Upgrade to Premiere Elements 8.0?

I recently purchased Photoshop Elements 8.0. It had a 30 day trial version bundled with it for Premiere Elements 8.0 which I installed. I have used it enough to now want to upgrade (as offered for I believe $49.95) but can find no way to do this from inside either program or on the Adobe website. Does anyone have an idea how to go about this? I have explored the website, to no avail and there appears to be no way (as with other software) from within the trial version to purchase/upgrade.

Well it seems that others have the program for a lot less then Adobe (especially on an "upgrade").

This only serves to show me that Adobe is not only untrustworthy, but doesn't stand by its word. If you are an Adobe employee, you should pass along this tidbit of knowledge. Since this is my first experience with Adobe, it doesn't bode well for the future.
I have been involved with computers and software for over 28 years and if you are going to offer an "upgrade" it should be at a drastically reduced price since the person has already shown confidence in you company and purchased your product, as opposed to someone looking for a "freebie." In every instance, when I have been offered an upgrade it has been at a price that is way reduced from retail since I was already a "loyal customer."
Sorry if it seems as if this is directed toward you (since you are an Adobe employee). I, in no way, intend this to be pejorative or angry, just instructive, and hopefully it will be passed on to your merchandising department.

im allgemeinen reicht es, wenn Du die "Voreinstellungen" nach den gespeicherten Arbeiten (von PS "Dateien genannt") durchkämmst (dieses "C:\_stick" ist nur als Beispiel gedacht und hat mit Deinem Verzeichnis nichts zu tun):
Zur Sicherheit kannst Du noch Deine Festplatte nach Deinen Projekten durchsuchen. Hilfreich neben der WIN "Suchen"-Funktion sind die üblichen Dateimanager (WIN-Explorer, NortonCommander, SpeedComander o. ä.).

There is no reliable answer to your question at this time.
Here is the problem as I see it.
1. At the release of the news version, Adobe has in the past announced free switch over from prior to new version within a defined grace period. But, I recall that being only when the purchases are from Adobe direct. Not sure if that would still be the case now.
2. If you purchase from Amazon (even if Amazon is labeled officially as authorized reseller), I suspect that you will have to inquire directly with Amazon about its exchange policies.
Since your planned purchase is from Amazon, why not give its Customer Service a telephone call to inquire about its exchange policies as it relates to your situation?

Does upgrading from Premiere Elements 12 to 13 solve the Organizer thumbnail problem?

Thumbnails do not show up after importing clips into Premiere Elements 12 Organizer. I've tried right clicking on a clip and telling it to recreate the thumbnail but it doesn't work. I've tried refreshing and repairing the catalog. I've even started a new catalog and reimported the files. The system says it's creating thumbnails but they still do not show up. Does upgrading from Premiere Elements 12 to 13 solve the Organizer thumbnail problem?

That is one of those questions best answered by evaluating Elements Organizer13 with your specific files in your specific computer environment.
Each of the Elements Organizer versions often appears to carry along its own baggage.
One of the things that came up about Elements Organizer 13 thumbnails recently was a problem with files with MPEG2
video compression. The Adobe word on this was that this is only an Elements Organizer 13 tryout issue...supposed not to exist
in the purchased version.

It is there. In 13, look under Create in the Expert and Quick workspaces. And, once you update from 13 to 13.1 using an opened projects Help Menu/Update, you
will see an extra location for the feature - right in front of you in the main panel.

Upgraded to Premiere Elements 12 and unlimited storage .. Elements program cannot find the catalog.

Upgraded to Premiere Elements 12 and unlimited storage per Adobe staff, only problems since. Once I got catalog to properly start loading to Revel the new software wrongly messaged was that it was completely up to date. Now when i tried to start Elements program cannot find the catalog. I am the type person that am willing to pay to get this resolved so who do I call? I am doing this as a hobby and this is not fun etc... many useless unpleasant hours.

The video itself is NOT blocked - you can view it on a computer -- but when you try to view it on ipad/iphone the message says, "not available on this platform". CPU and Motherboard upgrade for Premiere Elements 11

Hi all. Been perusing the Premiere Elements and Pro forums but still have a few questions.
I’m upgrading Premiere Elements from PrE9 to PrE11 and am upgrading some of my desktop’s hardware at the same time. I could use some advice about choosing a CPU, graphics card, and motherboard. The goal of this upgrade is to considerably speedup transcoding without breaking the bank. The budget’s a bit flexible but I’d like to keep it at or under $500 for the motherboard/CPU combo.
The computer will be used for editing and transcoding AVCHD videos. The videos are shot in either 1080i or 1080p using a Panasonic HDC-TM700.
I’m processing about 2-3 hours of video per week and my current system takes a long time to transcode. For example, it takes well over 3 hours to convert 1 hour of AVCHD video to wmv. An Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 with 3 GB of RAM was fine for the occasional video, but it’s too slow for what’s currently needing to be processed.
New CPU:
At this point I’m looking at the following processors:
i5 3570K
Ivy Bridge
No hyper threading
i7 2600K
Sandy Bridge
hyper threading
i7 3770K
Ivy Bridge
hyper threading
Questions:
) Does PrE11 make use of hyper threading?
) If PrE11 doesn’t use hyper threading is there much of anything to be gained by getting the i7? The i5 is about $90- $100 cheaper than the i7 CPUs and seems pretty quick.
New Motherboard:
I’ve had good luck overclocking Asus motherboards, so I’m leaning towards getting another one, but am open to alternatives.
The choice of board will depend mainly on Intel’s northbridge chip:
Ivy Bridge – Z77 chip
Sandy Bridge – Z68 chip
Question:
) Are there any other northbridge chip/CPU combos I should be looking at?
Current Graphics Card:
nVidia Geforce 8400 GS 512 MB DDR2
Drivers are up to date and downloaded from nVidia.
Question:
) Since PrE11 doesn’t use the graphics card’s GPU, will it be okay to continue using this card for the new build? I’m not a gamer and this card works just fine for the current build.

