Using a MB Pro 13 inch (My mac) I saw a post stating the poster had replaced his old HD with a 250G Solid State Hd-AND he had put a 1T regular HD where the opticle drive is. Is this really doable?
Can the optical be replaced w a HD for extra storage

Hi, never used support before - here goes!
My Mac G4 MDD no longer shows the start up hard drive icon. The one with all my files on!

Finder -> Preferences -> General -> Show these items on the desktop -> Hard disks
The startup disk is sometimes treated differently from other disks (such as external and network disks) and I'm guessing this is a simple preference setting, although I might be wrong. -

Click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner of your screen and select About This Mac. Click on the More Info... button and you should see what your processor is.

Having problems with front row (and the opticle drive)
I bought my macbook three days ago, and I'm already having problems. First off, I transfered music from my user profile on my old iMac G5 to the macbook via data DVD. My music collection had some purchaces from the itunes store, so I had to go through the authorization thing, and I can now play them just fine in the iTunes library, but the problem is, if I try to use the front row program to play my purchaced music, I get the message saying that I have to authorize it first. What the ****? Does anybody else have this problem? Also, like many other macbook users, I'm having problems with the opticle drive, such as getting cds to be recognized and other things of that nature.
I noticed that this problem started after I tried to use a software to unlock my drive's region...
I believe this is the problem. The VLC Media Player will usually play DVDs from other regions without changing the settings on your optical drive. You may need to reset your optical drive's firmware back to the original setting, make sure you have the region set for the one you'd prefer to use the most and then use VLC to play the other DVDs.

P.S. After two years in the Front Row forum, I'm not sure I've ever heard of anyone playing HDDVD_TS folders with Front Row. I'm not saying it won't work, but I'm not sure it's really supported either. I do have DVD Studio Pro myself, but I'll have friends or family staying with me for nearly the next month, so my evenings and weekends will be a bit full to try making one up for testing... -

If you follow the steps very carefully and do as each says, this will solve your problem.. Now i am very happy i can actually install iTunes and use it for my iPod.
Remember to be carefully with the steps as the things you will be deleting are very important to your comp.

I mostly work on Mac desktop, but use a Macbook Pro on trips. Due to limited HD space on the latter, I want to create a library of part of the images on the Mac, to be used on the Macbook. I do not however want to remove these images from the Mac library.
Choose one or more Projects, and then use Export as New Library (from File). The resulting export will be a fully functioning Aperture Library to either transfer and open on the Macbook Pro, or to Import into a library you already have on the MBP.

Disclaimer: This response assumes that a "new mac pro tower" is the new cylindrical model.
1. You cannot download Final Cut Pro 7. FCP7 is part of Final Cut Studio (2009) a.k.a "FCS3" and it was only released on a DVD set. It can still be purchased online (maybe even from Apple) for prices ranging from a few hundred to $1K and it is 5 years old and unsupported.
2. Although there are reports of systems running FCS3 on Mavericks, there are also a host of problems associated with this OS/software combination.
3. A new version of iMovie Pro Final Cut Pro X has been released which is reportedly very fast and is supported.
It's all a matter of what kind of movies you make... -

5 authorizations: Some households have multiple computers. If you want ot use one with an account it has to be authroized. It means you can use any computer in the house to make purchaes, etc.

Hello, Im trying to Install ITunes 7.2, and I get this error:
"Unable to install the gear driver set at this time. The GEARAspiWDM service use by the GEAR driver set is scheduled to be deleted during the next system reboot. Please reboot the system and run itunes again"
I am installing ITunes for the very first time on my comp, cuz I just received a new 2GB Nano.
I've tried rebooting,tried uninstalling my Quicktime and removing it from my comp, uninstalled and cleaned any remnants of previous ITunes using the windows cleaner, disabling both my mcafee and pccillin, and it still comes up with the error.
I'd be indebted to any suggestions or resolutions!

Hello, I have been having trouble installing iTunes. I uninstalled it because I wasn't able to put songs on my iPod. And when I tried to reinstall it, I got this error:

First off, I don't even have iTunes installed any more. Second, I don't know what the heck the GEAR driver is.
Please help!

I bought a season pass for a TV series on my MAC. It shows up on my Apple TV but isI not loaded. I had to download on my MAC the wait again to download on the Apple TV. Is this really how it is done? It is very time consuming. What am I doing wrong?
If you downloaded it to your Mac you don't watch it on your ATV unless you are using home sharing. Otherwise, you can stream it from your ATV directly from the store... which means you somewhat download it twice.
