Updating a Muse site live and hosted in BC

Isn't this supposed to be automatic? Changes done to the metadata are not updating for me.

Yes, you need to publish again after making any changes. however, when you publish again then you can select if you want to publish all the files or only modified files.
When you click on Publish, it should pick up your Site name and URL automatically and under option on the Publish popup you get a Upload drop down from where you can select either "Only modified files" or "All files".
If you select only modified files there, it should only upload the files in which you made the edits.
Note : If you make some changes on the Master page then it uploads all the files on which that Master page is applied. Reason being after making changes in Master page, all those pages also get updated.
Hope this helps.

Sachin

  • Parallax scrolling problem since updating to Muse 7.1 and republishing my site

    Hi.
I recently updated my Muse application to Version 7.1, made a few text changes to my site and republished my site, since I did this the following happens:
The parallax scrolling feature i have on my template moves the background images slowly to the right as you scroll for top to bottom.
I don't want it to do this, is this a bug in the 7.1 build of Muse of is there something I can do to stop this happening?
Also, the first background image you see when you land on the site seems to have repositioned itself within the frame to a different part of the image when published, see here the actual Muse document page, which is how it should look:
To see how it now looks 'live' see the link below...
    www.jumatwo.com
any help resolving this would be much appeciated.
    Thank You.

We had this where I work on ~200 machines.
We are still going around manually clicking the sharing>remote management tickboxes off and on as this fixes it.
It seems the GUI is not reflecting what is behind the scenes.

  • I did a site in Adobe Muse 4. Now i updated to Muse CC trial and my website won't work.

"This Adobe Muse site file requires a newer version of Adobe Muse. Please update to the latest version."

What does the version number say in the 'About Muse' dialog?

  • Form created in Muse now live and not working

I would greatly appreciate some assistance (and fast as my project is live and not functioning).  Basically, I created and edited a nice website with a form in Muse, then published to BC to chop it into code, then Ftp'd the files to myself and then over to the client's servers.  Everything looks great, except the form I added is not functioning.  Muse chat support has told me:
Surjeet: It is automatically integrate with BC when published on BC
Surjeet: But if you want to host it on other servers then you have to make some changes on the onclick of the form.
However, he couldn't tell me what changes need to be made because
Surjeet: Unfortunately, HTML / CSS / JavaScript and Site implementation related issues are outside the scope of our support boundaries.
    Then he tell me that
Surjeet: The webForm will be functionable only when published on BC.
AAACK!  I really need help.  Adobe shouldn't allow you to add a form if it is not going to work on client servers -  they are touting this product as for designers with no tech knowledge.
Can anyone please please tell me what code or ? on the form needs to be changed, added, deleted, etc. to get it to function on my client's server?  Project is due today!
    Thank you in advance!

    Cant help without a link.
You may have modified the form to knock off severl things to make it work correctly.

  • Taking a Muse site live with Business Catalyst

I have a complete Student and Teacher creative cloud subscription through my school (I am a student). And I have designed a website in Muse. I would like to take it live via Business Catalyst, but when I click "Launch Site," I get a window that says, "To launch this site you should upgrade to a paid Adobe Creative Cloud Membership which includes hosting for 5 sites with Adobe Business Catalyst." Then it directs me to the purchase page. But I already have a cloud membership. What's happening? Can anyone help me out?

    Hi,
Creative cloud individual subscription allow you to host 5 free sites with Business catalyst. As you are using Student edition, your product does not qualify for free sites. To push your site live, you must pay for it.
Do let me know if you have any question.

  • Trouble uploading a Muse site to FTP Host

Whenever I try to upload my website made with Adobe Muse to an FTP host I always get the error message:
Connection to PHP file failed. Unable to check if this web server supports PHP needed by Muse forms. Be sure the domain name entered in the FTP upload dialog is correct.
I'm using Godaddy/Cpanel to launch my website but I can't figure out how to launch it. I already bought/have the domain name and I already went through business catalyst. When I type in the URL for the website it just brings me to an error page with a link to my cpanel log in. Do you think this is something wrong with Cpanel because that is what I'm using to launch the site? Or is Cpanel not compatible with Muse?
    Any information helps
    Thanks

The message suggests that you are trying to use the web forms widget in Adobe Muse and it seems that your hosting service provider does not support PHP or PHP mail service.
Please refer to the document : http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3581 and contact your hosting service provider regarding this.

  • Updated to Muse CC 2014 and lost all my "Upload to FTP Host" settings. What gives?

Is there a way to preserve the "Upload to FTP Host" settings as we upgrade from version to version? This is a problem from a workflow [and patience!] perspective.

