Using AbleNet intelliswitch with switch control?

I am attempting to interface AbleNet IntelliSwitch to Yosemite Accessibility Switch Control on MacBook Pro to use a button switch as a click and enter. I have that set in the Intellitools software, but Mac is not recognizing it at all points when tested by manually moving the mouse pointer and then clicking with the external switch.

The IntelliSwitch is so old - I don't think it will work with Switch Control. The only thing you might try is seeing if it will work without the driver installed. Intellitools is meant to be used with Discover Envoy and it just may be that if you try it without the software, it might work.
Don't get your hopes up though. If you'd like me to recommend some switches that I know work with Switch Control, let me know.

Using stored procedures with dabasae controls

Hi. We have two questions.
Answer 1:
We are working with Sybase and we are trying to use stored procedures (SP) with databse controls but we don't know how to obtain SP's return. We can to use SP normally if that SP don't have any return. Next example works fine but "stored_procedure_name" actually returns an number (error code) and we need to obtain it:
* @jc:sql statement="{call stored_procedure_name (?)}"
Answer 2:
Do you know how to call SP dinamically? This mean to call an sql statemente where stored_procedure_name and its parameters could be pased as paremeters. That looks as:
* @jc:sql statement="{call {sql: spName} {sql: listOfParameters}}"

I have my entity manager setup in a singleton.
I'm finding it's costly to generate the emf, but if I don't close the em (enitity manager) and emf (entity manager factory) my open cursor count climbs until I exceed the max number of open cursors on the database (11g RAC)
I'm committing the connection, and uow, and closing the em at the end of each call.
But until I close the emf, the open cursors aren't released.

Using e-mail with parental controls

Is there a way to get the parental controls to allow my daughter to access her college e-mail and still have the adult website filtered? My daughter is starting college classes (at 14 yrs. old). The classes are set up for kids are above average achievers to help them get a head start in college. When she tries to access the college e-mail, there is an error message that says it is not a secure connection. We fixed this problem in the past with her aol mail by setting up the mail program on the MAC. We did allow her to have her own gmail address, thats another story, but she can access it without using the MAC email program.
Is it possible to set up the MAC to let her have access to the college mail and still filter the internet. The last time I had to select "Allow unrestricted access to the internet" under "content" to let her access her college e-mail account. How is it possible for her to access her gmail account without using the MAC's e-mail program?

You know, I expected an answer like; "Your parental control can't be used like that. Its just a program, so it will try to block adult sites, or block unsecure connections. Like AOL mail for example. If you want her to access the school mail, then you'll just have to allow unrestricted access to the web. You can still monitor her web browsing. As for gmail, some email sites are able to be accessed even with the parental controls turned on."
I even expected some arrogant replies like Carolyn's. Telling me how to access gmail.

How to use oxygen 8 with logic -- control knobs

Hey
I have an oxygen 8, and if I use it with Logic, the keyboard and pitch bend work, but not the knobs. It was the same with GarageBand, but I don't think with Garage Band it is even possible to get the knobs to work.
It's gotta be possible with Logic, though -- anyone know how?

Hi...good news - it's easy!
if you wanna control the global pan. open the mixer, click on the pan of the output 1-2 channel strip then open the controller assignments (command - L). Learn mode should be selected now move the knob on your oxygen 8 that you wish to control global pan with. click on the "learn mode" button to deselect it and moving the newly assigned knob on your oxygen 8 will control global pan.
This works the same for all plug-ins and instruments too - so you can control the cuttoff and resonance on the exs24 for example or any control on any plug-in.
you need to make sure you activate the control on the plug-in first and then on the oxygen 8.
Also, you can find the controller assignments window here:
Logic Pro>Preferences>Control surfaces>Learn assignments for.... or Controller assignments...

Course (stepping) line width and opacity using paintbrush tool with stylus control enabled

why are my lines jaggy/stair-steppy at the ends when i use the paintbrush tool?
I have Photoshop touch for phone loaded on my Samsung Galaxy Note i717 running Android v4.0.4.
I enabled stylus control for both size and opacity.
Rather than having lines that begin and end smoothly like real ink/paint, they step from skinny to medium to fat.
Is there a fix for that? The Sketchbook app and S-note can make smooth lines - why can't PS touch for phone do that??

