Use of URL in MDM

Hi All,
I want to know what is the exact use of URL in MDM?
Please explain me with some procedures.
Regards,
Pramod

Hi Pramaod,
URL feature is available in MDM for the purpose of accessing web services through internet from within MDM.
If you want to refer something through net pertaining your master data,or else update your master data based on some updates on net then you can use this feature.
This feature is not enabled by default you need to do some settings so as to view internet through MDM.
In the console->Admin->links
give the url name and link
then in Data manager give the name of the same url in your configuraton options.
This will enable your web tab and your web link
Kindly note you can have many urls defined in your console but each link is specific to one data manger instance
Hope it helped
Kindly reward points if found useful
Thanks & Regards
Simona

  • How to use one URL for several Oracle AS?

    Hi folks,
    how do I use one URL to access several application servers (i.e. for different applications).
    Example:
    We have one URL:
    www.test.com
    In our DMZ, wie have three application servers and one web cache:
    test1.intranet.com:7777
    test2.intranet.com:7777
    test3.intranet.com:7777
    webcache.intranet.com:8000
    One application server is no problem. In Web Cache, i just map site www.test.com:443 to AS test1.intranet.com:7777.
    But what is the correct setting, to access all three Oracle AS over one URL? I tried URL PATH Prefix. Then i am able to access all three Oracle AS, but the application server does not know the Path.
    Example for mapping:
    www.test.com:443/server2 -> test2.intranet.com:7777
    When I access www.test.com:443/server2, I get redirected to the correct AS (test2.intranet.com:7777), but the Oracle AS does not know the path /server2.
    How do I have to configure the Oracle AS?
    Thanks in advance and best regards.

    I setted up a proxy and at first glance,
    it works fine. The problem are internal links. Some links redirect to the
    machine name, which is of course not accessible from outside our dmz.
    My httpd.conf entries:
    ProxyPass /test1infra/ http://test1.intranet.com:7777/
    ProxyPassReverse /test1infra/ http://test1.intranet.com:7777/
    ProxyPass /test1mid/ http://test1.intranet.com:7778/
    ProxyPassReverse /test1mid/ http://test1.intranet.com:7778/
    When I now access (for example) www.test.com/test1infra/pls/orasso I get
    redirected to www.test.com/pls/orasso, which is another Oracle AS!
    How can I prevent my OracleAS doing this? It has to "know" that all its internal urls need a url path prefix.

  • Using Go URL to Pass parameter between dashboard

    Hi All,
    I am trying to pass parameter using GO URL functionality from one dashboard analysis field to another dashboard.
    The navigation is working properly but the parameter is not getting passed, I am not sure why.
    The Called dashboard has a analysis which has IS PROMPTED filter attached to it for the passing filter. I tried various ways to make this work
    Option 1
    In the calling analysis, I am using a Narrative View and inside I have used the below code.
    <a href="saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/MI/_portal/Client-MI&Page=Supplier%20Detail%20Tab&Action=Navigate&P0=1&P1=eq&P2=Dim%20Supplier.Supplier%20Name%20Current&P3=1+%22STR%20LTD%22"> @2[br/]
    This one navigate but filtering is not happening
    Option 2 (My first preference will be this option)
    Also I tried to provide custom Data Format under the column Properties
    [html]"<font class="nav" onclick=\"JavaScript:GoNav(event, '/shared/MI/_portal/Client-MI/Supplier Detail Tab','Dim Supplier','Supplier Name Current','"@"');\">"@"</font>
    This ends up giving error
    Type mismatch of catalog object /shared/MI/_portal/Client-MI/Supplier Detail Tab -- expected , got .
      Error Details
    Error Codes: UVWDR6UA
    Also, both the tabs (Called and Calling are under the same Dashboard)
    Can anyone please let me know, were I am making mistake. I tried refereeing Oracle documentation but still no result.
    Thanks

    Looks like you've got it almost right - just an extra unneeded "
    <a href="two.jsp"?ant=<%= ant %>"><%=antName%></a>
    which should render on the page as something like
    My Ant Task
    When you click the link, it should pass that parameter, and you can get it via request.getParameter().

  • How to set a value to a Presentation Variable using GO URL?

