Solution here (Mozillazine forum): http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2014247 READ and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS carefully.

The script is doing exactly what you are telling it to do.  By having the user leave the password blank, it is updating the database with the "blank" passsword.
In the form field containting the password field, put the password in as the default value from the database.  You can do that by clicking on the form field and then selecting on dynamic.  From there select the field that contains your password.  From there make sure to mark the form field as a password so the password is hidden.  You may also want to make a verify password form field as well with the same default value.  That way when the user changes the password they have to change it on both.
If you have dreamweaver cs3 or cs4 or cs5 you can use the spry form validation and have it compare two form fields to make sure they match.  If they dont match it wont let the user complete the form.
If you have an older version of dreamweaver you can download and use the yaromat form validation extension.  It is a free extension.

  • Latest CS5 Update include all update fixes?

    HI all,
A silly question perhaps, but I am just getting aroudn to updating my PPro CS5.  There are currently three updates available.  Does installing hte latest 5.0.3 include the fixes present in the 5.0.1 and 5.0.2 updates as well?  Or should he update be installed individually in order?
My system has started running painstakingl slow in the last couple of days.  Granted I am working some media on an external HD via USB 2.0, but I"ve never expierence this much lag in the past.  I just tried deleting the PPro preferences via instructions from this link:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/genesisproject/2009/11/having_weird_behavior_with_an.html
My next thought is to go ahead and install the update, but I want to make sure I get it installed properly.
    Thanks!

    Hi everyone,
Thanks again for all of the input.  I was able to find access to an ethernet cable and first attempted the updates via Bridge>Help>Updates.  I de-selected only a couple of options before clicking 'update' and letting the updater do its thing.  I let myself be fooled into thinking the first estimated time, represented the entire update, not just the invididual component update.  Once I realized the update would require much longer htan I first anticipated, I choose to cancel the update and save it for a time when it would be more efficient in my workflow to do so.   This turned out to be even more time consuming than allowing the update to run to completion!   I returned to the updating procedure the next day workign from home and connected to the internet via ethernet cable again.  I attempted the Bridge>Help>Updates workflow again, and recieved the message attached.
I had my suspcisions that being the work station in question (a laptop) has admin restrictions from our IT department, I thought perhaps that was causing the hang-up.  Though I was able to sucessfully initiate the update procedure via an internet connection at our HQ building (the attempt which I manually cancelled)...making me think there was a larger issue, perhaps caused by my pre-emptive canceling of the update procedure the day before.
I had already downloaded hte PPro, AE and AME updates and had the ZIP files waiting on a flash drive.  I went ahead and tried to update PPro using the downloaded update and received the error message in the 2nd attachment.  This reinforced my thought the cancelled update caused some sort of glitch.
Where do I go now?  Will this reuqire a re-install of the entire suite? Or is there some way to reset the updater like deleting application preferences?  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  I would love to get my system running smoothly again asap

  • [DATA LOSS] I closed the Tab Groups and all my tabs dissapeared. How can I recover the tabs in Firefox 26? Would you please just delete this feature?

Thank-you in advance for reading all of this.
A slip of the mouse in trying to return to the left-most tab caused the tab groups feature to take over the window. I completely failed to comprehend what I was looking at and closed the thing by clicking the x because I damn sure didn't want what I was looking at. Undo close group? Of course not, I didn't want a group in the first place. Hey! My tabs are completely gone now! So in just a few steps all of which seemed innocent, I have lost all but ten of the tabs that were open, and those were only the most recent ten (and actually older tabs would have been more valueable than newer so insult on top of injury).
I don't think increasing the number of undoable tab closures is the answer. I think getting rid of the tab groups feature all together is the best way to go. I seem to have lost all the tabs I had open, irretrievably, and some of them had been open for WEEKS so they can't be reopened from history.
The tab groups feature is a data loss bug. Please remove it from the UX completely. If you have to figure out a way to grandfather people who actually have a tab group, fine but don't further vex me with it, please.
The reason this catastrophe has occurred is that your feature, was so discoverable that I activated it by mistake, and the UI after that had to be learned on the spot, yet was too complicated to learn. You really should withdraw it until you can figure out how to keep the UI for it from causing data loss such as I have experienced this morning.
Also, there may be other questions on this feature which are from a certain point of view the same as this one. It's hard for me to tell for sure. None of them had a true resolution so that's why I posted this one, also I'm seeking a specific fix, removal of the offending feature.
Why remove the feature? Because if I allow in my discussion the possibility of retaining it, it will stick around in its present and dangerous form until your team is done bikeshedding the new form it should take. Instead I want you to delete the feature and then require its champion to convince you that a new incarnation won't cause data loss before you allow it back in.
Fellow users, if you know of a way to recover all 50 lost tabs from an "undo close tab group incident", I would be grateful for that advice, but I would still believe the feature should be deleted. Some of the tabs have been retained for months so digging them out of the history is not practical.

