Upgrade ST-PI on a Solution Manager 7.0

Hi All,
I am upgrading on a Solman 7.0 SPS12 the ST-PI SAP Solution Plug-In 2005_1_700 to version 2008_1_700 via SAINT.
This process take a while, running for the moment since 3 hours. The last update of log files SLOG.SID and ALOG.* has be done one hour after the beginning of the process.
The system is slow and I can see with ta/SM50 a report called SAPMS38L deleting records in the table D010INC.
My question is, is it normal this kind of upgrade took so much time?
Bye
Yves

Yves,
Thanks a lot for your feedback.
Indeed, it took a while to finish with success, process has been complete after 4 hours.
Cheers
Yves

  • Upgrade ASAP roadmap content in Solution Manager

    Hello,
Does anyone of you know how to upgrade the ASAP roadmap content in solution manager?
Current we have solution manager 4.0, SP12. The version of the ASAP roadmap content is V3.6 (Dec. 2006). We currently found from the service marketplace the lastest ASAP implementation roadmap (V3.7)
    https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/roadmaps.
Is it possible to somehow "upload" this new version into Solution Manager roadmap to replace the older version? Or how should we get the roadmap content upgraded?
    Many thanks for your input!!
    Regards,
    Li

It is delivered in ST-ICO SAP Solution Manager Implementation Cont. Ver 3.6 is in SP11, I would imagine V3.7 is in SP 13.
You would have to up your service pack or use the standalone one until then.

  • Solution Manager 3.2 upgrade to version 7.0

    Hello All,
I am in the Solution Manager 3.2 upgrade to version 7.0.
In phase IS_SELECT "Upgrade Assistant" asks to add a few files update
components (Attachment: screens). Two of them (ST-SER and CPRXRPM) I
    managed to find and read.
However, in the SAP Service Marketplace I can not find the new Add-On'ów:
    ST and ST-ICO.
    (For example:
    ST - 400,
    ST-ICO - 150_700)
Can I skip them in this step and leave the current versions?:
    ST  - 320 level 19
    ST-ICO  - 150_620 level 10
    Best regards,

Those are part of the normal "upgrade" package - I wonder which DVDs you used to start the upgrade...
    SAP Solution Manager 4.0 Upgrade (2) 1 of 11
    etc.
Are you trying to do a Netweaver upgrade? This won't work...

  • Is it a must to use Solution manager for ECC 6.0 upgrade

Is it a must to use Solution Manager for ECC 6.0 (FICO & HR) upgrade? I am told Solution Manager is required only if it has ABAP and JAVA stacks, or involves Enhancement Packages; and could be optional if it is only ECC 6.0 with ABAP stacks.

    Hi,
I'm having a difficult time finding some guidance for setting up our R/3 Enterprise system in solman properly, so that I can create the upgrade XML file required to go directly to ERP 6.0 EHP4.
I've set up the R/3 system fine, but when i create a maintenance transaction i cannot for the life of me figure out how to tell it I want to go from r/3 to ERP6 ehp4.
Any docs out there for this?
    Thanks!
I figured it out... i had to add the R/3 Enterprise logical components to my system landscape.  After that I was able to select R/3 as the initial data in the maintenance transaction and then the system i wanted to upgrade, and then the option to upgrade.
    Never mind!

  • Upgrade process to SAP Solution Manager 7.1

    Hello!
We use SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 (SPS 26) and plan to upgrade to the new SAP Solution Manager 7.1.
We currently do not have Java Stack there.
    Some questions about Upgrade process
    1) Can a direct Upgrade from SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 (SPS 26)  to SAP Solution Manager 7.1 be realized?
    2) Should we first install Java Stack and then proceed with the Upgrade or otherwise?
    3) Will Windows 32 Bit and None-Unicode Version of SAP Solution Solution Manager be supported?
It will be great to get some helpful information.
    kind regards

