Urgent problem: JRE Crashes with Access violation (c0000005)

I have a problem where the JRE crashes with an Access violation (c0000005) at address (6d4218ce).
The JVM is:
java version "1.3.1_01"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1_01)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1_01, mixed mode)The application is swing based, and I have my suspicions that the problem occurs when exec'ing (Runtime.exec()) a script file (deletes data files and FTP's data files around an internal network), but I cannot categorically prove it as yet.
The lack of a .map file does not help in analysing the Dr Watson log file. Does anyone know if a map file is available for 1.3.1?
I have tried to raise this as a bug but as we cannot reproduce it on demand, I cannot get Sun to look into it.
The Dr Watson log file shows:

    The error is always "move block" and leads me to believe that it is a windows memory manager issue but I cannot resolve it. The application connects to an ethernet GPIB interface and to 10 Opto22 Ethernet brains via activeX. The processor runs about 25%, there are no apparent memory leaks, and there is at least 300Mb of free ram when the crashes occur. Any suggestions?

  • JRE Crash with 1.5.0_13 related to printing & PDF export

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem : JRE 1.5.0 (updates 6, 10 and 13 tried) crashes under my software. The problem is encountered with printing / PDF exporting functionality through JFreeReport. Issue is encountered only with dualcore computers. Fortunately the issue isn't encountered with 1.6.0 anymore but I'd still be interested to find some workaround to make the software run with 1.5.0 also (It would be nice not to require users to have 1.6.0) Problem has been detected with both Win XP SP 2 and Vista.
    First I was suspicious because we are using one JNI library but removing that didn't help so that shouldn't be the case.
    After some searching I found a couple of JVM bugs that were marked as duplicates for http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6186524 . Those were related to 2D things and hence printing, fonts, exporting and with some cases dualcore computers were mentioned. However, that bug should be fixed in 1.5.0_10 but upgrading to 1.5.0_10 (or 1.5.0_13) didn't help so it can't be the actual bug.
    Error log, if somebody can make up something: (This error log was got when running through Eclipse with JRE set to 1.5.0_13 but error has been encountered also when running straight with just one JRE (1.5.0_XX) installed to computer.)

    This looks like [bug 6754141|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6754141] in the just-in-time compiler. If you have a support contract you can escalate this to get a fix in a jdk1.5.0 update. Alternatively, there do not seem to be any reports of this in jdk6, so you could try a recent jdk6 update (e.g., jdk6 update 17).

  • URGENT: Problems Loading files with SQL Loader into a BLOB column

    Hi friends,
    I read a lot about how to load files into blob columns, but I found errors that I can't solve.
    I've read several notes in these forums, ine of them:
    sql loader: loading external file into blob
    and tried the solutions but without good results.
    Here are some of my tests:
    With this .ctl:
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE mytable
    REPLACE
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
    number1 INTEGER EXTERNAL,
    cad1 CHAR(250),
    image1 LOBFILE(cad1) TERMINATED BY EOF
    BEGINDATA
    1153,/opt/oracle/appl/myapp/1.0.0/img/1153.JPG,
    the error when I execute sqlldr is:
    SQL*Loader-350: Syntax error at line 9.
    Expecting "," or ")", found "LOBFILE".
    image1 LOBFILE(cad1) TERMINATED BY EOF
    ^
    What problem exists with LOBFILE ??
    (mytable of course has number1 as a NUMBER, cad1 as VARCHAR2(250) and image1 as BLOB
    I tried too with :
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE sample.dat
    INTO TABLE mytable
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
    (cad1 CHAR(3),
    cad2 FILLER CHAR(30),
    image1 BFILE(CONSTANT "/opt/oracle/appl/myapp/1.0.0/img/", cad2))
    sample.dat is:
    1153,1153.JPEG,
    and error is:
    SQL*Loader-350: Syntax error at line 6.
    Expecting "," or ")", found "FILLER".
    cad2 FILLER CHAR(30),
    ^
    I tried too with a procedure, but without results...
    Any idea about this error messages?
    Thanks a lot.
    Jose L.

