Recordings lost. How do I keep this from happening again?
OK, so, I recorded a song with my band. Sixteen tracks of guitar, bass, drums, vocals, etc. I had six different versions of the song (various mixes) all saved in separate files like this: SongtitleWorking1; SongtitleWorking2; and so on. Six different working files of the same song, the highest number being the latest version.
The other day I pulled the bass track from one of the earlier working files and dropped into the most recent worker, then I deleted all the earlier versions. Now, when I open the most recent working mix, that bass line I placed from one of the now-deleted working files can't be found. Gone forever. Totally lame.
Any ideas on how I can keep this from happening in the future?1. Open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the box marked Safari.
2. You can only restore the whole bookmarks file to a previous state. It's not possible to restore individual bookmarks.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
~/Library/Safari
Quit Safari.
Select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the Finder menu bar. Paste into the text box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
A folder window should open. Restore the file named "Bookmarks.plist" in that folder from a backup that predates the unwanted changes. -
The folder that I added to the bookmarks menu has disappeared (along with the subfolders in it). The bookmarks I have that were not organized in a folder (just listed on the bookmarks menu) are still on the bookmarks menu. Tags from the lost bookmarks are still there, but they are empty.
The "recently bookmarked" option just lists the bookmarks I had added to the bookmark menu (but not put in folders) and the default bookmarks from Mozilla and Windows Live. There were many things in the lost bookmarks that were more recent than these.
I tried restoring from an automatic backup and that didn't work. My browser history seems accurate though.
I only have one firefox profile.I don't think it is the corrupt localstore.rdf file since none of the problems listed in that article are happening. The disappeared folder and bookmarks do not appear in the sidebar or in the menu.
I can still add bookmarks and the back/forward navigation still works. I do not want to do anything that will delete my history.
I downloaded the places.sqlite extension suggested and tried "Rebuild Indices." That did not bring my missing bookmarks back.
I had it do the "Deep Check" preset and this is what it told me

In Preview, when I add text annotations to my PDF (lecture note slides), they look fine until I close it and reopen it, and then they are rotated 90 degrees. How do I fix this and keep it from happening again?
I have the same problem with lectures slides.
Furthermore, sometimes the text box, when doube-clicking, turns the text into a one-liner. Causing the text box to sometimes get 3. times wider than the pdf itself.

By pressing [cmd + I] the Inspector opens up and clicking on the rightmost tab 'Annotations' you should be able find those Annotations again. I do this regularly to find the empty annotations I accidentally create while clicking through slides. -
Every once in a while, letters stop working on my keyboard. I have to restart to get them to work again. Happens about once a week. Why and how do I keep this from Happening? An example is: I try to type Super Excited and the U, E and P won't work. But once I restart, all the letters work.
It could be an accumulation of all sorts of bits of info and depending on the last time you cleared the system cache either manually or via a factory reset on that phone you might find a difference there after doing so with many other system caches.
Clearing the application cache removes temporary files and frees up memory - your personal settings or information remain intact.
Be sure you clear only the application cache and not the application data.
From the home screen, tap Apps.
Scroll to and tap Settings.
Tap More.
Tap Application manager.
Swipe left to view the All tab.
Scroll to and tap an application.
Tap Clear cache.
You've now cleared the application cache. -

Changing your password should be sufficient, that should be required to be entered to download anything from the store.

probably asked and answered a million times but laptop died and my boyfriend and i are now sharing a computer when i went to back up my contacts i ended up with all of his? This article can help you find out if there are any conflicts between your copy of Windows XP and iTunes, and can tell you what to do if there are. Before going down the troubleshooting route though, you should take a look at this article, which can help you back up your entire iTunes library to an external hard drive, so if this issue is recurring, you will be able to restore from that backup and will not have to worry about losing your playlists or music again:

The Firefox 4.0 on my laptop reverts back to 3.6.16. This has happened several times. Why does this happen and/or how do I prevent it from happening again?
Thanks for the link. I just downgraded to the absolute shtfest that's 4.0. I WAS just fuming about how gawdawful this "new" version is, but after wasting so much time trying to sort thru all the issues caused by this 4.0 downgrade (past updates have always been seamless and troublefree - not so for this shtfest!) I'm flat-out RAGING!!! Fortunately the laptop still has 3.6.xx running - it's the LAST version of Firefox it will EVER see. I switched to Firefox so many years ago to get away from the insanity and frustration of Explorer - if this 4.0 crapshoot is the "future" of Firefox, then the incompetent nimrods responsible for it know where they can ram it. I'm starting the search for a new browser now - so long Firefox, it's been fantastic while it lasted, but you've gone and screwed the pooch, you've ruined a superb browser!
I'll attempt a reload of 3.6.xx on the desk machine, and if successful I'll run it till it drops, or I find a suitable replacement browser, but 4.0 won't be coming back - GOOD RIDDANCE!!! -

It really can take very long to import and process so many images - I would not dare to make a prediction.
Can you open the Activity Viewer?
From Aperture's main menu bar: Window > Show Activity.
This window will tell you the filename of the image that is currently being processed.
if you are seeing, that the import is still far from being finished, you might to pause certain tasks directly from this panel, like the generation of previews or scanning for faces. I'd let the import run, if you see that it is making progress.
Have you enabled very time-consuming options, like the generation of high resolution previes or scanning for faces and places? if yes, and the import is not making any progress at all, I'd disable thes options in the Aperture preferences for the initial import. You can add these later for the projects where you want to use these features.

My home page opens just fine. When I type a search topic in the search box, it goes to the list of possible websites. But when I click on any of those choices, the browser is automatically redirecting my to a different page (usually an advertisement). How do I keep this from happening any more? Do a malware check with some malware scan programs.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.<br />

Mine doesn't show anything in the CSS Designer panel when I make a selection in Code Vew. It will only pop up the css set for a given element if I select that element in Design View first. If I drill down using the Sources and Selectors sub windows in the CSS Designer panel itself, it works the same in both. I pretty much never use it, but it doesn't do what you're explaining in my version of DWCC, so I'd guess you may have some slight corruption in the program.
Unless, does it make a difference if you have Live View turned on or not?
