Use BDLS in BI for re-mapping of source system
Hello,
Is it possible to use tr code BDLS in BI in order to automatically change source system assignment in source system related BI objects (such as info sources, info packages..)?
We have created a new ECC QA client and would like to load data from that to BI (the same BI system as before) and wish to avoid the manual work of manually re-mapping all source system related objects.
In the thread below the conclusion was that it's possible to use BDLS, but when executing it in test mode and looking at the affected tables, only the parter profiles and EDI-related tables seems to be modified with a new LSN (logical system name). However, I could not find a change in tables containing f.ex. info sources etc.
Fresh source system clients in production BW system
Is there anyway of doing this without manually re-mapping the BI objects?
Thanks,

Thanks!
When running a LSN conversion in BI from source OLTP to target OLTP in test mode and then checking some BI-object tables, I see that the logical system name is changed, so it's seems to me as if the infosources are changed.. (or?)
However, perhaps a transport in "system copy" mode is preferrable (?) In step 2, do you mean that I should first collect a system copy in a transport request and then collect "everything before" in the same transport request?
Any comments on BDLS, Patrick?

Mapping of Source System Names
Hello,
Has some body done the mapping of Source System for <b>"Transport"</b> to go through which is done using the following steps:
RSA1 --> Tools --> Mapping of Source System Names(Conversion of source system name after transport)
You have to enter the source system name and target source source.
So if I have following Landscape
1) R3DEV -> R3QA --> R3QPROD --> R3Prod
2) BWDEV -> BWQA --> BWQPROD --> BWPROD.
What should be entries in the table
OrSource TargSrceSy
1) R3DEV R3QA
2) R3DEV R3QPROD
3) R3DEV R3Prod
4) BWDDEV BWQA
Thanks,
-Hari
5) BWDDEV BWQPROD
6) BWDDEV BWPROD
or
1) R3DEV R3QA
2) R3QA R3QPROD
3) R3QPROD R3Prod
4) BWDDEV BWQA
5) BWQA BWQPROD
6) BWQPROD BWPRODThanks A.H.P. So just a click clarification. My question is
So BWQPROD will contian
<b>OrSource TargSrceSy</b>
R3DEV R3QPROD
<b>OR</b>
R3QA R3QPROD.
Because my basis the transport path is as shown below.
R3DEV --> R3QA
R3DEV --> R3QRPOD
R3DEV --> R3PROD
So dev will transport to QA,QPROD,PROD
Thanks,

RadhaHi
If you want to transport objects from quality to production.
You have to map the current source system (i.e here quality SS) to production SS.
It will be available in RSA1 ---> Tools -

There is no PSA for InfoSource 8ZCCA_O09 and source system BWPCLNT800 RSAOD
Hi All:
We make a Heterogeneous system copy of BW 3.5. from Solaris 9-Oracle 9i to AIX 3.5-Oracle 9i.
We must have to rename the Logical System Name and during the Functional Testing the users configured the conections again in RSA1 transaction, then they start the
testing phase but get the next error in the Monitor-Administrator Workbench:
"@5C@ 28.02.2008 19:59:31 There is no PSA for InfoSource
8ZCCA_O09 and source system BWPCLNT800 RSAODS 203"
We can see that the errors refers to the old (BWPCLNT800) Logical
System Name; during the configuration of the RSA1 they renamed the
Logical System Name of the BW System to BWNIUSA800.
We found the SAP Note 518426 but we are not sure about if we can
execute it without affecting the system or the configuration.
Some one Can help us ?.

