User Feedback: T540p with 3K display
Dear Lenovo,
I recently got my new T540P with 3K display and I like to give feedback.
Display: It is really a stunning experience. Especially after having used a 1600x900 resolution before. Thank you!!!
Keyboard: Great keyboard with some issues. The FN+Esc combination to get permanent access to the F-keys is annoying. The permanently illuminated FN-LED while having the FN-lock is also a pain. The keyboard is looking nice, but why are the volume and muting key removed? Now I have to switch between the F-keys and the volume keys - this is not very convenient. In combination with having acces to the F-keys only with the optional FN-lock is a not that intelligent design, to speak in a polite way...
Casing: Well, seems to be not of the same quality as before. I hope it will last long enough, we will see...
Trackpoint: What a pain in the a**!!! Instead of having feelable keys, like in the generations before, it is only a sleek surface. No way to feel the left/right/middle key. While using the touchpad itself, it seems to be a working thing. The Trackpoint keys do not appear to be very ergonomic any more. One of the outstanding features of a Thinkpad is now "optimized" to look elegant but the usability falls back. The next inconvenient thing is the loud clacking when pressing the pad instead of the buttons of former Thinkpads...
I hope the next generation of Thinkpads are better than the Tx4x series. With keyboard issues, like mentioned above, and the Trackpoint desaster I cannot recommend to buy a Thinkpad any more. It was a good time so far, but I start looking for alternatives, like HP or Dell (both are having a Trackpoint design).

New mac user needs help with default display
hi, i am a new mac user and i accidentally changed the default display. I want to change it back to the default display but it doesnt seem like any of the options in "system preferences" - "display" change it back to the default out of the box display. please point me in the right direction. thank you!
im talking about the screen resolution. I went under "system preferences" then clicked on "display" and somehow the mouse clicked on another resolution which stretched everything out. so I went threw all of the difference resolutions and nothing seems to be like the default one. am i missing something? thanks

User command is not getting triggered in interactive ALV with LIST display

I have developed an interactive ALV report with LIST display. Here, the issue is, when i double click a record in the primary ALV list, the control must go to the USER COMMAND event which i have written in my report. But the user command event is not getting triggered at all when i double click any record.
It gives the following information instead.

Sflock: simple X screen locker with basic user feedback
There are several applications out there that lock the X display. On the one side of the spectrum you have xscreensaver and xlockmore which provide screensavers and on the other side you have slock which provides nothing. sflock is an application that is built as an extension to slock, which provides very basic user feedback.
The need for me arrived because I wanted a screen locker that was trustworthy and that looks ok. Because I have no interest in screensavers and the xscreensaver unlock screen is one of the most ugly things I have ever seen, I turned to slock. This works fine, but there is no real way to tell that the screen is locked. You just type a password on a black screen and if it's correct, the screen gets unlocked. fslock (at least the first version) shows a line on the screen and displays asterisks for every character entered.
The goal of the application is to be simple and small, but still look good. You can install sflock from the AUR under the name sflock-git or download it directly from github. Suggestions are of course welcome.I've been trying to get this to use Xft for rendering the fonts, but this is essentially my first time doing anything in C. Sflock builds properly but segfaults when I try to run it.

How can OIM provision users with same Display Name in AD?
I can create users with same First Name, Middle Name and Last Name (same Display Name) in OIM if they have different UserId.
But I can not provision two users with same Display Name to one Organization Unit in AD, the resource provisioning shows

I agree once we determine that same cn exists in one OU , I can modify the display name by appending a number at the end or something. I understand the logic but I need more details on how to specify this logic in the pre-pop adapter, can you please share more details.

i would like to have some sort of user feedback when they attempt to type the 7th char. (red border, tooltip, etc...)

i can no longer shoot directly into phaseone software - neihter version 6 or 7 - since i use my new macbook pro with retina display. pictures are not transfered from the camera into captureone. anyone else with this problem? any solutions?

Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

Topic". I reviewed the information, but it is not quite what I
need. What I want is to put a link in one or more of my topics -
such as the overview I do for each section, that says something

for internal help files and thus the link would be to my email
address within my company. When the user clicks on the link in that
topic, the Help system displays/opens an email message. The To:
contains my email address and user can write message about the
topic.
I read about this last fall in a STC Intercom July/August
2006 article "Obtaining User Feedback:" Author is Jeremy Webb and
it was about sending an email message using JavaScript. I followed
his instructions, but ultimately the link would not work. I
corresponded with him, showed him exactly what I had done, and he
verified everything was okay. But still didn't work. When I
previewed my topic I kept getting RH HTML messages about the
reference to the feedback.js file contains illegal characters and
will not be shown in Project Manager.
The basic steps for his process involved creating the message
in Notepad, saving as "feedback.js", copying that Notepad file and
pasting it into the project top folder. Then you add the
Feedback.js file to the RH Baggage file, add links in topics to the
Feedback function. Then you also have to add some text to the
TrueCode in the topics.
Since his process has not worked for me, I a searching for
another way. I have been requested to include this feedback option
in my new project. Last fall I was using RH5 for projects, so I
thought perhaps it would be different now that I have RH6. Still
doesn't work. -
Incorrect feedback response is not displaying
Using Captivate 5.5, we have an issue on some questions where the Incorrect feedback caption is not displaying when users submit specific incorrect answers. The question are pretty basic. Four option multiple choice marked to shuffle answers. Submit, Back, and Clear buttons. Captions marked for Correct/Incorrect and Incomplete. User gets one attempt to answer and OnSuccess and Last attempt are marked to Continue with presentation.
But when users select certain options the Incorrect caption does not show and the course immediately skips to the next page (per the Continue option). What is strange is that the option that triggers this behavior is which ever option is in the first (A.) position in the Authoring environment. So if you have the following options listed in the Authoring environment with C being the right answer.
A. Red
B. Blue
C. Green
D. Yellow
After publishing, if a user selects Red regardless of what position it is displayed to the user due to shuffling options - the Incorrect caption will not display.
Users selecting other incorrect options or the correct one get their feedback caption and then continue as expected.
What is causing this behavior?You can move it off stage slightly so that none of the text appears, but at least SOME part of the caption MUST still be sitting on the stage area otherwise you will have the same issues. The alternative is to make the font size very small and remove all but a full stop or something. You can also colour the full stop so that it is the same colour as the background. Just remember that these captions are ALWAYS at the top of the stacking order for any other objects you add to the stage. So you cannot add a graphic on top to hide them.