    > So you think that if one person put an "urgent" in the subject is screwing the problems of
    other people?
    Absolutely. As you are telling them "My posting is more important than yours and deserve faster attention and resolution than yours!".
    So what could a typical response be? Someone telling you that his posting is more important by using the phrase "VERY URGENT!". And the next poster may decide that, no, his problem is evern more import - and use "EXTREMELY URGENT!!" as the subject. And the next one then raises the stakes by claiming his problem is "CODE RED! CRITICAL. DEFCON 4. URGENT!!!!".
    Stupid, isn't it? As stupid as your instance that there is nothing wrong with your pitiful clamoring for attention to your problem by saying it is urgent.
    What does the RFC's say about a meaningful title/subject in a public forum? I trust that you know what a RFC is? After all, you claim to have used public forums on the Internet for some years now..
    The RFC on "public forums" is called The Usenet Article Format. This is what it has to say about the SUBJECT of a public posting:
    =
    The "Subject" line (formerly "Title") tells what the message is about. It should be suggestive enough of the contents of the message to enable a reader to make a decision whether to read the message based on the subject alone. If the message is submitted in response to another message (e.g., is a follow-up) the default subject should begin with the four characters "Re: ", and the "References" line is required. For follow-ups, the use of the "Summary" line is encouraged.
    =
    ([url http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/rfc/1036.html]RFC 1036, the Usenet article format)
    Or how about [url http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/usenet/dont.html]The seven don'ts of Usenet?
    Point 7 of the Don'ts:
    Don't try to catch attention by typing something foolish like "PLEASE HELP ME!!!! URGENT!!! I NEED YOUR HELP!!!" into the Subject line. Instead, type something informative (using normal mixed case!) that describes the subject matter.
    Please tell me that you are not too thick to understand the basic principles of netiquette, or to argue with the RFCs that governs the very fabric of the Internet.
    As for when I have an "urgent" problem? In my "real" work? I take it up with Oracle Support on Metalink by filing an iTAR/SR. As any non-idiot should do with a real-life Oracle crisis problem.
    I do not barge into a public forum like you do, jump up and down, and demand quick attention by claiming that my problem is more important and more urgent and more deserving of attention that other people's problem in the very same forum.

  • IOS 7 simulator crashing with accessibility inspector turned on. Please help on how to fix this.

    Hi All,
    I am developing an application in iOS 7 and want to make some of the controls accessible.
    However I am facing issues with accessibility inspector in iOS 7 simulator as below:
    Steps:
    1. Create one iOS 7 application
    2. Open iOS 7 simulator
    3. Go to --> Settings --> Accessibility and turn on the accessibility inspector switch
    4. Go to home screen (or you may quit the simulator)
    5. Build and run your application in iOS 7 simulator
    Result:
    Application stops working in a while and also simulator freezes
    PS: Even if you launch simulator and some inbuilt iOS application in it with accessibility inspector ON, simulator will freeze and stop working in a while.
    However Accessibility inspeactor works good on iOS 6 simulator.
    Please let me know if there are any specific settings to be done to make accessibility inspector work on iOS 7 simulator.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Problem while working with Access Control List assigned to Group

    Hi,
    We have a following scenario for which Access Control List is not Working.
    We have a group "Webi_Grp" who should acess only Webi Reports (can perform all operations related to Webi).
    Following Steps are performed but still no success...
    Pl. review and provide the solutions.
    1) Create a Group "Webi_Grp"
    2) Create user "user3"
    3) Assign User to a a group (Now user3 is part of Webi_Grp)
    4) Create Access Ctrl List (ACL) "Webi_ACL"
    5) Goto Included Rights section of "Webi_ACL" & select "YES" for all Webi Operations.
    6) User Security in ACL shows
               a) Administrator -> Full Control (Inherited)
               b) Everyone -> No Access
    7) Included Right for ACL has all Webi Rights as "GRANTED", all Deski Rights "DENY", & Few of the General Rights "GRANTED"
    8) Go  to Users & Group
    9) Select "Webi_Grp"
    10) User Security
    11) Add Principal
    12) Add "User3" and its Security as "Webi_ACL"
    13) Thus User Security in "Webi Grp" shows
              a) Administrators -> Full Control
              b) "user3" -> Webi_ACL
    14) Login With "user3", but still cant create any Webi Report
    Pl. let me know any further settings are required or not.

