URGENT!!! how to render af:table af:column as checkbox in ADF faces

Hi!!
How i can render table column as checkbox.
I used <af:selectBooleanCheckbox id="my CheckBox"
value="#{row.CheckBox}" />
and it is visualizied az checkbox in table but value is not set.
I mean that when i make setAttribute("CheckBox", "Y") checkbox is not checked.
My attribute CheckBox is transient String attribute with default value "N".
i will appreciate if you give ideas how to render colomn or some links to read about it, because i didn't find anything in internet.

Hi Timo,
Thanks for info, But I am not using any Business components in my case, Also this article explains about re-Querying , Is there any way without re-querying we can apply the filter with '>& < ' operators on date columns?
Thanks

  • How do I create multiple types of child nodes in ADF  Faces Tree Component

    Hi,
    I am trying to construct a tree using ADF Faces. The tree I am trying to develop should look something like:
    - Departments
    + Dept 10
    + Dept 20
    + Dept 30
    + Dept 40
    - Employees
    + SCOTT
    +ALLEN
    + BLAKE
    The nodes shown at the top level should serve as labels, indicating the various types of nodes available.
    I have created the top level RootLabelsViewObj, with a SQL clause:
    select rn, node_label
    from (
    select 1 rn
    , 'Employees' node_label
    from dual
    union all
    select 2 rn
    , 'Departments' node_label
    from dual
    union all
    select 3 rn
    , 'Bonusplans' node_label
    from dual
    I have created ViewLinks between the RootLabelsViewObj and the DeptView and EmpView respectively (created on top of DEPT and EMP table in SCOTT schema), based on the LABEL attribute in the RootLabelsViewObj and with ViewLink SQL specified like:
    :Bind_NodeLabel = 'Departments' for the link with DeptView and :Bind_NodeLabel = 'Employees' for the link with EmpView.
    In the ADF BC Application Module Tester, I get exactly what I want.
    However, when I create a JSF JSPX page and drag the RootLabelsViewObj from the Data Control Panel to the page as ADF Tree, I run into a little issue: it seems like I cannot create a second Branch Accessor rule for the RootLabelsViewObj1: I have created a first Branch Accessor Rule referring to DeptView and now try to create a second one for EmpView, to allow Employees to be displayed under the root label "Employees" - but I cannot.
    The PageDefinition looks like:
    <tree id="RootLabelsViewObj1" IterBinding="RootLabelsViewObj1Iterator">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="Rn"/>
    <Item Value="NodeLabel"/>
    </AttrNames>
    <nodeDefinition DefName="model.RootLabelsViewObj"
    id="RootLabelsViewObjNode">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="NodeLabel"/>
    </AttrNames>
    <Accessors>
    <Item Value="DeptView"/>
    </Accessors>
    </nodeDefinition>
    <nodeDefinition DefName="model.EmpView" id="EmpViewNode">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="Ename"/>
    </AttrNames>
    </nodeDefinition>
    <nodeDefinition DefName="model.DeptView" id="DeptViewNode">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="Deptno"/>
    </AttrNames>
    </nodeDefinition>
    </tree>
    Does anyone know:
    - whether it is possible (intended) to have more than one branch accessor per node (i.e. more than one type of child under a node in the tree)
    - if so, how this can be achieved?
    Right now it looks like I am limited to each node in the tree having only one type of child node.
    Please tell me I am wrong.
    best regards,
    Lucas

    Give this a shot mate
    event.getNativeEventTarget();That will allow you to access the DOM object directly
    Id can be retrieved via
    event.getNativeEventTarget().id;

  • Sorting column issue in Oracle ADF faces

    hey guys
    anybody know how I can sort on an object but display a property
    for example, a person object implements comparable and its sort is determined by SSN
    however, when displaying the person, I want to display Last name instead.
    <af:column sortable="true" sortProperty="person"
         id="docTypeCode" width="5%" headerText="Document Type">
    <af:outputText value="#{record.person.lastName}" />
    </af:column>
    I couldn't get this work for me.
    The only alternative I could find is to override the toString () function but this is not possible since this code is legacy and has a cascading impact on other aspects of the application.
    any help would be apperciated.

    Hi,
    not that I am aware of. However, since ADF Faces is nothing else than JavaServer Facse UI components you can Google for such a parser. If you find one you will be able to use it with ADF Faces too.
    Frank
    Ps.: Maybe APEX (Application Express) is the better technology for you to use. Its PLSQL based and knows how to create Ajax style applications out of the database.

    I am using a ddl script --
    Create table ONE as (select * from TWO);
    This gives error saying ONE has long column.
    Any ideas.........

    If you can create the second table, you can populate it through the COPY function.
    See the following testcase:
    DROP TABLE one
    DROP TABLE two
    CREATE TABLE one
    (n NUMBER
    ,l LONG)
    INSERT INTO one
    VALUES
    (1
    ,'123'
    CREATE TABLE two
    (n NUMBER
    ,l LONG)
    COPY FROM apps/apps@db TO apps/apps@db APPEND two USING SELECT * FROM one
    SELECT * FROM one
    SELECT * FROM two

  • How to disable Oracle table NUMBER column type auto round-up

    Below is an example,

    I found column 'a_col1' of table 'a' value will be 2.00, but the application is for some financial calculation and doesn't allow any difference of the amount value (like, 1.999 <> 2.00), what I want to achieve is to disable the Oracle NUMBER type auto round-up and make above 'update' SQL fail with error, so I can trap the error and handle it in the program.
    Could anyone advise me how to achieve above or any good suggestion ? Thanks.

