Upgrade from CCM 1.0 to SRM-MDM 3.0

At present  we are using CCM 1.0  with  SRM 4.0 and in the process of upgrading it to SRM-MDM 3.0  catalogs. All the internal catalogs needs to upgraded to MDM 3.0 from CCM 1.0.
Could somebody explain the steps to follow to achieve this.
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
It is not upgrading the system. It is new installation and contents migration.
1. install SRM-MDM Catalog
2. import contents
3. define views (namedsearch/mask in MDM)
Please check the SRM-MDM Catalog installation guide.

  • Need to understand impact on workflows during upgrade from EBP 3.0 to SRM 5

    Hello experts,
Greetings to all and a Happy New Year!!
I am new to the workflow concept, though i have a fair idea of EBP.
We are using EBP 3.0, classic scenario.  Very soon, we would be upgrading from EBP 3.0 to SRM 5.0. I have a few questions which i need to knw before I take up the upgrade part:
    1) The impact on the worflows like Shopping cart approval, purchase contract approval etc when we upgrade from EBP 3.5 to SRM 5.0...
    2) Does EBP have their own release strategies or are the release strategies defined in R/3 and applied to the shopping cart when it is ordered in EBP? As in classic scenario, POs are created in R/3, then how does the appoval process happen?
    3) What are the necessary things, if any, that I should make sure of before upgrading?
    4) Does all workflows also get upgraded or is there any tool to upgrade the workflow?
I am not clear with the approval concept in EBP. I know there are workflows that get triggered when a shopping cart is ordered but the approval process in this workflow is something which i want to understand. Please forward me a document, if possible, or a link will also do.
Please let me know the necessary details.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ayush

    Hi Ayush,
Most workflows will be the same, but if you have modifications on these workflows' then i'd suggest reverting back to the standards for the upgrade.
Im not quite sure what you mean about the release strategy. What can be done though, is creating Purchase Requisitions in the R/3 and pass them to the SRM system. From here PO's can be created and the approval process will take place in accordance with your workflow rules in tcode: swb_cond.
Before upgrading, try to have the system as clean as possible. When i say clean, i mean make sure that users are consistent, SC's, PO's etc arent left hanging. Try to avoid carrying documents over to the new system. I'd suggest archiving anything you can too.
I don't have any documents to give you but the basic process and transactions are as follows:
SWB_COND: Your workflow start conditions. Which WF's are on/off (defined by green/red light)
SWI6: This will let you examine a document and its relevant WF by its object id. (SC No, PO No etc..
SWUD: Allows for Consistency checks on your workflow and will find any inconsistencies which are occuring. (Use Test Environment and WF Tech Name i.e 14500015)
SWDD: The workflow builder, will let you build, activate, create new version and modify the worklows in your system.
Approval itself is simply the chain of approval which a workflow is defined to follow. You need your managers to approve/reject and the conditions for which Managers should be called for approval. Its works from Possible Approvers for workitems and Excluded Approvers for workitems.
Understanding the WF log is the most essential thing of all. The understanding of BADI is quite important too.
Hope this info helps you. Check help.sap.com cause everything is documented there too!
    Cheers

  • Upgrade from EBP 4.0 to SRM 5.0

    Hi y'all,
We are thinking about upgrading from our current EBP 4.0 to SRM 5.0. We are only using EBP for the self-service procurement scenario - with a classic integration towards two different R/3 4.6C systems. We have no internal catalogs and it is very much a standard set-up
Has anyone had some <b>experiences to share?</b>
Will it be a "large" or a "small" upgrade?
Are there any watchouts or learnings?
    Many thanks in advance
    Thyge

    hello Thyge,
you are running on EBP 4.0, i.e. SRM 3.0: Extension of mainstream maintenance was extended from end of June 2006 to end of December 2006, at no extra fee.
Requisite 4.0 will be supported to end of December 2006 (refer to SAP Note 485884 for detailed information on Requisite).
That means that, excpet if you go in a custom support contract with SAP, your system will not be supported at end of 2006.
So you must "be prepared" and do this upgrade in 2006 !!!
If you don't use new features, have only 20 users, and a nearly standard SRM, you upgrade efforts will be really light:
    - technical upgrade (attention: new Oracle version required) Unicode version ?
    - nearly no custom dev alignement
    - light re-training
The main workload would be the migration from Requisite to SAP CCM 2.0 (if you choose this option), depending on your actual content management strategy.
I think a 3 months upgrade project will be the correct duration for you.

