URL item is not working

I try to create a url item (e.g http://www.oracle.com) but when the url runs it returns the message 'The parameter is incorrect'. The <<http server>> and <<http server port>> fields in global settings portlet are correct. Can anyone help me?

Looks like the proxy server details in the global settings is wrong. Have you given your http server settings there?
You need a different proxy server and port for accessing beyond a firewall.

SharedServices and Workspace URL's are not working in EPM System 11.1.2.2
I have installed EPM system V11.1.2.2 in single server environment (MS 2008 Server R2) with following components:
* Foundation Services
* HFM
* FDM
Have used embedded Weblogic server as application web server and Oracle HTTP server as web server. The installation was successful.
While configuration,
1) I selected the option to deploy web applications SharedServices and Workspace to a single managed server. The applications got successfully deployed to EPMServer0.
2) Also, I selected to configure Oracle HTTP server as web server.
Both these steps were successful.
But SharedServices and Workspace URL's are not working. Getting 404 error.
SharedServices : http://inmum01hyp05.internal.vodafone.com:19000/interop/index.jsp
Workspace : http://inmum01hyp05.internal.vodafone.com:19000/workspace/
When I checked Weblogic admin console, EPMServer0 is in SHUTDOWN state, tried to start it but it goes in ADMIN state instead of RUNNING.
Checked EPMServer0 log at "D:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\EPMServer0\logs" and found the error given at the end of this message.
Can anyone please suggest a solution for this.

today's update:
* Uninstalled EPM system V11.1.2.2 completely and after rebooting the server installed EPM system V11.1.2.2 again.
* During configuration, deployed SharedServices and Workspace to single managed server EPMServer0 on Weblogic server and configured to Oracle HTTP server as web server. Configuration seems successful.
* Started EPM system.
* checked Weblogic admin console - EPMServer0 goes into ADMIN state from STARTING.

According to your description, my understanding is “find an item” search box in a custom list not work in your environment.
As search box and “find an item” search box in your home page are working, so the search service application is working.
Do you have any customzation to the particular custom list ?
If No, I suggest you can full crawl the data in Central Administration ->Manage Service Application->” Search Service Application”-> Manage Content Sources” to test if it works.
Also, please check if you have set "Allow items from this list to appear in search results" in list settings->Advanced Setting to true

Does using self-signed cert. on ISE server has anthing to do with url redirect being not working

I am setting up wired ISE environment. Everything is going fine, except url redirect is not working.
I just wondering, if using self-signed certificate on ISE server has anothing to do with the problem ?.

Hi,
As long as you have not changed the hostname or the domain name (and dns is accurate). You should only receive the certificate warning but still get redirected without any issues.

Review your default template. Probably is 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN.
Reactive the version D and check again.
Also, you are able to modify the webitems on Export to Excel on 'BUTTON_TOOLBAR_2' -> Button list number 4.
And, you are able to check the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT, in case of configuration.
If you want to remove/add new items, I suggest you to save as another name. SAP does not allow to modify delivered objects
ex:. 0Objects.

Hi. On this page I've got two photo galleries. For some reason the Description in the Manage Items tool only works some of the time. Seems to be quite random as to when it will/won't work. Is there a reason for this?

for every iweb photos page iweb generates an rss.xml file with it, the captions are kept in the rss.xml .
so you can use ajax method to read the rss.xml and figure out what need to be manipulated.
there is no tutorial of any kind for iweb ajax widgets, I have not seen any one yet to crack an iweb widgets (this forum or elsewhere); so you are on your own.
that said you can hyperlink photos page captions and thumbnails with simple javascript (simple mapping lookup), but you still need to know javascript and iweb widgets.

thumbnails and captions are hyperlinked to apple, ggogle and yahoo.

Bookmark "star" in URL bar is not working

I'm clicking on the "star" to bookmark this page. It is not working and doesnt seem to be doing anything. The star shows it's animation on click, but does not allow me to save a bookmark.

Make sure that you do not double-click the highlighted star.
Just to be sure that you understand how it works:
* Clicking the star in the location bar will bookmark the page in the "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder and the star turns yellow (blue on Mac) to show that.
* If the URL in the location bar is bookmarked (star at the right end is yellow/blue) then click the highlighted star or use "Bookmark This Page" (Ctrl+D) to edit the properties of the bookmark (name, location) and move it to another folder or remove the bookmark.
* The "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder shows in the sidebar and the Library, but not in the Bookmarks menu drop down list.
* Bookmarks > "Bookmark This Page" (Ctrl+D) will bookmark the page in the Bookmarks Menu folder (you need to confirm that).

