USB Audigy NX Probl

My headphone jack works fine but when I unplug it to use my speakers they dont play any sound and my microphone no longer works either. They have been working fine until I tried it today.

When you remove the headphones, does the speaker configuration change? Check Speaker Settings and see what it is currently set to. If you are using 5. speakers make sure it is set to 5. and make sure as you plug in headphones that it switches to headphones and back when it is removed.

Quake 4 Will not start with USB Audigy 2 NX Connec

Anyone playing Quake 4 successfully with the USB Audigy 2 NX installed? Will there be a driver update so this game will play? Activision was no help. When I disconnect mine I can play the game fine... other than no sound.
How about a driver update Creative?

I got the same problem. The issue is that Quake4 launches with OpenAL enabled by default and causes the game to quit to the desktop. Try disabling the card and launch Q4 and you will see it works with no sound. ALot of people are using default sound card drivers or onboard sound to fix the issue until a patch. I found if you install OpenAL or Creative beta OpenAL drivers work but cause issues in game with stutter or cracking. Im still on the hunt for a issue since now I cant load my Creative control panel since I loaded the beta OpenAL drivers. Hope this helps

USB Headset and Audigy 2 probl

I've got an Audgy 2 soundcard, with the latest drivers installed, and I'm running across a problem that I believe has to do with a USB headset I just purchased. It's just a standard Audigy 2 card, I've had it for awhile and I'm using the latest drivers for it. The card works great, but for some reason lately it's just been putting sound out over two speakers instead of all fi've. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the headset, which is a Logitech USB Premium Headset 350 model thing. If I uninstall and reinstall the creative console it'll work again. I've noticed when it's not working the creative audio console won't let me select what type of speaker setup I have to sync with the windows one. And by "won't let me select" I mean there are no options at all to choose from. I'm pretty sure this is caused by the USB headset, but I wanted to get another opinion. Am I pretty much screwed if I want to keep using this headset?

sounds like i'm overstating the obvious but if its a A2 zs theirs a headphone socket
in the middle of the external unit.

why use logitech speakers? with creative speakers you might not have this problem

This would be wonderful but, the older firmware makes the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX, unresponsi've in -+ 5 minutes.
All Programs are unresponsi've after 5 minutes, if I unplug the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX my programs start to respond again. Resetting the firmware to factory default (v..05050), I get no problems, except that the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX response on a USB 2.0 port as if it'ss plug-in on a USB . Port.
I don?t have any problems with any other USB 2.0 hardware! They all work fine and I DON?T get any error telling me I would get High speed if the hardware was plug into a USB 2.0 plug. BECAUSE IT IS A USB 2.0 PORT!
The problem lies in the with in the firmware.

The drivers Creative releases are based on the Extigy.
If I look at the drivers you write for the PCI range (Audigy, Audigy 2 and Audigy 4 Series) they are better.
The Sound Blaster USB Range, Especially the Audigy Range can do so much more with the right drivers.
I suggested, you create a driver for the USB Composite Device. That emulates a PCI slot. This would allow the External Sound Blaster USB range to install your new and very advance PCI drivers.

Vista Ultimate 64-bit OEM edition & USB Audigy 2

Need help, please. Im so confused now (after reading thru these forums all day) as to what exactly I need to do to get my brand new USB Creative Audigy2 NX working with my Vista Ultimate 64bit OEM edition. Every other thing I have on my pc works just fine, except this stupid USB audigy2 NX. I just got rid of my XtremeMusic pci card as Im lacking space inside the PC, and spent big $$$ on this USB unit. But it doesnt work
!!! I can get all the control panels working (such as bass settings, eax etc) but I simply get NO sound whatsoever. Whereas the sound works fine thru the motherboard ports (asus P5N32-sli deluxe with lga775 3.80ghz chip + 4gig 667mhz OCZ ram)?Can someone please tell stupid old me how to get the USB Creative Audigy2 NX working in 5. speakers in Vista 64bit Ultimate ? I dont understand what I need to do. I believe the latest July drivers dont work (well, they dont give me any sound), the february drivers dont seem to be working for me, do I use the XP64bit drivers? What do I need to do? Got print out upon print out from these forums here in front of me, spent 5hrs last night trying to get it working to no avail, and now I think Ive read to many different things and have no idea of where to start. 9hours later and Ive given up. I cant get the Vista 64 Ultimate to work with the Audigy 2Nx usb sound card. Im very angry and very frustrated (not to mention very tired from the 2 late nights Ive spent trying to work it out). Im not a PC-noob, but am only 4days into my Vista ownership................... Im guessing now, after much research, that there will never be a driver that gets these units to work with Vista 64bit. thats pretty weak Creative. However, I dont want to use crappy onboard sound for my gaming.What is the suggestion?Should I be looking at returning this unit, and buying either the X-Fi Xtremegamer?Fatality Pro as?a highend device, or the X-Fi Xtremegamer for $00 less? Problems installing USB Audigy

