Use of Orders05 Interface mapping & XSLT mapping file for Orders03 IDOC

Hello Experts,
In a scenario we are sending Purchase orders and Purhase Order change from SAP to SNC through XI.
Currently Orders03 IDoc is used and standard mapping for Orders03 XSLT is used.
Now the requirement is to use the same IDOC (Orders03) but
- XSLT mapping (OrdersOrders05_ReplenishmentOrderNotification) and
- Interface Mapping (OrdersOrders05_ReplenishmentOrderNotification_01) of Orders05.
What changes would be necessary
- On SAP side,
- in the XSLT mapping, and
- On XI side.

Hi Suraj,
First compare ORDERS03 IDOC and ORDERS05 IDoc structures,if both structures are same then u no ned to chnage the XSL it will work fine.
If any chnages in ORDERS05 Idoc then u have to adjust XSLT as per ORDERS05 IDOC.
test interface mapping first and let me know if any error.

Mapping in Transformation file for loading infoprovider

Mapping in transformation file for load from infoprovider:
The requirement is : if Account of BW starts with 70XXXXXXX then use char1 if Account of BW starts with 12XXXXXXX then use char2 in BPC dimension 2.
So, in the transformation file for a load from an infoprovider we want for a dimension to use the data from a certain BW characteristic based on the characteristic Account.
For example if the account start with 70 then use for a certain bpc-dimension u201Cdetailu201D the characteristic of 0COUNRTY should be used, if account start with 2 the char X should be used etc..
Following in the transformation works but the issue is that we have to specify all the accounts individually (+100 accounts in the statement which is not feasible):
BPC_detail = *IF (BWACCOUNT = str(70000010) then 0COUNTRY;str(NO_DETAIL))
Where BPC_detail is the dimension in BPC and BWACCOUNT is the characteristic in BW.
Following statement does not work: there is also no documentation available how to do this:
BPC_detail = *IF (BWACCOUNT(1:2) = str(70) then 0COUNTRY;str(NO_DETAIL))
Is there a solution/statement that fulfills this requirement for the load of an infoprovider?
( so similar to what you can do with the load of a flat file like for example: Entity=IF(col(1,1:1)=U then SEntity;*col(1,1:1)=Z then *col(1,3:6); *STR(ERR)) )

Install process chain /CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROV_UI from BI Content as follows:
1.Enter Tcode RSA1
2. In the left navigation bar, click 'BI content'
3. Select process chain and double click "Select Objects".
4. Select the process chain /CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROV_UI.
5. Click 'Transfer Selections' button.
6. On the right pane, install objects from BI Content.
7. Enter Tcode SE38.
8. Input program name ujs_activate_content and click to run.
9. Only select option 'Update DM Default Instructions'.
10. Execute program.

One file for multiple IDOCs

Hi,
Need help on IDOC files created on application server.
For IDOCs of EDI type generally one file is created on application server for one idoc. Is there any way to create a common file for multiple IDOCs that are created in a batch job?

Use data type enhancement in XSLT mapping in XI

Hi Experts,
I'm working on SNC and I need to add an element to a data type. I have created a data type enhancemnet with the element in it. Now I need to get this into my XSLT mapping. I have tried creating a message type but the data type enhancement is not recognized.
Are data type enhancements only for proxies? Can they be used in an XSLT or graphical mapping in XI?

Upon further investigation I found that Data Type Enhancements can be used with any message mapping. There are a couple of things that you must get right. First when creating the Data Type Enhancement make sure you use the namespace for your custom SWC that you created. Next make sure that in the Ehancement for Data Type you use the SAP supplied data type name and namespace. It also seems that your data type enhancement name, mapping name, and operational mapping name must have the Z_ prefix. Save and activate, then go to system which owns the enhancement and go to SPROXY, you should see your custom SWC and under that you should see your enhanced data type, mapping, and operational mapping. Activate and modify methods as needed here.

There are 4 types of mapping in XI
1. Graphical Mapping
2. XSLT Mapping
3. JAVA Mapping
4. ABAP Mapping
When to use Message mapping
1 When the logic for your mapping is simple and straight forward, you can use
Advantages of message mapping
1)Easy to use.
2) has GUI drag and drop.
3) used for simple mapping cases
4) it does not involve any complex logic
Disadvantages of message mapping
1)has limitation in terms of complex hierarchy
When to use Java mapping
1) Java mapping are used when graphical mapping cannot help you.
Advantages of Java Mapping
1)you can use Java APIs and Classes in it.
2) file look up or a DB lookup is possible
3) DOM is easier to use with lots of classes to help you create nodes and elements.
Disadvantages of Java mapping
1)SAX parser is not easy to develop
2)DOM parser is intensive
3) Java knowledge is required
4) bit complexer
XSLT Mapping - When to use
1)When the required output is other than XML like Text, Html or XHTML (html displayed as XML )
2)When default namespace coming from graphical mapping is not required or is to be changed as per requirements.
3)When data is to be filtered based on certain fields (considering File as source)
4)When data is to be sorted based on certain field (considering File as source)
5)When data is to be grouped based on certain field (considering File as source)
Advantages of using XSLT mapping
1)XSLT program itself defines its own target structure.
2)XSLT programs can be imported into SAP XI. Message mapping step can be avoided. One can directly go for interface mapping once message interfaces are created and mapping is imported.
3)XSLT provides use of number of standard XPath functions that can replaces graphical mapping involving user defined java functions easily.
4)File content conversion at receiver side can be avoided in case of text or html output.
5)Multiple occurrences of node within tree (source XML) can be handled easily.
6)XSLT can be used in combination with graphical mapping.
7)Multi-mapping is also possible using xslt.
8)XSLT can be used with ABAP and JAVA Extensions
Disadvantages of using XSLT mapping
1)Resultant XML payload can not be viewed in SXMB_MONI if not in XML format (for service packs < SP14).
2)Interface mapping testing does not show proper error description. So errors in XSLT programs are difficult to trace in XI but can be easily identified outside XI using browser.
3)XSLT mapping requires more memory than mapping classes generated in Java.
4)XSLT program become lengthier as source structure fields grows in numbers.
5)XSLT program sometimes become complex to meet desired functionality.
6)Some XSL functions are dependent on version of browser.
Advantages of Abap Mapping
1) A person comfortable with OOABAP can go for ABAP mapping instead.
Disadvantages of Abap Mapping
1) Abap knowledge is required
2) bit compexer

