Urgent: Accesing Client's System thro' Web

Hi
I have my application Web deployed. Now I want my user to upload a file from his local system to the Server using a form shown in the applet window (like attaching a file with mails). I tried doing it but all the requests were directed to the Server by default.
Is there any method (oracle/ASP/JSP) code to acheive this. Pls let me know
Thanks

    (1) In your system there are 3 nodes. The first one is the web
client running a browser posting HTTP request to your web server.
Your web server is a server to the web client but also a client
to your Oracle database server. From the web client browser you
cannot communicate directly with the Oracle server directly
through JDBC. Your CGI scripts (you have not specified what web
scripting tool you are using) written in Java may communicate
with your Oracle database using the JDBC drivers available in
    your $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/classes111.zip file.
    (2) You do not need any JDBC-ODBC bridge to access Oracle
databases. You should use the Oracle JDBC drivers.

  • How to create the Custom project System as Web Project

    Hi,
I have created a custom project system using this walkthrough. But
this walk through is targeting Visual C# project system. I need to create the Custom project system as Web project and set the start up page as index.html file. How can I achieve this?
    Note:
I have got the Custom project system sample from VS2013 SDK samples(https://mpfproj12.codeplex.com/).
But it demonstrate the Custom console applications only.
    - Abbas K

    Hi,
So you didn't even follow this walkthrough yet? If you did, how did you do it?
I failed to create such a web project system because I finally messed up my VS experimental instance. But it's possible to create a custom web project system, by following this walkthrough. Someone else has successfully made it, check this
    link.
The difference is that you have to use web project type instead of the console application project type. You could copy a web project's .csproj file into the VSPackage project and rename it to xxx.myproj. There's an error in the walkthrough that the AssemblyInfo.cs
file should be put into Properties folder and set the "Build Action" property to Content, "Include in VSIX" to true.

  • Different display on client report builder and web reports

Hi all, I have build a report in report 6i version Report Builder 6.0.8.13.1.And I set the page to 8.5*11 ,and it runs well in the client ,but when I put it on the UNIX SERVER,and run it from web URL,It displayed different from the client report builder. The web report is "smaller" than the client report ,but the font size is as same as the client .
My HPUX is 11x,and display the Chinese report .
Any body know why ?give me some advice ,thank u very much.

    Hi
If you had built the report definition on Windows and then moved this to Unix server, you may find different fonts in use. This is becuase your Unix setup does not have the same fonts install. At design time, You need to use fonts which are available on Unix also. The same fonts shaould also be installed for printer in Unix i.e. the AFM/PFM font files should be kept under $ORACLE_HOME/guicommonX/tkXX/admin/AFM or PFM directory. This would give you the same output and would lessen the porting affect.
    Thanks

  • Save file on client machine on the web.....

    Hi,
I have a Form Application C/S 6i where I create a file using Get_File_Name, TEXT_IO.fopen .... etc. This application it's OK. The problem is when I load the application on AIS9i. The application don't load never. I must create and save a file on client machine when I use application on the web. What Can I do? Is This operation possible without radical change of the code source?
    Thanks

    Erik,
actually this project is under the leadership of the same author that created d2kwutil. It is too early to tell what exactly will be in this package and most likely we will release things step by step as they finish. However, you canuse this thread for a wishlist of functionality and I will pass it to the project lead. The implementation will be both POL/SQL and Java (as Java is the only way for us to access the client side in teh Web). The project target is sometime mid of next year. As said, the project hasn't really started yet so it is too early to speculate on what will make it in and when this will be delivered.

  • Web Service Proxy client to invoke a Web service on SSL (Jdev 10.1.3.1)

    Hi,
I have to develope a Web Service proxy client to invoke a web service on SSL. First I'm testing with OC4J 10.1.3.1 and JDEV 10.1.3.1 and did this:
    1) Developed a basic PL/SQL Web Service with JDEV and publish on my standalone OC4J.
    2) Made a test with a browser, it worked OK
    3) Generated a proxy client from JDev 10.1.3.1 to invoke web service, it worked OK
--- Now make it work on SSL----
    4) Then, added SSL configuration to oc4j , generated a certificate with keytool (updated server.xml, secure-web-site.xml), and shutting down and starting the OC4j instance.
    5) Import the certificate to JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security/cacerts
    6) Test web service from browser on https and worked OK.
    7) When tried to modified proxy client (generated in step 3) to make it work on SSL, I realized that just changing the END_POINT to the new url (https) it worked!
    Questions----
1.- By default the proxy client generated from JDEV 10.1.3.1 knows how to deal with SSL conections?
2.- If I dont have previously the server certificate to import it into JAVA keystore (cacerts) how could I ,from proxy client code, capture it and import it before the validation occurs... because if the certificate is not in keystore , the program fails.
    Thanks in advance
    J.

    Hi,
Could you please provide me with the steps necessary to create a web service proxy client through JDeveloper or any other mechanism when 2 way SSL (requiring client authentication) is enabled.
    Thanks a lot in advance

  • ABAP source code to connect to third party systems using web service calls?

    Hi all,
can any one provide an example ABAP source code to connect to third party systems using web service calls? The base system is CRM.

Do you want to call a web service in a remote system, or do you want to provide a web service?
If you want to call a web service you should create a proxy object via SE80. Open your development package, right click on the tree entry and choose: Create -> Enterprise Service / Web Service -> Proxy Object and provide the needed information (including the WSDL description file). You may then use the proxy object to call the web service (if the connection and everything else works right).

  • Get client ip address from Web Service hosted on OAS 10.1.2

    Hi,
Can anyone advice how to get the client IP from a web service (java) hosted on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.
The below code works if the web service is hosted on Tomcat.
    MessageContext msgCtxt = MessageContext.getCurrentMessageContext();
    String IP = (String)msgCtxt.getProperty("REMOTE_ADDR");
This code is causes built errors on the OAS 10.1.2 since it needs Axis and many other Jars. I tried to insert the jars needed but unfortunately when i was able to compile it returned a java.lang.NullPointerException.
Is there a way to get the IP address of the client that calls this web service ?
Or is there a way to read the SOAP request maybe i can retrieve the client IP from it.
    Thanks for your support,

    Hi Friends,
I tried to get IP Address of Client by using
SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','IP_ADDRESS') in a database function but the problem it always brings the Forms Server IP Address instead of Client Ip Address on Web Forms. I'm just wondering is there any way to deal this problem?
    Thanks

You will probably have to use a PJC and execute ipconfig. You can also read the registry, but the location may vary.

  • Thin-client uses a RESTful Web Service

    Hello everyone!
Once I've develop a few web services, it's time to "consume" them. I'm trying to develop a thin-client in JAVA (with the netbeans ide) but I haven't found the best way to do it.
So, which is the best way to create a LabVIEW RESTful webservice?
Obviously, JAVA is an option, how about create a client with another VI?
    Greetings!
    Francisco José Gómez López
    Software Engineer

    1) Are you trying to create a RESTful web service in LabVIEW?
    or
    2) Are you wondering about creating a thin client to consume the web service?
    A1) Web Services in LabVIEW
A2) LabVIEW WebUI Builder  You can create a VI to act as a client for your web services, but not a thin client (i.e. running in the browser)
