Using a touch on a mac and a pc?

Hello everyone!!
Well i have a question about a touch i just ordered for a friend as a gift.
Actually she has a pc and i have a mac.
Once received i wanted to put some music, video and photo inside, but i wonder if the touch will be associated to my mac or if it will be able to work with a pc?
Thanx for any answer!

If your iPod is formatted for a PC, then it can be used on both a PC and a MAC
If your iPod is formatted for a Mac, then it can only be used on a Mac.
To format an iPod, all you have to do is restore it in iTunes obviously on a PC or Mac.

    Yes.
You can authorize up to 5 computers to play itunes music ( pre-itunes plus).  There is no limit on itunes plus ( all itunes music for the past several years) and imported music.
You can sync as many ipods/ipads/iphones as you like to each of your computers.

Is it possible to sync an iPod Touch with a mac and a pc?

You can only sync an iPod touch to one computer for music, videos, movies and apps. You could, however, sync to the Mac for media content and the Windows system for contacts.

  • Are there any differences between using Adobe Illustrator on a MAC and on a PC?

    Hello,
I'm about go enroll in a class specialized for teaching Adobe Illustrator in order to be able to use the program at work.  The company that I work at uses Macintosh computers to deal with clerical work and everything, so I would like to know if there are any differences between using Adobe Ilustrator on a MAC and on a PC.  The school that offers training teaches two types of classes, where one uses Illustrator on a MAC, and the other one on a PC.  The PC class is able to have an earlier start date, which is why I'm sort of leaning towards choosing that class as I need to be able to use the software as soon as possible, but if there are main differences between the interface that will affect my knowledge of using Illustrator on a MAC after I take the class with Windows systems, then I will most likely be waiting for the class teaching in MAC systems.
Thanks in advance for the help!
Oh and another suggestion- should I take the Illustrator class in CS6 or CS5?

Reading through the CS5 vs CS6 performance thread, the Mac version seems to have worse performance than Windows version.  From a starter's perspective the differences would most likely never be realized.  It will take some time to see differences between even CS5 and CS6 other than the visual aspect of course.
Definitely take the CS6 versionso you can say you have it.  CS5 is my preferred version, CS6 is garbage with the bugs it has for the type of work I use it for.

    One off puchase: no.
Subscription: yes. Up to two computers, for your own personal use, not at the same time.

  • Easiest way to use one bt device with mac and iPhone?

What's the easiest way to use one bluetooth device with both Mac and iPhone? (Not a the same time.) I have it working with a voip phone on my mac (x-lite), or with the Bria voip app and the ATT line on my iphone.  What I want is step by step how to accomplish the transition with the fewest clicks. I understand that I can't use it with both the Mac and the iPhone at the same time, and that's acceptable.
But it's tedious, and I would like to switch it back and forth several times a day.

You might be thinking of Crossover. Not sure if Windows Media Player works under it, but their website has info on requested and working apps.
    Best of luck.

  • Can I use my iPhone with my Mac and PC's iTunes?

Can I use my iPhone with my Mac and PC's iTunes interchangeably?
Will it erase all my songs?
I am assuming since both versions of iTunes (Mac and PC) are registered under my email it's okay--- would that be right?
I don't want to have to put back each song again
    thanks in advance!

With the iPhone, you can sync all iTunes content with only one computer. Trying to sync iTunes content with a second computer will result in iTunes erasing the content from the first computer. However, non-itunes content such as contacts, calendars, mail settings, notes, etc. (anything in the Info pane) can be synced from another computer.

  • Can you use time capsule for your mac and have readynas backup your pc's on the same network

Can you use time capsule for your mac and use readynas to back up your pc's on the same network

Sure, that is trivial setup.. they both have different names and IP addresses.
You should be able to use ReadyNas for TM backup but you should check the latest state of play for that.

How:  MS Word to .pdf by Command P, hitting the PDF button, and then the button for "save as Adobe pdf"
I didn't have this problem at all on prior versions of Adobe on my PC.   This isn't a Mac attack, is it?

I am in RGB colour space, but when I try to save a PNG photoshop stops responding and I have to force quit.
I have found a way to save PNG's using Preview, but it is worrying that PS crashes on me.

  • Using iPod Touch to hear mac's audio

    Hi,
I would like to watch movies on my mac and listen to the mac's audio via my ipod headphones. I have tried Airfoil, but it lags by a second when I use their player, so I'm looking for something else. I have mac pro with bluetooth, and so does the ipod, is there any way to use my ipod as bluetooth headphones?
    Thanks,
    Zevie

Bluetooth in the iPod touch is only for connecting to Bluetooth Stereo headphones. It can't connect to a Mac.
To be honest, I think you'll always get a bit of audio lag trying to stream audio over Bluetooth or Wifi to the iPod touch and then ot through headphones (even if its possible).
At the risk of asking a silly question, why can't you just connect your iPod headphones to the headphone port on your Mac (with an extension cable if its too far away), or get some Bluetooth headphones to connect to your Mac?

  • Use 1 Library for both Mac and PC OS's?

I have a pretty basic question about itunes. I am running a Mac Pro and bootcamp with Windows Vista on the other side. I have 3 seperate Hdds. One for Mac...One for PC...And one for audio files and pictures and other stuff.
I did have my itunes music library on my Mac Hdd for when Im running OSX. Well i still do. But what I want to do is move my itunes library to the 3rd Hdd (non-bootable) and hopefully use it for both the Mac OSX and the PC Vista side. So instead of having the same library copied to 2 seperate Hdds for the 2 seperate OS's Ill have 1 itunes library and be able to access it from both Os's. I have Mac drive 7 installed so I know I can access the 3rd HFS+ comp drive from the PC OS.
So how do I go about doing this right so I dont screw anything up?

The easiest way to do this, I think, involves copying the Music folder from OS X to the new hard drive. Then delete the old Music folder from the OS X drive. Create an alias to the new Music folder, copy it to your home folder, and rename it to the same name as the folder you copied. (i.e. copy /Users/john/Music/iTunes to AUDIO/Music/iTunes, then create an alias to iTunes and copy it to /Users/john/Music. Rename the alias to iTunes.)
Dealing with Windows is more difficult, as only Explorer follows shortcuts (NTFS doesn't support 'true' symlinks). I think you can set iTunes to read the AUDIO/Music/iTunes folder as its library folder in Edit > Preferences.
    Good luck.
