Urgent: Error in uploading data in cube after adding new Key figure

Hi Guys,
I have added 1 key figure (DEC) to my existing cube. and proceeded as below:
1. Deleted all data from cube
2. activated the cube
3. set Constant 1 for this key figure
4. activated the transformation
5. reated a new DTP
But when i execute it, it gives me error. in updating to infocube ZSDBILL:
Error while updating to target ZSDBILL
Process Terminated.
all other steps in DTP are succesful like: extraction, error handling and transformation.
There is no details in long text of these errors.
Can anyone suggest whats the error stands for or what i am missing.

Once logout and login back then again activate cube,transformation and run the DTP.

I checked the data in the PSA it's there but the first record is not green light it has red light. Could you please give me some idea how to solve this problems.

If you don't know if you want to take over all settings (especially exchange rates may be critical) the problem is probably found in the fiscal year variant. So if you just take over the fiscal year variants.
If the problem remains you could check the following things:
In SPRO -> Global Settings -> Fiscal Year Variants (or similar) check:
Does a fiscal year variant S1 exist?
Is it time dependent? If yes, is it valid for Mar 3rd 2004?
If it is a self defined variant check if there is a period defined for March 3rd 2004.

DB Connect Load - "Unknow error while uploading data from the DB Table"

Hi Experts,
We have our BI7 system connected to Oracle DB based third party tool. The loads are performing quite well in DEV environment.
I would like to know, how we transport DB Connect datasources to Quality systems? Any different process to be followed for DB Connect datasources?
At present the connections between BI Quality and the third party quality systems are established. We transported the DataSource from BI DEV system to BI quality system, but on trigerring an infopackage we are not able to perform loads. It prompts - "Unknow error while uploading data from the DB Table".
Also on comparing the DataSources in DEV system and Quality system there are no fields in "Proposal" tab of datasource in Quality system. Also I cannot change or activate Datasource in Quality system as we dont have change access in quality.
Please advice.

Sorry for bumping an old thread ....
Did this issue get ever get resolved?
I am facing the same one. The loads work successfully in Dev. The transport for DBConnect DS also moved in successfully.
One strange this is that DB User for dev did not automatically change to db user from quality when I transported the DBConnect datasource. DBCon DS still shows me the DB User from Dev in Quality system
I get "Unknown Error" whenever I trigger the data package.

There will be thousands of errors which can occur in any kind of environment.
Some of the errors listed
1. SID missing
2. No alpha conforming values found
3. Replicate datasource error
4. BCD_Overflow error
5. update rule inactive
6. DUplicate masterdata found error
RFC connection lost.
7. Invalid characters while loading.
8. ALEREMOTE user is locked.
9. Lower case letters not allowed.
10. While loading the data i am getting messeage that 'Record
the field mentioned in the errror message is not mapped to any infoboject in the transfer rule.
11. object locked.
12. "Non-updated Idocs found in Source System".
13. While loading master data, one of the datapackage has a red light error message:
14. Extraction job aborted in r3
15. repeat of last delta not possible
16. datasource not replicated
17. datasource/transfer structure not active
18. Idoc Or Trfc Error

Please follow the steps:
1.      If necessary, replicate the DataSource. To do so, you can use the following options in the Data Warehousing Workbench:
○     Select the source system in the source system overview and choose Replicate DataSources in the context menu. This replicates all data sources in the source system.
○     Select the data source in the DataSource overview and choose Replicate Metadata in the context menu. This replicates just the one DataSource.
2.      Create an InfoSource and assign the data source to it. To do so, choose your application component on the InfoSource page of the Data Warehousing Workbench. In the context menu, choose Create InfoSource. On the next dialog box, select Transactional Data. Another dialog box appears. Enter a name and description for the new InfoSource and choose Enter. In the tree, select the new InfoSource. In the context menu, choose Assign DataSource. On the dialog box that appears, enter the source system. A list of DataSources appears. Select the required DataSource. Choose Enter.
Alternatively you can remain in the DataSource overview. A icon indicates that no InfoSource has been assigned yet. Either click the icon or choose Assign InfoSource in the context menu. On the dialog box that appears, enter a name for the InfoSource. Choose . On the next dialog box, enter a description and choose . Confirm the following dialog box. You can now maintain the InfoSource.
You can assign a DataSource to one InfoSource only.
3.      Create a DataStore object in the InfoProvider overview of the Data Warehousing Workbench.
a.      Select the InfoArea and then choose Create DataStore Object in the context menu. The Edit DataStore Object dialog box appears.
b.      Enter a name and a short description. If required, you can also specify a DataStore object to use as a template. Choose . The Edit DataStore Object dialog box appears.
   c.      On the left-hand side of the screen, you can select InfoObjects, for example, InfoCubes or InfoObjectCatalogs. You can copy characteristics or key figures from these InfoObjects to the DataStore object. We suggest that you select either the InfoCube to which you want to copy the data, or the InfoSource.
     d.      Copy the characteristics to the key fields in the right-hand tree in the DataStore object and copy the key figures to the data fields. In both cases, use drag and drop. You might have to transfer the 0RECORDMODE InfoObject from the Business Content.
     e.      In the Settings branch of the DataStore tree, set the following indicators:
■      Set quality status to 'OK' automatically
■      Activate DataStore object data automatically
■      Update data targets from DataStore object automatically
f.      Activate the DataStore object.
For more information, see DataStore Object.
       4.      Create update rules for the DataStore object.
.a.      Select the DataStore object in the data targets page (Data Warehousing Workbench).
b.      Choose Create update rules from the context menu. The Create Update Rules screen appears.
c.      Enter the InfoSource that you created in step 2. Choose . Edit the update rules as necessary.
d.      Activate the update rules by choosing .
       5.      Create update rules for the InfoCube as above, but with the DataStore object as the data source.
       6.      Create an InfoPackage for the InfoSource. In contrast to the normal procedure, on the Processing tab page, set the Only PSA and Update subsequently in data targetsindicators. Start or schedule the data load

If you are actually creating a BDC to load data pls be more specific.
Data format incorrect. Tab delimited/ etc
Dates in wrong formats
Currency incorrect formats
Missing screens
Wrong transaction code
File not found,
Missing Mandatory fields,
Screen resoultion.
You should always use refresh for your Bdcdata table.
Loop at internal table.
refresh Bdcdata.

