Using AP3 for a website

Hi,
I have decided it's time to revamp my current website (HTML generated by iView MediaPro - yes its that old!) and was wondering if I can do it all in Aperture 3, to save a very convoluted round trip between iView and AP3...
I can see I can export using a web theme for pages and journals for perhaps an index page, but I can't see how to add links between them for a navigation bar at the top.
I have iLife 09 loaded so could use iWeb, but a large client of mine still uses IE6 and a test iWeb gallery (and mobileme gallery) didn't work on his IE6.
I already pay for web hosting so would rather not pay again for Smugmug or one of the other pro style web photo hosts.
How does everyone else do it?

You will need an HTML editor and manually add the links you require, we used to work this way on our website and it was fine.
We have since changed to hosting all of our images on a photoshelter site,
www.library.digital-image.com.au
We still have our obligatory site, actually gets used a lot for distributing files to clients, but that is about all.

It's beta open source software so I'm not surprised. It does't look to be too active a project, so I don't know if it will help or not but you might be maybe better off posting a bug report on their Sourceforge page here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/kompozer/

How to use IWEB for multiple websites?

Okay.
I have two websites. One on a 3rd party, one on .MAC.
Computer 1 = .MAC website
Computer 2= 3rd party website
I want to use computer 2 to edit my .MAC website and moved the DOMAIN file but haven't open it in iWEB on the second computer as I need to know how to open and not destroy the 3rd party website.
How is this done?

You can rename the domain file to something descriptive of the site and open them manually. But I find it much safer to use iWebSites for managing multiple sites, over 25. I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

Using iweb for school website

This may have been answered before but I cant find it in the discussion. I want to set up a website for a very small school (24 students)using iweb. Do I have to use Apple for the ISP and if so is it the same rate as for a private individual?
Anyone out there done the same thing? I have been using the moogle style and they are unbelievably complicated for someone like me! Iweb seems to solve those tech problems and I would love to use it.

It is extremely easy to produce a site like this within iWeb. Just start with a white template so that you can design is yourself as they have done.
To get the colours, what they have done and you can do is create a text box and then use either colour fill or gradient fill to achieve the contrast in colours. They have then placed photos and their logos over this. You could even achieve the same effect with a shape too with a rounded or a square edge that is colour or gradient filled.
For the navigation bars, all you need do is to go to the Inspector and hide the page template nav bar and create your own as they have done. They have probably created theirs by using either shapes or text boxes that are again colour/gradient filled. You can then enhance the look by using picture frames to make them stand out more. Don't forget to hyperlink them though. The other nav bar is just done using different text styles and colours.
It is really as simple as that and to make it even more effective you can change the colour of the page background and also the browser background for even more effect. Just open Inspector and go to Page Layout where all these changes can be made.

Proxy.pac file not working for using proxy for selected websites

After changing my ISP, i cant connect to Bluenest.org directly but with proxy. I can also connect by setting manual proxy server for all websites. But I dont want to do that as there is a bit security problem. I just wrote Proxy.pac files to use proxy sever for that particular website & put its location on Automatic Proxy Configuration. But its not working. I va tried with two types of .pac files. Given the code of the files below.....
First one..........

I am wondering why the java site that I use workes on my Mac, but not my iPad or iPhone. I really need to be able to use this for my website... Any clue?

Should I use flex for my website

Hey, I am having trouble figuring out if I should be using

I would say that if you don't know the answer to that
question, then the
answer is probably no. You need to have a pretty firm
understanding of how
sites like that work under the hood before trying to build
one in Flex.

Using indesign for a website

Can I build a book in InDesign and export it to my web design program? I'm looking to incorporate a "turn the page" book on my website. Any ideas would be appreciated!

If you're looking for the page curl that's a SWF feature. The SWF file can easily be placed into any webpage.

you know that story with chatroulette is just a PR action and that russian guy is a fake. i know the man who's behind chatroullette. he's an entrepreneur from Russia and already started some successful project in usa. so don't believe that things about american dream. i would say CR is NOT using stratus at all. it uses simple rtmp and not RTMPF. i don't know why adobe stuff 's ignored your question, but i'm there just to clarify but i'm not from Adobe.

InDesign for wireframing websites?

Do any of you use InDesign for wireframing websites? I need to create a wireframe for a site. I was all prepared to do it in Fireworks. Fireworks has some fantastic features, but I need better PDFs than what it can export. (I tried every setting I could think of but PDFs created from my wireframes always looked fuzzy -- I guess Fireworks can't export vector into a PDF.) So next up: I was considering Illustrator. Then, I saw something on InDesign Secrets about how some folks use InDesign for wireframing. And I do know InDesign better than Illustrator. So wondering if I should try it that way. Do any of you use InDesign for that purpose? If not, got any recommendations for software for wireframing (something that will give me better PDFs than Fireworks)?

So recently I've created a REALLY basic wireframe using InDesign. I basically created the visual direction so my client could easily understand how the Web site would flow. In other words, boxes with page names and lines connecting them. It can be really simple if all you're trying to do is show the site's direction.
From there, we will create the in-depth visual layout for the splash page, home page and a global page (This is where I utilize Photoshop/Fireworks/Illustrator or Flash). This is where we will dive into color schemes, and layout schematics. In our case, this a site where we have no logo established, but have the overall concept in place, so that's why we haven't decided on an overall theme just yet. Still working out the kinks!!
