URL parameter value with : not displayed correctly on page

Hi,
I am working on a page with an interactive report. One of the report columns is hyperlinked to another page (Delete Page). This link passes an id and a title to the Delete page such that its displays a confirmation message to the end user before actually performing the delete. If the title contains a ":" the text after the ":" is not displayed on the page (albeit visible in the URL on the top)
Is this because the ":" seperates parameters in an APEX URL and therefore the text after the ":" is taken as the next URL parameter?
How can we solve this problem?
Regards,
Priya Jetley

Hi
Yes - Apex will see the ":" as a parameter separator and will ignore everything after any that exist in the "with these values" parameter at the end of the url.
You can get around this in two ways:
1 - Escape your title - replace ":" with "%3A" in your sql statement
2 - Do not pass the title in the link but use a computation on the delete page to retrieve this value for display

  • Link URL containing feed: is not displayed correctly in the status bar

When a link contains feed: in the URL, it is not displayed correctly in the status bar.
    The actual URL is
    a href="feed:http://www.....com/feed/"
but the URL shown in the status bar is
    feed://http//www.....com/feed/
IE8 shows the correct URL in the status bar. Not sure if this is a problem, but thought I would report it.

Such a feed works for me even if it is displayed differently then you expect on the status bar.

    Hi, Saro,
    >
I have taken a std. report to customize, and the name of the report is Asset Retirements from Fixed Asset module.
From the existing base query, i have added some query to customize it.
I have summed  the cost column in the report using summary column.
For example, im passing a parameters which displays 5 lines in the report output. Im getting the cost value correctly in all the 5 lines, but when i tried to sum all the 5 lines, it is taking the first line of cost value and it is not summing the cost value of all the 5 lines in the report. I dont know why this problem occurs.
Summary column should be place one level up of the query and set the following values under summary
    Function
    Source

  • Selecting an lov parameter value sometimes not passed correctly

When selecting a value from an LOV parameter, sometimes the parameter value doesn't seem to get passed correctly to the data template query.
For example, let's say I have the following LOV parameter called "risk":
    Some Risk
    New Risk
    Other Risk
    Last Risk
When I select "Some Risk", I would get correct results and when viewing the "Data" xml, I can see the parameter with the right value:
    <RISK>Some Risk</RISK>
But when I select "New Risk" the results are incorrect and the xml shows:
    <RISK />
as if the value was not passed as the bind parameter value for the dataset query.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Is this a BIP bug or is there a workaround?

    Hi, thanks for the reply.
The LOV is of "SQL Query" type (not fixed data) and the values were retrieved from the database.
Supposing this was the sql query for my "risk" parameter LOV:
    select dimvaltl.GENERIC_VAL_NAME
    from GENERIC_VAL_TL dimvaltl,
    GENERIC_TL dimtl
    where dimtl.GENERIC_NAME = 'Risk'
    and dimvaltl.GENERIC_ID = dimtl.GENERIC_ID
    order by dimvaltl.GENERIC_VAL_NAME
And supposing this was the sql query in the data template dataset:
    select pdimv.ID
    from GENERIC_V pdimv
    where pdimv.NAME = 'Risk'
    and pdimv.VALUE in (:risk)))
If risk is empty, obviously the query would not work. I noticed the xml generated sometimes show the selected parameter value and sometimes don't, as if BIP is not passing it to the dataset query as bind parameter value.
Incidentally I have other lov parameters that works fine, the only difference I can think of is that for this LOV query I am doing a join instead of a simple select statement from one table.

  • Forms values are not displayed correctly

This is happening on the client view. I have a custom form and after some Windows updates on user's laptop, the text field values started stopping to display in the form. If I click on View mode then the text values shown and change back to Edit the form
now text values show up in the text field.
Another thing is when trying to print the view out, text values are not shown up at all. I tried to upgrade user to IE11 and same issue. Using Firefox then text values are shown in print preview but not in Editing. I don't want users to use different browser
    rather than IE.
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
Since the issue happens after some Windows Updates, I would suggest the user log on another machine and see if the issue persists. If the issue only happens on this laptop, you can manually uninstall the update patch you doubt to test
the issue. Go to Control Panel->Programs and Features->View installed Updates->”right click” and “uninstall”.
Meanwhile, add the SharePoint sites to a trusted zone in IE settings.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
If you're using a theme you can try to temporarily switch to the '''Default''' theme in Tools > Add-ons > Appearance. • Hoefler text ornaments font is not displaying correctly in Pages

I've imported an existing document from Appleworks into Pages. I am using Hoefler Text Ornaments (HTO) font occasionally, using the pointing finger. Pages indicates that the font is HTO, but displays the following key: ']' which is the proper key to press in HTO to get the pointing finger. All the ornaments are missing. I've used keyboard viewer and indeed the viewer indicates that there are no ornaments only normal text.
I've confirmed that the font is named correctly, that the finger is part of the font, and that the original document displays correctly. I'm guessing that the HTO font is corrupted in Pages. What can I do?
Thanks very much for your help.

