Upgrade from Robohelp 8.0 to Robohelp 9.0

Prior to upgrading to Robohelp 9.0, I backed up all my existing project files from Robohelp 8 to the production server and kept a copy on my local server under My Documents.
When accessing one of the 8.0 project files using Robohelp 9.0, a pop up box appeared asking if I wanted to upgrade and I selected yes.
After the upgrade occurred, the file opened in Robohelp; however, I noticed a few of my images were missing and a project folder displaying with no topics.   Very strange as to the files
were all there prior to the upgrade.  I went back into the project file under My Documents and all the data is showing but not Robohelp, why is this occurring?
Hope I have not confused anyone, your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Wendy

Not wishing to step on Jeff's toes but first try simply renaming the folder with the missing images (in Project Manager).
If that does not work, then answer Jeff's questions.
Also add whether your version of RoboHelp had the 802 service release applied?

  • Upgrading from RoboEngine 3.1 to RoboHelp Server 9

    Old-time user, new ID. My company recently upgraded from RoboHelp 4 to RoboHelp 9. (Yes, we're slow about some things.) I was recently asked to upgrade our WebHelp Pro output, which had been posted to an old RoboEngine 3.1 server. Of course, the new RoboHelp 9 output does not play well with RE 3.1, and I got a "RoboHelp Engine server is not available" message when I attempted to upgrade the output. After doing a little research, I discovered that this lack of backward compatibility began with RoboHelp 7.
    Fortunately, I made backups of my old WebHelp Pro output, and our users can still access the Help files. But I've been tasked with researching the upgrade path from our old version to the new one. So here's what I'd like to know:
    Is buying RoboHelp Server 9 sufficient?
    Is the process of publishing the Help files to the server reasonably similar?
    The server that hosts RE 3.1 is a Windows 2000 machine. Will I be able to run RH Server 9 on it?
    Will I need to provide new URLs for the Help links inside our Internet-based software after the upgrade, or will the old links, which use the format http://machine.org/roboapi.asp?project=ProjectName, still work?
    Thanks in advance for your help. Nice to see that Rick, Colum, and Peter are still firing the big guns around here. I feel strangely reassured, as if everything will work out just fine
    Chet

    Welcome back Chet. I nearly typed the obligatory "Welcome to the RH forums" greeting when I saw your single post but that doesn't seem right here
    The issue here is that the underlying RoboHelp and RoboHelp Server code was completely rewritten in Java. Personally I'm surprised you managed to get RH9 output running on RE 3.1 at all. It just goes to show what a error tolerant application it is.
    You'd be far better off upgrading both the client and the server applications. I think you'll be surprised at just how easy RHServer is to install and use these days. No more fiddling with permissions. As for publishing, you still have a WebHelp Pro SSL in RH9. It does have some additional options and the UI of the RH Server application will have changed also. There is a lot of new functionality. You may find that the URL for the help is different though. There is an excellent guide that is worth reading called the RoboHelp Server Reviewers Guide. You can find it here and it will answer a lot of your questions.
    One thing you may want to consider is migrating the data from RE3.1 to RHServer 9. The new app has a migration tool that can migrate from an earlier release. However I am not sure if it could cope with data from RE3.1. You could try, and it is doesn't get the data into the new database with SQL.

  • Upgrading from an older version of Robohelp.

    I have just sat on the telephone for over an hour with no response!  The company I work for own an older version of Robohelp Office - Versions 9.0/9.2 and 2002, we have all the serial numbers, licence numbers etc, and we would like to know whether we can just purchase the upgrade to the new robohelp or whether we have to purchase the full licence.  Any help would be great!

    I'd be rather surprised if it was right. The product upgrade page says only version X5, 6 and 7 can be upgraded. Click here to see it.