  • CCM 2.0 to SRM MDM 3.0 Migration

    Hi,
Currently we are using CCM 2.0 in SRM 5.0.
Now we are moving to SRM 7.0 along with SRM MDM 3.0.
IN CCM 2.0 , we have country wise catalogs.
SO we have aorund 30 catalogs for each country.
US user can see only US related catalogs.
Can we acheive same thing in SRM MDM 3.0 ? If so, please explain.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Venkatesh P

    Hi Venkatesh.
Yes. you can achieve this through various channels in SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0.
    1. Named Search: MDM provides a feature called named search which filters the records based on the specific search criteria.
In your case you can create a anamed search in the datamanager for each country and in the webservice definition you can pass the named search so that once the catalog is launched it will display the items corresponding to the country
    2. Additional Paramter: Let say you have the country names as a lookup in the repository. you can pass the country name as a additional parameter to the webservice definition to launch catalog for specific records.
Refer Note: 1389625. Also refer thread: SRM MDM Catalog 3.0 --- UI Search --- Filters

The installation is not proceeding in the PUB or in the SUB?
Make sure you have run Upgrade Assistant and
    LMHOSTS|HOSTS files are configured correctly.
Windows path environment path is not correct. So the isntaller is unable to save the dc
    database.
It could be incorrect DNS entree that maybe preventing it from properly installing it.
It could be that you running into
CSCee81635 bug below are the details.
If the problem is after installing CallManager, DCDirectory service fails to start giving a logon failure error message.
    Conditions:
If windows administrator password has any of the following 4 characters, this
    problem will surface.
    \ " % ^
    Workaround:
Change the windows administrator password to remove the one or more special
characters mentioned above from the windows administrator password and reinstall CallManager.

  • Upgrade from CCM 4.2 to CUCM 7.1

Is it doable to upgrade Cisco Call Manager 4.2 to Cisco Unified Communication Manager 7.1 ?

    Hi there,
Yes, 4.2(3) would be the minimum required version
DMA for Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 4.x
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/ccmcompmatr.html#wp57424
    DMA release Notes
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/prod_release_notes_list.html
Data Migration Assistant (DMA) Release 7.1(3) collects application data from Unified CM Releases 4.1(3), 4.2(3), and 4.3(2) system for upgrade to Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 7.1(3). DMA exports data in the current Window based system (with SQL server database) that later gets imported to the appliance-based system (with Informix database).

  • CCM 2.0 Catalog to SRM-MDM 3.0 Catalog during SRM 7.0 upgrade

    Hi,
We are upgrading our existing SRM 5.0 system to SRM 7.0 and we are planning to deploy SRM-MDM 3.0 Catalog as it is more flexible & SAP is not going to support CCM 2.0 Catalog after 2013. Please let me know the upgrade steps/plan to upgrade CCM 2.0 to SRM-MDM 3.0 catalog. As per my understanding, there is no tool/method available to upgrade from CCM 2.0 to SRM-MDM 3.0 catalog available. We need to build it from scratch i.e maintain SAP supplied MDM repository, upload data from SRM/ERP, upload suppliers catalog etc.
    Thanks,
    AS

    Hi,
I have migrated CCM to SRM-MDM Catalog.
    Steps are
    - Install SRM-MDM Catalog
    - Adjust Repository if you have custom fields
    - Import contents
    - Adjust view
Migration itself is not difficult but you need to learn how to use MDM client tools.
The SRM270 class room training is good one.

