IPhone 4 and Zagg Shield... anyone having this problem?
I think there might be a problem with some of the screen protectors on the new iPhone. Let me first say that I used Zagg on my old 3GS and 3G and had no problems and loved them. However, this time it is a little different.
I bought my sheild and I installed it flawlessly. Not a bubble to be seen and it fit great. I let it cure for 24 hours before using RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. You know how tough that was? But I wanted them on there perfectly and they were. Key word being "were".
The problem seems to be that the new ultra-slick glass/coating on the iPhone 4 isn't allowing the shield to cling properly to the phone. For example, when I would set it on my granite counter top the phone literally wanted to stick to the counter top. Almost like sticky suction. Maybe due to the shape of the back of the old 3GS, it ever did this as it wasn't laying perfectly flat like th new phone. In any event, the back has held up so far.
However the front hasn't. I don't know if there an extra coating on the front (I believe I read there was) but it seems even more slick than the back. On a recent outing with my wife, she needed my credit card (don't they always). When she gave it back to me, I slipped it into the front pocket of which I was carrying my iPhone 4. When I took out my phone a little while later the credit card was magnetic side down on the phone screen in perfect orientation to the screen and stuck. When I went to pull the credit card off the whole Zagg shield just started peeling right off. Standing in a parking lot there was no way to get the screen back down at this point and I had to remove it from the front. The back is still on.
I never had this problem on my 3G, my 3GS, my daughters iPod or my wifes Blackberry. A couple of other times prior to the credit card incident, I notice that along the edge in a few places on the front, it looked like the shield wanted to peel up. A little bubble where there wasn't before, an edge not quite sticking. I was able to press those out. But in the end, I think the new screen could be a problem for a lot of people at least with this shield.

Not to be contrary but why do you believe it is not Zagg's fault. Apple isn't required to make a glass that the Zagg works with. Zagg needs to make their shield work with the new iPhone 4. Obviously they did not properly test it. There are many good shields using a silicon layer which work perfectly.

I never said Apple was required to do anything. Zagg should have done more testing as you state. But even the best make mistakes like the antenna issue and yellow pictures some are taking with the less than perfect i4. My point, even Apple could test better so I'm willing to cut Zagg a little slack. One of my follow ups clearly states my inquiry as to if Zagg could make their shield more tacky to adhere better to the screen.
Can you provide us some names of the shields your referring too. I'd certainly like to look into them.

My iPhoto e-mail has been working great;UNTIL I upgraded to Lion. Now,I cannot e-mail directly from iPhoto. I prefer to e-mail photos from iPhoto,not Mail. I sure appreciate anyone's help. Thanks
1 - unless you tell us more then anything would be a wild guess - what happens? what error messages do you get?
and why would you use iPhoto rather than Mail anyway - mail has more templates, has a sent mail box, uses you address book lists and lets you control the message format so PC users can receive photos - and works for everyone

I just updated the software on my iphone 4 and prior to updating I could double click and start the camera without logging in, now I can't. How do I fix?
Nothing to fix...things have changed...slide the camera icon up now..no more double tap.

I tried to update the software for my iPhone 4S, 16 GB to the most recent version (8.1?). I don't know what I was updating from, because I can't access that, but it was whatever was installed on it (I got it about a year ago, so probably 6.something).
It froze, and now won't turn off, or on, or sync with my macbook plus, which is what I have always sync'd it to. (I backed it up and sync'd it right before I tried to update the software.)
Since it originally froze almost 3 hours ago, it shows a white screen with the apple on it and a line underneath. When I try to sync with my laptop, it says it needs me to enter a passcode on the phone, which I can't enter because the screen is frozen. So I'm unable to access the iPhone portion of iTunes.
I have tried to turn it off, with no luck. I have tried rebooting my laptop and syncing, but I still get the same result.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I really wanted to wait to update the software, but I was having internet connectivity issues for the past 3 weeks, and Sprint suggested updating the phone's software.

I tried to update the software of my iphone 3gs while charging with my Macbook Pro. While the phone was restarting after installation, in the setting up my phone menu, it stops midway with a message in itunes on the laptop that there is no simcard.
Then put a SIM in. You cannot activate an iPhone without a compatible Sim.
If your iPhone was hacked/jailbroken the update restore the lock. -

That's exactly right. And since you have a MacBook Air (as I do), that means the synching should occur just fine (if you've set it up right in iTunes). In other words, once you actually do the update, the iTunes on your MacBook Air will re-sync your photos back to your iPhone.
Basically, the process is that your iPhone gets backed up, wiped clean, then the new iOS version gets installed, then the backup gets restored. That will restore everything in the article above, which does not include your photos. But the sync process that happens after the iOS installation would restore your photos from iPhoto given you've set it up that way in iTunes.
When you have your iPhone plugged into iTunes, while looking at the iPhone's summary page, click "Photos" on the right side of iTunes to see how you have your sync set up.
Regardless, it sounds like you'll be fine! Your photos will wind up in iPhoto once you place them there. They will be safe there. -
I try to update the software of an Iphone or Ipad with the Itunes of the MacBook Pro. It downloads the software but at the end always the comment shows up that the download failed and i should try again. Any ideas, I already updated the iTunes software.
