Upgrading Adobe Photoshop Elements
I’m considering upgrading my Adobe Photoshop Elements from Ver 11 to the new Ver 12. I have Ver 11(installation CD purchased from Best Buys) installed on my desktop and would like replace it with Ver 12. I would like to move Ver 11 to my laptop. Will Adobe allow me to do this without a charge? This question probably is best addressed by Adobe but I've searched their website and can't find the e-mail address to Adobe. Has anyone dealt with this situation or know Adobe's e-mail address?
Your license allows you to have two activated installations. So there is no problem with you having 11 installed on a different machine (or both, same with 12).

Well, you could buy the upgrade to PSE 13 from adobe, but most times it's much cheaper to buy the full version from a big box store or online retailer.

After upgrading Adobe Photoshop Elements from version 5 to version 6, pictures can not be synced. Please fix iTunes to support version 6. I have the latest itunes version 7.5.0.20 on windows.
iTunes doesn’t support syncing with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. Adobe made significant changes to the program’s internal database, which iTunes reads directly. Hacking the registry won’t work, since iTunes is expecting the older database format. Apple is finally starting to update its documents to explicitly state they only support versions 3-5, e.g.

My clumsy work-around is to export the desired photos from PSE 6 into a set of Windows folders and then sync iTunes with the folders. The likelihood that Apple will fix iTunes soon seems small. -
Can't Download Photos to Adobe Photoshop Elements after iPhone Upgrade
Howdy, I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 with my iPhone ever since I bought my iPhone 3G when they came out and have never had any trouble. Whenever I synced my phone and there were new photos on it, Photoshop Elements would start it's photo downloader program and let me download the pics from my phone and put them in the organizer. Then it would let me delete them.
But this weekend I took a bunch of photos and now Photoshop Elements startes up during the sync as usual, but before it lets me download any pictures I get a message from Photoshop Elements saying "Downloader needs to close" (or something like that) and I never get the chance to download the pictures. The only way I have to get the pictures off my phone right now is to mail them as attachments.
A few days ago I upgraded to the 2.2 iPhone software and I was wondering if this might be the source of the problem. Has anyone else heard of any problems like this?I'm having the same problem with Elements 6.0. The downloader starts up and I can see the first few pictures in the downloader before the error message comes up and the downloader must shut down. The only way to get pictures off the phone is through Win Explorer. But, when you try to remove the pics off the phone (i.e. move or delete) the phone reboots. The only way to remove the pics is one at a time on the phone itself.
It is extremely frustrating that Apple has created a decent way to sync music and video, but no iTunes way to handle pictures. Honestly I amazed that Apple has worked so hard to be the standard for music, etc. that they just leave it to the consumer to figure out the picture stuff. Come on Apple. -
Having installed an upgrade for Photoshop Elements 13, I cannot open the application. I get an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X".
I have since uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but get the same error message.Which version of OS X do you have? It's not clear from your post whether "installed an upgrade" means you just installed PSE 13 as an upgrade or you installed an update to PSE 13, like ACR 9 or 13.1. Please clarify.

How do I open up a .7z file just over 1gb in size? I have just downloaded this as an upgrade from Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 to version 12. I cannot see any sign of the Akamai program on my computer that is supposed to open and install the two files that I downloaded.

I don’t mind mountain climbing but anything serious to do with a computer scares me silly.
I installed the 64 bit version of 7zip and once I figured out how to tell the computer to use the right application within that to open the 7zip file, the big file opened and I was able to apply the .exe file to get things going and installed. In the end the default location the installation chose was program files x86 which I think is the 32 bit folder but it all seems to be ok now.

I would like to purchase the Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 plus Adobe Premier Elements 2.0. for more photo and video options.
I'm offered one of two options. Either buy the Full Version or the Upgraded version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 plus Adobe Premier elements 2.0.
I don't want to lose any of my videos or photos in my Adobe Photoshop Album Starter editon 3.0.
Will the Upgrade over the Full Version be sufficient?

