Using 'crossover' on mac to play PC games?
Hi all,
I would really like to play LOTR:battle for middle earth II on my mac. The problem is, its a pc game. I know there are a few applications that will allow me to use windows on my mac but I am worried about how this works.
1) If I install windows on my mac, is it guaranteed that I will be able to play my LOTR game?
2) Does having windows on my macbook pro mean its more prone to viruses?
Are there any disadvantages of having windows that I did not think of??
Thanks in advance
I have a macbook pro. 10.4.11
There are three ways to use Windows applications on a Mac (Intel only).
1) Crossover. Provides an interface between the Windows application and OSX. Does not require a Windows installation, but only works with a limited number of Windows applications. Since Windows is not there, a Windows virus won't run.
2) Parallels or Vmware. Provides an interface between a Windows installation and OSX. Will run most, but not all, Windows applications, and maybe some viruses.
3) Bootcamp. Boots a full Windows installation. Will run all Windows applications and viruses.

Can i use dualshock 4 on pstv playing ps4 games
I dont have a vita nor will i ever own one. But i want to play ps4 games on another tv with the dualshock 4 if possible. Is it. Me and my roommate have 3 tvs and 1 ps4. Im willing to buy a pstv if remote play for the ps4 games will work with the dualshock4 and no vita. Or is pstv and remote play just for the psvita.
Information on pstv can and cants is not really available. Info out there is lacking.
Thanks in advance
JoshYes DS4 works on the PS TV for remote play as well as PS Vita games and PSOne games if you do happen to buy some. Also a word of advice if you plan on using remote play. If possible have your PS4 and PS TV connected to the router via cable. Do not use wifi as you will have a bad experiance. If you can't go wired then buy a pair of homeplugs. http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-PA411KIT-Powerline-Adapter-Starter/dp/B0084Y9N3O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1438824143&sr=8-1&keywords=homeplugs

I purchased an IPhone 4 yesterday and I have already used 73.81 mb of my 200 mb. I have only read my emails and downloaded one game from App Store. Does it use MB everytime I play the game? does it use mb the whole time I am on my emails. What uses MB?
Playing a game probably won't use much, if any... Downloading all those cool games and apps could have easily used that up, however.
Use WiFi whenever you can or download apps to your computer, then sync them to the phone with the cable. -

Sounds as though that may be a Windows or other version. -
Can i use a superdrive to play computer game discs? (Running Windows?)
Can I use my USB Superdrive to play computer games on a macbook air running windows?
Of course. Just connect the Apple USB SuperDrive to your Mac and insert the DVD with the game. You may need to install it first.
You may need to install the Windows support software, too. Look for your MacBook Air model and your Windows version, and install the correct Windows support software > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US -
How To Get Newest Adobe Flash Player So You Can Play Pc Game
How Do I Get The Newest Flash Player on my IBbook G4 To PLay Woozworld If The Newest Flash Player isn't Compatible With my mac Ibook G4...Please Some one help
The iBook G4 800 Mhz model is limited to Mac OS X 10.4.11.
The iBook G4 1 Ghz and higher models can run up to Mac OS X 10.5.8.
Adobe Flash for PowerPC can be upgraded based on this thread:
Flash 11.5 hack for PowerPC
On both operating systems. However, if the game is developed for a newer version of Flash, or uses ActiveX and requires more than Windows 2000, you can't use it on an iBook G4. Please note, games in general from the PC world that require any special animation or audio file formats generally are not playable on PowerPC Macs, unless they were ported to them. You may seriously want to consider getting a used or refurbished Intel Mac, if playing Windows games is important to you*:
http://www.macmaps.com/usedrefurbished.html
Upgrading to either from Mac OS X 10.1.x (based on your signature), is not easy, and requires an Archive and Install minimum as described here:
kmosx: Installation options and their meaning
Upgrading to Intel Macs entails this process:

So I just got this, was told good for playing games,I use my fb lot n play the games there. So I have not figured out how to ply my games, says does not support adobe flash....can someone plz help?????? Ty

I'm not ranting at you, but doesn't anyone research what they buy before they buy something anymore.
1. iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch does not support flash. In fact Adobe has stopped any further development of Flash on any mobile platform (including Android)
3. Download the Facebook for iPad app in the App Store. It is fully optimized for iPad
3. To run flash content on your iPad, purchase an app for about $9 in the App Store. Photon and iSwifter are two which work with some success.
4. Use the search bar and read up on this. Simply type Flash in the search bar and you'll see thousands of posts on this subject.
I honestly believe that the vast majority of individuals like the OP probably never even heard of Flash until they got the dreaded message that they need it. -

Hi. I just downloaded "angry birds" from the iTunes store. It says it was successfully downloaded and that I can use it on the two mac products I have. I can see an icon for it in the finder on the mac, but I can't figure out how to play the game. Anyone?
Thank you for your reply. After a lot of fruitless searches, I hit on a page that offered the same wisdom you did. I feel like rather a fool for not knowing that. Grr. I really appreciate your answer, and that you didn't end it with "dummy." Cheers to you. Hope someone does something kind for you today.

What do you think are the best ways to play pc games on a mac. Obviously Bootcamp, is the best on most macs. but I have a mabr and wont to play some pc games off the disk's. any what do ypu think are the best ways apart drom bootcamp. Thanks
Try using CrossOver Games or WineBottler. Running Windows in an emulator reduces its performance.

Virtual pc on mac: will it play pc games with virtual pc
i was just wondering if i got virtual pc, if that would allow me to take advantage of playing pc games this way. Just wondering thanks for anyone who answers this.
Well first you should check with some folks if the darn thing is still running somewhat decently. Apple has made some OS updates and announcements that will pretty much render the future of VPC obsolete, or at the time being halt all needs for futher updates. Microsoft is strugging with Vista as it is, so I don't even know if MS made a update to VPC to run on dual core processors, I don't beleive they have.
Apple's "Boot Camp" and then there is Parallels Workstation to run other OS's at the same time as Mac OS X on Mac's with Intel processors. Without the need for VPC.
Far as I know, VPC (on PPC G5 machines) uses only one processor even if there are more. So whatever you can run will have to run well with VPC running on the same processor. Second, video card performance is not going to be great, so perhaps some simple 2D games, but nothing 3D dependent like Halo2 or Half Life.
If you want to run 3D PC games on a Mac you can get by with a MacBook Pro by booting into Windows under "Boot Camp" but of course for real performance you'll have to wait for the Mac Pro (Intel processor based "PowerMacs") to make a appearance as with this machine the video card is upgradable.
We don't know quite when that will be, but that would be the machine to get if your interested. If your happy with PPC G5 games then the Quad is your baby although not a 3D gamers weapon of choice because Mac's don't have near as many titles as PC's, although we do have a lot.
