Do you know if I can use my iPhone4 micro SIM card in a 3G iPad2 ? (I have unlimited 3G access with my iPhone, so it would be nice to be able to use it on iPad...)

On 'compare ipad models' page it shows the various compatible SIM cards for each model. How do u use a sim with ipad? I can't see anywhere u can insert a sim. Any info greatly appreciated. Apologies in advance if this is a really stupid question but having seen it on the Apple website I'm confused.

You cannot use SIM card on Wi-Fi only iPad. They do not have SIM tray.

I've read some info on using my AT&T data plan from my iphone4 sim. And put it my iPad.. I tried this once and got the AT&T and 3G icons in upper right of iPad but couldn't get Internet.. Tried changing setting and APN was not to be found.

Using UK iPhone 4 Vodafone micro SIM in iPad

I have an iPhone 4 with a UK monthly contract with Vodafone.
I also have an iPad 3G, but do not have a SIM card for it, usually using it through wi-fi. I might eventually get a SIM card for it so that I can use the 3G.
But a thought has come to me. With my iPhone 4 with Vodafone UK I have a data plan as well as voice, but probably never use up the monthly data. I'm just wondering that when I find myself somewhere there is no wi-fi but I can get a 3G signal, is there any way I can take the mico SIM out of my iPhone 4 and put it in to my iPad 3G and use it with my iPad.
I imagine that Vodafone will probably be a bit sniffy about this, and maybe they have already blocked people doing this. I haven't tried it yet because I'm not sure what consequences it might have for messing up my settings etc. on iPhone4 and iPad 3G. But, has anybody done this, and does it work ?
I guess my rationale in wanting to do this is that I am paying Vodafone for data that I am not using on my iPhone, so it is my data which I've paid for, so why can't I access and use it on my iPad 3G if that is technically possible. Vodafone still gets paid, and I get to use the data I've paid for. Simples, no ?!

I gave this a try with vodafone, the carrier information was displayed at the top however when I attempted to connect to the internet I received a message stating that I did not subscribe to a data plan. I haven't played about with it so can't comment on how to get the iPad to recognise that there is a data plan. However, I can confirm that it works with a t-mobile micro sim.
It would be interesting to see if anyone else had had any luck in getting micro sims intended for an iPhone to work with an iPad and how they managed this.

Using the same Apple id and Password you should be able to download purchased apps without being charged again.

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not synced. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not touched with the iTunes sync process. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer which is not handled by iTunes. Most importing software includes an option to delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete. If is my understanding that some Windows import software supports importing photos from the Camera Roll, but not videos. Regardless, the import software should not delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll unless you set the app to do so.

If you synced your iPhone with iTunes before the videos on the Camera Roll went missing and you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since they went missing, you can try restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup. If you do not want to download multiple times, just copy the Applications -> Install Lion app to a safe place BEFORE you do the first install. Then copy that copy to any Mac you own where you want to install Lion.

Yes. If you buy a WiFi+3G ipad (GSM or AT&T) in the US you can use microSIMs from other countries also. There are very few iPads (usually purchased as part of a subsidized package with a service provider) that are locked.

You might be able to use your iPhone sim. FaceTime calls are only possible over wifi or you can get something like the Skype For iPad app from the store if you want to make video calls over 3G - but you can't do 'normal' phone calls with the iPad.

The wifi-only iPad doesn't have 3G capability (it doesn't have a micro-sim card slot nor the hardware within it to use 3G) - though you could use an iPhone as a mobile hotspot for it or get a mifi device for use with it.
If you want to use 3G directly on the iPad then you will need a wifi + 3G iPad (if you want to use micro-sim cards with it then don't get the US Verizon model as that is CDMA based and doesn't use micro-sim cards)