    Purav

    But while I run this query it gives following error "You Donot Have Rights to Access Data in this Universe"
    When I check the rights status in ACL we have following rights granted for "System Universe"
    Create & Edit Query Based on Universe
    Data Access
    Edit Access Restrictions
    New List of Values
    etc... all other rights in this category are granted.
    Still problem persist.
    Could you let me know where else should I check for permissions / rights for data access.

    The only change i observed this morning was the license key of the BI 4 server expired. we were running on temp licenses because we are awaiting for a perm license key from SAP.
    After i removed the temp key and added the new perm keys, i validated and reran the job and to my surprise the job ran successfully.
    We have a BI with DI edge license and BI & DS are integrated installs but we have 2 separate keys i.e. 1 key for BI and 1 for DS. All i want to understand is why did the job fail given that only the BI key expired and not the DS key.
    Has anyone seen anything similar?
    Thanks,

    Hi Gleomar Perez,
    For the above issue,please check with the oracle server name that was given  while adding the repository in the Central Management Console.It should be given as the fully qualified name ( machine.domain.com format).

  • URGENT 6i Forms Builder generate access violation 0xc000005 exception

    Forms builder generate exception on WinNT 4.0 SP6.
    Forms Patchset 12 installed.
    Can't generate fmx !
    Compile all (Shift-Ctlr-K) and after generate file (Ctrl-T) create an exception.
    Please help !
    Thanks

    Try this - I've just written and tested this for 6i - it does detach all the libraries.
    The things to watch are:
    1) Remember to Save the form!
    2) When you detach a library it destroys the reference as well so d2fobg_next() or d2falbg_next() will fail because the pointer is now null - so you have to get the next library before detaching the current one.

  • HOTSPOT JVM crash with EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION

    From a C++ application, I use Invocation APIs to create a JVM and call some Java methods using JNI
    I get a crash in jvm.dll with EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
    when I try to call "getFields" method of java.lang.Class in order to get the Fields of the java class
    This method call, should return a java/lang/reflect/Fields[] on success
    I am able to get the method ID of this method by using pEnv->GetMethodID(..)
    However, when I call this method using CallObjectMethod(..), HotSpt JVM crashes with access violation with the dump given below.
    Any clues on how to debug and find the problem?
    Thanks in advance!
    Sample code
    jclass testerClass = pEnv->FindClass("com/test/Tester");
    jmethodID cid = pEnv->GetMethodID(testerClass,"<init>","()V");

    jmethodID mid = pEnv->GetMethodID(testerClass, "getClass",

    jobject clsObj = (jobject)pEnv->CallObjectMethod(testerObject, mid);

  • ITunes Windows SDK IITUserPlaylist::AddFile access violation

    Hello. I am just try to write simple program for some practice. But iTunes COM for Windows SDK threw me a little surprise.
    I am want to create playlist and add file to it but when i call IITUserPlaylist::AddFile program crash with access violation. I can all other methods like Delete etc.
    Project (MSVC10): http://www76.zippyshare.com/v/34795637/file.html
    Main.cpp: http://pastebin.com/iMYbXwez
    If i call IITLibraryPlaylist::AddFile all was right.
    Just uncomment 95 or 96 line for test.
    Simple C# code works fine:
    iTunesApp itunes = new iTunesLib.iTunesApp();
    IITUserPlaylist playlist = itunes.CreatePlaylist("C# playlist") as IITUserPlaylist;
    IITOperationStatus status = playlist.AddFile("C:\\test.mp3");
    Help me please

    I use vbScript for writing iTunes scripts, and I'm really not familiar with C#, but I think you're sending two arguments into the function when only one is required.
    As a guess either of these would work:
    mainLibrary->AddFile(filePath);
    &status=mainLibrary->AddFile(filePath);
    Depending on whether or not you are going to check the status code to see if the call was successful.