Mapping a flat file to the iDoc OILLDD

Hi.
I have a file with this structure after I got it from the fileadapter.:
B Dataxxxxxxxxx
C Datayyyyyy
D Datazzzzzz
D Datazzzzzz

C Datayyyyyy
D Datazzzzzz
C Datayyyyyy
C Datayyyyyy
E Dataxxxxxxxxx

etc.
I want to map this structure to the Idoc OILLDD which have this structure.:
OILLDD01
 IDOC
 E1OILT1
 E1OILT2
 E1OILT3
 E1OILT4
each B-Recor shall produce a new iDoc.
each C-Record shall make an E1OILT1-segment
each D-Record shall make an E1OILT3-segment(if the D-record exist)
My problem is.:
How can I make an new iDoc for each B-Records in the file.
I got the file tthrough the filadapter.

The file from the file adapter have to be parsed using the File Content Conversion.
Now this converted XML will have the fields with value "A", "B","C" etc.
This can be then mapped according to ur requirements. U need to export the IDOC as XSD , change the occurrence and then reimport it in the external definitions.

Using path variable to CI under transaction file for DBTABLOG archiving

Hello Colleagues,
I have to configure DBTABLOG archiving among others under transaction file.
Here you have to configure archive path to the filesystem.
E.g.this is the path to the development system:
DEV23015\Interfaces\Outbound\Archiving_IDOCs\<FILENAME>
It's clear, for test as well production we are using different hostname.
So the consideration was to use a respective variable for the server system.
E.g.
<HOST>\Interfaces\Outbound\Archiving_IDOCs\<FILENAME>
But now the problem, we are using CI (centra instnace) and application server for test as well as production and the archiving path respectively the archiving folder are only configured at CI server.
So the HOST variable is not sufficient in this case.
The variable SAPGLOBALHOST pointing directly to the CI server but not possible to configure under TC file.
Any idea which variable possible and pointing direct to CI server?
Or is the only possibility for pointing direct to CI server for archiving to use the HOST variable and modify the archiving job to run only on CI server?

You have two options...
First one is to mount that path into all your instances
Second is to use a Server Group Name under Cross-Archiving Object Customizing -> Technical Settings to force that particular object jobs to run on your CI.

Can I use symbolic links to share abook.mab file for two users

If I delete any of the .mab files from one user profile and replace it with a symbolic link that points to the same file in the other profile will this synchronise my address books for the two profiles. I have win7.
The object is to have two Windows User accounts sharing all the same email data. I have already have them pointed at the same message store.
I also wish to know if deleting a .mab file will only cause it to be re-created.
I am hesitant to experiment.

Deleting any of the two default mab files, abook.mab (Personal Address Book) or history.mab (Collected Addresses) will result in new, empty files with these names being recreated automatically when TB is restarted.

Generating an idocxml file for matmas idoc,getting invalid characters in it

i am generating and(ZMATMAS) idoc xml in a folder in R3 using the Port (No PI involve here). and after generating the file SAP PI system will pick that file to process , but for some files,invalid characters like oxb(vertical tab) are being passed due to which messages are failing in PI ,SO HOW I CAN AVOID GENERATING THESE INVALID CHARACTERS inxml file in R3.

Google to find out how special characters can be entered.. There were some suggestions to press ALT and enter the four digit representation for the special characters (you can probably play around with it)...

ERROR WHILE USING XSLT MAPPING IN INTERFACE MAPPING

Hi,
We are using an xslt mapping in our scenario but while i load the XSLT mapping in the interface mapping i get a message :
Transformer configuration exception occurred when loading XSLT
sorce interface :outbound and asyncronous.
mapping : XSLT mapping (imported as a zip file)
target interface: abstract,asyncronous.
The xslt runs well in standalone and its well formed and there is no name space issue.
please help if any one has faced such a situation while using XSLT mapping.

When you say it runs well standalone what exactly do you mean? Which XSLT processor are you using to run it? There are subtle difference between XSTL processors that can sometimes result in incompatibilities. For instance, I have seen XSLTs run correctly in XMLSpy but incorrectly (or at least slightly differently) in XI.
