Urgent question on burning cds.

I am getting married in 2 days. My fiance and I want to give cds to our guests as gifts. We spent a lot of time picking our songs, used LightScribe to make a cool label, and last nite started burning them. We had no idea Itunes would not let us burn more than 7! We only need 20 does anyone know how we can do this? Time is running out, and we were really looking forward to this.

I have selected the songs from my playlist ... (emphasis added)
iTunes burns an entire playlist, not a part of one.
So you <a href="<a href="http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93045"> create a playlist  with exactly the songs you want to burn to a CD. Make sure they're all checked and then select (highlight) the playlist itself in the Source List.
The Burn Disc button should appear.

  • Question about burning CDs

I bought a few albums from iTunes to put on my MBA. I want to burn one of the albums onto a CD but I don't have the external optical drive. Is there anyway to do this wirelessly? What should I do?

Do not fear. It sounds like this is music you bought through itunes. You just need to 'authorize' the second computer. Then you can burn the songs to disk. On the second computer, double click one of the songs to play it. iTunes will ask for your username and password. Enter that information. One that it done, and the song plays, you can then burn it to disk.

  • HT203164 Problems with "cloud" music and burning CDs

I  moved my iTunes library to a new computer & now the majority of songs will not burn to CD.  It says they are stored in the cloud & cannot be burned from there. There is a cloud next to songs in my music list. I did not subscibe to Match or Cloud and yet I am prevented from burning CDs as I have in the past.  Seems like every time I download an updated iTunes, it is more complicated and cofusing than the last.  Apple custermer service is no help, as you cannot contact them via email and then only if you have a valid serial number for a product.
How do I burn CDs from the new iTunes that has Cloud blocking it.

    Where is your back up?
Your question is asked and answered everyday. Do a forum search.

When I acknowledge the problem and try to burn CDs from itunes the error message "disk recording is not found" is received.

  • Sometimes iTunes burns CDs with song title info on them, sometimes not

When I burn a CD in iTunes, sometimes the song titles and other info seems to transfer onto the CD so that when I put it back in the disc drive the titles and artists show up on the iTunes track listing of the CD, other times it seems they don't transfer onto the CD so that when I put it back in the disc drive iTunes first tries to get the track info from theCDDB and then just lists the tracks on the CD as Track 1, Track 2, etc. Is there any way to assure iTunes consistently transfers the song titles & other info onto the CDs it burns, so that when I play those CDs in other machines that can display this info, the info is there for it to read?

iTunes recently added the option of embedding CD Text into audio CDs (although the option is disabled by default). If you’ve enabled this feature, it’s likely that your car’s CD player is reading that. I don’t believe that iTunes is enabled to get track info from CD Text. It's possible to harvest track names from CD Text on a Mac with AppleScript. I’m sure it’s possible on a PC as well, although I’m not sure how.
iTunes remembers audio CDs that you've burned and stores their track lists in your library file, so if you burn a CD, then re-insert it in your computer later, it should remember the track names. If you’ve replaced your library file, or the CD in question was burned on a different computer, then iTunes will have no record of having burned the disc, hence no track names.
    Hope that helps.

  • Burning cds with itunes and Windows Vista

It seems like my problems with itunes are never ending on my HP laptop with Windows Vista. Originally, itunes screwed up my disc drive, but then I downloaded the 64 bit version of it and that turned out ok. However, whenever I started itunes it says it wasn't downloaded properly and I won't be able to import or burn cds. I've downloaded it before multiple times to see if that message would go away when I started it up, but it didn't. That was fine for a while because I never burn cds but today I wanted to and it wouldn't work. It would say Disc Recording not found. So, I thought I should upgrade to the new itunes 8.1 but I was afraid to because it might screw up the disc drive again. And of course, it did. I even downloaded the 64 bit version. So I guess my question is, how can I install the 64 bit version without that error message and be able to burn cds?

    paul's onto it.
if you run your DVD/CD diagnostics (in itunes "help > DVD/CD diagnostics", select DVD/CD diagnostics) and you see a 2380 error showing up down near the bottom of the diagnostics (you may need to scroll down a bit), try reinstalling the 64-bit version of the GEAR drivers iTunes uses for importing and burning.
here's a link through to the GEAR drivers. note that there are two different versions of the 64-bit drivers. be sure to get the one that matches your hardware:

  • Registry Settings for Itunes drivers for Importing and burning CDs and DVDs

I have had this issue over and over again and re installed and uninstalled many times. Recently I upgraded to Windows 7 and for a very short time had no issues. I could burn CDS and back up and did not receive the error message on loading ITunes Setup Assistant "Warning The registry settings used by Itunes drivers for importing and burning cd's and dvd's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other cd burning software. Pleae re install Itunes." Unfortunatley I then installed DVD Fab and this issued started again. I tried to restore my pc and uninstalled DVD fab and have no other burn software on my pc and still cant get working. I still get the same error when trying to burn a playlist "no disc recording found". Please advise what I need to do in lamen's terms. Much appreciated.

have you followed instructions also on question number 11 and 12? because u told me that you have printed and i guess it only showed the words. ok. leave itunes installed and follow the >Registry instructions< also when you get to number 11 and 12 instructions, drop them down and follow them. and also follow the rest till it tells you to restart.

