I can't open my firefox browser. An authentication required message pops up saying- a username and password are being requested by https://proxyvip.econ.mpg.de:444. The site says "Radius" - What do I do to get firefox working again? i can't do anything with it

You can check if you can start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> by holding down the Shift/Options key.

See if you can use the Profile Manager to start Firefox in Offline mode.

Try to start Firefox with the about:blank page by creating a copy of the current Firefox desktop shortcut and add a space and <b>-url "about:blank"</b> to the target/command field.
If that allows to start Firefox then check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

One thing that worked for me:
launched Message app which uses the same backend as Facetime. If it launches, click on the video. May display a Error Dialog. Call AppleCare and give them the number displayed. This will give them the needed info to check your AppleID account for the messaging servers
For some reason FaceTime did not display this error, yet once I gave the Support person the number it was fixed in just a minute.

Outlook/Thunderbird - username and password are re...

When I start Outlook or Thunderbird to access my email's, my username and password are rejected by the server even though they are entered correctly. (A pop up window appears asking me to enter my password). The only way to gain access to my email's through Outlook or Thunderbird is to log on to the BT Yahoo webmail page and log out of my BT Yahoo email account on this page and log back in again. Once I do this then Outlook or Thunderbird can now access my emails. This lasts for about an hour or so before the error message pops up again.
I have set up Outlook on several PC'/Laptops in my home and they all show this error, either at Outlook start up or after a period of time.
I have already reported this problem this week and had a BT Tech take over my laptop to try and solve the problem but to no avail. I tried to explain the scenario above to her but she did not accept that the problem could be at the BT server end. Something at your server end is periodically rejecting my login credentials for whatever reason and the only “fix” is as described above (the logout of webmail and login back in fix).
It may only be coincidence but this problem seems to have occurred since I had BT Infinity installed a couple of weeks ago.
I have set my email on my laptop to be both POP3 and IMAP and the error occurs using both setups.

There's a shedload on this if you search the forums. It's a Yahoo! server problem which BT can't/won't get them to fix. I believe it doesn't usually affect IMAP though.

Why do I have to type my username and password each time I log in?(My husband's username and password are always in a dropdown box)

When I go to the wild blue log in and click on the username box there is a blue drop down and it shows my husband's user name.

Are you referring to the SAME computer/login?
If not, he likely has auto-complete (or similar) enabled and you probably do not.

Since you seem to have tried mostly everything, apart from exchanging the motherboard, I'd say you have at least one option left, and that's to reinstall Windows from the recovery partition / recovery discs. That might solve the problem, if this is due to a software-error. General updates etc. might not work to fix such problems, but a clean install should.
If that doesn't help, I'd say the problem is somewhere either with the CPU or the motherboard, maybe bad connections or some sort of malfunction that prevents the computer from coming out of the 100% CPU usage.

I'm trying to set up my gmail account on my laptop and iPhone but everytime I try I get an error message that reads "Logging in to the Gmail IMAP server “imap.gmail.com” failed. Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then click Continue. If the information isn’t correct, you cannot receive messages." I get this message on both devices but when I log onto gmail from a web browser using the same info everything works perfectly. The username and password are correct but mail say they're wrong. Any ideas?

Go to ''tools->options'' and under the ''Security'' tab click on ''Saved passwords''. This will give you a list of sites that you have saved a password for. Just find your site and delete that entry.
There is a lot of useful information in this article about the [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/make-firefox-remember-usernames-and-passwords?s=password+manager&r=1&as=s Firefox Password Manager]. It should answer any other questions you might have.
You can also remove the cookies from that site to make the site forget you if you've created a remember me cookie.

     The device is not authorized to the Apple ID.
         Continue setup for the ID on the device.
There is an account issue
        Is she able to get signed in at
               Appleid.apple.com
                   and manage the account
Can she get signed in at
Supportprofile.apple.com ?
         How many devices are registered to that Apple ID?

I'm trying to access a forum that requires a user name and password. When I do it on my mac it tells me the password is incorrect but when I do it on my iPad, I can access it without any problem. I can confirm the username and password are the same

I am trying to access a forum for which you need a username and password but it keeps telling me the username/password i've entered are incorrect. Bizarrely, when I enter the same username/password combination on my iPad, it grants access without any problem.
What could be causing this, is it an issue with cookies, caches or similar. How can I resolve it? The forum administrator is at a loss as to what the problem is.

Try the following steps in Safari to see if they help:
1) First try clearing the Safari cache. To do this pull down the Safari menu and select 'Empty cache...', then try logging into the site again.
2) If the issue continues then reset Safari by pulling down the Safari menu and select'Reset Safari...'. You will be presented with a list of items that can be reset. I suggest selecting the 'Reset saved names and passwords', and 'Remove all website data' options at a minimum.

Clear history:
Clears the list of webpages you viewed.
Reset Top Sites:
Clears any changes you made to Top Sites, such as adding or pinning sites. If you also clear your history, your Top Sites page reverts to showing the webpage previews displayed when you first installed Safari.

One username and password not being added to keychain

I have entered a username and password for a webpage and answered yes when asked it I wanted this saved it to my keychain.
However I can not find the u/n and pass word in my keychain (Safari>Preferences>Passwords) and this u/n and pw is not shared with my other devices. All my other u/n and pw are in my keychain and are shared with all my other devices.
Can I manually add a u/n and pw to my keychain?

I did previously have "Private Browsing" selected and deselected that and that is when I could set up FF with my username and pw but could not on Wells Fargo. So, I did what you suggested and that was to delete cookies because that seemed like a good reason but alas, it still will not give me the option to set up the username/pw.
I would not be surprised if it is Wells Fargo, they are a bit of a pain. You cannot even save them in Bookmarks because I was told they are constantly making changes to their site and this stops the bookmark from working.
