I tightened all HD screws and it didn't help. With the machine running and side of the case off, I physically stopped both the video card fan and the front case fan with my finger for a couple seconds and the noise continued. I also took all hard drives out one by one and rebooted each time. Again, the noise continued until I took out the Mac HD in Bay 1, rebooted, and I had a very quiet, silent machine. The issue is the hard drive in bay 1 that shipped with the computer, it's without a doubt causing the hum/woosh sound. I still need to know if I can safely swap the Mac HD from bay 1 to bay 4 without any issues to the operating system. I would like to try that to see if it dampens the noise but I also want to make sure this swap won't screw up my machine at all.

Urgent-material quantity knows at GR

Hi gurus,
My client's product say material XYZ comes through bags.And they want to keep inventory for these bags also and price of these bags should be include in XYZ material.
Scenario is that while placing PO for 1000kg of XYZ they doesnt know in how much bags this XYZ will come.
They know at the time of GR.
So,is there any facility in MIGO where you can add these bags to XYZ material stock account while giving PO reference?
And how will I get inventory for these bags?

your scenario is the sale of empty bags. It is similar to the sale of empty oil drums, cartoons,boxes etc, etc.
why you want to load the cost of empty bags into your material stock account?
your vendor will not be charging you separately for the material that is coming in these bags and the cost of the bags. bags are packing material for your material .
if he charges you extra, then in PO pricing procedure you can have the condition for packing and forwarding.
from your question it doesnot appears to be this case, as at the time of PO you donot know your material will be shipped in how many bags.
You have two situations :-
1. You have a bags stock which is available in physically but not in system and you want to dispose it.
you should use 202, to get the bags in stock. You will have to create a material number for the bags with appropriate MAP (confirm with your accounts). I have also seen organizations using 561, 552 etc. Nothing wrong in using 531 if it hits the correct G/L account,concept wise 531 is not the right movement.
mvt 561, 552, 531 are movement type with 'nowhere' concept. by using these we are writing on stock from "nowhere" and so you will have to balance out the posting somehow?
The movement type to be finalized will depend on the G/L account it hits in your system and the thoughts of your accounts department.
The most important thing to do is to find out from your financial department where the stock value is supposed to come from. If they want to use a cost centre then a 202 is fine (even if a 201 was never used).
Also, check with accounts how they want to sell it ( as scrap sale ) ?
2. other way. I think at the time of GR for material itself you can create the stock of bags with 501. However, I have seen organizations follow the process 1 every time they want to sell scrap.
This is a very tricky process in organizations and accounts, excise along with materials need to be consulted before going for the final solution.
for selling this these bags, SD consultants will map the sale of scrap process for these bags. only things will be TDS of 1.133 %.
use material type NLAG or UNBW for bags depending upon your requirement.

Urgent: Variable pass child scenario to parent scenario

Hi,
Please help me out with the following.
here's the situation:
Scenario 1:
1 --- Declare variable1
2 --- Set variable1 (=-1)
3 --- Execte Scenario 1a:
3.1 --- --- Declare variable1 (Tried this with and without declare)
3.2 --- --- Interfaces
3.3 --- --- Refresh variable1
4 --- Evaluate variable1
5 --- procedure insert variable1 into SQL table
In the operator I see during execution that the value of variable1 is first -1 and then changes to e.g. 2727.
However on evaluation of the variable1 in Scenario1 the value is still -1 and -1 is written to SQL.
The variable1 is not used as a Startup Parameter in Scenario1a, but even if it is it doesn't make any difference.
I tried to redeclare the variable1 after finishing of child scenario: no change.
I've used 'Latest Value', 'Not persistent' and 'Historize' as the variable types.
Any clues?

I'll explain a bit more what I'm trying to achieve:
1 --- Declare variable1

Step 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 are steps of child scenario 1a.
Step 4 and 5 are in parent scenario 1.
When using historize for the variable I see the following in the operator:
during execution of Scenario 1 the value is -1
after the execution of Scenario 1a the value is e.g. 2727.
the result of the evaluation is {do nothing}, while i would expect it to continue at step5.
So my conclusion is that Scenario1 does not pick up the changed value of the variable1, while in the operator it's clear that 2727 is the current and latest value.
Strange isn't it?
Please let me know if you have an idea.
btw, I also tried to set the variable in Step 2 to e.g. 10 and then the Step5 is executed.

I have two userid with same name on the LDAP from different company. For example userid jsmith from company A and jsmith from company B. Both userid do not exist on Portal Login Server. However, both userids will be created automatically in Login server when LDAP and Portal synchronize user list.
1. How oracle portal will handle such scenario when portal requires unique userid?
2. Can I customize portal login screen? For example when they login they can provide userid, passwd and domain name. Where domain name could be company name.

The scenario you describe is one addressed by Oracle9iAS Portal Release 2's capability to support multi-company hosting. In that scenario, each company has a separate branch of users represented in the directory information tree, as you describe. In this case, both users may have cn=jsmith, but the rest of the DN provides the distinguishing domain, e.g., cn=jsmith,dc=oracle,dc=com and cn=jsmith,dc=microsoft,dc=com.
Version 3.0.9 also supported multi-company hosting, but it was only an internally used feature and one leveraged by a few early adopters. http://portal.oracle.com is one of our hosted examples of multi-company hosting on 3.0.9.
In 'hosting' mode, the login screen displays a third entry field, as you describe, allowing the company name to be specified.
For a supportable configuration, you should use Oracle9iAS Release 2 if you want to employ hosting mode. However, if you need some solution in 3.0.9, you can probably achieve something acceptable by making a slight modification to ssoxoid.pkb. I'm not entirely sure about this, because I'd have to dig into the code (which should be unwrapped, for customization such as this), but you could have users enter their names like 'jsmith@oracle' or 'jsmith@microsoft'. Then, within the ssoxldap.pkb authenticate_user function, you'd need to have the company name added to the base search base before doing the search. Then, once authenticated, the SSO server and Portal would create shadow entries which are unique 'jsmith@oracle', 'jsmith@microsoft'.
Like I say, I'm not sure if the structure of the ssoxldap.pkb file will entirely support this, but that's your best bet until you get Release 2. There will be a 'Multi-Company Hosting Cookbook' provided with Release 2 that will provide the necessary supplemental information to activate hosting mode. You should understand that setting up hosting mode takes a bit more administration than the default single company mode.
If your portal has already been running a while without the @company names then there will also be the issue of getting all the accounts already created moved over to the @company names.

Urgent requirement..Integration scenario

We need to create configuration objects in directory using integration scenario. However one of our application components would be a business service and not a system. When we try to assign services in the second step of configurator it only shows the Business Systems.

Urgent - Need to know that the changed roles are saved in which request ?

I was required to include a query in a specified role. I went to T-code PFCG, gave the role name and went into the changed mode. Then in the authorization data, I assigned the query. After that I saved and clicked on Generate button.
Now, I want to know these changes are captured in which request ?
Please guide me the possible ways so that I can assign points for the useful answers.

Once the changes are done ,it will be captured in IDOC and you go to bd87 transaction and give message type and press execute...
Check in su53 Authorization check transaction
Also
To see Authorization a User has through
transaction suim.
--> users by complex selection criteria
>by authorization values
> Enter authorization object "F_BKPF_BUK "
>press enter and enter company code
execute ... you will find the users
You need to find roles assigned to the user first then go to table agr_1252 anf give the value $BUKRS along with the role names.
Also check tables UST12 and AGR_1251.

You will have to map Sub-Contracting Process in your system. Your company is the Sub Contractor for your Customer.
