable Web Services , and then select OK . An information sheet prints that has your printer claim code.
If it continues to not print, see the Web Services connectivity troubleshooting here.