  • Upgrading from Robohelp 6 to Robohelp 10

    Hi,
    I have been working on Robohelp 6 HTML to create a huge online help both CHM and Webhelp (Windows 7 and Office 2010). Now my company is planning to upgrade to Robohelp version 10.
    1. I want to know the impact it will have on my existing Robohelp 6 files.
    2. What points should I keep in mind before saying yes to such an upgrade?
    3. Has any problems been reported as yet after opening the Robohelp 6 files in Robohelp 10?
    4. Can I directly upgrade from Robohelp 6 to Robohelp 10?
    Would really appreciate some help on this. I don't want to recommend something which might end up causing problems for me.
    Thanks

    Hi
    I upgrated from version 7 to 9 about a year ago and it was only possible using RH 8.
    My project - created in RH 7 - was pretty messed up when I tried to upgrade directly from RH 7 to RH 9.
    I known this answer doesn't solve your problem but it's just a little info about what to expect if you try to jump over 3 versions.

  • Upgrading from roboHelp x3 to V7

    Any major reason to Prefer RoboHelp V 7 over RoboHelp x3 or
    any reason to avoid x3 - major bugs or anything. Is there any
    backward compatibility issues.

    Thanks for your reply Peter.
    Actually we currently have RH x3 and our Help is written in
    that when RH x3 was bought and now I am assigned to enhance the
    Help but I was not sure that enhancing a help would be a good idea
    in RH3 or if we should upgrade to RH6. sorry, I meant RH6 not RH7.
    Also, I was not sure that working with RHx3 would be running
    smoth with all the other softwares which have been updated over the
    time, i.e. MS Word, Pdf etc.

  • How to upgrade Robohelp X5 files to Robohelp 7 without broken links ?

    How to upgrade Robohelp X5 files to Robohelp 7 without broken links ? And also i need proper procedure for migrating Robohelp X5 to Robohelp 7 that does not affect the system performance due to .cpd file.

    Upgrading from 5 to 7 should be as simple as opening the project and I don't recall it giving any broken link problems. Is your project on your local drive rather than a network drive? Is source control involved?
    What's the basis for thinking the CPD will cause performance issues?

  • Upgrading from TCS 2.0 to TCS v. 2.5 - Know What You're Getting!!!

