User Agent in FireFox works but not Safari

I am trying to log into whstuart.com/clients but it says it requires Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. This is the only every day task that I can't perform on Safari and would like to not have to use multiple browsers every day. I have been able to log in using FireFox with the User Agent switched to Internet Explorer 7 Windows Vista (downloaded settings from site in User Agent Switcher). I tried using Safari and switching to all the IE user agents but it will not get past the error message. I have tried editing the UserAgents.plist that is in Safari (show package contents) but haven't found anything that works. Any other suggestions?

If you have the develop menu enabled - you can disable javascript very quickly, or even assign a keyboard shortcut to it - that will get you past the browser test & display the login form - so just maybe... that's the only place they test, and you can re-enable js afterwards?

Just bought an iPhone 5C.. Safari is non-functional! A blank frozen screen! Any one else experience this? Horrid design Apple! It's your freaking web browser! Google Chrome works but not Safari! I may simply return this "upgrade" unless someone can help

First try a Reset: Hold down the home and sleep buttons, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons.

Once connected, Skype's working but not Safari and Mail

I got internet connexion through airport and my skype is working well. But I cannot open a web page with Safari or Firefox, or get/send email with Mail application. All three applications tell "you're not connected" !
Any idea what to do ? I'm using MacBook Pro, snow leopard.

It sounds as if your DNS server is either misconfigured or is not working properly.
Skype has the numerical IP addresses of servers it uses hard-coded into the program, so it doesn't need DNS to work properly, just an Internet connection.

Flash 10 works in FF but not Safari, OS X 10.5

About a week ago flash stopped working in Safari and both firefox and safari started bugging me to install a newer version. Muttering, I went to the download page and downloaded the latest, which claims to be for Safari, Opera, and firefox.
Installation completes fine with no errors. Firefox works. But in Safari, I just get the usual 'no flash installed, would you like to download it?'
I've downloaded and installed multiple times, no dice. Plug-ins are enabled on Safari. I do not have settings folders to delete--/Library/Application Supprt/Adobe has no flash player folder, only Acrobat, Updater6, and Help.
This whole thing is a black box and I don't see what else to do. Installation completes and there's no way to verify anything. Any ideas would be welcome.

and I swear, yesterday when testing it in Safari It worked fine.

Configuring the server would allow the OP to use file names
with no
extension [1], which imho would be a better approach [2].

Table borders show up with Firefox or IE but not Safari (Win or MAC)

This very simple site (http://www.brandondean.net) has two table borders that show up under FF and IE but not Safari (either Win v4.0 or Safari for MAC, same result). I'm not an expert but I did the work using Dreamweaver 2004 MX as XHTML compliant, tested every page at W3C.org to make sure they comply with XHTML, and they do (except for my not putting in "alt" on images). I even downloaded Dreamweaver CS4 to run the "clean up the code" command and nothing is fixing the problem. I'm hoping someone out there has seen this before and can help us out. Thx.

It's probably just because the border widths you are specifying are too small (or WebKit is interpreting picas differently to Firefox/IE - I say WebKit as the same problem is visible in Google Chrome and that uses WebKit like Safari as well).
Try setting using this instead:

Seeing it in context and in our browsers is much easier to debug.
If not, make sure to run the validator here The W3C Markup Validation Service and clear out any problems. HTML errors, especially structural ones, will cause all kinds of display problems in various browsers/versions/platforms.

I deleted my firefox bookmarks so I could import my gooogle bookmarks,but this also deleted my firefox bookmarks toolbar entries...it took me along time to put these in again.

You can try to remove the history manually in the History Manager by doing a search for a colon.
How many history items do you have to remove?
If you only want to do this once or occasionally then you can consider to use this code:

Password protection 4 FF3 but not Safari?

greetings.
first, i was able to post my albums from iweb on the web using safari only and not FF3. The password protection was working for safari. Then i found a handy patch to allow iweb to work on FF3. Now, however, the password protection only works when i open in FF3 but not Safari. weird. Anyone have this problem or have any tips?

it also helped to uncheck the "Miscellaneous" option in he "MIME Types" box in preferences
things are now working as they should
