Hi,
The following link shows its specs:
   http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01968363
You can't upgarde CPU unless changing motherboard (= buying new machine). You can't upgrade RAM to 2Gb because it only supports 1Gb of RAM, max.

    hi
does anybody know of a way to upgrade the old mac minis to work with the new intel chips as i can't afford to get a new mac mini? please let me know

    In one word, no.
The architectures are not the same. You have to follow the same upgrade cycle Mac users have used for decades, and replace whole machine.
You can always try and sell your current one, people seem to pay crazy prices for old Macs.

  • Mini 210-2007sl memory upgrade

    Hello Sirs,
I wanted to upgrade my Mini 210-2007sl to 2Gb. The original memory was marked:
    ELPIDA 1Gb 1Rx8 PC3-10600S-9-10-B1
I supposed some "flexibility" of the hardware so I bought a Kingston KVR1333D3S9/2G, but it doesn't work (screen stays black forever)
Is this related to number of memory chips installed in the module (8 for the original module, 16 for the Kingston part) ?
Could you suggest a compatible memory from Kingston ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Mario

  • Need to Verify the Processor and Features on HP Mini 210-3000

    Hi,
I recently bought an HP mini 210-3000 netbook directly from this HP website. According to what I read here, it's supposed to have GPS capability built into the processor, and come with HP Navigator software. I've looked everywhere on the netbook, and can't find the GPS or Navigator anywhere. I've spent literally hours on the phone and chat with HP, and the support hasn't been very helpful. For example, they ran a chkdsk scan on the netbook in one of the support sessions that I let them take control of the netbook. Chkdsk? What does that have to do with GPS? Perhaps someone can explain this.
Anyway, I need a way to independently verify whether or not these features actually are on my netbook, and, if they are, how to access and configure them. My order receipt say that the processor is an "Intel(R) Atom(TM) Processor N455 (1.66GHz, 512KB L2 + Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 3150." This info is copied directly from my receipt.
So the way it's been left as of Tuesday aftenoon is that I was told that HP needs to do further research, and that I won't have an answer for one or two days. If they can't help me, I'm really stuck b/c I need the netbook to be working on Friday.
Can anyone help me query the netbook to find out if this is indeed processor I have, and then to find out if the GPS and Navigator are embedded?
Also, can someone help me verify that 210-3000 is a valid HP model number?. Most other listings for the 210 netbook that I have seen have letters after the 3000, like Mini 210-3000 XXX XX, and mine doesn't. I also don't find the model number 3000, but only model numbers like 300x or 30xx. The 3000 seems to indicate the series number, and not refer to a specific model number.
I do want to say that I'm not very technical, but my would appreciate any info anyone might be able to provide, even if it is technical. I'll do my best to sort it out.
I also want to say to anyone from HP who might be monitoring this forum, that I am very, very disappointed in the support I've received :-(, and I need to get this resolved by the weekend for a special project that I can't postpone. Can you assist me, or tell me where to go for assistance?
    Can anyone help?
    Regards,
    Jaina

I cannot find specs for that specific model but did find this page, does not look like it has GPS,

Look in Device Manager to see what hardware is listed.

  • Hp mini 210 1010nr video card upgrade

i wanted to upgrade the video card? is this possible? also different people tell me i can upgrade to 2 gigs but others say 4g on the laptop? i also wanted to put windows xp professional on it and not use the windows 7 starter....if anyone has a bit if information please help

    Hi:
2 GB is max on your notebook.
Here is the processor spec direct from Intel. Note the max memory size is 2 GB.
    http://ark.intel.com/products/42503/Intel-Atom-Processor-N450-(512K-Cache-1_66-GHz)
You cannot upgrade the video adapter. It is soldered to the motherboard.
There is only one system board, so there isn't even another motherboard available with better video.
In order to install XP you need to slipstream the SATA AHCI driver.
Read this helpful guide below. Read the Intel section. Then use the guide to slipstream all of the drivers.
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on-0x000000...
And being the nice guy that I am, I have attached the drivers you need to slipstream to get XP installed.