    Hi All,
         I am working on a drill (GO URL) from Dashboard page1 to Dashboard page2.
         The problem I am facing is, I am not able to pass a value to the presentation variable through GO URL. (I have to pass "Customer Category" static
    value to The presentation variable present in Dashboard Page2 ).
         The Dashboard page2 is having a view select in which we are using presentation variable to select the report based on the value selected in
    View Select.
         For example: If the user selects "Customer Category" value in View select and clicks on GO button Customer Category report will show the out put.
         When i am drilling from Dashboard Page1 I have to pass a value to the presentation variable used in view select and also pass some filter condition in
         GO URL.
         Please let me know if it is feasible to pass a value to the presentation variable through GO URL in OBIEE 10.1.3.4.
         It will be greate if you can provide me with the syntax to set a value to the presentation variable of dashboard page2 through GO URL.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sagar Vishwanathwar.

    1) You have to navigate to dashboard page, not to answer request = you have to use "Dashboard URL API" not GO URL API.
    2) On the target page, you have to place dashboard prompt, which sets required presentation variable.
    3) Refer to the target using Dashboard URL API and set filter on prompt column using URL parameters. Example: http://localhost:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard&PortalPath=%2Fusers%2Fadministrator%2F_portal&Page=page%201&Action=Navigate&P0=1&P1=eq&P2=D_TIME.YEAR_CODE&P3=%221996%22
    Do not forget to use Action=Navigate. The syntax for setting filters using url parameter is the same as for GO URL API described in Business Intelligence Presentation Services Administration Guide.
    This is the way, you can implement navigation to parametrized direct SQL reports including passing filter values...

    Yes, you can also, e.g. include a help file or manual as html and open that in the browser.

  • How to use GO URL?

    Hi All,
    I have two Reports-
    Report1 - Dim A (A1,A2,A3) , Fact A (B1,B2,B3)
    Report2 - Dim C (C1,C2,C3) , Fact C (D1,D2,D3)
    Where A1,A2.. ,B1,B2.. ,C1,C2..,D1,D2.. are the attributes of dimensions and facts.
    While drilling from attribute B1 in report1, i want to pass parameter A1 to report2 and want to see only the records in report 2
    for which C1 = A1. The attributes A1 and C1 are having the same values.
    For Drilling from measure B1 , i can use GO URL. But in the report2 "Dim A.A1" is not present.In Report2 , i have "Dim C.C1".
    For GO URL, the parameter that is passed from one report should be present in second report.
    Thus , how can i implement this scenario? My target report has different attribute.
    Thanks, Ashish

    Hi Goran,
    I have the same requirement and implementing what you said
    As you said,I have given HTML for the dataformat and in the column fx i gave the following.
    case when project.SOURCE = 'BETA' then '' ||Sample.org_code || '' else Sampleorg_code end
    case when project.SOURCE = 'BETA' then '' ||Sample."PWA#_L" || '' else Sample."PWA#_L" end
    The first navigation is working fine,its giving me the data only for the selected org code(Org Code is numeric).But, the second navigation is giving all the results in the target report irrespective of the selected PWA#_L.PWA#_L is Alpha numeric
    Please let me know where i am going wrong.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • [CS3 JS SDK] Possible to Use HTTP URLs for Links?

    I am attempting to use JavaScript to implement a connector from CS3 (InDesign/InCopy in my case) to our content management system. Our CMS provides an HTTP-based API. By using the HttpConnection object (from the Bridge code, see posts on "httpwebaccess library") I can access our repository using HTTP URLs and, for example, get an InDesign document or INX file (and the UI support in CS3 scripting makes it possible for me to build all the UI components I need without having to write a true plugin).
    However, what I *can't* seem to do is create Link objects that use a URL, rather than a File, to access resources.
    My goal is to be able to store in our repository InDesign documents that use URLs to other resources in the repository for links (e.g., to graphics and InCopy articles).
    However, as far as I can tell from the scripting documentation and my own experiments, the URL property on Link is read-only in JavaScript (even though the scripting API HTML indicates it's a read/write property) and Link instances can only be constructed using File objects.
    My question: have I missed some trick in the scripting API (or elsewhere) that would allow me to create links that use URLs instead of files (and having done so would InDesign resolve those URLs?)? Our repository does support WebDAV, so that might be an option, but it would depend on mounting WebDAV services in consistent places on client machines, which is dicey at best, given the weak nature of the WebDAV clients on both Windows and OS X).
    Or are my only options to either copy linked resources to the client's local file system (or a shared network drive) or implement a plugin that implements my desired behavior for links?
    And if the answer is a plugin, will that even work?
    This is in the context of CS3. Has the Link mechanism changed at all in CS4 such that I could do what I want in CS4 where I cannot in CS3?
    Thanks,
    Eliot

    Hi,
    It is not possible to use HTTP URLS in CS3. You will have to create a plug-in to use Custom Data Links.
    I think it is possible to use HTTP URLs in CS4 as per the User Guide.

  • Problem in Using an URL in Exit Plug (NW 2004s SP12)

    Hi,
    I have a Webdynpro application to specify the terms and conditions for the users when they login to the portal for the first time.
    Upon Accepting the terms by the user, i used to loggoff the user and will redirect to the portal logon page again to relogin. (This was a requirment )
    I was using an exit plug with the URL pointing to loggoff.jsp which invalidates the session and redirect to the portal login page again. This was working fine in NW 2004.
    The code used to call the exit plug in the Window Interface view is,
    <b>wdThis.wdGetTermsandConditionsWindowInterfaceViewController().wdFirePlugToPortal("/globalportal/web/logoff.jsp");</b>
    When we upgarded into 2004s SP12 i am getting the folllowing error when firing the exit plug with the URL.
    <b>"The Exit Plug can not use an URL when used in Portal, use Portal Navigation instead"</b>
    We tried portal navigation as well, but seems that will work with PCD Objects only, where we need to redirect to the URL(logoff.jsp).
    I tried the HttpServletResponse.sendRedirect() as well, but the control remains in the TermsandConditions view only.
    <b>Code Used:
    WebCallback  webcallback = new WebCallback();
    HttpServletResponse response= webcallback.getResponse();
    response.sendRedirect(URL);</b>
    Please let me know if somebody faced this issue and the work around for this.
    My requirement is that upon clicking on the Accept button, i need to logoff the user by calling logoff.jsp will be destroy
    the session and redirect to portal login page.
    Please let me know the work around to call the URL in the view.
    Appreciate your reply.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sekar

    Hi
    Try
    WDClientUser.forceLogoffClientUser(null);
    url - the URL of the page that is shown to the user after logoff was done. If the parameter is null, the redirect is done to the "LogoffURL" URL that can be specified in the application properties. If this URL is also not defined, a redirect to a Web Dynpro internal logoff page is done.
    So you may either accept default logoff-page (just text "Web Dynpro application terminated. Good bye!" or provide your own page via application properties).
    Next, it is impossible to just log-off to auth screen. It is necessary to set as log-off URL some application that requires authentication also.
    This way WD will first log-off user, then shows auth-screen and then login him again to the target application.
    So try the following:
    In NW IDE open your application properties, and add standard property "log-off URL", for example "/useradmin/userAdminServlet?userProfileView";

    Hi,
    I believe you can get the video file using file transport and then convert it into base64 using a java call out...
    This may help...

  • Accessing a single portlet using an URL in a browser window

    Is there a way to access a portlet alone using a URL and render it in a browser? Am able to access a service request form similarly using its service request id in the URL. But i don't find an URL for portlet to access it separately in a browser. I need to have a link in a page, which when clicked would open up the portlet in another tab of the browser.
    Is this something possible?

  • How to pass many variables to servlet using a URL? Ajax related.

    I have 100 text boxes in my JSP and want to pass the values stored in these text boxes to a servlet with out the need for submitting the entire page using AJAX frame work.
    I know how to peform the above in ajax if I have only 1 textbox. But how can I do that with 100 text boxes. I don't want to build a huge URL with 100 parameters.
    I am thinking may be create an array and send it to the servlet, but don't have an idea if we can do it.
    Please help me .

    You can make a POST request using an XMLHttpRequest, but you won't be "passing many variables using a URL", which seems to be one of your requirements, and which makes your question confounding(after all how do you pass many variables using a URL without putting many variables in the URL):
    req.open("POST", url, true)
    req.setRequestHeader('Content-Type', 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded');
    req.send("first=Eric&last=Kaiser");

  • Possible to download specific file from TC using a URL?

    I've got a Time Capsule third generation with 2 terras of storage. I've configured the file sharing to accounts and I've also shared the disks over WAN so I can log on to my time capsule from an external IP adress by typing afp://"and my IP adress here" in the safari address bar and log onto my disks and access my files from anywhere. However! Is there anyway I can make a download URL for a specific file which I can give to for example a friend of mine so he can download that file and that file only using the URL without having to log on to TC with a password or account?
    I can imagine I will need to setup a kind FTP port or something... in which case the download URL will look a little like this: ftp://"myIP"/TCdisk/Folder/file.mov
    Am I onto something here?

    No, there is no ftp server in the TC so it won't work.. upload the file to service. There are tons of places on the web whereby you can share a few files.. google sites excellent.
