Using a method return in a taskflow router
I have a custom data control with following method:

How can I use the return value of this method call to drive the decision of a router component of the taskflow?
We can not used the method for decision the navigation rule.You have to use the router for resolving your issue.
Or if you want to navigate through the method then inside your method you have to programmatically navigate to pages on the basis of diffenent condition.
you can used following code for navigation .

I have this requirement to map AM method return values in the bean as explained below. Please suggest a solution.
Scenario: I am calling an AM method, which returns a String object on page load.
AMImpl Method-

I wish to catch this retun value in the Bean Variable on page Load. I have created a methodAction biding on page and invokeAction to call this method on Page Load, but I don't know how to catch this value in the bean. Please suggest how to achieve this. Also, I need to achieve this in jsp page. I can't use TaskFlow for this.
I am using ADF 11g.

and in the backing bean you can access it by calling resolveExpression("#{bindings.retVal.inputValue}")
You can also call your method directly from the backbean
((YourAppModuleImpl) getBindings().getDataControl().getApplicationModule()).yourMethod();

Try this:

Issue with a method call in a TaskFlow (works 2 times instead of 1)
Hi guys,
i'm using jdev11.1.1.1.2.0 and the integrated weblo or remote weblo 10.3.2.0.
I'm encountering a problem with a method call which is invoked inside a Task Flow.
Let me tell us the details of :
I'm invoking a method call which is part of a Task Flow from the backingbean of the view which is placed before the method call in the taskFlow diagram.
AN outcome String from the method of the backing bean allows to navigate to the method of the Task flow.
The method call is called and works normally BUT MY PROBLEM IS THAT THE METHOD IS CALLED TWO TIMES SO THE RESULT IS FALSE.
For information, the second time the method is called it takes care of the result when it is invoked the first time. So its parameters are updated and are a little different from the first time to the second time.
NB : This method consists of inserting a row in the database. My result is 2 rows inserted instead of one.

but how to use "toEntitiesExceptSpaceEscape" method in JSTL?????Why can't you just assign the method's return value to a variable and then print that? A bit of scriptlet code will do the trick. (As much as we all hate to use scriptlet code.)
I believe you'll be able to do what you want in the 1.1 standard JSTL, but for now this will suffice. - MOD -

You don't have to do anything in the custom JSPProvider's getContent method except the call { return super.getContent(request,response); } . If all you want is just to show your jsp, then create a channel from the default JSPProvider, and edit the property contentPage of that channel from samplecontent.jsp to your jsp name, save the changes and login again. You should see your JSP.

Can I use Netgear powerline range extender with Actiontec router M1424WR-D?
We have been using FIOS internet happily with an Actiontec router (M1424WR-D) since 2008, but we have a 'dead zone' in a remote part of our home. I am attempting to install a Netgear Powerline AV 200 Wireless N-Extender kit in the dead zone room, but have not been successful. If I give a unique SSID to the extender, and do not set any encryption, I am able to have wireless connection in the room, but having unprotected wireless connection is unacceptable to me. If I use the same SSID for extender and Actiontec router, and use the same encryption key for the extender as is used on the Actiontec router, then I no longer have wireless connection in the room. I hope someone can provide some help in understanding what it is I'm doing wrong in setting up this powerline extender. Should the extender have the same SSID and encryption key? Should it be a different one? Thanks for any help.

At last I finally have been able to get a Netgear Powerline AV200 Wireless-N Extender Kit to provide wifi in the 'dead zone' in our house, and I was able to secure the network with an encryption key which I set up wirelessly, instead of relying on the 'wired' security option offered by the kit (a push-button on the side of the extender box). None of the phone techs at Netgear were able to figure out why we could not get the kit to work properly to begin with, and I finally gave up on the phone techs.
For anyone interested in using this product and who needs to set it up with a non-Netgear router, or a router that does not have a WPS button on it, please be aware that the resource CD in the box may be out of date. You will need to go to Netgear's website and download the Powerline Utility software for your device directly from the website. You will need to supply your product serial number in order to get the download. It is important to have this up-to-date software. I discovered that the up-to-date software downloaded from Netgear functioned more smoothly and allowed me to set up my encryption effortlessly. After forcing a factory reset on the extender and removing the device IP addresses associated with the initial unsuccessful attempt to create a secure network, I was able to set up the extender and secure it with absolutely no problem. The up-to-date software seemed to be the critical factor. The product seems to be working really well now and so far we are happy with it.
A word of caution when dealing with Netgear's phone techs. On some occasions when I phoned into Netgear my case was farmed out to a company called i-Yogi. I had a disturbing experience with one of the techs at i-Yogi. One of the i-Yogi techs said he could help me to set up encryption on my network using the AV200 extender, but that he needed first to gain remote access to my laptop. He also wanted access to another laptop in our house in addition to the one I was working from. This seemed odd and I refused to allow access to the second laptop. After gaining remote access he noted that I was using Norton 360 and he claimed that it was not working with my XP operating system and attempted to sell me a copy of McAfee security software at a reduced rate. He became very pushy about this. I refused to engage in this purchase and insisted that he return to the task of troubleshooting my encryption issue. At this point he still had not once attended to the configuration of the extender settings at all, but even so he refused to assist me, saying that it was not his problem that my network was not secured. It was not a good experience, and I believe he had a totally different agenda than dealing with my technical issue. -

Class (static) methods however, are fine. -
ALV GRID DISPLAY USING FACTORY METHODS

I am using factory methods for my alv grid display.
I have a list of functionalities, for which i am not able to find a correct method..
1) Header of alv(with all the values of the selection-screen)
2)How to give text to a subtotal(ed) column, i.e. if i subtotal a qty field against a sorted field, i want to display ==> Nett Wt. = 123.00 (for first header entry) and so on for each header entry.
3)how to remove the zeroes from a quantity field?
4) Displaying the cells as blanks where data is 0( for quantity fields if i have a cell with zero value, it should be blank.)
5) double click on a cell to open a transaction with the cell's value.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

NullPointerException thrown when using get method in CMR relationship outsi
We are using weblogic 9.1 CMP entity beans with BEA's XA oracle driver. We have a bean called User that has a many address beans. When calling the getAddresses method on a UserLocal a NullPointerException gets thrown if the stateless session bean method that is marked as @LocalMethod(transactionAttribute=Constants.TransactionAttribute.SUPPORTS). If we change it to REQUIRED the method returns addresses successfully. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? Below is the stack trace.
My best guess is that an exception is occurring and when weblogic tries to handle the exception EJBRuntimeUtils.throwEJBException encounters the NullPointerException.

Open an official support case. This has nothing to do with jdbc.