  • I have an older macbook pro os x 10.5.8 , processor 2.4ghz intel core 2 duo 2gb . Can I upgrade it and is it worth doing?

i have an older macbook pro os x 10.5.8 , processor 2.4ghz intel core 2 duo 2gb . Can I upgrade it and is it worth doing?

    Yes. Here's the information:
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
Only you can decide if it's worth doing.

  • Mini 210 Upgrade to Win 8-IT WILL NOT

I have asked this question in many forums including MS and even an HP employee responded and disappeared when I confirmed the question and problem. Does anybody know if indeed any current purchase of an HP Mini 210 will not be able to utilize the metro interface in WIn 8 when released if the screen resolution maintain at X600 since the consumer preview currently requires 700+? I truly would have never purchased a notebook that would be so close to an OS upgrade and not able to take advantage of the features that are pretty much supposed to be designed for that line of product.
Thanks for any info that can be provided-

Unfortunately, that didn't work. I uninstalled all versions of Firefox, and deleted the Mozilla / Firefox program folders. Then I tried to install the newest Firefox version with no success. Here's what happens: 1. The install completes succesfully. 2. When I go to start firefox, I get an hourglass for a few seconds, and then nothing.
When I start firefox with the Task Manager running, I can see Firefox.exe running for a few seconds between 39-50% CPU. But, then that stops after a few seconds.
Something else that is interesting: I can force firefox 8 to run when I click on a hyperlink from MS Excel. I just can't run it from the start menu, desktop, or taskbar. After I start Firefox with the hyperlink, I am successfully able to start a new session (not tab) from the taskbar.

  • KVM-Intel on Intel Atom Processors?

I am thinking about getting one of the new netbooks with an Intel Atom processor. I know some processors do not support the KVM modules and am wondering if I will be able to use the KVM-Intel moduel on a netbook with an Intel Atom processor so I can run qem-kvm... Has anyone else tried this or does anyone else know?
And for a second question: what about the ARM processors? Can I use intel-kvm, amd-kvm, or some alternate module if I go that route?

If the processor supports virtualization technology (they all have different names for it), it should work (I think). I don't think there's any ARMs that do support virtualization.

Hello yoyo5.  I understand you're having trouble booting after installing new RAM.
What are the specifications of your new RAM?  It is possible it is incompatible with the motherboard.

  • Brightness doesn't work in Windows 7 on Mini 210 HD

    Hi,
I've bought a Mini 210 HD a month or two ago, and i promptly removed XP to put Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit) on it. This has worked more or less OK, but ever since upgrading i have been unable to use the brightness functions of the lap-top in any way. Not only can i not adjust the brightness with the hot keys, Windows will not dim the screen when i remove it from the mains or leave it to idle, and although i can move the brightness slider in the Power Options control panel, it has no effect. (Currently it is on the lowest setting in Windows, but the hardware is still on maximum brightness.)
I have re-installed the Intel chip-set drivers and the HP keyboard drivers a half-dozen times, these don't seem to be the problem. There is also nothing relevant listed in Windows Update, and there are no problem devices listed in Device Manager.
Is there anything i can do about this?
    configuration:
    HP Mini 210 HD
    Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit)
    Intel GMA 3150 driver 8.14.10.1972
    Microsoft x86 ACPI driver 6.1.7600.16385

Alrighty, Here ya go! I had this problem also. Got my HP mini 210HD and put Windows 7 on it right away. Brightness wouldn't change, function keys didn't work, brightness slider did nothing.
    Solution:
Make sure you download the graphics drivers from HP's website, not Intel's. The brightness setting won't work with the Intel graphics drivers.
Get "Intel Mobile Graphics Driver for Microsoft Windows 7" from HP's website.
    I have Windows 7 32bit, so I downloaded this: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-78614-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...
This should work for you Ohkine.
