    Hi Arun,
Its really great that you want to move and upgrade old Exchange to new Exchange server. The manual steps and guide is already recommended to you.
Moreover, I would like to recommend you to use an automated tool to upgrade your Exchange server 2007 to exchange 2013.  I have tried and test tool to do Exchange Migration 2007 to 2013. You can follow the link
http://www.exchange2007to2013migration.exchangemigrationtool.com/. It will also help you to do Intra-Cross forest migration if you required.
Hopefully my recommendation will surely help you.
    Thanks,

    Check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.

I have my main desktop I use for setting up my new iPad2.  Syncs fine, but when I tried to update to ios5, keep getting message that ipad update server is not available, check internet connection.  Itunes sees the internet, because it allows me to connect to the istore .. etc. Changed cables, I have tried it with firewall on, and firewall off .. makes no difference.  The test shows no connection, but you can see by the diagnostics that it did connect.

  • Upgrading Mail from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8 Server - Help Needed, Please

    Hi
I posted a message a few weeks back with regard to this topic, but have had no replies. I don't seem to be any further on in solving this on my own, so I'm posting again in the hope that someone will be able to assist.
I have an Xserve G4 running 10.3.9 which is a Open Directory Master, PDC and also acts as a Mail Server for our domain. The system software is installed on one 60gb drive in the Xserve and the Mail Store is on a second drive. All the Windows clients can log into the domain and their mail is on IMAP using Outlook as their client.
I am now installing a second server in another office, and obviously this will be a new XServe running 10.4. I would like to make this an Open Directory Replica but now need to upgrade the first server to 10.4 before I can do this.
Each attempt has been at the start of a weekend when staff have gone home, so that I can shutdown Mail and clone the Mail Store before proceeding.
My first attempt was to install a new 10.4 installation onto a drive module and then attempt to upgrade the Mail. I removed the original 10.3.9 startup drive and I cloned the mail store drive before attempting and then followed the instructions given in this article:-
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301656
When running the first part of this script, I get a socket error and don't seem to be able to get beyond this point.
Next, I atttempted a straightforward upgrade. To do this, I again cloned the Mail Store onto another Drive Module, and so that I could roll back in case of problems, I also cloned the startup drive. Once this was done, I then removed the original drives for safety, booted and proceeded to upgrade the Server software from 10.3.9 to 10.4 performing all updates along the way.
When I first booted, I had quite a lot of errors, DNS zones hadn't come over, and I had to kerberize the system, but after doing this and several restarts to cure other problems, all seemed to be OK, but then when I invoked Windows services and tried to log into the domain from a PC client, it failed saying the Domain Controller wasn't available, and the server log shows "Broken Pipe" errors and I cannot seem to resolve these issues. Server admin, also now loses connection with various services at intermittant times and I have to reboot.
So, my conclusion is that the 10.3.9 installation on this server is way too flaky to be upgraded and I must find another way.
Ideally, what I would like to do, is install a brand new 10.4 system onto the server, setting up DNS, Open Directory etc etc ensuring that my clients can log into the domain (copying their profile to the new account if necessary) and then upgrade the Mail once it is all stable. Can anyone help me with this by giving me a step by step guide? I am willing to pay for someone who knows how to do this if they can help me with a guide or perhaps even provide remote assistance.
    Thanks in advance
    Paul
    PowerBook G4 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   G4 Xserve 1GHz, 1.5GB RAM, 10.3.9 Server

They've never heard of a G4? That's shocking, perhaps you shouldn't go there anymore :P.
OS X 10.5 requires at least an 867 MHz G4, unfortunately. You can upgrade to OS X Tiger (10.4) though (Just run software update after installation to get to 10.4.11).
You can find Tiger cheap on eBay or the likes, note you must buy the full retail version which looks like this:

  • Problems in upgrading 8.1.6 to 8.1.7 on P4 WinNT Server

I have to upgrade Oracle 8.1.6 to 8.1.7 cause DB application has been updated to that version.

I did it on a test computer running with a P3 600Mhz and everything runs fine.
I started running installation on P4 1000Mhz and installation stops at 18%. I read in forums , find the bug then I restart installation and at last I got 8.1.7 running .. but migration assistant could not run cause of DB has different right on same users and internal pwd is no longer valid !