No PSA for Infosource X and source system Y. Here Y is the flat file source
Hi,
We are facing an issue while transporting from dev s/m to quality. There is no PSA for Infosource X and source system Y. Here Y is the flat file source system this issue we are getting while transporting transfer rules. We are checked in OSS notes 518426. Its not helpful.
Thanks
ManjulaHi
Try RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL (SE38).
You may also check SAP Note 861890 - ODS tables disappear during the upgrade -
and activate all ODS Objects before the upgrade and run the program RSDG_ODSO_ACTIVATE.
also that with Stack 14 an extended version of this program is available together with the
Program RSUPGRCHECK. If errors occurs, consult also SAP Note 518426 and run transaction
RSSGPCLA for the regeneration of the RSDRO_* Objects.
Recheck whether you have Exported with correct parameters or not -- Try to Re Export the Same with all necessary objects .
Try Note 524554 and 325525 also
Hope it helps and clear -
There are no hierarchies for this InfoSource in source system
Hello Gurus,
We have recently created an extractor for the Country hierarchies, these are the steps we took:
SBIW->Settings for Application-Specific DataSources (PI)->Profitability Analysis->Create Hierarchy DataSource (TC: KEB1)
We informed the infoobject 0country and the characteristic KMLAND.
We replicated the datasources, created the transfer rules in our dev. system and loaded the required hierarchy with success.
We transported our requests to our prod. environment. and when creating the infopackage for the hierarchy we get the message "There are no hierarchies for this InfoSource in source system". We have checked in our R/3 system and the hierarquies are there.
Are we missing something in the process so that we may see the available hierarquies?
Thanks!!! Points will be rewarded.Hi Sumit,
You were correct, the request did not transport the contents of the table TKEBWLH. There is a note from SAP which corrects this problem, note 856895. v02. After applying the note and recreating the request, we manage to see the available hierarchies in our Prod. System.
Thanks for your help!

There is no PSA for InfoSource ZOUTNBR_TEXT_CC and source system PCFILE
Hi All
The above subject line shows the error.
I have a custome data source in Development that is ZOUTNBR_TEXT which has a source system PC file.(flatfiles)
when i transported all transfer structures and data sources from Development to Quality, only my transfer rules were not activated. but when i manually activated in Quality it throws with an error
There is no PSA for InfoSource ZOUTNBR_TEXT_CC and source system PCFILE
Please let me know how can i activate my transfer rules.
ArchanaHi,
We also faced the same issue while transporting from dev to QA. We raised a OSS, for which SAP has replied saying that there was some inconsistencies with the infosource and they have repaired the same in debugging mode. The root-cause for the issue is unknown. So they have not given any notes to us.
But meanwhile we created a new data source and transported it. that worked fine.

BDLS for conversion of logical source system name
Hello All,
I am trying to reassign a new source system NEW1 by replacing old source system OLD1 using BDLS in the source system.
But the NEW source system logical system name already exists as I created it . Can I delete the new source system and then use BDLS?
How do I make sure that the reassignment happens correctly?
And what precautions should be taken to avoid further consequences?
Regards,
NIKEKABBDLS does a pretty good job... Never had issues with it when using it... Always execute a test run, look for warnings or errors...
Yes, you can delete the source system before doing BDLS... I assume, since it is new, nothing is connected to it...
You always will have to check RFC connections, datasources replicas, rules, etc, once the conversion is done...
Make sure you take a look at note 886102, it has very good information and make reference to other relevant notes specific for BDLS, like 121163, 369759, etc... Read the notes carefully, follow the steps and you'll be fine...
Once everything is done and in place, you shouldn't have any surprises in the future... It's just normal maintenance...
Good luck... -
Regenerating ports for Partner Profiles and Source System (RSA1)
Hello all you SAP gurus,
During a recent backcopy we have an issue after updating Logical System names using BDLS. This has updated the Partner Profiles (WE20) correctly.
BUT
These partner profiles are trying to use ports (WE21) that have been mistakenly deleted. But if we try to recreate the ports we get the message
-"Choose another name! Name range reserved!"-
This specific port is referenced in outbound parameters. Perhaps this is stopping the change?
We could create new ports and hook them up to the partner profiles, but I'm concerned that there might be other locations where the deleted ports are referenced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!Hi J,
You can try and disconnect and re-connect the BW System to R/3. That would force the recreation of the Partner Profile.
Take a look at the connection data in table RSBASIDOC, write down the parameters, especially the IDoc Type.
In SE37, run function RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT_40 and specify parameters for BW System.
Then run RSAP_BIW_CONNECT_40 and specify those parameter again for the BW System.
This will recreate the Partner Profiles. Then check the assigned ports and see if you still have the same issue. Just make sure the RFC connection is set correctly and working in SM59 before doing all this.
In any case, you can create new ports in WE21 and allow the system to assign the numbers automatically and you won't have any issue.
Hope it helps.
Regards,
Luis