    I'm not the type to normally write in forums but I just went through 2 days of customer service and technical support hell and thought I would share the experience with the sole motivation being to spare fellow TCS users the aggravation and make you aware of a possible disconnect between sales and technical support - know what you`re getting!!
    Yesterday I purchased the upgrade from TCS 2.0 to TCS 2.5 from the Adobe online store as an electronic download. After receiving a confirmation email I logged into my Adobe account and noted that the download page contained 2 serial numbers, one for Photoshop CS5, one for Captivate 5 and then a zip folder for UPDATES only to Framemaker and Robohelp and also 2 language packs for text-to-speech for Captivate 5. Obviously I was missing links to Framemaker, Robohelp and Acrobat.
    The goal of my purchase was to procure an additional licence in order to install TCS v 2.5 on 2 additional computers so, I had a sick feeling that I may have misunderstood what was offered in the upgrade; I then had the following conversation with Adobe`s Chat Live Now (excerpted from transcript):
    Me: Hi. I just  purchased the upgrade from TCS 2.0 to TCS 2.5. My expectation was that  this contained all programs within the suite yet on my downloads the  only programs that are listed are Photoshop CS5 and Captivate 5. Does  this upgrade package not include the ability to install Framemaker,  Robohelp and Acrobat. I purchased on the assumption that the upgrade  would constitute an additional licence for these products as well. Was I  wrong?
    Perkins: ...TCS includes all programs, you need to select those programs while installing.
    Me: Okay, I'm just  downloading it now so I will confirm that it does, in fact, include all  of the programs. So just to clarify, my original understanding was  correct and the upgrade provides me with 2 additional licences for TCS?
    Perkins: Yes. You can install 1 copy of the software on 2 computers with same Operating System.
    Okay - fair enough, I then re-visited the Adobe Technical Communication Suite 2.5 web page under Upgrade--Reasons to Upgrade where it states:
    ``Work with full new versions of Adobe professional tools for technical  communicators and help authors, including Adobe® FrameMaker® 9, Adobe  RoboHelp® 8, Adobe® Captivate® 5, Adobe Acrobat® 9 Pro Extended, and  Adobe Photoshop® CS5 software``.
    Now to me, FULL means full versions. I subsequently entered customer service hell and spent an hour and a half on the phone being transferred through 5 different people, none of whom were familiar with the contents of the Technical Communication Suite. It took forever jsut to get them to understand that I weas upgrading from TCS version 2.0 and NOT trying to upgrade from Photoshop CS4 and Captivate 4 directly. Eventually my question as to whether I was entitled to an additional licence for Framemaker, Robohelp and Acrobat Pro Extended was elevated to Tier 2 and I was told I would be contacted by Adobe. Today I received a voicemail and email stating that I should install Framemaker, Robohelp and Acrobat Pro Extended from my original TCS v 2.0 installer. I subsequently did so (successfully) and then installed Captivate 5 without issue.
    The next challenge arose with Photshop CS5 - the serial number, according to the installer, was invalid. Back to customer support who referred me to technical support - turns out the download link on my Adobe account download page was for a Chinese language-only version of Photoshop Extended which doesn`t even come with TCS 2.5! So, another 90 minutes on the phone throughout which I keep seeking clarification, does TCS 2.5 grant me an additional licence for Framemaker 9, Robohelp 8 and Acrobat 9 Pro Extended...
    Technical Service states they can send me a physical disc with installers for Photoshop CS 5 and Captivate 5 and then CONFIRMED that I am NOT entitled to any additional licences for Framemaker, Robohelp or Acrobat, I am ONLY entitled to the 2 installs under the original TCS version 2 licence. This of course runs completely contrary to the literature on the website and my conversation with Live Chat Now. In disgust, I have submitted a refund request.
    Just for kicks I decided to again try to clarify with Live Chat Now what products that I, as a customer, receive a licence for by purchasing the upgrade to TCS v 2.5 and have pasted the transcript of that chat as follows;
    Me: Can you please  confirm for me whether upgrading from the Adobe Technical Communication  Suite version 2.0 to version 2.5 entitles me to 1 additional licence for ALL of the applications that constitute the Technical Communication  Suite (i.e. Robohelp, Acrobat, Framemaker, Captivate, Photoshop and  Presenter) OR does it merely entitle me to 1 licence to install  Photoshop CS5 and Captivate 5 in conjunction with my pre-existing TCS  2.0 installation?
    Morph: Give me a minute, I’m reading it.
    Me: sure
    Morph: When you place the order for upgrade, you will get new products.
    Me: I understand that I will get Photoshop CS5 and Captivate 5 BUT do I also get Framemaker, Acrobat and Robohelp?
    Morph: Adpbe eLearning  Suite  2 includes: Adobe Captivate 5, Flash Professional CS5,  Dreamweaver CS5, Photoshop CS5 Extended, Acrobat 9 Pro, Adobe Presenter 7  (Available only on Windows platform), Soundbooth CS5.
    Morph: No.
    Morph: Only Acrobat is Included.
    Me: I am not talking about the e-Learning Suite, I am referring to the Technical Communication Suite
    Morph: Oh okay, got you, first tell me, using which product you will be upgrading this from?
    Me: TCS 2.0
    Morph: Okay.
    Morph: Yes, if you do this  upgrade you will get Adobe FrameMaker 9, RoboHelp 8, Adobe Captivate 5,  Photoshop CS5, Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, and Adobe Presenter 7
    Me: so this will  entitle me to 1 additional licence for all of these applications, over  and above the licence I already own for the TCS version 2?
    Morph: Correct, however,  you may also be installing the software (Upgrade version) directly  without uninstalling the previous version of the software.
    Me: So just to  clarify, if I purchase the upgrade and decide that I want to install on a  completely different machine than the two computers that already have  TCS version 2.0 installed (as entitled by my licence) then I will be  able to, in effect, install the TCS 2.5 onto two completely different  computers (as per the Adobe licence) so that, at the end of the day, I  can actually have FOUR computers with TCS installed by virtue of the 2  licences that I should have - one from TCS version 2.0 and 1 licence  from TCS version 2.5É
    Morph: Purchasing the  “upgrade” version product is nothing but a “full” version, but if you do  not have the serial key for older version you can’t Install the  upgrade, but for full version you do no need previous version serial  number.
    Morph: Correct.
    Morph: You can simply purchase your upgrade and verify that you have the qualifying older product during the installation process.
    Morph: If it's installed on  your computer, the Adobe installer will either find it or prompt you to  help it find the software for verification.
    Morph: If it's not installed, you will be prompted to enter the qualifying serial number for the older version.
    Me: Is the download file one individual installer or an installer for each application
    Morph: It is one Indiviidual Installer.
    Morph: When you download it will automatically Install every program in the Suite one-by-one.
    Me: Okay, the reason I  have been asking is that yesterday I made this purchase yet my download  page had links only to Photoshop (a Chinese language only version of  Photoshop Extended which does not come with the Suite) and Captivate.  There was no link whatsoever for the other applications. I went through  customer service and technical support and no one, and I mean no one,  could answer the questions I`ve asked you. According to customer support  and the serialization team, the upgrade to v. 2.5 DOES NOT include  Framemaker, Robohelp and Acrobat. As a consumer I have absolutely no  idea what is right and what is wrong. How am I supposed to make an  informed purchase...
    Morph: did you check on the link and confirmed that it does not Include the upgrade to version 2.5?
    Me: Sorry - not clear what you mean, my receipt from the Adobe store was for TCS v 2.5
    Morph: Like I said  upgrade for the Technical communicate suite Includes Adobe FrameMaker 9,  RoboHelp 8, Adobe Captivate 5, Photoshop CS5, Acrobat 9 Pro Extended,  and Adobe Presenter 7, and you should be getting all as a single  download link, seems like you are not able to make it with the link to  Install Individual products altogether, so you need to contact our  Customer Service at 800-833-6687. for the
    Morph: precise Info.
    Me: I went through  that route yesterday and today and they told me that the upgrade DOES  NOT include the other applications. As well, I noticed that the download  file size for the upgrade is 1 half the size of the full version -  obviously something is missing
    Me: The information you are telling me is the precise opposite of what they told me. How do I, as a consumer, get the proper answer
    Morph: upgrade do Includes the product I have mentioned above.
    Me: I know you`re  trying to assist but I`m flummoxed - my case was escalated to Tier 2 and  they told me it doesn`t include the other applications
    Morph: up to some  extent i can help being a sales team member, ant only customer people  generate the links and have access to customer account to check what  really went wrong.
    Me: Is it possible to  have a senior sales rep contact me - this matter of a `simple` upgrade  has consumed a ridiculous amount of time. As far as my issue - Adobe  tells me nothing was wrong and that the upgrade is only a licence for  Photoshop and Captivate
    Morph: Okay,Just a minute.
    Morph: You can contact our Sales Team on 1-800-585-0774.
    So, at the end of the day, sales tells me that upgrading to v 2.5 grants me an additional licence for ALL applications in the suite whereas Adobe`s own technical support has told me this is not true. Again I ask, how does a consumer make an informed choice...
    I`ve been buying Adobe software for both Mac and PC since Creative Suite 2 came out and this has absolutely been the most frustrating experience I have ever had. I get great use out of the Techncial Communication Suite and thought it would be nice to have an additional licence but at the end of the day I have decided it certainly was not worth the hassle - particularly when Adobe itself can`t figure out what I am entitled to!!
    I am a fan of Adobe`s software but honestly, is business that good that you can treat your customers this way????

    Hi. I suspect that may indeed be the case. If so, that's fine but nowhere is it clearly articulated what a user gains by purchasing the upgrade (and I am specifically referring to an upgrade from TCS version 2 to v 2.5) and certainly sales (as evidenced by my chat transcripts where I believe I asked quite specific questions) are advising customers that you will, in fact, gain an additional licence to ALL components of the TCS by upgrading.
    If it had been clearly articulated on the Adobe TCS 2.5 website that an upgrade from TCS version 2 only entitles users to install Photoshop CS5 and Captivate 5 in conjunction with the existing installation of the other components of TCS 2 - or - better yet, stated clearly that the upgrade from version 2 to 2.5 does not entitle the end-user to an additional licence for Acrobat Pro Extended, Framemaker, Robohelp and Presenter 7 then that would allow me, as a consumer, to make an informed decision whether to make the purchase. Since that is not the case, and Adobe's sales representatives are clearly advising customers otherwise, I felt compelled to post this so others don't waste their time as I did trying to sort it out. At one point I was advised that I should use my existing TCS version 2 installer to install Acrobat etc but received contradictory answers as to whether I was entitled to an additional licence for these products. At no time during my first hour and forty-five minute conversation, my second ninety minute conversation nor my third, and last, twenty minute conversation was anyone able to clearly articulate what you have stated - and - that still leaves the fact that the text on Adobe's website is misleading.
    BTW - why I received a download link from Adobe for a Chinese-language-only version of Photoshop CS5 Extended is still a mystery
    At the end of the day, I think the TCS (while not perfect) is a very useful tool and I will, in all probability, upgrade to the full version of TCS 3 which will, no doubt, constitute a full licence for all components of the suite. I am not attributing malicious intent to the Adobe employees, but I am saying that they themselves seem confused about what is included in the upgrade and provided contradictory statements. If Adobe employees can't provide a straight, cut-to-the-chase answer about what seems a straightforward question then that certainly creates unnecessary confusion for the customer.