I upgraded to version 9 from version 8. The following items do not work properly - menu, home page, navigation bar, wheel click. I backed up to version 8, and none of this stuff works right. How do I fix this?

When I open Firefox, the bookmark menu is a little tab in the upper left corner. If I go to view and un-click bookmark menu and then view, click it, the standard menu bar shows up. The Back and Forward buttons don't work. The navigation window does not show the URL of the current page. When opening, the home page does not come up. The wheel click works on the bookmark bar, but not within a page. The menu (file, edit, etc) does not work after the first page. Version 8 worked well. When I upgraded to version 9, all this trouble started. I backed up to version 8, but the problem persists.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

By using the above methods I can have swf or mp4 video url but when I am loading it, It is not working giving error message "File not found/ IO Error". I have read that if use escape character then it will work but I have used escape character also but it is not working.
Humble request you to please advise how can I solve this issue.

Starting in KitKat, Google requires that applications have permission to access files on the system. You must specifically add either the READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permissions in order to access files. Adding either one of those permissions should let you read/access files on the device. Prior to KitKat, you didnt have to have these permissions listed in the manifest to access files.

Concatenating a string in a URL syntax does not work (syntax error)

I am trying to print a Report in PDF format. The code is:

GLOBAL_URL should carry the value ( a sring) ----> http://oasdev.oh.gov.
Therefore I changed it to the following code:
select '<a href="GLOBAL_URL/reports/rwservlet?GDMS_ACR&Y='||:P106_YEAR||'&B='||:P100_BUSINESS_UNIT_ID||'&C='||:P106_COMMISSION_ID||'&d=('||TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'MMDDYYYYhhMISS')||')", target=_new> Print PDF Version of the report </a>' url from dual
But it does not work. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

When you do a select, you need to select into a variable..
select ' Print PDF Version of the report ' url INTO <Variable>from dual
Are you trying to run an Oracle Report from APEX??

Web URL - Variable input not working

Hi There,
I have got following URL for one of my web application -
http://cccbwde1.xxx.com:8120/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&CMD=LDOC&INFOCUBE=ZSC_O01&QUERY=QZSC_O01_5002_TEST
and it works fine. It has got a few variables and as parameter passing I would like to pass on default value to variable.
Say one of the variable used is S_plant and supply default value 6011 to it, my new URL looks like

language=EN&CMD=LDOC&INFOCUBE=ZSC_O01&QUERY=QZSC_O01_5002_TEST*&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&

problem I am facing is that it does not show and default value while displaying variable entry screen. Please suggest.

there is a possibility to modify WAD applications by using parameters to call Web applications ([SAP Help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/43/ef05462480025ae10000000a1553f7/content.htm]). Just tried it with
a dummy query on our system and it works for queries which are executed directly from Query Designer as well.
Just give it a try like this extension:
&BI_COMMAND_1-BI_COMMAND_TYPE=SET_VARIABLES_STATE
&BI_COMMAND_1-VARIABLE_VALUES-VARIABLE_VALUE_1-VARIABLE_TYPE=VARIABLE_INPUT_STRING

&ITEM. syntax not working correctly in logout_url

Hello all,
I have made my own logout procedure (which is part of a package) and am calling it from logout url as follow:
web_tool_authentication.logout?p_username=&APP_USER.&p_this_flow=&APP_ID.&p_next_flow_page_sess=&APP_ID.:1:&SESSION.
When I run the htmldb app, the &APP_USER. item is not correctly substitued in the logout url. It treats &APP_USER. as a literal value. This, however, is not the case for &APP_ID. and &SESSION. Does anyone know why this is occurring? Thank you for any suggestions.

The problem is that &LOGOUT_URL. is a substitution item that might itself contain other substitution items. We don't do recursive substitutions on that particular name, we just replace the occurrences of the commonly used items in a logout url. Perhaps APP_USER should be one of those, but it presently is not.

Speakable items dose not work

Hallo,
in Bedinungshilfen, wenn ich das Menü Speakable Items markiere tauchen keine Einstellungen auf.

In my experience it is simply unusable, SIRI on iOS can do a very good job of my very clear Scottish accent, Dictation even works really quite well on Mavericks for me, but the whole UI and UX of speakable items is riddled with bugs and inconsistencies, it does not work with my USB audio mic, even though Dictation does!! (Yes,I have selected the correct inputs) - it's poorly supported and an insult to the people who need it more than i do.
I got it to work just twice in over 100 attempts, even using the key listening toggle, i had to throw a faux cheesy american accent to get one of those to work !
The attention to the important details has gone down-hill over recent years with Apple, it's all gone a tad superficial and bling imho