    Frank,
You're absolutely right. There's a button in the character palette labeled Favorites that will let you store glyphs. I think you and Gerry both have workable ideas. You can use the character palette or store special characters in a document.
A question, Gerry: why use another program to store the characters? Since the user is already working in Pages, why not create a Pages document, then paste in the character he/she might want to save? What am I not understanding about this?

  • Percentage Values are not displayed correctly when Calculated Item feature

I have developed an OBIEE answer with multiple pivot tables. Each of the Pivot Tables contains a mix of $ Amount and Percenatge columns. I have to display the totals as the last row of each Pivot Table. For reasons I am yet to figure out, some of the totals were not working. Hence, I used the "Calculated Item" feature with sum(*) as the formula to get the Totals. This is giving me the correct results for $ Amount columns but not for the % columns.
The system seems to be summing up the row-level percentages to arrive at the total percentage, which is not the expected bhavior.
    Sample data:
    Products| Dist. FG| VPE %| Mfg. FG| Mfg. FG VPE %
    Product1| $58| 1% | $1 | 100%
    Product2| $45| (0%) | $36 | 24%
    Product3| $22| 0% | $12 | (40%)
    Product4| $1 | (0%) | $9 | 0%
    Product5| $41 | 2% | $15 | 15%
    Total | $166 | 3% | *$73* | *100%*
    Total - Calculate Item (sum(*))
    Total Mfg. FG - Correct
    Total Mfg FG VPE% - Incorrect (Expected value is ~ 9 %)

    Thanks for the response, Andre.
As I mentioned, The default total row is not producing the correct results for reasons I am yet to figure out.
We are using OBIEE 10g (10.3.4)
Percentages work well with default total, but here we need the same result through the calculated item.

  • Why are TypeKit fonts not displaying correctly in Pages (iWork)?

I have just subscribed to TypeKit and am experiencing highly peculiar behavior from the two fonts I’m using in Pages (iWork): Basically, fonts in my document don’t respond appropriately to requested changes in style. For example, if I increase the point size by one point using the the formatting commands built into Pages, the font drops a point size. I’ve had the same experience using the kerning command, where the kerning decreases when I have set it to increase. (So far, the only fonts I’ve been using have been Futura PT and Proxima Nova.)
Look at the example in the screenshot: “FEATURED EXPERT” on the top line shows in Pages as being 24pt Futura PT Book. However, “SOLO,” a few lines down, which is definitely displaying as smaller, shows as 25pt Futura PT
In a potentially related issue, when I reopened this same document today, text boxes were suddenly too small for the text (again in Futura PT and Proxima Nova). It was as though Pages was suddenly reading those two fonts differently.
I have had no issues with other (non-TypeKit) fonts in the same document.
Anyone else experiencing anything similar? Any suggested fixes? I'm reluctant to unsync/resync the two affected fonts (the only ones I have sync'd to date) because I don't want to wreck the document!

Thanks, Christopher. After I posted my original question, I did come to realize that it was Helvetica not Future PT showing. Here’s what happened, and here’s why I still need some guidance…
The document dropped Future PT because when my wifi signal dropped, the Creative Cloud app displayed this error symbol (see graphic) in my menu bar.
At that point, my computer could no longer access my TypeKit fonts and the document reverted to the system's Helvetica default.
This was not an isolated incident.
If I turn wifi off manually, there is no issue and CC continues to operate in the background as it should, with TypeKit fonts still available.
However, if the wifi drops out on its own, I get the above error symbol and I then lose access to my TypeKit fonts. Very rarely, the CC app will self-correct when the signal is restored. More often than not, I must quit the CC app and relaunch it in order to get things back to normal.
This doesn’t strike me as normal behavior Have you ever encountered anything like it? Do you know of  a fix that will allow the CC app to self-correct when the wifi signal is restored?
    Any assistance will be appreciated!
    Thanks!
P.S. TypeKit troubleshooting doesn’t address this particular issue.

  • InDesign CS4 page numbering not displaying correctly in Pages Panel

    Hello,
I searched the forums for a solution to my problem before posting. I am sorry if I'm doubling someone's question but here I go:
I noticed this problem I have about 6 month ago. When I create a simple document with automatic page numbering everything is fine. When I try and create a section (i.e. I want my numbering to start at 1 at page 3) it actually works however in the Pages Panel the pages are displayed with their basic numbers. You will agree this is rather confusing. I've tryed different files, same files on different computers and so on. The problem has to do with my installation of InDesign CS4 and I suppose it's some kind of a display option I accidentally turned on.
Could someone please suggest a solution? Thank you!

    Hi,
I see at least 3 errors
    1. <RegionRenderer> <encodeAll> The region component with id: pt1:r1 has detected a page fragment with multiple root components.
the page fragment should only have a single component under the jsp:root tag. If you see more than one, wrap them in e.g. an af:panelGroupLayout or af:group component
    2. SAPFunction.jspx/.xml" has an invalid character ".".
check the document (you can open it in JDeveloper if the customization was a seeded one. Seems that editing this file smething has gone bad
    3. The expression "#{bindings..regionModel}" (that was specified for the RegionModel "value" attribute of the region component with id "pePanel") evaluated to null.
"pageeditorpanel" does seem to be missing in the PageDef file of the page holding the region