  • Missing Snippet Descriptions (upgraded from RH7 to RH9)

    Hi all,
    I've pretty much successfully upgraded my RH7 project to RH9. I only noticed two problems, one of which is the subject of this thread - the descriptions for each of my snippets isn't displaying. It looks to me like this problem has something to do with the way descriptions were previously stored (in a title tag for RH7 and lower versions?) versus the way the descriptions are now stored (in a meta tag, i think, for RH8 and higher versions?).
    I took a look at the hts file for one of my snippets that was upgraded from RH7 to RH9. The code looks like this (I've bolded the snippet description):
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <meta name="generator" content="Adobe RoboHelp 9" />
    <title>Use this text above the table that explains Action menu items.</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p style="margin-top: 2pt; margin-bottom: 2pt;">Select an action from the
    menu and click Go. </p>
    <p style="margin-top: 2pt; margin-bottom: 2pt;">&#160;</p>
    <p style="margin-top: 2pt; margin-bottom: 2pt;"><span class="NoteTitle">Note:</span>
    The Action menu may change depending on the content, the content's status,
    your permissions and what you have already accessed. Therefore, the options
    explained below may not all be available at the same time.</p>
    </body>
    </html>
    THEN, I created a brand new snippet in RH9. The code looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"  "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <meta name="topic-comment" content="this is a new test snippet" />
    <title>New Snippet</title>
    <meta name="generator" content="Adobe RoboHelp 9" />
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>This is placeholder text for your snippet. To add content to the body,
    replace this text. </p>
    <p>&#160;</p>
    <p>For information about applying snippets to topics, press <b>F1</b>.</p>
    </body>
    </html>
    Notice how the description for the brand new snippet starts with "<meta name" but for the snippet that was created in RH7 (and then automatically upgraded by RH9), the description for the snippet starts with "<title>".
    I have 101 (exact count) snippet files and would hate to have to go into each one and modify this line of code myself, so my question is this:  Does anybody know a good, faster way to 'upgrade' all of my hts (snippet) files to follow the new RH9 format?
    Here are two things I've tried:
    1. Using TextPad, I manually made the change in the .hts file. Result: The description still does not display in the Description column in the Snippets pod (on the left in the screenshot below), but it DOES display in the Snippet Properties window (on the right in the screenshot below).
    2. Copying the description from TextPad, then opening the Properties window for the snippet and pasting the description into the Description field, and saving the snippet. This WORKS...but I'll have to do it 100 more times to fix all my snippets, AND the Title tag still ends up being incorrect.   Although things LOOK correct in the Properties window (i.e., the Name field indicates the correct name for the snippet, and the Description field now contains the correct description), here's the resulting code:
    <meta name="topic-comment" content="Use this text as the explanation for the Add To Cart Action menu option." />
    <title>Use this text as the explanation for the Add To Cart Action menu option.</title>
    So, the meta and title tags end up having the same values! The title tag should say "Add To Cart" - I don't know how it's possible that it doesn't contain this text as the value for the title tag. Thus, it seems like in order to get the descriptions in there correctly, I have to do a copy, then paste into the Properties window in RH9, but to correct the Title tags I have to open the .hts files in a text editor (i.e., *outside* of RH9) and enter the correct title text for each snippet. Is this really going to be this time-consuming to fix?