That isn't an issue. Your pictures aren't "in" PSA SE, it is just cataloging what's on your disk. In any case, the catalog will be usable by PSE 4 Organizer, so all your tags etc. will be preserved. -

The first two issues sound like a video driver problem.
What is the make/model of your video card/chip?
What is the installed video driver number and date?
For the last issue, it could be many things, including the video driver. I'd look over this ARTICLE, and if there is nothing in the first part, then move on to tuning up the OS an computer in the second part. That would probably be a good time to post the full specs. of your computer, and also both your Project and Source footage. Finally, part three covers many troubleshooting tips, and furnishes many links.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Upgrade Edition
Just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 10/Premiere Elements 10 upgrade edition from Amazon. Installed both and no where did it ask to confirm I had the older versions. I previously have had Adobe Photoshop Elements 9,8,7,6 and Adobe Photoshop Preimiere Elements 4.
When I logged into my account did it automatically validate I owned an older version? I just want to make sure it registered correctly.Yes it will be automatic. If you click on My Adobe at the top of this forum you should be able to see all of your registered products and serial numbers.

Just upgraded my MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012) to Yosemite 10.10.3 including Photos 1.0 which is not syncing with Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Editor (already installed and prev ok with iPhoto)....any ideas please?
In iPhoto it was possible to go into the iPhoto prefs and set up Elements as an external editor. After using “Edit in” the image was saved back to the iPhoto library. Photos for OSX is very new, so I’m not sure whether that is possible with the new app. Have you looked for the prefs/settings? You could ask a question on the Apple forum:

There have been several recent threads where the user is trying to install Premiere Elements 3.0/3.0.2 on Windows 7 64 bit and has been running into MPEG2 Activation message. When the user follows the message to get the MPEG2 Activation, the end message says that the MPEG2 Activation is no longer supported by Adobe and your version. Is that the situation that you are in?
The MPEG2 Activation is one of those first time use/one time only activations that should go on behind the scenes when you have an active Internet connection. Is that the message that you are getting, and do you have a working Internet connection?
The following has worked for a few
1. If the program is installed in Control Panel/Programs, then uninstall it the usual way.
2. Do a free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner) to get rid of leftovers from incomplete uninstalls/reinstalls

3. Install Premiere Elements 3.0 with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled
4. Once Premiere Elements 3.0 is installed, then install the 3.0.2 Update with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

Owned Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Editor for 6 weeks - upgrade?
I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Editor from the Mac App Store 6 weeks ago. I didn't need the organiser so the cut down version was perfect for me.
However, now Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor is out but there is no upgrade option and it seems a bit harsh to expect people who bought recently to buy it all over again for a few new gadgets.
I really expected to see an upgrade to 9 to sort out the bugs I found but I'd guess that's not gonna happen now.
Is the only option "buy the new version" and hope that the bugs have been fixed?
When I Alt click "remember" on the save properties, it'd be nice if it actually remembered and not keep reverting back to GIF.Argh56 - I feel your pain.
I, too, just paid $80 for the app store version of Elements 9 very recently. The update, Elements 10, is FULL price to me.
That is rediculous. Rediculous.
Charge me $20 in-app for the upgrade. Charge me $40, if you must Adobe, but asking me to pay another $80 is absurd.
The Adobe website says that app store download version of Elements will "qualify" for an upgrade price. What is the upgrade price? $80 - the same a brand new user would pay!
It is business practices like this that really anger those customers on whom Adobe has built its success. I used Photoshop for years, and Elements for the last few years. I enjoy the product and am familiar with how it works.
However, right now.... where I'm sitting... I am oh so close to clicking on the "buy" button for Aperature and giving my $80 to a company that treats its customers better.
Maybe this is what we all need to do to communicate with Adobe in the language they speak - $$$. (Similar to the OWS 99%ers are telling the big banks?)
Honestly - this is no way to treat loyal customers.