Multiple rows in BI Infocube/or DSO for one row in source system
Hi Gurus,
I have a typical scenario where in I have a ztable in R/3 system and it contains some custome transaction data.
The business scenario wants it to split into multiple records in BI ( ofcourse keys for each records in BI would be unique). Either infocube or DSO can be used to store the data in BI.
Is it possible to do that. As far as my knowledge goes( I have limited BI exposure) one record from source system ( read row) is transformed into one record ( row) in BI in simple transformation.
Please give me some rough idea if its possible how can we achieve it.
I know we can write an ABAP program and create a ztable to do it and use the ztable as source for incube/dso. But I want to use this as last option.
Thanks
SumitHi,
An ODS will be better.
Use a start routine.
data-package --> package2
create your own package with your rules.
update.insert.modify.append....
package2 --> data_package
and from 1 row, you create n row as your rules would like..

Retrieve Data for the Variables from Source System in Target System
hello...i created a variable in the source system in the table: TVARVC and I would like to get the data from this table in the source system and used this in the infopackage calendar day in the BW target system. Can anyone suggest any useful way to do this? How to take the data from this table TVARVC which is not in the same box, is a different box.
THANKS alot =)Hi FluffyToffee,
Try to create a RFC function module to read values in source table. Use this FM in infopackage selection routine.
Hope it Helps

Generation Log for Trasfer Structure on Source System
Hey Folks, I'm reciving a weird message at the moment of activate the transfer rules, something like:
Error when creating transfer structure /BIC/CCGO0CO_PC_01 in source system XXXX,An error occurred when creating transfer structure /BIC/CCGO0CO_PC_01 as an IDoc segment in source system XXXX Meesage Number : R3104
Could someone explain where on the source system Side can I check the generation log for this?
Thanks a lotHi William,
The problem may be because of some error in connection with Source System . Check all entries in table T000. Note them up in field RLOGSYS and check with RSBASIDOC with fields Rlogsys and Slogsys .
U can see the Source System assignment and IDoc type is the table RSBASIDOC .
Check the field RlOGSYS in the table. The possible cause of error is caused because of renaming the Source System
Check with the assignment in Sourcesystems of BW .
also Check with Transaction RS_LOGSYS_CHECK in R/3 .
U can have more information in the OSS Notes : 140276
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
krish

Error for setuping 2lis_02_scl in source system
Hi ,Guy ,
I used the datasource 2lis_02_scl to get the purchase data . i did the setup using one purchase order no(of course I deleted the setup table before did it). when checked the data by RSA3 , I found the system generated mass data(2400 records) .actually my purchase relevant data are as follows: 21 reordes of order item ,78 reocords of order schedule item ,158 records for order history ,and they have no more change after created . I don't know
why 2400 relevant records in my setup table .
Can anybody come across same problem ?thanks in advance .
Jialiang.QiuHi,
One reasonmay be the records will split in the systesm I'll tell one example.
Just 2 days back I tested for 2lis_12_vcitm, one record is created in ECC and then I tested it in RSA3 I got 3 records (it won't include shipment), but the data will match with ECC (ECC Vs BW), so in that way there may be some splittings will happen.
Just take one order no and check you come to know that how the data is splitting.
Thanks

Any way to search for casts in java source code?
Anyone know of a decent way to search your java source files to find all the casts?
I ended up doing a simple text search for
" = ("(quote marks not included) which works for my code because I am strict about writing my casts with spaces like
String s = (String) iterator.next();Unfortunately, the above search has all kinds of problems with both false positives and negatives. It picks up lots of irrelevant lines like
int index = (number > 0) ? 0 : 1;as well as misses casts that appear nested inside expressions like
((String) iter.next()).charAt(...)I suppose that one could do a regular expression search for any pair of open and close parens which bound non-blank text, but that would pick up even more non-cast expressions in typical java code.
I think that the only way to properly do this is to have a tool which understands java syntax.
Anyone know of an IDE which will do this? Does IntelliJ or Netbeans support this kind of search?
In case you are wondering why I am interested in this, it is because I am refactoring some code to fully use generics, and searching for casts is one source of identifying candidates for genericity.cliffblob wrote:
