User Connection Settings Not Holding

When I send a connection key to a user of Contribute 4, the
user is getting the following error when trying to implement the
connection key:
Your connection to this site has been disabled. The
administrative settings for this site are missing or have been
reset.
Typically, but not always, when I go back to "Administer" the
site, my admin role has in fact been dumped, but not sure why .
I am using CPS along with Contribute 4.
Any help is appreciated

I've also been having a weird issue. I've just bought this new 27" and the default iMac profile is causing color discrepancies between images on the web - basically the html background and jpg would not match. I tried everything - and finally narrowed it down to Display Profiles. When I randomly click through them and land on lets say Apple RGB, the problem disappears. no more color mismatch. But the iMac profile seems to be corrupt or badly made. I've settled on Generic RGB for now and it seems to hold.

  • Print settings not holding...

I have a setup where I'm using Reader to open PDF docs that are very large (24" by 36" docs). In previous versions of Acrobat, if I set the print setting to print 'Current View' and 'Fit to Page' these settings would hold between PDF files. So when users Zoomed to a specific portion of the PDF and printed it, they only got the part they were zoomed into - which is what we wanted. The users didn't have to do anything but hit print and click Ok - no settings changed required. Now we've gone to Acrobat X Reader and this 'Current View' setting will not stay put. Is there any way to make this stay? Config file, reg edit, or something?
I am considering the idea of setting up a web page with links to these docs so the users can browse for the file they need and have it open within the Acrobat Reader Plug-In in IE. So I would like to get these settings applied that way as well.
The only other option I can think of is using the Acrobat SDK and really customizing the web pages that way, but I'm not sure if that will give me the level of control needed to do this through the code side either.
Any solutions or other suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Keep in mind print settings are stored in the PSD document, so you may be thinking it's not remembering your print settings, when in fact it's rememebering them a different way...  In other words, if you print document 1 to printer A then save as a PSD, then print document 2 to printer B then save as PSD, then re-open document 1, the default printer for document 1 will still be A.
Another known problem with some printer drivers is that you have to set the parameters twice in order to get them to stick.  This could affect, for example, then number of copies to print.  A workaround is to make your changes, then go through the [Print Settings...] button twice (first time to make changes, second time to check the changes).
    Hope this helps!

  • Printing From PSE12 - settings not holding/prints are inconsistent.

Printing from PSE12, MacOS with PSE12 controlling color/appling profile.
Color management does not appear to turn off or disengage within any given print driver.
When selecting Color Matching, both ColorSync & given printer are active, both should be ghosted out.
After printing one image/sheet & printing again & selecting Color Matching within the print window both are ghosted out.
Saving a pre-set does not solve the issue.
Currently prints are not matching when having PSE12 controlling color.
what is causing this issue ?  Is it PSE12 ?  Is it the OS ?  WHAT !
    Please help.  THANKS

This inability to disable color management is within the OS, right ?  Or is it PhotoShop Elements ?
Yes I do have means of controlling color management from a driver stand point but the attempt here is to turn color management off from the OS & driver to allow the app to control color management.
Problem is that when printing and setting/selecting settings to allow this, it appears management is getting miss managed.
And if I set a pre-set within PSE, settings do not hold.
I do not want ColorSync to control color management.
I do not want print driver to control color management.
And settings to not hold from print to print and a pre-set does not appear to hold as well.
What is the fix for this ? Do not use PSE ?  Do not use MacOS, This does not happen on a WIN based system ?!?

  • Acrobat Color Management settings not holding

I am having issues with acrobat 8 & 9 holding the color management  preferences on the intel macs we have. I have placed the .csf file in  user/library/application support/adobe/color/settings. The .icc profile  is in user/library/color sync/profiles. We are using OS 10.5.8 &  10.6.4 both versions are behaving the same. I have used bridge to sync  the Adobe suite (AI,Photoshop and Indesign) and that works fine. Acrobat was not installed as part of the suite.

Figured out the issue. The .csf file was corrupt, remade the file and the settings held in prefernces.

  • Connection settings not applied

We have a X60s that has configured several connection profiles. On the wireless broadband it is not applying the network settings correctly. We have set WINS-server, lmhosts and Netbios in the adapter and the profile to the correct settings. But when it connects it removes all this settings from the adapter. Other settings like printers are applyed correctly.

  • Connection Settings not being saved

Firefox 4 keeps changing my proxy settings so when I start it up it can't access the internet and I have to manually change the settings in Advanced - Network - Settings to No Proxy so I can continue to browse. However this doesn't seem to remember this so I have to keep doing it every time.

    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved
This issue can also be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
    * Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
If it does work in [[Safe mode]] then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Proxy settings not holding in 10.3.9 on G5's

    Hello all,
I have some G5's that were built by another company to their SOE and I am having issues with them not using the proxy settings I have put into network prefs.
We use a proxy server to get to the net and I have put the correct settings in but Software update doesn't work and Safari doesn't either.
Firefox was on the machine also so I put the proxy setting into it (into it's prefs) and it took the setting OK and got to the net.
It's as if the underlying system won't take notice of the proxy settings.
    Any ideas guys ?