  • Upgrading fm CCM 1.0 to CCM 2.0

    Hello gurus,
does anybody know if upgrading from CCM 1.0 to CCM 2.0 all the existing content, schema, mapping and catalogs is preserved or a reinitialization of /CCM/MASTER_CATALOG is required and everything must be created again?
I've got this doubt because in CCM 2.0 I receive error message "Error reading catalogs..." whenever I start "Edit Catalogs" transaction and cannot see any catalog there(neither /CCM/MASTER_CATALOG).
Before starting program /CCM/INITIALIZE_CME we would be sure that it's the only way to make CCM 2.0 work...
Thanks in advance for any advice you eould give.
    Pierluigi

    Hi
    Pl see note 843867.
You will need to run /CCM/INITIALIZE_CME

  • Pictures not appearing in after upgrade to SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 SP7 Patch4

    Hello,
Due to some issues in Advanced search we performed the service pack upgrade from SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 SP5 (with MDM 7.1.03.72) to SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 SP7 Patch4 ( MDM 7.1.04.146).  With this new SP, the Pictures are not appearing anymore under the Hyperlink section anwhere in Catalog browser( Compare, Context view, Item details). With earlier SP pictures were appearing perfectly.
We have done like this:( refer earlier thread - Re: SRM MDM Catalog 3.0 Image display) thanks Sudhanshu, Jitesh and Mandeep for suggesting that solution!
    Using the hyperlink field
    type : rendered
MIME type : image type i.e. .jpg
    URL : web URL
We had gone for this option because we dont want to store impages in MDM, and this worked perfoectly until new SP upgrade.
    Any clues?
    Thanks
    Pravin

    Hi Bala,
Nothing appears under the Hyperlink section in Catalog browser, though a valid link exists in Data Manager under Hyperlink  as type-Rendered, MIME type as JPG and a valid URL.
I have searched Service Market place for this fix of this issue and found that SAP has improved the technology ( from Object Cache to Blob Cache) to display pictures/hyperlinks from SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 SP06 and MDM 7.1SP04 onwards. We were  on SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 SP05 and MDM 7.1 SP03 before Dev upgrade.
Here are the notes for reference of others who get into same issue.
Note 1450593 - Implementation of BlobCache
This note states "MDM7.1 SP04 offers new image caching functionality called Blob Cache. The old functionality of Object Cache is replaced with the Blocb Cache mechanism in Catalog 3.0 SP06 P1"
Note 1505796 - Images not showing in SRM-MDM catalog (error in BlobCache)
This note talks about the issue in MDM API with Blob Cache. The Fix has been provided in SRM-MDM Catalog SP08 Patch 01.
But upgrade is not something that happens on the drop of a hat, we dont want to do another upgrade,  I would like to know if there is a workaround.
    Thanks
    Pravin

  • Images:  SRM-MDM vs CCM 2.0

    Hi all:
In CCM 2.0, there is an 'Image' characteristic (more specifically /CCM/PICTURE#/CCM/URL) which renders the image directly for the end user.  Because it is of type 'URL', either an internally-hosted image URL can be used or even an external one (for example, where the image is hosted on a supplier's server).
Does anyone know if SRM-MDM can also render images from an external URL?  Or do the images HAVE to reside in the Image Repository in SRM-MDM?
    Cheers,
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
The image url can be stored / interpreted in 2 options for SRM-MDM 1.0 : as a hyperlink (like a webpage link) or rendered (like in CCM or images in webpages).
You need to declare your MIME Type (like you specify in CCM) in the MIME Types lookup table (e.g. JPG).
Then you can go into the Record Detail tab and click on the 'hyperlink' field/area. You can then select to create a hyperlink of type Link or Rendered. The rest is quite self-explanatory.
Of course, once you have done all that, remember to enable the field Hyperlink through your UI.
Something to try out! Happy shopping!
    Cheers,
    Foh

  • SRM-MDM Netweaver Upgrade

Does anyone know of any reason why we can not upgrade Netweaver 7.0 from SP 14 to SP20 for our server running the SRM-MDM Catalog.  All of the documentation states min requirements but no max.
    We are currently running SRM-MDM Catalog 2.0 SP4 Patch10 on Netweaver 7.0 SP14

  • Issues faced in MDM 7.1 SP07 upgrade from SP05

    Dear Experts,
We have a requirement to upgrade the SAP MDM 7.1 SP05 to SP07.
For this Could you all please list out the various issues, which could be faced in doing this upgrade and what could be the Possible Solutions for these issues.
And if anyone has done the upgrade from SAP MDM 7.1 SP05 to SP07, then Please share you experience for the same related to the issues faced and any other relevan tinformation which could be helpful.
Thanks in advance for the valuable inputs.
    Regards
    Gaurav Kumar Sharma

