The warranty is not and has never been International. Warranty and support are only valid in the country of origin. The only exception is for devices sold in the EU where the EU is treated as one country for warranty and support purposes.

I am curious if possibly the hotel has some sort of VOIP block on. Have you tried Skype? Did you talk to the hotel staff? My husband is traveling to Milan in a couple of days and I wonder if he will run into the same issue. He has had no problems from Istanbul but he is staying in a corporate apartment there. Since it is only the headset that is the problem and not the iPhone it would be better to just buy a new set and not let yourself be frustrated over it. If you send anything to your sister before the one-year warranty is over, include the headset so she can exchange it at an Apple store.

Texting to the USA from the UK

I'm not sure where to put this, but, can anyone explain the process of texting to the USA from the UK. Do I need to add anything before the number I'm texting to? If that makes sense.
Also, this person is also only on holiday, therefore with 02, not an American phone.

So you are texting a UK phone (thats in the US) from a UK phone (thats in the UK)?
In that case you don't need to do anything, the network will route it automatically.
For texting you back your friend will need to insert the country code before the number. A quick google search will tell you exactly what they need to do.

I had started my service in February of 2013. February of 2014, I was told that I would be getting my deposit back around May 2014. I was good with that, I added 2 more lines to my plan for that ONE reason, that I was getting it back or credited to my account. Around April 27-28th, not sure of exact date, I spoke to someone in financial services department and I was told that my deposit should be applied around May 7,2014. She then set up a payment arrangement for May 7, for my bill. On May 9, I called and spoke to someone else in financial services, where I was told my deposit got pushed back to August 2014 because of a returned check, which is ACTUALLY A CANCELLED PAYMENT MADE BY ME, because the amount that was scheduled was smaller than the actual amount. The next 2 days I made payments for the GREATER amount. I requested to speak to someone in the treasury department, and was told there is NOT a direct line to them, they can only be contacted by email, which I could NEVER find an email for them or for the corporate office to speak to someone higher up. I called AGAIN this morning to get a number or email and I was given the number to ANOTHER CALL CENTER, and was NOT able to get anything resolved!! I am fed up, and DONE WITH VERIZON WIRELESS. I HAVE ALREADY PLACED AN ORDER WITH ANOTHER CARRIER, AND I AM TERMINATING MY CONTRACT WITH VERIZON. I CAN'T EVEN SPEAK TO SOMEONE IN THE CORPORATE OFFICE, WHICH I BELIEVE IS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! #NOMOREVERIZONWIRELESSPROBLEMS#

i think icloud should let you update your purchases so that the games will sync to your new computer and they will be backed up. i am not sure how to do this so you do not lose the levels you have completed.
if not can you export the game to the new computer with the current settings?
or another way is to sync to the new computer and redo all the levels you have completed again and it should take you less time?

Moving to the USA from the UK with an unlocked iPhone - what options?

I currently have a UK iPhone 3GS on O2. The phone has been unlocked legitimately by O2 (i.e. Not jail broken). I am now relocating to the USA with my employer and want to obviously take and use my iPhone.
Since my phone is unlocked to any network I'm hoping I will be able to buy a 3G sim card from any provider (preferably T-Mobile) when I get to the USA and this should work when I put it in the iPhone and change the relevant settings - like apn.
If anyone has any experience of doing this or a link to some advice it'd be greatly appreciated.

Ok, one of my problems is that when I arrive it will take me a few weeks to get a social security number and only t-mobile will give me a sim without a ssn - but edge for a few weeks will be better than no iPhone.

If you purchase an iPhone that is unlocked (which to the best of my knowledge are available only from the Apple Stores), then yes, it would work in the UK. Note, though, that the warranty on the iPhone is not international. A US iPhone can be serviced only in the US. Note as well that in the US, you will pay sales taxes which are not reflected in the normally-quoted price, so the price benefit over purchasing in the UK is not as large is it might appear, if that's your rationale for purchasing in the US.
iPads, as long as you don't get the Verizon version, are not locked to any carrier.

Users do not have control over the language of the Mac App Store or iTunes stores for a particular country or region. It is what it is and can't be changed.
