Using auto exposure give the same settings for every picture
for some reason, aperture 3.0 has been giving me the same settings when using the auto exposure on raw files. i swear it wasn't that way when i first started using the program. regardless of the image, it always sets an exposure of 1.0 and a recovery of 0.0.
GLITCHY GIMMICKS Just imported 2 raw & 2 Jpegs, Adj WB & Exp. on a raw. Then went to Library & turned on Quick Preview, went back to Adjustments and could still carry out adjustments. Went to another image and it still allows adjustments but the adjustments are being applied to the previous image. Typical Aperture Glitches. I'm usingiPhoto 9.2.1. Recently, everytime I open an album, I get a "face (the same one)" covering every picture. If I click on the picture, I can see the real picture. How do I get rid of this "face" that covers all?
Make a temporary backup of your library (if you don't already have a backup of it) and launch iPhoto with the Command +Option key held down and rebuild the library with options #1, 2, 3 and 6 selected.

Have Mac OS 10.7.4 installed on an iMac-3.1 GHz Intel Core i5...the Finder will not find files on Windows mounted volumes...what setting should we be using...tried the same/working settings as our iMac 10.6.8...did not work for 10.7.4!

How to use multiple languages at the same time for spell checking?
I use two different languages all the time and words are mostly so different (English and Finnish) that I could have spell checking on for both languages at the same time.
Now it seem to allow to select only one language at the time and I have to switch back and fort zillion of times per day.Thanks for the quick answer.
The Dictionary Switcher doesn't seem to work with Finnish language, it doesn't detect it at all to be one of the choices although in the Firefox context menu Languages -> Finnish/Finland is shown.
Also, if it would work, I would need to get rid of multiple EN_* langauges. I just need EN_UK or EN_US, not all 22 different EN_*.
One option would be to create a custom dictionary, which would have words from both languages. The next task is then to find out how to make this kind of custom ENFI-dictionary, which would have words from both English and Finnish languages.
Finnish may be a some kind of special case for spell checking anyway, because the support is in its separate plugin:

Secondary browser windows open at the same time do not have the same functions active. i.e. Back/Forward, Reload, Stop buttons and the url address does not show in the bar. I set the HOME page in the Options and it does not open with that Home Page. This never happened with any past FireFox versions.
Yes, it works OK. I disabled all add-ons & clicked Make Changes & Restatr I can open additional browser windows that retain the settings of the first window opened. I Disabled All Add-ons and Make Changes & Restart. How do I retain this?

When I record midi there are three layers of the same note for every note?

Using Logic Pro 9. Mac OS X 10.6.8
This is a problem that strangely goes away and comes back every so often so I want to be able to fix it permanently.
My midi notes on the piano roll are being duplicated and sometimes tripled. I have to go through every note and delete the layers of notes to just get the one original layer.
Can anyone suggest a fix?

Maxok, just want to correct. it appears that moving the region 4 beats to the right corrects the issue but only if I start playback from the beginning, If I drag the cursor to the start of the region then it must wait 4 beats till sound starts coming out of the speakers. I also tried unchecking the 24 bit option in advanced preferences but that did not help either. so it appears it is simply some kind of playback lag bug of some sort. hoping it gets sorted since this makes it kind of aggravating to work with. I tried opening the older 6.0.5 Garageband and it does not have this issue but for some reason I cannot create a new guitar track, i have to create a software instrument track then change it to a guitar track. Also all my guitar amps are missing so it appears the older version is being slowly crippled with each new version of OS X.

When my Ipod touch is in autolock I can only restart the device holding the sleep/wake button and home button at the same time for 10 seconds. While in auto-lock it is using battery power and will do so until the battery is drained. Whats wrong?
- Try a reset. Nothing is lost:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Connect the iPod to your computer and try to restore via iTunes. Try placing in Recovery mode if necessary to restore.
- If you can't turn the iPod completely off, let the batter fully drain. After charging for at lerast anhour try again
- If still not successful time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. -
Two very different results using the same settings (H.264 / Quicktime Pro)
I’m a bit confused, I have used Quicktime Pro (v7.1) to encode DV into H.264 for iPod and this particular video is 18 minutes long and came out looking very good with the following settings;
VIDEO: H.264 at 200kbps, Baseline Profile, 25fps, Auto Key Frames, 320x240 or 640x480, Multipass Best quality encoding.
AUDIO: AAC Audio at 96kbps, 24kHz sampling freq, Stereo.
However here is the twist…
When I use the same exact settings to encode just the 30 second opener (from the 18 minute video) the encoded opener looks bad and blocky!
Why? Same settings would make you assume that you should get a same or similar result, or am I wrong?
The reason I have tried encoding this 30 second opener is that I am trying to work out which settings work best on the iPod (another issue) and I don’t want to spend hours test encoding the full 18 minute video, as you know H.264 is SLOW to encode!
So can anyone help in regard to two very different results using the same settings?

Is it a commercially-released or home-burned CD?
If it's commercially-released, try "encouraging" the recalcitrant computer by using the iTunes Advanced menu > Get CD Track Names command when it shows Audio CD.
If it's home-burned, you will find that only the computer that actually burned the disc will know what's on it. The information won't be transferred to another computer.
Let us know which, if either, of these situations applies to you. -
I have a iPad and iPhone with the same Apple ID, but on Game Center I have used the same id for both devices and they are two different profiles and I was wondering how to have one of the accounts on both devices.

If you are using the same Apple ID on both devices, the Game Center profile should be the same.
Check out this information from the iPad User Guide. Try signing out of the Game Center on both devices and then sign back in with the correct Apple ID:

So, today my sister gave birth (Hurrah!) and she has an iPad 2 that i got her for christmas.
Long story short, my mom is in the same hospital as my sister in the emergency room since she had a heart attack/nervous attack and had to be there for testing. -- Thing is, i want her to Facetime me with an alternate email from my iCloud so she's able to see her grandson while i'm with her.

(Hybrid implying the use of iMessage/Facetime with an alternate email and not my cell number or primary account email.)So once that's done, that'll be it?

Most likely the user km_admin still has system principal roles assigned, even though you removed the Super Admin role, you should check that this user doesn't have any other admin roles, otherwise it will be considered a System Principal user and will therefore still have access to all content. Try creating a new user with just read access to the content and you should see that it will not be able to make any changes etc.

I suspect that every time program generates different set of key, therefore we need to store the generated key during encryption part (i believe it is to be in the keystore) and to use the same for decryption part. Could you please give me a tips how to do this?

How do use the same crop for multiple images.
I have a number of images that I want to use the same crop on. Instead of go through the whole slow process for each image is there a way to use the same crop for all of the images?
And in iPhoto there was a way to copy the adjustment settings to multiple images, I can't see how to do that in aperture.Use the "Lift&Stamp" tool:
Crop one image.
Lift the crop using the "Lift" tool.
Select the other images.
Stamp the crop adjustment to all of them.
But caution: By default "Lift" will copy all Metadata tags and all adjustments, but the gps data. If you only want to transfer the cropping rectangle, deselect all lifted items but the crop adjustment before stamping.

i cant use facetime. but my sister can. we share the same account for itunes.but when i go to facetime on my ipod touch and click on create a new account a blank screen pops up and the only thing it says is cancel and account. what do i do?

Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:

from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Quit and relaunch Mail, and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