  • How to create tree table with column headers

    hi,
    when i drag and drop a view object onto my .jspx page as a af: tree table ,
    am not able to get the column header of each column. all the columns in the table are just clubbed together not separated as in af:table.
    can anyone say how the column headers are created for the columns when we drop a view object as a tree table?

    Hi,
    this is not an option with the treeTable as it gets rendered by default when dragging and dropping the collection to the page. I haven't tried it, but I think you will have to check which node is getting rendered and based on this information add your own row layout . Sounds like a bit of coding work

  • How to know a table's column name and its types

    if there has one table called "myEmp" stored in my database, it uses to hold employees' information. when a newcomer is hired, the HR will use a register page to register his/her information. for the flexible purpose, i couldn't know how many columns in this table, since it may be added two columns or deleted one column in one day, all i should do is show all fields in the register page and get all data to insert into this table.
    so, how can i know one table's structure in java? i know there has a method in DatabaseMetadata class: getTables(catalog, schema, tablename, tabletype), it's return is resultset . i wrote a code below:
    DatabaseMetaData md = conn.getMetaData();
    ResultSet md.getTables(null, null, tablename, types);
    i set catalog and schema both are null since i don't know what else can i set?
    the ResultSet doesn't contain the information i want.
    is there anyone can tell me where i am wrong and the right method? thanx a lot!

    Hi Balaji,
    To hide a column in a table control on screen.
    In the PBO of the screen, inside
    loop with control <tab_ctrl_name>.
    module modify_tab.
    endloop.
    Say for a column, you take group1 as 'ABC'.
    In this module you can use the group for the input/output fields and the display/hide them as per your requirements.
    if <condition>.
    loop at screen.
      if screen-group1 = 'ABC'. "say textbox (column for a table) has group1 as ABC
       screen-invisible = 'X'. "hide a column
       screen-active = ' '.
      endif.
      modify screen.
    elseif <condition>.
    loop at screen.
      if screen-group1 = 'ABC'. "say textbox (column for a table) has group1 as ABC
       screen-invisible = ' '. "display a column
       screen-active = 'X'.
      endif.
      modify screen.
    endif.
    Similarly, you can use this code for other columns also.
    Hope this solves your problem.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Urgent:how to add two table regions to one query region

    hello
    In my page a serach region is there and for that region i need to add two tables and two are based on two different view objects.how can i implemnet this thing please let me know.
    advance thanks

    Hi Wei Fang,
    You can try by creating a 2 line template (1 Template, 2 linetype) under a loop note.
    So your smartform tree structure will be shown like this:
    LOOP
        TEMPLATE1.
    On the LOOP part, pass the internal table of your data to the working areas.
    On the template put all the data of the summary on your first linetype, and put
    the detail data on your second linetype.
    Good luck and hopefully this will solve the problem

  • How to update a table whose column name contains an ampersand?

    Hello,
    I am needing to update a column whose column name contains an ampersand, and cannot figure out a way to do this. Option is not there to have the column name changed.
    Ex:
    UPDATE aircrafts
    SET d&f = 1
    WHERE aircraft_code = '737';
    this returns an error of missing an = sign
    I tried:
    SET 'd'||'&'||'f' = 1
    doesnt work
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Laura

    SET DEFINE OFF
    will stop interpreting the & sign as starting of a lexical parameter on the client.
    Not sure if you have that issue there.
    & might also be a not allowed character in normal column names (didn't test).
    In that case you might need to put the column name in ".
    +example+
    {code}
    UPDATE aircrafts
    SET "d&f" = 1
    WHERE aircraft_code = '737';
    {code}
    Be aware that in this case the column name must be spelled exactly like it was when the table was created.
    Included upper/lower case.
    {code}
    UPDATE aircrafts
    SET "D&F" = 1
    WHERE aircraft_code = '737';
    {code}

  • How to view all tables and column names from a remote database

    Hey Guys,
    I have a database in a remote server. I have the db link and the schema name.. Now i want to view all the tables in the remote database with column names.. I dont have access to that database using sql developer.. But i can view some tables using the db link..Is there any way i can view all the tables with the column names?

    user10683742 wrote:
    Dont think i have DBA access..It gives the following error
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    00942. 00000 - "table or view does not exist"You don't have to have 'dba' access, per se. You just have to have SELECT ALL TABLES privilege. when you use a db_link, you are connecting to the remote db with the user defined in the link, and .. on that db .. you will have the privileges of the user defined in the db link. Exactly as if you had used sqlplus to connect to that db with that user.

  • How to get the table and column details out of desinger database design?

    what is the relation between ci_table_definition, ci_columns, ci_constains and ci_check_constaints?
    I want to get the report on table detail of tablenames, column names, comments, datatype+length and check constraints.
    thanks

    Hi,
    The link is pretty straightforward:
    ci_table_definitions.id = ci_columns.table_reference
    (also correct: ci_table_definitions.ivid = ci_columns.parent_ivid)
    ci_table_definitions.id = ci_check_constraints.table_reference
    Remember to set the Workarea Context - jr_context.set_workarea(' Name of Workarea') - before you start querying, especially when your Repository is versioned.
    good luck.