  • Save for web settings not holding (Mac)

I am trying out PE 9. When I use Save for the Web the settings are always at JPEG/Low. I use JPEG/High, but I cannot get PE to save the settings for other files. I tried deleting all Adobe preferences files, including the one for Save for Web, but it had no effect. Any suggestions?

Thanks Garry. I tried both methods without success. It works only for the same file, but not new files. I had looked for solutions to this issue in this forum and tried them all. If this is indeed a bug, it's appeared in earlier versions of PE. What I want to do is be able to set the Save for the Web settings for each new file I open in PE, just like I can do under Preferences for other elements. Any other suggestions?

  • Start-up problem; PMU settings not holding.

About 1 in 3 times when I restart or shut down and restart my computer, I hear the start-up chime and the fan turns on, then the machine stalls. After pressing the PMU button the machine boots with no problem. I tried resetting the PRAM, which didn't help. The battery voltage is 3.67.
Also, I've reverted to 10.4.6, because 10.4.7 was crashing. I read that there is an issue with running two monitors with 10.4.7. This seems to be true in my case.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I have determined that the battery was bad in spite of the fact that it's voltage was normal. Typically, bad batteries indicate slightly low voltages, not this one.
    Thanks,

  • Margin settings not holding on printed page and are jagged

A few days ago, on occasion only, printer began issuing paper jam message when printed page was all but a probably 1/8" already out.  Just touching paper really brought the page out the rest of the way.
I did pull out the two-sided paper accessory to look for any paper, but there is no paper jam that I can see.
Also, in the midst of printing sometimes it made a loud grinding (I guess) sound, but kept on printing and sent the page out completely.
Then I began to notice the left margin might slope inward as I look down the page or it may be different from one Word page to another and a little blurring occurs in a word here and there.
Finally, upon printing Excel pages I see a different left margin about what I consider to be every 2 lines.  This, of course, affects the right margin in the same manor, and the vertical cell lines also vary according to the variance of the left margin.
The HP software tells me there are no updates for me to download.  However, I don't know that it has ever mentioned any.  I haven't seen this precise issue listed.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Yay!  Smooth margins!  At first I mistakenly thought (without looking) the cord would not reach an outlet; so I downloaded the HP Scan and Print Doctor.  It told me there was a newer driver.  I admit I eventually found myself at a point where it wanted me to "install" as if the printer was being newly associated with my computer.  I paused and thought because I hadn't expected a new driver to want me to do a complete re-install.   I decided I should just try printing again, and magically it gave me perfect alignment.  So I stopped right there.  I had used the  recommended assisted download.  Perhaps I should have switched to the plain download.  While I'm not sure exactly what happened, it appears to be nicely fixed.
I thank you very much!  I'd not have figured that out on my own.

  • My iPod Classic 120GB is clicking and not turning on. It has been charged but does not hold charge. I am not able to restore factory settings. Error code and have tried troubleshooting options without success. Thoughts?

My iPod Classic 120GB makes a clicking noise when syncing with iTunes and will not sync. It will not turn on at this time and has been charged but does not hold the charge. After trying to sync, iTunes states that iPod must be restored. Have tried to do this but not successful, I receive an error code and have done the troubleshooting steps for the error and I am still not able to sync or use my iPod. HELP?

    Hi mafiose15,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
    How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
You can find the instructions in this article:

    All the best,

Applies to all worksheets that utilise a PQ connection registered in the gateway. (my gateway is on an azure VM)
Existing worksheets receive this warning. New workbooks that utilise these connections also receive this warning
Adding a new PQ to the gateway and a new workbook that uses the new connection also receives this warning.
Every PQ connection I have receives this warning. My PQ connections are all to web resources. Most are to the workflowmax.com API, and one is to the Azure Marketplace to retrieve data for a date dimension.
Note: this does not prevent me from scheduling or triggering a refresh, and the refresh itself completes successfully. It's just a weird warning that caused confusion as it sounds like the actual refresh will fail as well seeing as the connection test failed.

  • My iPhone 4 (purchased 9 months ago) is suddenly not holding a charge though I did nothing to change the settings, and, in fact, have turned anything that could drain it off. It will go from 100% to 70% overnight.

Ny 9-month old iPhone 4 is suddenly not holding a charge. It was just fine before this, but now, for instance, it goes from 100% to 70% overnight. Although I had not changed any settings prior to this happening, I have now turned off notifications, location services, etc. to see if it makes any difference, but it doesn't.

You may have other things causing it if you have push notifications for email or other things making background data connections. Try putting the phone in airplane mode overnight and see if that makes any difference. If it does then it's a background application issue.