  • Access violation (0xC0000005) at EIP=0x012B60E6 within a dynamically called VI

    Hi
    I have been seeing Access violation (0xC0000005) at EIP=0x012B60E6 within a dynamically called VI.
    The VI is called by reference and is strictly typed.
    The VI controls a function generator, a robot and a microcontroller device.
    All of the above are synchronised using functional globals.
    If I let the code run the FG will operate so I know the top level dynamic VI has defiantly been called and successfully entered, however within that VI as other VI’s are called (there are many) LV crashes with access violation.
    The VI's within the top level VI are using HiD communicatiuoins over USB with the peripheral instrumants.
    The LV crashes are totally random and sometimes the code will operate until the end and close down successfully.
    I can only seem to guarantee smooth operation if I set a breakpoint within the top level VI, then the entire system runs perfectly.
    In fact it seems that even if I remove the breakpoint (after the first break) and close the VI the system will continue to run until close.
    Has anyone any ideas? I have run out!

    Hi MAC1,
    I have been looking at your issue and wanted to ask if you are calling the VI's into Teststand, using the LabVIEW adapter?
    If this is the case, it may be worth looking at another forum post regarding the issue.
    LabVIEW Access Violations- Teststand
    I am currently looking into what could have caused this access violation.
    If you could provide any further information in regards to the top level VI or if you could post it on here, that would be really useful.
    Regards,
    Dom C

    Can someone help me out. I use BODS version 14.1.1.210. I have setup the connection to BW source and imported metadata for my OpenHub - no problem.

    Any good ideas?

    Hello Erik,
    not sure about it, but did you see this post some hours after yours?
    DS 4.1 job aborts with Access Violation
    Also, did you check ST22 to see if it generates any dump?
    And if you're able to check the BODS log files, it might me helpful. They're located at %LINK_DIR%\log directory. Check the names with the execution of the job.
    Hope it helps!
    Regards.

  • Access violation (0xC0000005)

    Hi
    I am getting continuing problem with the crashing and Access violation (0xC0000005) at EIP=0x00962D22.
    When the crash happens the vi is gettting corrupt and impossible to open next time, so I need to work of the back up.
    I tried to recompile everything, change the type defs, update to LabVIEW 12, open on another PC, same thing. I can work for 10min save the work several times do different things, and at one point LV crashes with that error.
    Any ideas what to do? It is really a show stopper for me.
    The report dump below.
    thanks

    pawel,
    I found your post here very interesting as I was having a VERY similar problem.  The only notable difference I could find with my situation is I only seemed to encounter this problem on 64-bit systems, and only when my application was a deployed exe.  However, I too was using a number of 3rd party .ocx and .dll utilities.  But this stubborn Access Violation error was so sporadic (it might have triggered 5 seconds into execution, or 5 hours) it was near impossible to track exactly WHY it was happening.
    Have you tried using the LabVIEW Desktop Trace Execution Toolkit yet?  I used it to tap into my deployed executable on the target machine while monitoring all VI calls, memory adjustements, etc from my development machine.  Although it wasn't a definitive sure-fire way to a solution, it did help me pin-point a pattern.
    For about 80% of my crashes, I noticed the last applicable VI to execute (after filtering out a bunch of typical utility VI calls) was "Wait On ActiveX Event.vi".  After a bit of digging, this VI was retired quite some time ago and has been upconverted from version to version since.  It was written into a library that has been rock solid for years.  Although it seemed to execute fine on my devlopment machine (as source code - not a built exe, 32 bit, 64 bit..whatever) and also functioned on all target 32-bit environments wrapped in an exe, it was actually the culprit to my Access Violation errors.
    I know how frustrating it is to narrow something like this down.  If you're still having issues and you haven't tried that Toolkit, I would suggest giving it a shot.
    Good luck.