Analysis Authorization based on Hier node with multiple display hierarchies
Hi guys - I've got a problem where s.o. might have an idea of how to switch on the light at the end of the tunnel, I am currently standing in:
Requirement:
Cost Center Authorization should be given through RSECADMIN, reporting should be possible for any hierarchy that exists for the authorization relevant info object.
Preferred solution:
The Cost Center Analysis Authorization should be given through RSECADMIN - Hierarchy node assignment.
u2022 A dedicated Authorization Cost Center Hierarchy will be maintained in ECC6 as an alternative cost center hierarchy and extracted into BW.
u2022 The RSECADMIN Hierarchy node assignment should be based on a particular node (Type 2).
u2022 The display level will be specified as required (here: Level 7)
u2022 The Authorization granted should be independent of hierarchy name and version (validity 3).
Reporting Scenario and technical impact:
As mentioned above, when designing and running a query the user should be able to freely select other (i.e. than the authorization) display hierarchies for the authorization relevant reporting object 'Cost Center' as well. The technical names of the semantically relevant hierarchy nodes could therefore vary. E.g. cost centers 1, 2 and 3, being assigned under hierarchy node u2018Au2019 of the RSECADMIN relevant authorization hierarchy, could be subsumed by hierarchy node u2018Bu2019 in another display hierarchy, which the user may want to display in accordance to his reporting needs. Ideally, the alternative display hierarchy should therefore display node u2018Bu2019.
My findings so far (based on prototyping) turn out that this is not possible as long u2018Bu2019 (and its hierarchy) is not authorized in RSECADMIN. Can these findings be confirmed? And if not, would anyone have an idea of how to facilitate the reporting scenario?
Would there be any other way to grant access, possibly based on RSECADMIN single values, and also enable the user to flexibly display hierarchies with only those hierarchy nodes whose single cost center values the user has been given access to?

I am also in the same situation as you and need to understadn your solution. I understand that you created a Nav Attr on 0COSTCENTER and made this auth relevant whilst ensuring that 0COSTCENTER is NOT auth relevant. This is all fine. The issue was you have multiple hierachies for 0COSTCENTER, how did the new Nav Attr help you solve your issue. When loading 0COSTCENTER what values did you load ino the new Nav Attribute and how did that link to the hierachies? Also, in RSECADMIN you created hiearchy nodes based on the Nav Attribute but I am confused as to what values you have in the Nav Attr.
I appreciate if you can share your solution from the past in more details.

My iPad Mini with retina display suddenly will not connect to the Internet. It shows full wifi bars, yet no web pages will load. My Internet is working with all other apple devices in my house. The iPad also no longer works with celluar data. I'm not sure what has happened. It was working fine a few hours ago. I have tried resetting it, ive restarted my browser etc. I tried to erase all data from my Ipad but I can't do that because it needs to sign into my Apple ID and use the Internet!
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

I had a fear that this was going to be the case, but you can't have two full screen apps open in two different displays. At least that's how Safari fullscreen works. When switching over to full screen mode in safari, it automatically creats a new space, turns on four finger gesture to swipe through full screen apps which I had turned off in place of App Switcher.
I don't use spaces because of the lack of support for using spaces with multiple displays. I would use spaces and mission control if I had control of each display's mission control separately.
The fix would be to unlink the displays so they can scroll through full screen apps by themselves. I want this feature so I can mix and match the full screen apps on my three different displays. I see this beneficial for more people with multiple displays. in the future when thunderbolt display links, people will want better support too.
I know I would use spaces and mission control more if I could have this ability. I'd be interested to know people's opinion.No no, if you read what I said, it would be that each individual display would be customizable to the user. The way you have it, it sounds like your second display will be dedicated to scrolling through fullscreen apps not allowing you to do it on the home screen. This is silly because with my concept, you could do that, by dragging apps to fullscreen in your second display, but if you want you could tell another display to scroll through fullscreen apps (independently) if you wanted. Each display will have it's own mission control with it's own set of desktops. I also can see how some people would still want them linked together, so this could just be a little check box made in mission control prefs to "link" or "unlink" desktops with link checked by default.
With your solution you're limited to your setup. but what if the person has three or four displays? Well then your solution would limit them to one dedicated display that scrolls through fullscreen apps where mine lets a person customize their desktops depending on their preference and setup.
further example: if you have safari, address book and mail in one display, you could still have ichat, PS and Illustrator in your second, and a text editor, FTP Client and iTunes in your third. Then you would mix and match these apps but it would promote the use of mulitple displays as well as benefit people with three or more, which thunderbolt, Cinema Display and Pro computers support.