    Let's try again.
    First forget thinking in INCLUDE mode. Everything will be included unless you exclude it.
    Example.
    Topic 1 has tag A applied to the topic
    Topic 2 has tag B applied to the topic
    Topic 3 has tag A applied to some of the content (let's say to the word Redrabbit) but not the topic itself.
    Topic 4 has the tag A applied to the word Redrabbit and tag B to the word Greenrabbit but no tag on the topic itself.
    This is how it should work.
    Topic
    Topic tag
    Text tagged
    Expression Not A
    Expression Not B
    Expression Not A and Not B
    Header 6
    1
    A
    Topic will be excluded
    Topic be in output
    Topic will be excluded
    2
    B
    Topic be in output
    Topic will be excluded
    Topic will be excluded
    3
    None
    Redrabbit is tagged A
    Topic will be in output but the word Redrabbit will be excluded
    Whole topic will be in output including the word Redrabbit.
    Topic will be in the output but the words Redrabbit and Greenrabbit will be excluded.
    4
    None
    Redrabbit is tagged A and Greenrabbit is tagged B
    Topic will be in output but the word Redrabbit will be excluded
    Topic will be in the output but the word Greenrabbit will be excluded.
    Topic will be in the output but the words Redrabbit and Greenrabbit will be excluded.
    Below is the expression dialog.
    Here I have selected from Available Tags and put them in Exclude.
    Click Advanced and you will see how RH writes the expression.
    Written like that, does it now work for you?

  • RoboHelp 7 project into RoboHelp 11

    How do I import a project, which is created with RoboHelp 7 into RoboHelp 11?

    I have pursued this with Adobe and ascertained that there are some rare scenarios where this stepped upgrade fixes a problem. It should only be necessary when upgrading from very old versions and generally I would say only do it if advised to by Adobe Support.
    As always, before backing up create a zipped copy. Zipped copies cannot be opened by Rh, you have to unzip and then open. If you get something wrong, you unzip another copy. Nice safety net.

  • RoboHelp for Word in RoboHelp 9

    I just upgraded from Robohelp X5 to Robohelp 9.  After installing version 9, I am unable to find where the new version of Robohelp for Word is.  All I can find is RoboHelp HTML.  How do you work on existing Winhelp projects with version 9?  We switched to this new version because X5 wasn't compatible with my current version of Word (2007) and we need to continue to be able to generate Winhelp.

    Hi,
    If you cannot see Robohelp for Word, then you need to run the installer of Robohelp once again and when you see the Windows which says Select the location where you need to install robohelp Click on Robohelp 9 and then in the right side you will see 2 options Check the Robohelp Word and then click on Install.
    Hope this helps.

  • Upgrade from RH6 to RH8

    Hello RH Experts,
    I need advice for buying the latest version of RH8. Our company upgraded from RH3 to RH6 in 2007. Now my boss wants me to find out about RH8. He is looking for two things - Context Sensitive Capability and Self Authoring capability.
    Following are the questions and concerns I have:
    How the above mentioned two features work in RH8?
    Is it safe for me to download a trial version of RH8 because on the same PC I have RH6?
    I had recently finished creating a Web help in RH6, what would be the process if we upgrade to RH8?
    How would I implement these two features to my existing help?
    Thanks so much in advance for your help,
    Sangeeta

    RH8 has the same context senstive capabilities as your existing version.
    I am not sure what you mean by self authoring. You still have to type the topics.
    I wouldn't put the two versions on the same PC where one is a production machine. File associations will change to the new version and it would be too easy to upgrade a project, there's no way back after doing that. Better to install it on another PC and play with copies of your projects.
    When you upgrade, you simply open the project via the XPJ file, get prompted as to whether you want to upgrade the project and click Yes.

