Updating data from PSA to CUBE

Hi Experts,
i got a mismatch between R/3 and BW reports, one document number value has not updated in PSA and INFOCUBE, that's why it is showing wrong value in BW report, i know which value and in which field it has missed.
I want to enter that field value in PSA and again i want to load the data from PSA to CUBE.
is it possible or not,
shell i do like this.

It is very much possible In PSA.
But it is not the best way to do.
Maintain that in PSA and do a delta load to the cube.

Try to simulate the process.That can give you exact error location.
It seems like while updating few records may be no in the format of the field in which it is updated.

Updating data from PSA to Data Target

Hi,
I just want to update data from PSA to data target.
There is a process chain running daily it will updating Master Data in to 0Vendor object. This process chain is updating only upto PSA not the data target. I just want to update from PSA to data target.
There is a update rule for 0Vendor but itu2019s not active at the movement and also it is not properly mapped with the 0Vendor.
Is there any other method which I can update data from PSA to Data target with in the same process chain.

If this is BW 3.5, change the infopackage setting to load to data target as well.
This is a other w ay than using the update from infopackage.
if this is 7.0, Use the DTP to load from PSA(datasource) to Target.

Issue loading data from PSA to Cube

Hi Gurus:
I have a strange issue. My DELTA load to ODS from R/3 come thru fine. However, the load fails while moving
from ODS to the cube. The error is in 'Fiscal Year/Period'. It is a straight 1:1 map in update rules. If I bring the
data just to PSA there is no error. But when the data moves from PSA to cube, one record in each of the 2
packages the valiue of Fiscal Year/Period changes from "012/2009" to "015/2009".
Any idea why this might be happeing and suggestions on How can I move this data to cube?

Are you using or copying Busines Content in your start routines?
In the SD data extractors, the Fiscal Year/Period was provided WITHOUT a Fiscal Variant.
In the Start Routine, the Fiscal Variant was hard coded to "K4" (I think).
If you are using the code and a Fiscal Calendar other than the Hard coded one, you might get this type of error.
If so, consider setting the Fiscal Variant as a constant in the update rules.

How to update data from PSA to target in BI 7.0

Hi all,
can you pls tell me the procedure/process to load data from PSA to data target. We got a load failure while activating the data in DSO.We made necessary changes to the incorrect data in PSA and we saved. When i run the DTP again it gives me 0 records. Is there any option like in 3.5 where we can select the PSA right click.....schedule the update/start the update immediate. or any other process which solves my problem.

A new object concept is available for the ETL process as sap Net Weaver 2004. To implement the EDW layer paradigm, sap has changed the concept of the ETL data flow and process design.
    The most important innovations in the modified object concept are as followes.
1. When a Datasource is activated, a PSA table is generated in the inbound laywr of the BI so that data
   can already be loaded.
2 The infopackage is only used to load the data from the source system into PSA.
3 This is followed by the data transfer proccess (DTP) step to transfer data within the BI from one
   persistent object to another by using transformation and filters,
4 The definition for which data targets the data from the Datasource is to be updated into occurs in
   transformations. this is also where fields of Datasource are assigned to infoObjects of the target
   objects in bi.

How to load data from PSA to CUBE & DSO at a time using DTP in BI 7 ?

I am new to BI 7 . How to load the data at same time to DSO & INFO CUBE using DTP.
Please provide me steps to load & plz specify which update mode I have to use ( FULL OR DELTA ) which one is best.

Below are the basic steps which we follow in any BI 2004S system:
1)Create datasource. Here u can set/check the Soucre System fields.
2)Create Transformation for that datasource. (no more update rules/transfer rules)
2.1) While creating transformation for DS it will ask you for data target name, so just assign where u want to update ur data.
DataSource -> Transformation -> Data Target
Now if you want to load data into data target from Source System Datasource:
1) Create infopackage for that data source. If you are creating infopackage for new datasources, it will only allow you update upto PSA, all other options u can see as disabled.
2)Now Create DTP (Data Transfer Process) for that data source.
3) NOw schdule the Infopackage, once the data is loaded to PSA, you can execute your DTP which will load data to data target.
If you are loading data from one one data target to other, no need to use PSA, you can directly execute DTP in that case.
Data Source -> Transformation (IP/DTP) -> Data Target1 -> DTP ->Data Target 2

Cannot update data from DSO to Cube with further update in process chain

Hi Guys,
              This is the message am getting when am trying to update to cube by process further update with process chain.Process fails at further update with the following below message.
However at DSO level i can see the data mart status but no request at cube level.
Error Message:
Cannot update request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR in data target
    Message no. RSM1523
Diagnosis
    System checks show that request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR cannot be
    updated to a data target.
    The system checked whether
    o   request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR is already in the data target
    o   the data target has active update rules for the InfoSource
    o   the data target was selected for updating
    o   locks exist
    o   for a DataStore object as a data target, that the request was
        updated in the correct order, if the DataStore object stipulates
When i check the monitor screen under status tab it says "A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage" and under details tab "Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : Data packet not yet processed "

It seems you used infopack when you select update data inot datatarget then system prompts you a infopack.That's the infopack which is generated by system being used in process chain variant to update data into datatarget.
Create new infopack/ DTP manually then use that infoapck/DTP on the process chain variant then try.

