Using droid bionic in Mexico

Can droid bionic be used offline in Mexico to access stored app such as translator in Mexico?

Yes, as long as the app itsself does not require a data connection.  Your best option would be to put your phone into airplane mode, turning off all cellular radios, and making sure you do not get any roaming charges.  While in airplane mode, WiFi can still be turned on and off if you wish to connect that way.  This will not use any of your data allowance.

  • Will Droid 2 SIM card work in a droid Bionic?

I have an old Droid 2 phone and I want to purchase a used Droid Bionic that does not have a SIM card. What would I need to do to make it work? Can I put the SIM card from my Droid 2 in the Bionic? Also, can I use the bionic with prepaid if I decide not to renew my contract?

I saw a very detailed tech report on that awhile ago.  Verizon is being very clever in that they are using some of the features of the dual-mode R-UIM-like features of the nano-SIM (C-SIM ?) slot for personal account information and LTE data provisioning.  But the Verizon CDMA network connection data is still stored in firmware and the integrated whole (in terms of connectivity to Verizon's own network) gets pretty complicated.
(and the older I get, the less interested I seem to be to follow the details and understand the technology - does one grow out of geekness over time?)
Regardless, from the OPs point of view, he'd need an iPhone with CDMA capability, regardless of how the voice and data network provisioning and account info is split between firmware and SIM.  A A1429 GSM-only iPhone is just that, GSM-only, no CDMA.

  • Droid Bionic text messages going to wrong people

I have had my Droid Bionic for several months now. It is not rooted and I don't download tons of apps on my phone. I don't use netflix to watch movies or download music. The apps I have are mainly to help me with work. So I'm not app happy just downloading things non stop. This is why I'm confused and irritated. My Bionic has started sending text messages to the wrong people! I had this issue with my Droid X which is why I switched to the Bionic, hoping that after all these years of making smart phones motorola, google and verizon would put a phone out there that actually works like it's supposed to. How much practice do these phone companies need to get their OS right? I don't mind paying a lot of money for something that will make my life a little easier but I get very irritated paying a lot of money for something that doesn't work the way it's supposed to...and at the most inappropriate times. The Bionic has gone from helping to adding to my daily hassles. Is anyone else having issues with text messages going to the wrong people on their Bionics? Have you found a way to fix it? I'm also getting error messages that just started about a week ago...com.motorola.main.service has stopped and then a option to forceclose. The tech support person at Verizon sounded like he had never seen a smart phone before and gave me the Verizon standard technical reply..."do a factory reset". I should not have to reset anything on a NEW Phone! Why don't you fix these problems Google, Motorola and Verizon and in a timely manner?! I know for a fact if I didn't pay for my phone as promised or pay my bill as promised I would suffer the consequences immediately! You cell phone companies are all about getting your money and leaving us customers out here hanging and irritated. If you think my feelings are misguided then feel free to prove me wrong. FIX THESE ISSUES AND FIX THEM IN A TIMELY MANNER! BETTER YET, PUT OUT A PRODUCT THAT WORKS AS PROMISED IN YOUR ADS! TRAIN YOUR TECHS TO ACTUALLY RESOLVE ISSUES INSTEAD OF RECITING THEIR FAVORITE MOTO "Do a factory reset"! When you do these 3 things I will not feel like someone who has been lied to, robbed, and irritated! I am usually a very positive person but after dealing with issues with 2 expensive phones I'm a little upset. Can anyone help me fix my phone?

Go into your settings, Messages and turn on iMessage. It will then send messages that are iMessages to both your iPad and iPhone. You can also turn off this feature on the iPad if you do not want to receive messages on the iPad.

  • I have a Droid Bionice, my 1st Smart phone. An install kept coming up ,I did it and everything has changed. I don't knpw what to do...Help...smart phone...dumb person

I bought a Droid Bionic Smart Phone. I loved it so very much. When I was on it and install kept coming up, over & over. I Don't know what it was called but I did look and it didn't say Verizon anywhere but I assumed w/my Lookout security app it wouldn't let anything bad in. But I downloaded it now my icons are different and on my manage apps I use to have only maybe 20 settings now I have a bunch. and the lil icon looks like a blue square app w/the lil cog looking symbol in it. Everytime I try to delete one thinking it will go back to the way it was it says it will cause problems w/all other settings. And also after the icom it says com.motorola.android.deep it says that on about 20 or 25 after the icon.It won't let me disable  any of them.
The very 1st icon on my Apps on ,y Apps setting is the blue symbol that looks like a cog, and it has 32.00KB if I try to disable that because I figure it's the mother of all of them it says in a pop up...Disable built -in app-----If you disable a built in app, other apps may misbehave.? That doesn't sound very professional to me.One even says key chain for the app. I don't know what to do. I did look at it and I assumed when it popped up it was a legit thing. I didnt know you had to beware of something that was a pop up on the page.
I don't know if it's a Gingerbread or Ice Cream thing, I just know when I go to my settings it has overtaken 3/4th of my apps. And on most of them it doesny even offer me the chance or choice to disable it. Please somebody help me. I am so new to this. I loved my phone before now it's taken Over everything. I am scared if I run some of the things I see it says on my settings app it runs my phone,it says for instance:
    Permission
This App can access the following on your phone
    *YOUR LOCATION
    coarse (network-based) location,fine (GPS) location
    *SYSTEM TOOLS
    modify global system settings
    STORAGE
    SYNC SERVICE
I dont know what any of this is and it says if I stop of close any of it , it will cause the app to fail.
How can I tell what I have downloaded as far as this whole montrosity....SO I can study it and read up what to do. I do't want to lodr my pictures or my pictures on my gallery/ I am afraid I have really screwed it up good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I THANK ANYBODY THAT CAN HELP ME IN ADVANCE....