    Hello!
    Trying to answer your question
    1)  As described in note 1244225, there no restriction to upgrade the Solman EHP1 to solman 7.1. Refer to the section:
In case you do not participate in this current Solution Manager 7.1 beta shipment there are no  restrictions for implementing now SP stack 25 and upgrading in the future to an equivilant SP stack of release 7.1."
    2)  The Solman EHP1 must always be a dual stack system, I am not sure,  how you are  running the Solman EHP1 without a Java Stack, you should have one.
    3) I am not sure if there will be a Solman 7.1 32Bit Non-UNICODE version. But,  SAP recommends to run Solution Manager on Unicode (see also customer letter on http://service.sap.com/Unicode).  At solman EHP1 there are some issues when running the system as Non_UNICODE, refer note 1383407.
I am not sure if I could clarify all your doubts.
You may check the following URL:
    http://service.sap.com/instguides
    - SAP Components
    - Solution Manager 7.1
As this is a very new software there is few documents in it, but soon you should see a upgrade guide here.

  • Solution Manager Upgrade to SPS25

    Hello,
We are preparing to upgrade our current installation of Solution Manager 7.0 to SPS25.  Is there anything we need to do with our existing maintenance and implementation projects prior to installing the upgrade?
    Thank you for your recommendations.

    Hello Cynthia,
Exactly what Release and SP Level is the system now?
Usually upgrades are pretty seemless, its migrations that creates issues.
What I would suggest is you go to http://service.sap.com/instguides
Installation & Upgrade Guides >  SAP Components > SAP Solution Manager > Release 7.0 EHP 1
Then click on #5 Upgrade Guides
You will need to locate the upgrade guide for your OS/DB, and then you will have detailed information about the process.
    This should help a lot.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • IBase When Creating a Request for Change in Solution Manager 7.1

    Hello all,
We recenlty upgraded our sandbox system to Solution Manager 7.1 SP3 and are currently investigating the new ChaRM functionality with the new CRM UI. Our company had configured ChaRM back in 2007 and has been working very well since the initial delivery.
While I was following the Request for [Change process simulation from RKT|https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000478022011E/index.htm] on our sandbox system, I had noticed that the iBase and Component that we have  created in transaction IB52 prior to the upgrade were not showing in our search when we were defining the Change Request Scope section. In the documentation that I have read leading up to the upgrade, there have been no mention of the iBase/Component data becoming invalid post-upgrade nor have I found a conversion process.  I have done a search here on SDN and on SAP Notes to see why the iBase and Components were not showing up.
Has anybody encountered this issue since the upgrade to 7.1 or is there something I need to do in IB52 in order for the iBase/Component in the new CRM GUI?
Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
yes in 7.0 it worked for me too, that is because in 7.0 ChaRM searched for projects based on the IBase you selected.
If there were more than one project where this system is involved you got a pop up where to chose your project.
In 7.1 you chose the project directly, instead of let the system search for you.
And depending on what productive-systems are in this project you get your Ibase list.
If you don't select a project at all you will still get a list of all Ibases in your system.
Iif you ask the SAP, they will allways tell you that you have to have a productive system in your project, at least as you pointed out with a virtual system.
I did not read i t though and therfore ca nnot provide any sources.
This is all based on my experiences.
    Best Regards
    Daniel

  • Need Pre_requisites to install Solution Manager in Solaries 9 and Oracle 10

    Hi Administrators,
In my project, we have planned to implement Solution Manager 7.0 in O/S Solaries 9 and Database Oracle 10.2.
We are implementing this Solution Manager in already existing SAP server.
We have server like TSAPNGN, In this server already our QAS ECC 5.0 and QAS BW 3.5 are exist and running in this server.
I need information like, What is the pre_requisites to install SAP application, where already another SAP exist in Server.
    Appreciate ur help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jagan.

