Using Apple TV device through 890L?

I currently have Dish satellite and want to cancel and use the Apple TV device to watch TV using the 4G LTE 890L as my router. Has anyone done this, is it a wise decision to pay Verizon for a larger data pkg., or keep paying Dish $80.00 plus per month, and Verizon $60.00 monthly for the 890L? My data usage is usually 4GB a month, but can jump up to 8GB if I download updates for the iMac and iPhone 5.

The VZW Jetpacks are generally not a good option for in home/always on internet connections.  Jetpacks are travel devices that are intended to be powered on, used for a while and shutdown until they are needed again.  Folks who attempt to treat Jetpacks like a normal home router are frequently disappointed in their performance.
There are better options out there if you are looking for something inside your home.  For example the VZW 4G Router, HomeFusion or even a USB modem and CradlePoint/Pepwave router.  Any of these devices are better equipped to handle a home connection environment and will generally perform better in that scenario than any Jetpack.
All that said, the largest obstacle you face with your decision is the VZW data capped plans.  It is so very easy to go over your data limit once you start mixing up your environment and relying solely on the VZW device.  Most people have no idea how much data they actually consume until they get onto a metered data plan.  It can be done, but do some research and be prepared as to how your data habits really look on a bill.
Considering you already have a 890L then a good experiment would be to try to use it for only a month and see if you can get by.  Power down the dish internet and see how everything looks over the 890L.  That way if you get into trouble you don't have to worry about cancelling accounts and can back out safely without termination fees.