PSU: Seasonic X660
HDD: Four 1TB 7200 rpm drives
Memory: 16 GB DDR3 RAM
OS: Win7 64 bit or Win8 64 bit (haven’t decided yet whether to go with Win 7 or 8)

I have been going through the same process. Yes PE does support multiple threads and definatley go with the ivybridge i7 cpu. Asus is also the board I'm going with. They have made OCing much easier but be careful of high temps that leads to early failure of the cpu . Most of them let you have a maximum of 32 gig of ram and with memory so cheap check out upgrading to a higher grade memory. This can be overclocked as well. One of the ivy bridge cpus has 6 cores but cost $500 plus and requires a more expensive MB as well. too expensive for me though. I believe the built in graphics processor in the i7 k series the HD4000 is enough for PE. For about $650 I got an i7 at Microcenter for $229 and I think they just lowered the price to $200 an Asus MB at Newegg for $140 and 16gig ram for $70 also check out SSD drives in the 128 gig range are about $100 which you could use for you C: drive maybe take it up to 256 gig for more. They are getting pretty cheap

Upgrading from Premiere Elements 7 to 9 - compatibility problems

I have recently upgraded Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements from versions 7 to 9. In slideshows created in version 7 there is a problem in Premiere Elements version 9.   Perfectly OK in V7, when using the Sceneline to view a slideshow only part of the project can be seen. In a slideshow of 300 slides, when scrolling right as far as it will go, only the first 60 or so slides can be seen. I have contacted Adobe support but their "solutions" have made no difference.
Can anyone help?

They did not seem to understand the problem.   I sent them a screen print
but I still did not receive a reasonable solution. They asked me to
download another version of NVIDIA, change the Premiere preferences, change the
3D settings, switch off GPU playback, recreate PluginCaches, disable
graphics hardware acceleration.   All of this had not affect on the problem
whatsoever. I have also reinstalled Premiere Elements twice - no effect!
In the past I have had versions 5 and 7 with no problems with the
upgrades.   Upgrading from 7 to 9 has been very problematical and I will think
twice before upgrading again in the future. I think that there is a problem
with Premiere Elements itself and all this interfering with graphics software
is a waste of time and "passing the buck".

The full Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements suite is often the best "deal," and also some retailers may well have the full product(s) at even lower prices, than Adobe offers, under the name of an "upgrade."

I have Premiere Elements 11 now and want to upgrade to 13 (getting a new computer / OS). I've read that there is an upgrade price those who use previous versions to 13. Everywhere I look it seem it's around the same price.. no special price mention for anyone using previous versions.
Is there a link somewhere that I'm just not seeing?

Exit error after upgrade to Premiere Elements 13.1

Since upgrading to version 13.1 I get the message "Adobe Premiere Elements 13 has stopped working" when I exit the program. This was not happening in Premiere Elements 13 prior to the upgrade. Any ideas?E

What computer operating system is involved?
How long did you work with Premiere Elements 13 before you did the update to 13.1? Did you do the update with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
At this time, does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
As a first pass at this, let us try deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file.

and in the 13.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 13.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives enabled so that you can see the complete path given.
If on Mac, I believe the path to the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file is

How do i upgrade from premiere elements 12 to 13?

I'm on a Macbook Air, Mountain Lion. I just downloaded the new version of Premiere Elements.
Do I need to uninstall 12? Will my presets carry over to 13? Are there any files or folders I should back up first?

Premiere Elements 12 and 13 are standalone programs. If you install Premiere Elements 13, you do not need to deactivate/uninstall 12. Just use one program at a time. In 12, you should be able to deactivate the program in an opened project's Help Menu/Sign Out. I am strictly an Elements Windows user and that is the Windows way, assumed Mac way as well.
It is always a good idea to finish projects started in an earlier version in the earlier version. There is no guarantee that the earlier version project file will open in the later version program. It probably will, but no guarantees. If you do this, work from a copy of the earlier version project as a safety net.
Do not move, delete, or rename folders/files that were imported into a project after the project has been saved closed.
If you have any doubts about project file links to source media, then archive the version 12 project involved...File Menu/Project Archiver/Archive Project or Copy Project options. I would go with Copy Project option.
Please let us know if any questions or need clarification.

Upgraded to Premiere Elements 11 from 9 - now video uploaded to Youtube won't play on iPad or iPhone

I just upgraded yesterday from Elements 9 to 11 (for Mac) -- and uploaded a "highlight video" from my daughter's Lacrosse match (just as I have done for the past several weeks) to Youtube.. When I try to view it on my iPad, it shows that the video cannot be played on the device. I had no problems uploading from Elements 9 -- and 11 touts that the uploading process is "even easier"..
Any suggestions?? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

There is no guarantee that a project created in an earlier version can be opened in a later one. Many times it can, but...
If you do try this, then please consider working from a copy of the project 10 project file and then trying to open that in 13/13.1.
Reason: projects created in an earlier version and then opened and edited in a later version cannot be opened again in the
earlier version.
And, there is always the issue of maintaining the connect of the source media with the project file. Is this move from 10 to 13/13.1
happening on the same computer and are the source media in the same place where they were when they were first imported
into the 10 project. Disc menus consideration may enter into this depending on your details.