Error in updating data from ODS to CUBE.

Hi,
I am tryin to load data manually from ODS to CUBE in NW2004s.
This is a flat file load from the datasource to the ODS and then from the ODS to the CUBE.
In the CUBE, I am trying to populate fields by using the ODS fields.
For eg.
In the ODS, a CHAR Infoobject has the data in the timestamp format(i.e. mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm ). I need to split this data and assign them to the two individual DATE and TIME Infoobject in the CUBE.
For this, I have done the coding in the Transfer Structure in the Rule Group.
The time field is gettin populated , but the date field is not getting populated.
I get an error as Eg:
Value '04052007' for CHAR 0DATE is not plausible
Due to this, the corresponding records is not getting displayed
Also, the records where the time id displayed, the date is not getting displayed inspite of the date being correct.
Please help me with a solution for this.

SAP accepts the date format in YYYYMMDD, so in the routine where you have concatenate the day month year...just do it in reverse order.....

Updating data from ODS to Cube

Hi Gurus,
Data is getting poppulated in ODS but when the data is being loaded to the cube there is an error which says error when generating the Update Program..
So can anyone help to solve the above problem.. its urgent...

Updation of data from ods to cube

hi all,
I have 8 activated request in ODS . now I want to load data into a cube
from this ods .
is it possible to update request one by one so that I have same no. of request
in cube as in ods?

If you want to do like that, you have to create an infopack which updates data from ODS to cube.....Go to datamart ODS in your Infosouces...create an infopack....and you can giv request id in selection and do one by one

Failed loading from PSA into Cube

Hello,
I tried to load data from flat file into a cube. I defined the processing as PSA only in Infopackage, the loading was OK, but when I loaded data from PSA to cube, it failed. I checked the PSA, the Status indicator was red, this record is the first record in flat file. The detail error message as follow:
TYPE: Red
Message: Value "01.02.20" of characteristic 0Date is not a number with spaces
ID: BRAIN
NO.: 19
LTxt:
One record in flat file as this:
M-01;GP-01;1000;01.01.2006;2006;K4;20
the corresponded infoobjects:
Material;material group;customer;calend day;fiscal year;fiscal year variant;quantity
I was confused much on the error message, I checked flat file, infosource, transfer and update rules,cube and so on. Could you please help me to solve the problem? thanks advaned!

0DATE has to be available in internal date fomat to book into the infocube. you have the following options:
-Change the 0DATE-column in your flatfile to the format YYYYMMDD.
-In the transfer structure, choose a conversion routine to convert the external date format to internal date format.

Can we update data from one cube to another cube in BW 3.5. i tried it, I created the connection between two cubes as i did in ods to cube through update rules but there is no option like in ods to send the data(update dso data to data targets).Please help me on this.

Thanks, but i have some doubt again, i did it and also data transfered to the second cube, but after creating the connection i went to bi7 in infosource and there i found that cube name starting with 8(cube name), but my question is can i do it in bw3.5 without going to rsa1.

I have DSO which loads data from psa using 7.0 tranformation (using DTP). And i have a cube which loads the data from that DSO using 3.x transfer rules. Now i have deleted the init request for a infopack before load the data into DSO. But when i load the data from DSO to cube by right click on DSO -> click On Additional Functions -> update the 3.x data to targets, It is giving me an error like 'Delete init. request REQU_4H7UY4ZXAO72WR4GTUIW0XUKP before running init. again with same selection
Please help me with this.

Dear All,
How to delete the duplicate data from PSA Table, I have the purchase cube and I am getting the data from Item data source.
In PSA table, I found the some cancellation records for that particular records quantity would be negative for the same record value would be positive.
Due to this reason the quantity is updated to target but the values would summarized and got the summarized value of all normal and cancellation .
Please let me know the solution how to delete the data while updating to the target.

in deleting the records in PSA table difficult and how many you will the delete.
you can achieve the different ways.
1. creating the DSO maintain the some key fields it will overwrite the based on key fields.
2. you can write the ABAP logic deleting the duplicate records at info package level check with the your ABAPer.
3.you can restrict the cancellation records at query level.

When l am loading data from ODS to Cube with help of data mart, I am getting error in QA system , IN DM system ,every thing went well.IF i see the detail tab in monitor under Processing .
Its is showing like this .
Transfer Rules : Missing Massage.
Update PSA : missing massage.
Processing end : missing message.
I have checked the coding in update rules, everything is ok.
Plz any inputs.
