Use of "this" in bean

hello, i would like to refer to my web app but when i use "this" in a bean, it refers to the bean, not to the app....
what must i do to have "this" refer to my app ?

sorry i'll try to explain better :
i have a class called "userManager" which registers several apps in a database when they are launched.
usually, in a normal java app, to register an app that is opening i write :
userManager.register (this);
this then refers to the instance of the object of my main class, for example a class extending JFrame
here with JSF, i am not in a main class but in a bean, so if i write
userManager.register (this)
i think "this" will refer to my current object bean, not to the whole app - or am i wrong ?
in any case, can a bean "extend" and "implement" classes / interfaces ?

I had tried using -Xms / -Xmx options (upto 1 GB).
The trace of exception gets delayed (from being displayed on the console) as the memory size is increased; but after sometime it starts getting displayed on the console.
Even though this exception is displayed on the console, the Timer Bean continues to execute upto sometime before it finally crashes!
If anyone has encountered such problem; would appreciate if you could share the solution.

Hi guys, I have the same problem. I have an application EAR file with two modules (EJB and WAR starting in this order). The application can schedule a process via EJB timer. In this case restarting the server I receive the error above. If I change the modules start order --> WAR - EJB the server start correctly, but the application scheduler fails (the persistency is not working) with this error:

Using JTreeTable as a Bean

Hi,
I've been looking at the JTreeTable class available at:
http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/treetable1/
This is not a standard Swing component but I'd like to use it as a Bean so that I can load it into my NetBeans IDE. Problem is there does not appear to be a means to set the model (for tree and table) other than using the constructor that takes a TreeTableModel parameter.
Has this been done before? Any help is appreciated.

im currently doing a file to mail scenario.
i want the name of the input file as the subject of the mail.
i want to establish this using the Dynamic Configuration bean
my first question is:

value.1 message.messageID
this reads the value of the message ID into the attribute THeaderSUBJECT
but what does this do?

when i use this it has no effect atall.
my second question.
I have my input filename in the FileName attribute in Dynamic configuration how can i read it into THeaderSUBJECT attribute.

Yep i know its possible via an udf in Message mapping but i dont have an MM in my scenario. Since im not parsing thru the input data since its an excel file, so im transferring the file using the following method

and in this method if i include an MM it will give me a mapping exception.
So i have to use this bean somehow and try to accomplish what we do in the udf.

custom adapters:
you have to use a custom adapter when you don't find any adapter in ocep which will serve your purpose.
Most of the times you use an adapter to connect the application with external things like http server, etc It can be both to listen the events or to send the events outside.
Event Beans:
This type of beans does most of the work that an adapter code does but in convention beans are not used to connect the application with external stuff
You can use Beans as event sink etc In this case using an using an adapter is not suggestable.
If you implement Interfaces like Initializing Bean for an adapter code it won't work properly, you have to use an event Bean in that case.
Spring beans:
Spring beans are used when the bean code doesn't implement EventSink or EventSender.
These beans are used to enable something (eg: make ${wlevs_dev_home}/abc/a/b.java this path is not understandable by java code unless you override the path using a spring bean)
Most of the things which doesn't need a connection between components in the application (eg cache loader: you can do this using spring beans and event beans both but spring beans doesn't need a connection with cache)

Calling Portal Service using result as Java Bean Model impossible?

Hello folks,
we try to achieve to call a portal service (working) which gives as a result a list of object of type com.foo.Report. We want to make use of this class as a model class, so we have the class as a model node in the context. The class itself is part of the service DC.
Unfortunately at run time it gives us a NoClassDefFound Exception of com.foo.Report.
As the com.foo.Report is part of the same DC as the service, it is no option to add the PAR public part to the used DCs of the WD DC because then there is this type conflict when we call the service (service look up). Or am I wrong and this is the way to do it? I mean I struggled quite a while to get the service look up right and needed to remove all the PAR/lib used DCs from the used DCs of the WD Project, when I got it working this Model error came up. I also tried to put the Model class in a separate DC but that caused the same error.
how is it possible to call a Portal service from WD and using it's return vale as a Model class

ClassCastException When we use JSP with Normal Bean in WebLogic 5.1

          We have an application where JSP files are using the Normal Java beans(Nothing
          but a Java Class).Here all jave beans are in a folder ..\myserver\classfiles\

          This combination is throwing a ClassCastException when the JSP try to Intantiate
          the bean....It doesn't give error alway..Initially it works fine and all of a

That is correct; WLS 5.1 does not support the updating of these helper classes.
          In WLS 6.0, you can package everything up as a web application or enterprise
          application and redeploy the whole thing (including the helper classes)...

Error Msg - "You must add the Class files for this enterprise bean"

I am creating creating new enterprise bean using j2sdkee1.2. I am able to create .ear file in desired folder, but can not create .jar. Please help. Getting above error message.
remote, home interface files and file having business logic (EJB) is compiled and kept at desired location.
j2ee server started, Deploytool is started.
Then I can successfully create new application (.ear file)
Then I go for creating new enterprise bean. I get same application name in Drop down list named "Enterprise Bean will go in".
Then I can add home, remote and ejb class file to create jar ("Add" under "Contents" ).
When I say ok after adding these 3 files, I am getting error - "You must add the Class files for this enterprise bean".
In the deploytool console, getting error - "java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\2sdkee1.2\mahesh\ConverterEJB.class (The system cannot find the path specified) "
Can you please help me where to configure the path?

Using Acrobat Viewer as Bean

does anybody used Acrobat Viewer as bean in a Java app? There are some problems, I couldn't solve. It would be great if any body could give me some hints.
I would like to open a document (works fine) and jump on a specific side (page number) of pdf document or jumping to a specific text phrase.
It would be nice, to center a found page on screen.
How do I configure the 'title bar buttons'.

I also have a problem with viewer (as a bean). I can view local pdf files without any problems using myViewer.setDocumentURL(), but when I put in a remote address like http://......something.pdf, it won't work. I am connected to the internet too. So, I'm confused. Anybody used this bean before and know how to solve this problem???

I am trying to use the "Automatically Expose UI Components Using an Existing Managed Bean" in the Page Implementation" section when creating my jspx page but cannot figure out how to get the radio button enabled in order to use it.
