Upgrade iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1.2

I've helped a friend with her iPhone 5.
After upgrading to iOS 7.1.2 and reboot the iPhone don't start up it get stuck with showing the white Apple logo.
I tried using both the recovery mode and the DFU mode in iTunes to restore/reset the iPhone but the problem still remains.
(The iPhone goes through the upgrade/reset phase showing the usal progress bar on the iPhone.)
I then donwgraded to 7.1.1 using iTunes holding the shift key (Windows) and clicking the upgrade button and selecting the ipsw file for 7.1.1 which I've downloaded.
After the iPhone reboot the problem remains i.e. only the Apple logo shows up.
I then disconnected the iPhome and let it discharge compleatly.
Then I connected the iPhone to iTunes and after the iPhone have charged enough it started up in the same state a new iPhone and it works OK.
I then upgraded to 7.1.2 and the old problem came back i.e. only the logo.
Doing downgrade to 7.1.1 give me once again a working iPhone.
Both me and my wife are using iPhone 5s and had problem while upgrading to 7.1.2. A hard reset (home and power) solved the problem.
These upgrades were done directly in our iPhones.
The iPhone having the problem have sn C39JTC3YF39C model MD662KS/A.
Do you know what could be the problem and what to do about it?

Your attempt to downgrade the iOS, which is not supported by Apple, could have caused some of the issues. You may have to place the device in recovery mode. The support document will explain that to you.

I'm happy to say that I solved the problem, and for the community (for the "next generation" that will search a solution for this problem) - I will publish the solution for this problem : I defined as new iphone, and then the restore showed up!

3. if it doesnt automatically ask u to update ur phone . click on summary and then click update
4. ensure that u backup ur data before updating.
5. click on download and install.

No. iOS 6.1.6 is the end of the line for the iPhone 3GS.

After upgrade iphone 4 to ios 5.01 itunes don't install some apps.

After upgrade iphone 4 to ios 5.0.1 itunes don't install many apps (ibooks too).
I try to delete them from itunes, download again and sinc with iphone, but it fail with the same message: "app_name Failed to install".
Only some Apps were correctly installed (about 1 every 8 apps).
The only way to install apps with errors is to download them directly from iphone. How to resolve this iusse?
I can't download again all apps from iphone.
Itunes is the lastest version and the Pc is on windows 7.
I had some trouble to upgrade to ios 5 (error 1 and 37 and so on) because security problem on win 7, but I relsoved them.

See if you can force the phone into recovery mode:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

if your computer is not recognizing it, try using a different USB port or different usb cable. if that doesnt work you will need to uninstall and reinstall itunes.

I attempted to upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1.1. I selected 'back up' from the phone in the device menu and iTunes confirmed that the phone had been backed up. I then installed iOS 5.1.1 which wiped everything on the phone & now I am getting the error "iTunes could not restore the iPhone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone that is being restored".
I have tried restoring factory settings but iTunes simply will not restore from back up & I'm not sure what else to do!
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have the same issue and I KNOW my backup IS good. What happen is when you try to restore your phone apple says something like can I check for new updates and if you choose no, it just takes you back to the restore screen and a loop from then on. If you dont update from you phone then when you back up you will have the 5.0.1 back up and then when you update to 5.1.1 and then try to restore the backup from 5.0.1 it say it EITHER corrupt or incompatible.. It is incompatible and its hard as **** to restore back to 5.0.1. I followed the restore to a T and still getting errors. I lost all text history and have to reset up email. All just because I wanted a 1.2 Gigs of "other" space back.

If you know for certain it is True Factory Unlock, eveything will be fine. If not factory unlocked you will find out during or shortly after the Restore by iTunes.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

How can I fix no sound problem during calls since I have upgraded iphone 4 to ios 7?

Since I have upgraded my iphone 4 to ios 7, I am practicing too much problems regarding to sound:
- playing music has no sound at the same time no sound in during phone calls unless I open the speaker.
- sometimes sound in music and phone calls comes back for short period and then same problem occuring again.
I think and I beleave it is software problem and I feel that ios 7 have killed my iphone.
any one has any idea how to solve the problem or downgrading back to ios6

If you happen to have an older Mac then it may not support the newest iTunes (11.1), and as such will not support using that computer to do your iOS 7.02 update. If that is your situation and you don't want to purchase a new Computer, perhaps you have regular access (Family or Close Friends) that you would have regular and assured access to their Computer. A Windows PC or Mac will do, but it must be capable of supporting iTunes 11.1.
Putting the new iOS 7.02 on your iPhone 4 should not slow-down your iPhone. You will get some new features, but not all features available to users with Newer iPhone Models. It is always a good idea to be on the most current release for support reasons, if possible.
The important thing is that if you upgrade, you will need to have a clear plan to keep your iPhone, iTunes and iCloud (if you use it) all synced.