I am not 100% certain but I am fairly sure development of this tab feature has ceased and it is likely to be deprecated. I am even less sure what the replacement will be.
Thus forum is not the place for discussing development issues or feature requests. (Developers do not use this site)

I have not tried this and am not even using Windows at present but the tabs groups are stored as entries in the sessionstore.js files. Firefox has such a file plus sometimes numbered copies and a backup copy. Firefox will have re-writen these files but I suppose there is a posibility the Windows OS may have kept copies.
    * see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Previous-versions-of-files-frequently-asked-questions
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Sessionstore.js Note the files are kept within the Firefox Profile
** Firefox Button -> Help -> Troubleshooting [open profile] (or some thing similar) is one method of locating the profile.
Find and backup any current sessionstore.js file. Consider also bookmark or otherwise recording anything you have open. Now find any previous versions and try putting them in Firefox's profile before restarting it.

  • Why is "New Tab Plus" now disabled and not able to be installed, and how can I get it back?

I had New Tab Plus and loved it for a very long time. I also love firefox and have a hard time going for any other browser. The addon was working just fine until today when I had to reformat my computer. I didnt bother to backup the addon's and Mozilla but only the bookmarks and New Tab Plus settings. When I returned I find that I cannot reinstall New Tab Plus because it was disabled my an admin... With no reason why, or no way to get it back. Why was it removed? Is it possible at all to get it back even if it takes using an older version of firefox?
    Thank you for your time.

I did default System restore to factory defaults without automatic backups because I had selectively backed up everything I thought was important to an external. I do not have nay remnants of the old Firefox profiles aside for my bookmarks.
Also they have an english site http://www.newtabplus.com/
It's just not updated to address the issue last time I checked.

  • 5.0 update lost all my tabs, restore previous session doesn't work

This update really ticks me off. I was upgraded to version 5 without any warning and all my tabs are gone. They had all my logins on them and there are too many to remember. What the *^%^*&(*)()(*&. How can I restore back to version 4 and my tabs.

If you are in the profile manager then that is probably your problem, starting a new profile would be devoid of your old information. You have to find the profile you had before the problem, and use it (or copy it into your new profile, if you are beta testing and need to use multiple profiles) . Generally anything you do in a profile must be done with Firefox down. If what you are looking at looks like the picture in
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
but more than just default, first find the correct profile you need by find the profile used until the date of the problem, check each profile for the last modified dates for places.sqlite and the .json files in bookmarkbackups in your profiles.
Since you are on Windows 7 as am I, you can get there by inserting your username that you log in to Windows with. The foldername in the Profiles directory includes the profilename plus additional characters to prevent two profiles from every having the same name on your system.
    C:\Users\''<userid>''\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
When you identify the correct profile, choose that profile name in the profile manager, then click on "Start Firefox". Never delete any profiles unless you are sure of what you are doing and have a backup of everything on an external device.
You can add the profile to your Desktop or Quick Launch button so you won't be asked, once you are working properly.

  • Switching browser using IE tab plus - the Norton Identity Safe does not work

Using Firefox 4.0.1 and Norton 360 5.1.0.29 - which has recently been "fixed" to work together (by Norton).
When using IE Tab Plus to switch rendering engines (Firefox to IE) the Norton Identity Safe does not work by not pre filling user names and passwords to sites that are registered in the Norton Safe and also for any new sites does not offer the option to add a new site to the Norton safe . . . . . is this a Norton or Firefox or IE Tab issue? And has anyone else had this problem?

Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have indicated that for Norton 360 they plan to release an update to Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early May - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • Is there a way to "Open All in Tabs" in a bookmark folder and have the new set of tabs replace or close the ones I already have open? Prior to v8 it use to do this.

Used to be, if I had a blank tab open and I activated "open all in tabs" on a folder with 3 websites, I would get 3 open websites only. Since v8, the original blank tab stays open too. Is there a setting I can Change to fix this? Going back to close the original blank tab is getting frustrating.

Type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter. <br />
''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.''

Double-click that preference to change the value to '''false'''

  • Firefox 8 changed how "open all in tabs" works for bookmarks. How do I get it back to the way it worked in FF7?

In fFF7, right clicking a bookmarks folder displayed a menu with "Open all in tabs" as the first item. Selecting this option closed all other tabs, then opened the group in new tabs. This changed in FF8--now the group is opened in tabs adjacent to the already opened tabs. How do I get it to act like it did in FF7 (and before) where the open tabs where closed before opening the new folder?
    Thanks

So your advice for a feature that worked fine, was intuitive, and we want, but was removed from Firefox, is to add an extension? That's not helpful.

  • After upgrading to the newer version of Firefox, a lose all my tabs every time I close. I've done what was suggested in the FAQx, but I still lose them all when I close. I want to fix this. How?

I want to know how to have my tabs save when I close Firefox. I did what was suggested in the FAQs section, but all my tabs disappear every time I close Firefox, whether using the "exit" command, or the "X" button. This was the very reason I never updated to the new version previously, but had hoped that the problem had been addressed and upgraded, now I'm stuck with having to reopen every tab every time I open Firefox. Please tell me there is a way to correct this. And, I'm not fluent in technospeak, so I need simple, basic instructions. Thank you. Mark

    Hi,
Pressing '''Alt''' + '''T''' on the keyboard brings up the '''Tools''' menu.
To see the full menu bar temporarily, press '''Alt''' or '''F10'''.
To make the menu bar permanently visible, right-click on the '''+''' after the last tab and enable (tick) '''Menu Bar''' or press '''Alt''' + '''V''' > '''Toolbars''' > '''Menu Bar'''.