Heya!I'm having trouble installing my audigy2nx to my laptop. I had it working before, but as my harddri've crashed I had to send the laptop in and am now reinstalling my system. I start windows, plug in, then turn on the audigy and the hardware wizzard appears. I cancel that and start the install off the cd. Both drivers and media-source install with no trouble, it asks me to reboot, I do, and the next time windows starts the creative bar appears, but can't detect my soundblaster. Only the hardware wizzard starts. Nothing is listed in my device manager under sound or usb devices as creative. Only in my add/remove programs I can see the Drivers, the media source and the system information. Things I've tried:Cleansweep uninstall as described on the website using msconfig and D:\Audio\Drivers\CTZAPXX.exe sbusb.ini (btw - found two different descriptions: do you have to delete the creative folder in program files? And do you need to use regedit's)and reinstall. Turning off my anti-virusTrying to install it without the audigy connected(doesn't work, install moans and aborts)Deinstalled my onboard sound(didn't have to that the last time(ran the audigy when it was on and otherwise the onboard took over)?and now I've got no sound whatsoever - thanks for that advice from the email - support, btw)Only installing the drivers and nothing elseplugging it into different usb-plugs?My system is up to date winXP pro sp2. and as I said the hardware is the same as when it was running before apart from that HD obviously. I presume there is a really easy answer to this like some stupid little box that needs checking/unchecking. I've now installed and deinstalled it loads of times and it's upsetting me. There must be some detail of installing or deinstalling I'm missing or I should know. I've followed the install and uninstall to the letter. Do you have to use regedit in the uninstall? And after using that msconfig bit - do u leave its setting for install or not? I've tried both, but just checking. The only bit of software that has changed since before reinstalling is the antivirus(avast) which I've turned off each time during install. Otherwise the only thing I can think of is the anti-adware program (adaware Se personal & spybot search and destroy)that offered some system immunisation, which might get in the way, but neither of them run in the background as far as I can tell. I'm haveing these problems when playing Aquanox 2 and Tomb Raider : Legend. It starts with a few 'click' sounds, goes on with stuttering and repeating some sounds very frequently and ends in serious game laggs. Curiously I don't have these problems at Oblivion or UT2k4.
I allready tried removeing the soundcard from the system and activating the onbaord sound-device, which at my Asus P5 supports 5. surround sound, too. I ran into the same malfunction. This seems to be a problem of Asus motherboards.
My System:
P4 3,400 Mh
2048 Mb DDR 2 Ram by G.E. I.L.
Gainward Nvidia Geforce FX 6800 GS
60 Gb Harddisk with 8Mb cache by 7200 rpm
So it's impossible that my System is infirior. I allready tried shutting down the HD expansion in the BIOS, but this only provided me a few minutes more, until the noise starts again.
I guess we'll have to turn our questions to ASUS.

Audigy SE probl

Hi all.
Just installed an Audigy SE board and I've got some problems I need some help with.
I'm running Win XP Pro SP2
Installed the board on a ECS nForce 570 motherboard.
I disabled the onboard audio for the motherboard.
And I have a 4 speaker set up, with subwoofer. (Cambridge Soundworks FPS 2000)
When I do the speaker test, using the Creative speaker settings program, all my speakers are working correctly.
But.....
When I play a Windows system sound, I only get sound out of 'front' left and right speakers.
When I play a video or mp3 with Windows Media player, I only get sound out of front right.
I already uninstalled all software and drivers, uninstalled the sound card and then reinstalled all of it again with the same results.
Anyone have any ideas as to what my problem is?

