Updating manually

Hi, I am updating music manually...which I want to do. When I copy songs from my library to my ipod, by draging to my ipod button, it doesnt go into my itunes library and on to my computer. does anyone know whats wrong?

Simple, you ignore all the "autofill" stuff, UNcheck anything associated with it at the bottom of the Contents pane in iTunes and select the songs in your iTunes library you want to put on your Shuffle, then drag and drop them onto the Shuffle icon in Devices on the left side of the iTunes window...

The installer should have gone into your Apple Software Update folder:
C:\USERS\<user name>\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update
Right mouse click the msi file and select INSTALL

I have just purchased Photoshop CS6 and ran the updater from within Photoshop. I know some of the updates worked but not all. So I ran it again 3 or 4 attempts now have failed with this message:-
It has failed to install -
Extension Manager 6.0.6 Update
with the error message -
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
I have found a solution on the forum-
Download and install the updates manually. Go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates and download the update that you are trying to install.
There is no update available there which refers to Extension Manager 6.0.6 Update
I opened the Adobe Application Manager and run it for updates, it reports I'm good - no updates! But when I then try for an update from within Photoshop I still get the same message telling me I need to instal ExtensionManager 6.0.6 Update
I have tried to find the error log from within my system - but failed misserably (I am on Windows 7-64)
So please, where do I go from here? Do I need Extension Manager? What does it do? Is it vital I install this update?

Something really weird with the latest update for us poor perpetual license users.
Tried to install the upate and received a bunch of error codes U44MP17 on the first try, U44MP27 on the second (go figure why the error code changed) then tried the manual update - that failed as well arrgh!!!!
Now checking for updates, Help/Updates it tells me that the only update outstanding is ACR8.1 - weird I thought as about is reporting 13.0 - so checked the binaries and Photoshop.exe (64 bit) shows a date of 6/11/2013 so although I received errors it looks like the update maybe, sorta took.
The other binaries with the 6/11/13 date are

AlignmentLib.dll
AGM.dll
Cooltype.dll
TFKGEOM.dll
All works OK but a tad confused as to why this may have happened - but given the robustness of AAM maybe I am not surprised.
Holding off with the ACR8.1 update until next week, I have a wedding shoot tomorrow - cannot afford to fall back or reinstall anything
So can anyone confirm that my update really took?

How to put photoes in ipod if it is in "update manually" condition ?

i am using a new computer and if i put in"update automatically" then all the songs left in my ipod will surely be gone so how do i update photoes and videos on my ipod if it is in "update manually" condition ? ....(however i know how to update songs i.e dragging it)...thankx

Have you tried a different USB port as well as a different USB cable if at all possible? Does it appear when you connect it to another system?

How to update Manually/Automatically with iTunes 7.0.1

Hi all,
I just downloaded iTunes 7.0.1. I haven't connected my iPod as yet (which is still running v 1.1.2 firmware) because I can't find the check box I am after.
I want to tell iTunes that I will upate my iPod manually, and if memory serves me correctly previous versions of iTunes have had a check box for this in the preferences tabs, but I can't see it anywhere with v 7.0.1.
I don't want to connect my iPod until I am convinced that it will only update manually, as I have some albums on there that are not in my library (due to a corrupt backup of my library when I had to reformat my hard drive!). Obviously if I plug it in and it updates automatically I will lose these albums forever.
Any ideas?

You can only change it to manual update when you connect it to iTunes; when iTunes recognizes your iPod it will show you a summary of it and start updating it, you can stop the update by clicking the x at the top. If those albums were bought off of iTunes then you can put them back to iTunes by right-clicking the iPod icon on iTunes and selecting Transfer Purchases.
You can also use YamiPod which takes music from your iPod and puts it back to your computer. http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/

Software Updates - Manual Download

Is it possible to download software updates manually on another machine other than the server. This is the reason I ask. I am currently going through training for the 10.5 Server Administration and the exercises have you install the operating system and all the exercises on a system thats not connected to the internet. So I just want to update it without actually going on the internet because the registration for the software is just a mock up and I'm not ready to actually do the final install and registration till after I learn more.

a) Automatic update fails, it hangs at 71%, nothing happens, even after an hour
b) I downloaded

Tax code not updated in EKKN table after PO update manually

Hi,
my scenario is we had created some PO for service and tax code for MWST was V1 .now it has been changed and we manually changed to v2 through ME22n by clicking on the update price button on the condition screen for each service item.now on the PO its showing correct. but in the EKKN table showing the previous tax code i.e. V1. also when posting MIRO system fetching old tax code instead of new one.please help me

ITouch software updates/manually manage music and videos

Since I don't conventionally sync itunes and itouch, but manually manage my playlists and media, I'm beginning to understand that updating the ipod software means having to manually create my playlists again once the software resets to factory settings. Did I miss something in the update process that would have bypassed the factory reset? or am I obligated to join the masses who sync.
Others who suffer this indignity?

The software updates don't always restore the iPod, and there does not seem to be any user-control over that.
If you manage things manually, you're living dangerously if you're putting all your work into building playlist just on the iPod. You really ought to build the playlists in iTunes, then drag and drop them to the iPod. That way, in case you have to restore your iPod for any reason, you can easily replicate what you previously had on there. Note that this is not the same as auto-sync; you're still managing things manually but doing all the creating within iTunes so that you have a backup.

And we would like to have several technicians be able to add notes to the manual for revision updates, but not all notes may be included in the manual update. Is there a way to have the notes transfered from the old manual to the new manual by some sort of tagging. Say the note applied to section 1.2.6.
Any way to do it automatically or is it going to be a manual method only?

Deactive the update manually

i have got a question regarding to deactivating the update request manually.
I have deactivated all our update request servers manually, because of we need a consistent system state.
I deactivated the update reuqest server, and now if the users try to update something i get the following entries in the syslog:
> No active update server available (context = :1:)
In the explanation stands:
There is currently no active update server. Your update request can therefore not be executed immediately. It will be processed automatically after the update server has been started. You can display the active update server in the update administration (transaction SM13 -> Administration).
And in the next line there is the following message
> Transaction Canceled 15 017 ( :1: )
I also looked over SM13 and selected all datasets in that time frame... but i don't see any datasets.
What is correct now? Are the users able to update the data and it will be done after the update request servers are up again or is the transaction "lost" and the user have do it again after the servers are up?
And if the request are stored - where are they stored? because by SM13 i can not see the waiting requests while the servers are down.

i have tested a little bit around and found the following:
1) Update request deactivated & update server active
The transaction is waiting at the user frontend and the update request is spooled in the update request queue with status "init". (the transaction data is not lost!)
2) Update request deactivated & update servers deactivated
The user is recieving an error while try to execute his transaction ( something like that "No active update server available (context = :D:)") and the transaction is aborting. Nothing is spooled in the update request queue.
So everthing is clear now...

If yoo have a 3G iPod you can ony go to iOS 5.1.1
If a 4G iPod you can only go to 6.0.1
If you try going to another version you will get that error.

Hi,
I found the reason for this.
For the column wo_line_id the show option in the report attributes was not checked.
Thats why apex_application.g_f02.count is returning 0 and the loop was never executed.