  • How can I add multiple contacts to a text message on a droid bionic

How can I add multiple contacts to a text message on a droid bionic?

    DH
I was thinking that if he wanted to create multiple keyframes he might be creating a repeated effect rather than manipulating values that are shot specific - like creating an oscillation or some repeated step effect.  If he was creating keyframes specific to his content he'd probably not look for a way to do it "quickly" since each keyframe would require manipulation of specific values.
So my thought was to generate the series of keyframes on a dummy clip created for this specific purpose, copy the clip, paste attributes (maybe turn off "Scale Attribute Times") and add bunches of keyframes at once.
Still, you're right, it's tough to divine the intent of someone very new to FCP.  His question could be based on a misunderstanding about the use of keyframes.

  • Droid Bionic 4.04 update.  SMS no longer works and other issues

Performed the 4.04 update yesterday (Made my phone at a ridiculously hot temperature and drained my battery from 90% to 5% within 1:30 , great thing to start downloading without a prompt).  Ever since the update my text messages will not load at all.  I have tried with the default application as well as Handscent SMS.  The default text messaging application will just continue to show that it is "loading" and with an apple style while circle, while handscent will just have a black screen then crash after awhile.  If I receive an incoming text message it does not show at all.  (Handscent will normally create a popup message).
Also when I turn the screen on from being asleep, sometimes the touch screen will not work, I will either need to wait a few minutes to turn the screen off then on  again or restart the phone entirely.
Anyone know a work around where I would not have to reinstall the OS again?
Please let me know if you guys need any more information.

Give this a try Guys it should help some b33
Here is How you Clear the system Cache on the Bionic : Do as Follows
Step 1: power your bionic down
Step 2: hold volume up, down, and power simultaneously
Step 3: use the volume down to navigate to "recovery," use volume up to select
Step 4: you will get a screen with a triangle with an exclamation point, next to an Android. Press volume up and down simultaneously
Step 5: use the volume rocker to navigate to "wipe cache" and use the power button to select.
Step 6: after it has finished, use the volume rocker to navigate to "reboot system now" and use the power button to select.

Here's How to perform a Soft Reset For your Bionic :  b33
Soft Reset - DROID BIONIC by Motorola
A soft reset is the most useful tool for resolving a variety of issues. In most cases, a soft reset will not affect data on the device, unless the battery is very low.
If the device doesn't respond to input, remove then re-insert the battery.
Press and hold the Power button.
    Select Power off.
Press and hold the Power button to power the device on.

  • Using the Bionic in Japan?

If this was asked before, I apologize for double-posting...
I'm actually going to be working in Japan in about 2 months, so I just wanted to know how I can get my Bionic to work over there.
    Anyone know?

    dmad1rulz,
I sure how you enjoy your time in Japan. Luckily, you can enjoy your visit with the DROID BIONIC! Japan uses the same CDMA technology that we use so you'll have access to voice and data services. 4G/LTE is not in Japan so speeds will be comparable to our 3G network. Please take note of our Global tech support number: 908-559-4899, better safe than sorry, you know. You can also see all of the coverage and pricing details online here.
    Have a safe trip!

  • Using My Bionic in Japan

I've been stationed here in Japan for over a year now and I upgraded my phone a few months ago when I went on vacation. Now I have my Droid Bionic just sitting around not being utilized. I want to use it as my phone here but I'm being told that it needs to be unlocked. Not sure what I need to do to unlock it. Can anyone help me out with this?

  • Droid Bionic will not turn on (Searched the internet for answers, nothing)

Currently, my Droid Bionic will not charge/power on. If I plug I connect it to the wall charger, nothing. If I plug it to my computer, nothing. If I bypass the USB port and use a stripped USB cable directly to the battery while it's in the phone, it turns on, but doesn't charge (Let it sit for hours turned off, then pull the cable, and no power). I've done these methods with numerous cables to include the OEM cable/charger and other branded cables/chargers and I get nothing. I can get the white light to come on with any cable and charger if I have the USB cable in slightly, but it doesn't charge or turn on when left for hours. I've tried with numerous batteries both from friends and new, same story....nothing. The only thing to get the phone on is by bypassing the usb port on the phone and directly wiring the usb cable to the battery while in the phone.
    Oh and......
For a loooooooong time now, I have been researching the internet searching for answers to my issue....and nothing has worked. The phone is relatively new. bought it in May 2012 and have been experiencing this problem since June 2012. It's December 2012 now, so yea...a long time.