  • Unable to burn CDs on MacBook Pro

    HI,
I just bought a new Macbook Pro and I am unable to burn CDs. When I try to burn an Audio CD it starts burning and suddenly aborts saying that there is a medium write error. I also tried burning in Toast Titatinium and had the same problem. I then tried to burn an mp3 data cd directly using the finder and draging files to the CD folder. It also had a problem saying that the device was unable to calibrate the burning power. I have been using Sony CD-R that look pretty good quality and my burner (as my computer) is brand new.
I don't know what to do. I'm a DJ and I bought this computer thinking that it would easily allow me to work with music and that I could easily import and burn, and that certainly has not been the case. I had to ask a friend to burn some urgent music and my CDs and files burned fine in his PC. I just switched to Mac myself but my experience hasn't been too good this far.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I would take it up with Apple since the computer is under warranty. It sounds highly possible that you have a bad optical drive. Please don't mistake this as a "diagnosis" from another user, but just a recommendation of what to do based on the circumstances you've described in your post.
    Good luck.

  • Drivers for burning CDs

    Help needed!
A message that registry settings for Drivers for importing & burning CDs & DVDs is missing appears when opening iTunes.
As advised by the error message I re-installed V 10.6.1.7 (from fresh download) but still get the same message.
iTunes does read CDs but will not burn one.
Ran diagnostics for CD/DVD drive tests. Not sure how to attach them to this question.

  • Can't see/open windows-burned cds

I have 3 Windows XP-burned cds that don't show up on my Mac desktop when inserted.
I know when I burned a disk in Vista recently, it gave me the choice of default or mac-readable and I was able to burn that one correctly. I assumed it was the same deal with XP so I gave the disks to a Windows XP friend to redo and she can't see any instructions to make it mac-readable.
They were burned at different times on two different computers. One has documents that I have the software to open. The other two are .avi movies taken with a digital camera.
How can I ensure that they will be mac-readable?

This is more of a, "How to use Windows XP," than a, "How to use Panther" question. Basically you probably need to make sure the disc is closed, and preferably in some Mac compatible format such as ISO 9660.

  • HT201413 The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  Do I have to uninstall before I re-install iTunes?

Note I am receiving when opening up iTunes:  The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software.  Please reinstall iTunes.
Question:  Do I have to uninstall iTunes and then reinstall?  I am a little hesitant to do this!
    Noelyn

Hi for the message error "Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."
Here are the resolutions I found and it fix the problem for me.
    Resolution
iTunes installs a device filter which helps it work with your optical drive. If this device filter is missing, you will see the message mentioned above. To resolve this issue, reinstall iTunes to put the device filter back in place. To reinstall iTunes, follow the steps in the article below appropriate to your OS:
    HERE http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
If you still get the pop up error "Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."
    Do this

  • Burned CDs with no tags

When importing "burned" CDs into i tunes, how can I label the usual track 1,2 etc. and place them into folders so that I can identify and retrieve them on my i pod Nano (2nd generation)Thanks for assistance.

    Does this answer your question?
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=607302&#607302
The info will have to be entered manually, by right clicking on a track for the CD, select "get info" then "info" and entering the info for each particular track. Then click "next" to add info for other tracks.
You can enter album info for all tracks by highlighting all tracks at once, then right click for the "get info" window and enter info (such as album or artist) for multiple songs.

  • Burned CDs appear as Blank

    Hello, everyone,
Please excuse me if I repeat my question with someone else's (I did make a search though).
I've burned some CDs on my MacBook Pro 17'' about an year ago. I've played the same CDs without any problems. Long time past, I've made certain updates when the Sorftware Update indicated for such (if that's concerns this issue)...
And now, when I insert any of these previously burned CDs, they appear as Blank (any other CDs/DVDs play fine, except these ones).
    I'd appreciate any help!!!
    Kremena

The problem might be a dirty lens
I had the same problem. No burnt disk could be read (or burnt), but factory CD's could.
Cleaning the Superdrive (mac mini-intel 1st-gen) solved it for me. I used a cleaning cloth for glasses wrapped around a CD. A real CD-cleaner Disk or pressurized air might be a more recommended way of cleansing.
It might also be a too weak power supply, but that is not so likely with Macs.
Also take a look at this thread:

And read the "crazy solution" at post #9.