  • Upgrade from RH8 to RH10 formatting

    We upgraded from RH8 to RH10 and some of the topics are not formatted. (1484 topics) There is alot of extra spacing inbetween bullets and alpha numbering.
    For example:
    Enter a Business    Name, if applicable. This field is not required if you    are not establishing a business account and when you provide a    first and last name. The value entered is displayed on the customer's    invoice and is limited to 30 alphanumeric characters.
    What do I need to eliminate in the HTML code? And is there a way to programatically remove all the extra spaces?
    Thank-you,
    Michelle

    I think your problem is because you are generating to a network drive. You should generate to a local drive and publish to a network drive.
    I changed your start page in the project you sent to index.htm as I don't like having a start page with the same name as a topic and generated to a local drive.
    Works fine. Correct formatting.
    Also I would avoid spaces in a CSS file name.

  • Any Issues Upgrading from Word 2003 to 2007?

    Hello. We have the option in my department to upgrade from
    Word 2003 to Word 2007. My team still has some help projects in
    RoboHelp for Word. Before we decide to upgrade, I was wondering if
    anyone else using RoboHelp 7 (for Word) has upgraded to Microsoft
    Word 2007, and if they have encountered any issues. Thanks for any
    input.

    Thanks for all the helpful feedback, everyone. Here's an
    update, just fyi. I loaded Office 2007 today, and seem to be
    encountering one of the issues described by David Hurlston. When I
    try to create a new popup, it takes a little over one minute for
    the Insert Popup window to appear. Then when I select the topic to
    which I want to link and click OK, it takes another 10 seconds or
    so for the link to appear.
    I also received the "Microsoft Office Word has encountered a
    problem and needs to close" error five times in the past hour, when
    just trying to add new topics. I ran Microsoft Office Diagnostics,
    and it was unable to diagnose the cause of the crash. I'm using
    RoboHelp for Word 7.0, Build 7.02.001. (I have the full Adobe
    Technical Communication Suite with all of the latest updates
    installed, and just loaded Office 2007 today, along with all of the
    latest Windows and Office updates.)
    This is the perfect time for our team to upgrade to Office
    2007 since we're at the very beginning of a release, so I'm going
    to continue testing to see if I can figure out why it's a bit
    sluggish and why it's crashing. I just wanted to follow up on my
    original post in case any of this info is helpful.
    On a semi-related note... I'm usually pretty good about
    finding my way around in new user interfaces, but it took me about
    ten minutes to figure out how to access the Insert Popup window
    (due to the new Word UI). If anyone knows of a handy reference
    guide for people upgrading to RoboHelp for Word 2007, let me know.
    I checked the LiveDocs for RoboHelp for Word, but the version I
    found currently contains the old icons I'm used to. (I'm hoping to
    find some type of quick reference that explains where to find
    things that have moved and/or changed icons. I found a great
    interactive tool on Microsoft's site, but it seems to be specific
    to Word docs, without addressing the RoboHelp-specific options.)
    Thanks again for all the input!

  • Considering upgrading from RH6 to RH9...

    I am considering upgrading from RoboHelp 6 to RH9; I have 40+ projects merged into a main project -- will they present a problem?
    thanx,
    Lon

    In the words of the younger set: "Duh!" Okay, silly question; what should have asked was:
    Do I open RH 9, then open each of these projects, one at a time, to upgrade them?  (Maybe this is a silly question, too.)

  • Upgrading from old versions

    A colleague and I have just received new PC's. They came with
    Microsoft Office 2003 pre-installed. Previously we were using
    Robohelp 2002 with MS Office 97. When I tried to install RH2002 on
    our new PC's it failed as the new MS Office was incompatible. So,
    we purchased upgrades to RH6. When I tried to install the upgrades
    that fails because we don't have an old version of RoboHelp
    installed. The installer prompts for a serial number/key for RH X5,
    which we don't have. I spoke to Adobe Tech support who said I
    needed to talk to Customer Support, who said I should talk to Tech
    Support......
    At the moment I can't install my old RH because of MS Office
    2003, so I can't upgrade to RH6 which I need to support MS Office
    2003. Has anyone ecountered a similar problem in the past? What it
    Adobe provide as the solution?
    TIA
    Mick Mathers

    They don't have X5 Colum.
    Mick, you could be in trouble here. You can upgrade from any
    version. I am not sure if you have to go via Support if it is
    earlier than X5 but the issue here is that you don't have your 2002
    serial number to start with. The link below tells you what to do
    but because your version is outside the parameters, it maybe that
    Adobe cannot help you if you did not register.