Creative Audigy 4 Probl

Hi to all, i tried searching for a similar problem iam currently experiencing but couldn't find any.
I have just installed a new Creative Audigy 4 sound card to replace my onboard AC'97 sound card. I have disabled the onboard sound card from the Bios, and also uninstalled the relevant drivers. I then installed the sound card in the PCI slot and started installing the drivers, so far so good. After completing the installation, I went to configure the soundcard, equalisers and stuff so as to arrange the sound, but after a few minutes the computer hangs up and gives me a brief Blue screen and restarts immediately after. Could it be the PCI slot ? or could it be a conflict ? I am not sure, any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the very same problem. Along with that I can't seem to install the latest driver form the Creative site. I get the stop sign and "You have previously installed drivers without rebooting. Please reboot and try the install again" or something to that effect. I try rebooting and it still does the same thing. I not sure if it's a conflict between my onboard AC97 because I uninstalled the drivers for it. PLEASE help. Very frutrating. Can't play my Flight Sim as I like. Keeps rebooting.

USB 2.0 probl

Hi i've got a Muvo 4gb and i've just got a new computer with xp home edition SP2 and its got usb2 ports. When i connect my mp3 player to it its recognized as a muvo but as i try to install it nothing happens, windows says drivers missing or something like that.
When i stuck it into my other computer (xp pro sp2) with an usb port it works. But i want to use my usb2 connection so please help me i've treid updating my windows but nothing helps!

Sounds like a USB compatibility issue with your PC, if the other PC is working fine. I would buy a good quality PCI USB2 card e.g. Adaptec, and see if this works.

Audigy 2zs probl

Hi there,
I've been having an issue with my Audigy 2zs card lately. I transferred it into a new computer (worked perfectly in the old one) and now it works flawlessly for some programs and terribly on others. I'll compare 2 games, Il-2 Pacific Fighters and Rome:Total war. Both are extremely hungry games when it comes to system resources and will happily consume every bit of processing power and memory I throw at them! My Sound in IL-2 is flawless, absolutely perfect. However, when I try to play Rome:Total War the sound goes to crap. I get stutters, crackling, distortion, it's so bad it makes the game almost unplayable (at least with sound).
I tried all the suggestions in the sticky; I reinstalled the card, made sure it's not sharing an IRQ with anything else, turned off all the extra hardware, etc. I am at a complete loss as to why it is doing this.
The games I used are just an example of 2, like I said... Some stuff it works fine on, other stuff it is just terrible (same problem though, on the games it doesn't work with) but these were all games that worked fine with it on the other computer. I don't think it's a system wide problem because it is selecti've as to what it works with and what it doesn't. Anyone have any ideas?

Are you using AA when playing Rome Total War? If your graphics card bogs down it may also stall the rest of the system including sound. This doesn't happen in all games due their different working nature, but graphics settings may affect sound settings in others. (or it could be the developer wanted to have sound always synchronised with video, but if the graphics card begins to fall behind it will also cause the sound to stutter).
So play around with your graphics settings to see if it hel

PS: Are you getting the problem with all sound options or just with EAX 3.0? Test the other options as well to isolate the problem if possible.

Aux 2 Soundblaster Audigy platinum probl

I used to have problems with using aux 2 (red/white on the front panel of audigy platinum) , bascially
because the volume control in windows didnt have aux 2 volume control under advanced. After contacting support and updating my drivers I think with the webupdate on creative.com aux 2 was listed in the advanced volume control thingy, so I could check the box and untick the mute setting.
But after some formatting and new installation of my soundcard I cant find a way to get the aux 2 volume control back. Its just not listed and I am not able to hear sound through my speakers. I tried all updates that are downloadable from creative.com ; also the autoupdate software of creative. No luck at all.
Can someone please help me to get my aux 2 volume control back ?Greetz

Muvo² 4 GB USB and recovery probl

Hello,
i own my Muvo for 8 months now. Yesterday it woke up and did not want to do anything, so i started recovery. I can clean media, format everything ... but i can't get an USB connection. Sometimes the Muvo even says media error while trying to connect to the PC. Is there any way i can fix it on my own ? I tried everything i could find with the search. Tested the Muvo on 2 PC?s.

If so, then you've done all you can and the player is faulty. Are you in warranty? If so, contact support. Even if not, you might want to contact support for an out of warranty repair.

Mic problem USB Audigy

Hello All?Am I using the wrong (type of) microphone?I've got a Dell Inspiron 900 running XP. The onboard soundcard is SigmaTel. My microphone is a simple Digitech GA-006D. Using the SigmaTel I can record successfully from the microphone to Windows Sound Recorder, Cool Edit Pro etc. Using the USB SoundBlaster Audigy2NX I can't.
I've checked and doublechecked all the Surround Mixer and Windows Mixer settings and sliders.
They're OK. The Audigy2NX spec calls for a "dynamic" microphone. Is this my problem?Thanks in advance for any help. Regards?Ian