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdm71/helpdata/en/4d/885f32b97d14aee10000000a42189c/content.htm
Similaryly read for SP06 fixes at - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdm71/helpdata/en/be/e0048b426b4c20957078b61ec71e46/content.htm
These links gives you an idea of what all changes are going to come into your new system. So unless you upgrade to SP07 i.e. the latest version and test it in DEV/Sandbox environment you should not plan to move ahead in Production. This is always recommended but there is very less chance that the already working solution will not work as expected after the upgrade.

  • Recalculate the Price in SRM once the item is transfer to SRM from SRM MDM

    Hi Experts,
I am technical person and am facing one issue,we are using MDM catalog for selecting the product and after selection the product is getting transfer to the SRM.
In SRM we have Quantity field available which is editable(we don't want to make it read only field),everything works fine if no one is changing the Quantity field which is coming from SRM MDM.
But when a requester is changing the quantity field of the product in SRM then the total price is not getting change accordingly in SRM.is there any way to fetch the price field again from SRM MDM once it is transferred to the SRM.
I know that before transferring the field to SRM if we change the quantity field there there is "RECALCULATE" button availabe to change the total price but after transferring the item whats is the procedure to change the Price if quantity is changed in SRM.
Note that Price field depends on the Quantity field in SRM MDM and it is maintained in MDM but not in SRM.
    Please Help me friends.

    Hi ,
I just want to clarify that after the product  toSRM it will check data from their price data maintained in SRM.
For yr problem just try these things and get back with yr results
    1. whatever quantity you are putting in SRM ,try with same quantity in mdm catalog and check what price is coming
If that is same then not a prob because may bbe  for that product multiple price maintained for different quantity
otherwise for sure SRM are fetching the price from their  storage.
    2. Instead of add an item from catalog  add same item from srm using the  product id ,supplier part number and other information
may be  at srm level they maintain different condition on item level.
Please try at yr end and get back with yr result.
(for validation of price from mdm there is a setting spro that when checked do validate the price from mdm catalog when ypu copy yr product in srm)
    Thanks,
    Sudhanshu

  • Transferring Product Data from SRM 7.0 to SRM-MDM 3.0

    Dear SRM-MDM experts,
We are running the program BBP_CCM_TRANSFER_CATALOG to transfer product data from SRM 7 to SRM-MDM 3.0  The question we have is after running the program, where do we find the file the XML file which the program has generated so we can see the results?  SLG1 just shows how many products were processed.  We need to see the list of the products generated.
    Thanks and regards
    Pedzi

    Hi Pedzi,
You can find the generated XML file in MDM server. Here is the path to get the Product Data XML file.
    C:/usr/sap/SRD\MDS00/mdm/distributions/MDD_ORCL/REPOSITORYNAME/Inbound/SRM/_MDMProductDataTransmission/Archive

  • SRM MDM Catalog - Transfer Contracts from SRM - XI - MDM

    Hi,
We are implementing SRM MDM Catalog1.0 with SRM 5.0 & ECC 6.0.
We have already configured XI content for MDM Catalog.
We have also done the basic settings for transferring contracts from srm to XI (including Backend System & Check box in Contracts for transfer to catalog).
But when i run the report SRMMDM_CTR_TRANSFER, the log tells me that contracts transfer has been initialized, but I cant see any XML message in SXMB_MONI
Can someone pls help and tell me why is that happening??
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Jasmeet

    Hi Mausam,
yes we have a SRM system from which we want are going to be sending Contracts, Prod Id's, Product Categories, Suppliers List etc from SRM to MDM using XI.
We have the Pre delivered content for XI from which we have set up the Interfaces etc.
This mapping between SRM-XI-MDM works pretty fine if i try to send Products or suppliers from SRM. I can see the IDOCs being generated. But when i run the report for Contracts, I cant see any IDOC in SXMB_MONI in SRM which is my source system.
So hence my question..... Is there some other way by which Contracts are transferred and if so then how and where can I see it.
    Regards,
    Jasmeet