Adding a new key figure to Info Cube

Can I add a new key figure to an existing Info cube in which data is loaded?
Assume that In Info Cube we have the following.
Stu Id -- Characteristic
Maths , Physics , Chemistry -- Key figures
These are the info objects which are already available and transfer rules are already available for the same in the infosource.
Could any one let me know how to add one more new key figure (total ) , which is the sum of the three marks to the Info Cube and populate the data in to the same.
I have tried the following steps , but could not get the solution.
1). Create a new key figure info object (total).
2). Add the same to the communication and pull the same into transfer rules of the existing info source and activate the same.
3). Add the new key figure to the info cube.
4). Open transfer rules for the info cube and change the mode from NO updation to Addition for the particular key figure (total).
When I perform the 4th step it is giving a red symbol beside the key figure in update rules and I'm not able to activate the same.
Any help on how to add key figures to update rules and transfer rules is highly appreciated and points would be assigned.

1.add new Keyfigure to Infocube.
2.Go to Update rules> go to update type of that Keyfigure>selct formula in update method>create new formula>here you can add up your 3 keyfigures-->OK.
activate update rules and InfoProvider.Check all are active or not..
by using Export generate datasouce ,you populate data(historical data) to new keyfigure as well.Then you have to delete historical data requests.
or iyou can create formula in query designer as well as srinivas suggested.that would be better option.

EDIT method doesn't work after adding new row

I would like to start editing after adding new row into TableView.
I copied example from Oracle website: [Using JavaFX UI Controls - 13 Table View|http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/ui_controls/table-view.htm#CJAGDAHE]. Then I put additional button for adding new row and define action for the button.

Hi Vijay,
Check the Flat file structure is same as that of transfer structure!
Also in the transfer rule if u scroll right u will find a column Conversion and it will show you check box!
Enable the check box , activate the info source again and load the data !

Error in uploading data from FIAP ODS to FIAP CUBE

We are trying to upload data from FIAP line item ODS to FIAP CUBE. However it is showing zero records updated for a long time. We tried deleting and repeating the same but again it is showing zero records only. The monitor status is yellow.
Following message is coming on the screen.

there is o relation of infoobject name in flat file and infoobjet name at BW side.
please check with the object in the BW and their lengths and type of the object and check your flat file weather u have the same type there,
now check the sequence of the objects in the transfer rules and activate them.

No new data in cube after a incoming maintenance job

Hi,
I thought I had read about this topic before, so I tried searching the forum but I didn't find any relevant threads.
Anyways,
I have a cube(partitioned along month) that I want to add new data to every day. I maintain the cube using AWM and accept all the default values for the maintenance job except for in the "cube data processing options" where I select "aggregate the cube for only the incoming data values".
But after I do this, none of the new data is shown.
I have mapped the cube to a view where I only have the data from the last couple of days to limit the load. When I do a select count against the view i get the result 150961 rows. When I check the xml_load_log I see this: Processed 150961 Records. Rejected 0 Records.
Some of the data in the view already exists in the cube, and some are new and its the new data that's not there.
I used OX to check the prt_topvar and the data isn't here either.
When I do the maintenance it takes about 15-20 minutes so everything seems normal.
Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? any suggestions would be appreciated.

edit: I just did a similar maintenance, but this time I limited the view to only new values and the time it took was just 15 seconds from it started the load of measures and until it was done with the solve.

Regarding the 10.2.0.3A patch: Unfortunately the only access I have to the server is with developertools like AWM, OWB, sqlplus etc. so I'm not able to check out whats located in the home of the DB(I guess this is where the executable objects would be). Whenever support wants me to apply a new patch I have to ask my DBA, but he is on vacation at the moment and that makes it a bit more difficult. Hopefully he still has the log file and I can check it out once he gets back. So for now I'm not doing anything more with checking if the patch is properly installed.
Regarding maintenance of incoming values: I found a nice workaround for this one.
To describe a little more how it was when it wouldn't work. The cube is partitioned along months in the timedimension, and for every new day I would add that level in the timedimension as well. If I was to create a report today, the highest date I would see would be wed July 18. Then after a new maintenance of incoming values tomorrow, the highest value would be thu July 19, and so on. The logic in the source views for this works perfectly for me, but would easily be a source for error as well if you are not 100% sure on how this would work for you.
What I had to do in order to make the cube load the incoming values: On my first initial load of the cube, I loaded every day up until 31-12-2007. After I did this maintenance of incoming data works fine, and I suspect it will throughout the year. This might be the way it should be as well, I'm not sure. Seems like you have to include all the days in the partition when you do a full aggregation in order for the maintenance of the incoming values to be updated. What I noticed was that it would update days that was already partially loaded, but not days that was added from the incoming maintenance.
Hope this made some sense to read.