    Hello
There is no difference whether you are installing the Solution Manager on a separate server or an existing server already containing the DEV system. you will get some idea from these Notes
21960 Several instances/systems on one UNIX computer
28392 Two R/3 Systems on one Windows NT Server
322653 DB6: Two or several systems on a host
I think, you should go for Central System installtion for the Solman, with it's own database.
and what do you mean by 'standalone solman' here ?
Just go 'installation and upgrades' -> My application components -> SAP Solution Manager -> Solman 7.0 or EHp1 -> Installation and upgrades
    For installation guide
installation and upgrade guiedes -> SAP components -> SAP Solution manager -> Select solman version

  • Latest SP for Solution Manager

    Hi,
I have SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SR3 DVD. I am not able to find what SP Stack it is on and what should be the latest I should download now.
When I check in System Status of solman server it shows ...
SAP BASIS on Patch Level 0012 &
SAP ABAP on Patch Level 0012.
    and in Java side i see : sap.com/SAP-JEECOR  7.00 SP12
If my SP Stack is SP12 then what is the latest I should upgrade to.
I am not able to find SR3 on Solman Stack Schedule.

    Hi,
The lastest installation packages you will find at:
service.sap.com/swdc -> Installations and Upgrades -> SAP Technology Components ->  SAP SOLUTION MANAGER -> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0
    Then navigate to Installation -> <operating system> -> <database>
For the lastest support package stack available, go to :
service.sap.com -> Support Packages and Patches -> SAP Technology Components -> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER -> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0
Then navigate to Support Package Stacks -> Support Package Stacks. This will bring you a selection screen for the desired support package stack start/target.
The schedule for the stacks can be obtained at :

  • Solution Manager 32 bit or 64 bit

    Hi,
My company will soon be starting an ERP 2004 upgrade and we are installing Solution Manager on a separate Windows server as part of this. We will be installing 64 bit ERP 2004 on a UNIX platform so my question is, does it matter whether we install 32 bit or 64 bit Solution Manager? Are there any problems running a 32 bit installation of Solution Manager against a 64 bit installation of ERP 2004?
My gut feeling is that there won't be an issue, but I would appreciate confirmation of this.
Thanks in advance for any information.
    Rob Davis.
    SAP Configuration Manger.

    Hi Rob,
You can install the Solution Manager either 32 bit or 64 bit based on your hardware (for example if you decide to install Solution manager on unix server 64 bit kernel, then you have to go for Solution Manager 64 bit).
It doesn't matter which Solution Manager(i.e either 32 bit or 64 bit version) you are using for monitoring either 32 bit or 64 bit satellite systems (here 'satellite system' means the system either ERP 2004 or any system which you are going to monitor thru your Solution Manager)
    Hope this clarrifies your question

  • What is sap solution manager

    hi all,
    i m vikas saini. i am a sap tecnical consultant(abap).
pls tell me what is sap solution manager.
how it's work and how i can useful for me.
and how i can learn it by selfstudy.
or it required some special training.
    thanks and regards
    vikas saini.

    Hi,
Solution Manger is a central platform for all solutions.
Its a Support hub and gateway between SAP serivce market and the customer.
It helps in providibg tools, content, procedures, services to implement and operate the SAP solutions.
It helps in improving the IT services for a business and reduce the Downtimes to reduce the production loss.
It also helps in facing and solving technical risks.
Initially to upgrade the SAP related softwares Solution manager was not in need, but in the Netweaver level to upgrade Solution manager is a must decided but SAP at Germany.
So in a landscape Solution manager is also installed in a separate system and oneside connected to servicemarket and otherside to the landscape at your place.
Its mostly related to Basis Part of SAP.
I think this would give you an idea of what is SolMan.
    Reward if useful.

  • Applying support packs in ECC6.0 through solution manager

    Hi,
Can you explain me how we can configure to apply a support pack in ECC 6.0 (Dev, Quality & Production) through solution manager.
For that 4.0 is enough or it should be upgraded to 7.0

    Mohammed,
    1. First, You have to configure Maintenance Optimizer in Solution Manager.
    2. Then create the systems in SMSY.
    3. Finally create solution for each system in DSWP, Apply support packages to the systems ECC6.0(DEV, QAS and PRD).