Using Front Row with remote control?

Hi,
Can anyone please advise if I can activate Front Row using the remote control in OSX Server?
Before I upgrade from OSX 10.4 to 10.5 Server, the remote control was working fine. I believe OSX Server may have disabled it? Is there anyway to enable it?

Using picture ring with multiple controls

I am using a picture ring with 21 pics in it.each pic represent a state, I am using a flat task structure to execute this states. the question is how can I increment the picture ring from inside every single state/task?

if you are already using a state machine you should not use a flat sequence structure. you can make your program more useful just by using the state machine itself and telling it which fram to go to when completed I have attached a VI that explains this eaxample

Using stored proc with database control

I have a beta copy of sp2 for wl8.1 and I see that you have added the ability to
call stored procedures that return output variables from a database control.
I am trying to figure out whether there is any way to return a ref cursor as an
output variable.

Switch control settings - prevented from using touch screen

I have turned on switch control and now managed to lock myself out of usdiong the screen all together.
Heres what i set: Settings > general > accessibility > switch control > switches > add new switch > full screen > scanner select item.
with switch control turned on i cannot use the screen at all.
i have tried asking sir to turn it off but he keeps saying "which setting" and triple clicking the home button brings up the switch contol header up but i am still unable to use the screen.
i have read that i can turn on voice control by asking siri, but that brings up a screen where i need to again use the screen.
occasionally i see a blue box travel oer the screen but i dont know how to use this or how to bring it up again.
has anybody got any ideas???

If you somehow turn on "Screen" select item, it renders any touch useless.
Here's what you can do, even if you have your phone password protected.
Use Siri to turn on Assistive Touch.
1. Hold down home button and ask siri: Turn on Assistive Touch
2. May have to send a second command: on.
Now your screen should be accessible.

I was playing with Switch control on my iPod touch 5 and i added a screen switch and i got the sliding cursor but I deleted the screen swith and the cursor dosnt go away even though it does nothing how can I make it so I can turn Switch Control without the cursor?

Using CD with parental controls

I teach college and I have twelve MacBooks in my classroom. I've enabled parental controls on student accounts, but apparently this disables their ability to run software from the CD that accompanies their textbook. How can I enable use of CDs with parental controls enabled?

I can, but the software is specifically designed to be run from the CD because it's a hybrid CD (runs under Windows and Mac OS). I'd rather not bother with installing anything.

hi, im working with the DAQ NI USB6259. i want to use DAQ as a switching control for HV relay.my problem is i want to control 2 switch and HV relay. for the 1st 10000s period, switch 1 will ON and after 10000s period,switch 1 OFF and automatically switch 2 ON. can this DAQ model use as a switching control and can i get some example on how to control switch automatically for certain period or any idea to solve my problem.

Your question has nothing to do with NI Switches. It should have been posted to the multifunction DAQ or digital I/O board.
A port of the USB-6009 consists of multiple lines and you can easily write to all lines if you are configured for port access. For example, if you write a binary 001 to the port, you output a 0 on lines 1 and 2 and a 1 on line 0. Writing a binary 100 will write a 1 to line 2 and a 0 to lines 0 and 1. Instead of port mode, you can use line mode and either use one task for all three lines or a separate task for each line.
You have not mentioned which language you are using. If LabVIEW, open the example finder. You will find some simple examples of line and port mode. The DAQ Assistant can also be used. This is a very simple task to code. If you continue to have problems, post the code you've writte. You should also review the information on the DAQmx Getting Started page.

What is the use of switch control ?

when i go to switch control and add a new switch as screen tap. then i enable the switch control. what is the use of that? every time i tap i get the app switcher(multi task) which is good but to go to a certain app i have to tap home button 3 times. i dont know if im wrong. but in switch control i can add gestures but cannot find a way to use it. (simply if i can add special gesture like a swipe with 3 fingures and if i can get multitasker or siri or any other program it will be very use ful isn't it?)