I have the same issue and same error in Muse 2014.2. I can ftp with FileZilla to the same account and I have tried just about every possible ftp setting. I host at GoDaddy. I really need to get this working so that I can use in browser editing with my client. Please help.
I continually get the error, "Could not sign you in..." despite the login being valid. If you keep hitting resume it will eventually, after many clicks, succeed.
I just got off the phone with GoDaddy. They insist that the issue is with Muse after confirming that ftp works fine with other clients, which it does. Their only suggestion was to perhaps adjust a timeout in Muse.
The old hotfix that is now a dead link, would that be helpful?
I'm stuck. My client wants in browser editing, so I need ftp in Muse for that to work. GoDaddy has been a good hosting provider despite their indifference in this case. I am trying to escalate this within GoDaddy, but I won't hold my breath. Honestly, it has to be something specific to Muse or the other ftp clients wouldn't work. I can use FileZilla or ForkLift, but that isn't a solution that gets me in browser editing. It just points the problem at Muse.
    Any ideas?

  • Update a Muse site, without uploading the whole site

So I'm about to create a site for a client that will be maintained by me, however, I'm worried about updating it. With the last few sites, which have only had about 5-7 pages, I've simply made the changes in Muse, export the whole site to HTML and upload it to the web, the whole site, everytime. With this new site, there will be a lot of pages and I really don't want to have to export and upload the whole site, everytime I make a change.
Is there an easy way to do this?
Currently, the client hosts their own site via GoDaddy, so I just log in via FTP and put the files there when I'm done editing.

    Hello,
You can use the File -> Upload to FTP host option in Muse to upload your changes directly from Muse to your host (Godaddy).
When you use that option, you also have the choice to either choose to upload the whole site, or only the modified pages. However, if the modifications were made to a master page, then all the pages to which that master is applied, will be uploaded again. Check a related post here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5726029#5726029
    Hope this helps.

  • Pushed my site live and my links don't work

I used Godaddy to register my domain. I am also using their DNS settings.
Created the site in Muse and previewed everything before I published... everything worked fine.
However, once I published the site and changed my settings upon prompt in Business Catalyst, only the homepage loads and my links don;t work.
I am only linking to one other page.
I pointed my host name on GoDaddy to 192.150.2.140
I have deleted my site 3 times now and republished. Set my links to lowercase etc.
    the site domain is www.taxiadzbyg.com
Any help is much appreciated! I've read so many things, I am completely confused now as of where to start.
    Thanks everyone.

    Hi,
I have checked the settings, they all look good to me. Also, I have checked the hyperlinks and they were working too.

  • I updated the Muse CC App and it was subsequently deleted from my computer. Aside from this, I'm noticing that Muse crashes when performing very basic tasks. Will this be improved?

    HAS ANYBODY ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS?

There was a bug related to the font submenus that many people encountered. (It could result in a crash up to a few seconds after having used the font menu.)
An update went live yesterday that addresses it, and a number of other issues. Please go to the Creative Cloud Desktop App and download the update. Thanks.

I need to clarify how I can use adobe as a host for my site for free. I see where business catalyst is supposed to be temporary as well as it is recommended to use as the better alternative to launch my muse site. But then I have to use the long extension of "businesscatalyst" in addition to the domain name I'd prefer. How exactly can I take it live? do I have to use a third party hosting?

    Hi,
Once you are done with your sitet, Click on Publish in Muse, select New Site from the drop down, It will ask you a name for your site, which will be used for  site url, you will get a url like mysite.businesscatalyst.com, then go to the browser and login to the admin panel, mysite.businesscatalyst.com/admin and on Dashboard, click Launch site. This will push your site live, and you can then add your custom domain.
Also make sure that you have completed all these actions mentioned here
    User manual
Do let me know if you have any question.

  • Publishing an Adobe Muse site to a third party hosting provider?

    Hi Guys,
I'm trying to find instructions as to how to go about publishing my completed Adobe Muse site which is hosted with a third party hosting company, there are videos for publishing to business catalyst alright.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks
    Have a nice Saturday :-)

I am having a problem trying to FTP my site created in Muse, too. I am using "Upload to FTP host" (Found under File) and after several tries I am still getting a different error message each time: "Error uploading (a certain file which happens to be a jpg this time!). Click Resume to try again. If this problem persists, try again later.
    [426 Failure reading network stream.]."
I tried again and again and again. So I called the host company and I checked to see if am using all the correct settings that they have. They verified that I had the proper settings.
    Still no success.
