Updater in latest version of Reader

Since installing the most recent update to Reader (10.1.9.22) on Windows 7 there has been a problem. The updater seems to run constantly in the background on my computer using large amounts of resources on the computer. This is all the time, evne when Reader is not being used. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi MtMan,
Launch Adobe Reader and go to Edit--> Preferences Under categories visit Updater.
Under Updater choose Don't download and install updates Automatically. Save the change by clicking on ok restart the machine. Then turn the update option back on and restart your machine again.
Do you have any other Adobe product try launch and see if there any updates available for them. Let me know.
Regards,
Ajlan Huda.