    Hi, Don,
I solved the problem of security exception I mentioned at java procedure topic as following:
ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.lang.SecurityException
I tried to use your solution as following:
    call dbms_java.grant_permission('SDE', 'java.net.SocketPermission', 'ORCL.COHPA.UCF.EDU','resolve');
but SQL*plus gave me a error message:
    invalid collumn.
    What's the problem?
However, I call a grant command as following:
    SQL> grant JAVASYSPRIV to sde;
and then that exception is gone. What's the difference between dbms_java.grant_permission and grant command?
    Thanks

    Dear All,
We have to upgrade an RPD repository file and the catalog from 10 g to 11 g. We use the Oracle Fussion Middleware Upgrade Assistant tool.

But if I open the enterprise manager the core applications under the tab Fusion Middleware are marked with red (not running)
See screen shot regarding the overview:

If I click on the Core application link the core appilcations are marked with green (they are running).

    Problem:
the core applications are displayed as down in Enterprise Manager.
I restarted the core applications in the Enterprise Manager successfully but under the tab Fussion Middleware they are still displayed as not running.
Does anybody ever had a problem like this. Thank you!

  • Upgrading Solaris 8 to Solaris 10 on SUN Sparc E2900 server

    Hi,
We have a Sparc E2900 server which has Solaris 8 & Veritas Volume Manager 4.0. UFS & VXFS filesystems are under Veritas control.
We are planning to upgrade Solaris 8 to Solaris 10.
    My questions are as follows
    1) Can we upgrade from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10 directly ?
    2) If Yes does Solaris 10 support Veritas Filesystem ?
    3) Which is the best site to get information regarding upgradation ?
    Regards,
    Tejas J Raval

    2) If Yes does Solaris 10 support Veritas Filesystem ?No, it dows not. If you want to use VxFS you still need to have Veritas products installed on this server

  • Want to upgrade 2008 R2 to 2012. Upgrade advisor giving errors relating to Database Compatability Level and Server Collation

I want to upgrade a SQL Server from 2008 R2 to 2012.  When I run upgrade advisor, I get the following error messages:
Rule "Valid Database compatibility level and successful connection" failed.
The report server database is not a supported compatibility level or a connection cannot be established.  Use Reporting Services Configuration Manager to verify the report server configuration and SQL Server management tools to verify the compatibility
    level.
Rule "Valid Database server collation and successful connection" failed.
The SQL Server Database Engine is not configured with a valid server collation and cannot be used as the Reporting Services SharePoint Shared Service catalog database.
The database called ReportServer has Collation = Latin1_General_Cl_AS_KS_WS and Compatibility level = 100

    Hi Andrew,
Regarding to the first error message, please check the Reporting Service Configuration Manager, make sure that you connect to ReportServer database from the correct server
and use servername\instancename format connection string. For more details, please review this similar
    thread.
Regarding to the second error, it is caused by that the current SQL Server Database Engine server is using an incompatible server collation.
SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services SharePoint mode utilizes the SharePoint shared services architecture. SharePoint does not support SQL Server Database Engine configured for case sensitive or server collations or binary server collations.
And since the SQL Server Database Engine server collation property cannot be changed, you will not be able to complete an upgrade of Reporting Services. You will need to migrate your Reporting Services installation to a new server which is using a compatible
server collation. For more details, please review the following article:

  • Upgrading PowerShell 2.0 to 3.0 on a Windows Server 2008 SP 2 Enterprise Certification Authority server

    Hello All:
Are there any caveats to upgrading PowerShell 2.0 to 3.0 on a customer's Certification Authority server? The customer will also be upgrading to SCCM 2012  and employ this server as a Distribution Point.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Erik,
I haven't tried to upgrade powershell on Certification Authority server, however, Windows Management Framework 3.0 requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0, and you need to change .NET version on server 2008 SP2.
For more detailed installation instruction, please follow this article:

  • Upgrading 6.1 to 7.0.2 Issues - Windows 2003 Server SP-1

Last night I attempted to upgrade our Standard version
    CFMX6.1 to MX7.0.2 on our Windows Server 2003, SP-1, and I
encountered errors consistent with those described in TechNote
    228c3aaa --
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=228c3aaa&sliceId=1.
So far, the first 3 solutions suggested by the TechNote didn't
work. During on installation attempt, I didn't have option to
install MX7 as "Server Configuration" because it was grayed out),
so I uninstalled MX7 (wanting to just get back to a working version
of 6.1). Well, that really screwed things up. My website could no
longer process .cfm files, and the CFIDE directory was complete
    gone.
So, I installed MX7 twice more...the first time with 4
errors, the second with 2. I then used the Web Server Configuration
Tool (the one included in MX7) and now my sites seem to be working,
but as 6.1...which is better than not at all.
    Here are my questions:
    1) Does the 4th solution (copying the CFusionMX7 directory
from another working server) really have a chance at working
    correctly?
    2) If it does, will MX7 know the first time I open the admin
page that this is a new upgrade, and thus walk me through the
Migration Wizard (which I really want)?
    3) What do I need to do to get my websites to run with the
MX7 extensions, rather than the MX61 like they are now --assuming I
get questions 1 and 2 answered?
I know this is a lot to read. Thanks for taking time to
    consider helping me out.

    Hi Ken,
Thanks for the response. Couple follow up questions:
As far as the migration/configuration wizard goes, here is
what I am looking to migrate:
    - Data Sources
    - custom tags
    - email server setup
    - missing template settings
    - Java and JVM -- Server Settings
I think that's it. So, given that, what would the below
adminConfig.xml need to look like? Again, I am upgrading from MX6.1
to MX7.0.2. Let me take a stab at it:
    <setupconfig>
    <runsetupwizard>true</runsetupwizard>
    <runmigrationwizard>false</runmigrationwizard>
    <runmxmigrationwizard>true</runmxmigrationwizard>
    <migratecf5>false</migratecf5>
    <migratecf6>true</migratecf6>
    <setupoptions>
    <sampleapps>false</sampleapps>
    <odbc>true</odbc>
    <enablerds>false</enablerds>
    </setupoptions>
    </setupconfig>
My second question might be irrelevant, but I am curious. The
way it is setup now, I can't get into the CF Admin page (since the
uninstall of CFMX7 removed it), but I know I am running 6.1 because
I tried to hit a test page with a <CFDOCUMENT> tag, and CF
said it didn't know what that tag was. But, when I go into IIS and
look a the Application Configuration for .cfm extensions, it has a
    mapping to C:\CFusionMX7\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll. Any
    ideas?
Thanks so much for your help.

  • Upgrade Windows 2008 R2 sp1 on an Exchange 2010 SP3 server

I have looked high and low for an answer to this question:
    1. I have Windows 2008 R2 running Exchange 2010 SP3
    2. Can I upgrade Windows 2008 R2 to SP1 with Exchange 2010 SP3 onboard?
    3. Are there pre-requisites for doing this?
    4. If so, where can I get the documentation?
I have spent hours looking through Google and Technet.  Lots of information about compatibility of 2008 R2 and Exchange SP1 and SP2.
Your wisdom and experience would be appreciated.  Thank you!!
    Charlie

    Hi,
    "Can I upgrade Windows 2008 R2 to SP1 with Exchange 2010 SP3 onboard?"
    Yes, you can.
"Are there pre-requisites for doing this?"
There is no pre-requisites, however, as what Idan Vexler mentioned above, downtime is required.
"If so, where can I get the documentation?"
Here are two related threads for your reference.

  • Upgrade guide for users of older versions of Flash Media Server?

I'm looking around to see if anyone has sort of done a crossover or upgrade guide for people with older FMS installations.
We've been running the server since at least version 2, and haven't had to change much in upgrading to subsequent versions.
In doing so, we hadn't had to change to some of Adobe's newer ways of doing things with regards to configuration files, etc.
In setting up a test 4.5.x server, though... it appears we will likely want to really change the way we are doing things.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a comprehensive site that would sort of cover topics in a "if you did this this way before, do it this way now" sort of instructions.
    Thanks

we just moved from 3.5 to 4.03 and now the sound has 'hiccups' - looked thru forum and made some changes but still happening - be nice like you said if there was a 'your using this version, and this is what you need to do in the next' area