I am having the same issue since last night (although i have not yet tried stripping a USB cable and connecting directly to the battery while in the phone) where the phone will not boot at all with any combination of SIM card, SD card, USB charger/computer, etc.
I did come across one solution online though that you might try. One person said they had the same issue, however it was a bad SD card that was shorting out his battery and instantly draining it (he tried multiple fully charged brand new batteries with same issue).
I would suggest removing the SD card to see if thats the problem. If not then i'd be interested to see if you do find a solution. Mine was buggy ever since the last update and finally died completely last night. I'll be going in for a replacement today.
    Hope this helps

  • Avoid the Droid Bionic and if you are a potential customer, avoid Verizon

Back on November 16th, just 15 days ago, I purchased the Droid Bionic phone.  Twice in the past two days the screen has stopped working, but I know the phone is still on because I can hear the notification alerts as well as see the blinking lights for a text message and such and can hear the phone ring when I have had a call.  I have had to pop out the battery and reinsert it to get the phone working.
One would think that a phone bought brand new that is already experiencing problems and that someone paid a lot of money for would be replaced.  Well, not with Verizon.  I talked to someone at the Verizon store where I purchased it and was told that they would not replace it but would only go through warranty services in which I would recieve what Verizon likes to call a "certified 'like' new" phone.  Now, to anyone with common sense, this is what normal people call a used phone.  But telling the manager that it is wrong to replace a brand new phone with a used one completely confused her and made her argue that it wasn't used.
I recently went through the hassle of one of these used, oh excuse me "certified 'like' new" phones.  About a month before my phone contract expired, my previous phone, the LG enV Touch went bad.  Now I am someone who prides myself on taking care of my electronic equipment.  The person at the Verizon store who helped me with the warranty process on it was impressed how my enV Touch looked new even after 2 years.  The replacement "certified 'like' new" phone I recieved had a scratched screen, gunk around the 2 bottom buttons on the front, and a filthy keyboard.  It hadn't even been cleaned and took me quite a while to clean the gunk from the buttons.  I said nothing, which was a mistake on my part, because I knew I would be getting a new phone in about a months time.
It is just absolutely ridiculous, and bad customer service, that after just 15 days someone who spends a fairly sizable sum of money would have to exchange out a new phone with a used phone.  I have a family share plan with Verizon with 2 lines coming up for renewal in a couple of weeks.  Verizon will not continue my business on those lines and I am sure that one of the other companies will be glad to get it.
And to Verizon, perhaps you should rethink how you treat customers.  I have been with Verizon ever since they moved to Huntsville when they bought out GTE Wireless.  I can understand a 14 day exchange policy being strictly enforced when there is no issue with a product, but when a product shows to be defective on the 15th day, it's rather very poor customer relation to tell them they have to take a used product a half a month after buying something new when it is no fault of the customer.
I hope this helps anyone who may be considering the Droid Bionic and Verizon.

That's always been standard practice for Verizon. Six years ago, my LG Chocolate went - like new replacement. Then my EnV3 - like new. It's the manufacturer who should be more responsible. I was really hoping I wouldn't have the same issues my with my new Bionic!  Good luck. Hey, if you have a problem, I would go to a Verizon owned store and check out your replacement before you accept it. Gunk is gross.

  • Droid bionic freezes pc when unplugging

OK i just got  the new droid bionic. i used my PC to put my ringtones on it and when i disconnected it my PC froze so i had to force it to shut down. this has happened every time i unplug it from my PC. i have restarted my PC, updated the drivers , and changed the USB settings on the phone. I have searched  many forums and none have mentioned this problem.please if someone can shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated

Are you just unplugging it or are you clicking on the usb symbol and removing the usb the safe way. If you are just unplugging it, this may be your problem. There is a right way and a wrong way to disconnect any usb from your computer. Check your particular computer for the correct way.

  • Jelly Bean and the Droid Bionic

Does anyone know if the problem with Jelly Bean for the Droid Bionic was fixed?
Also, is the Droid Bionic worth it? I can find it on Ebay or Amazon for around $70. I managed to kill my Razr and have no upgrade until May 2014 . Hoping the Droid Bionic is a nice cheap substitute, because the HTC Incredible smartphone I'm currently using is on it's last legs.

Yes, I know a lot of people have posted about issues with Bionics.  There were people complaining about the Bionic before it was released, after it was released, and after the ICS update as well.  You should have seen the folks that wanted to go back to Gingerbread after the ICS update because the new update "messed up their phone".
I'm not saying that folks aren't having problems, but it's not just the Bionic and it's not just Jelly Bean.  I'd say that you'll see more comments about issues because most people that aren't having issues rarely post that they aren't having issues.
Some of the issues can be corrected or at least reduced by doing a system cache clear or a factory reset.  In fact, if you do decide to buy that Bionic, that would be my suggestion ... once you get it, do a factory reset before you do anything else, even if the seller has already done one.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

  • Droid Bionic- Unable to find my bluetooth

I just purchased a Droid Bionic and it has not been able to locate my bluetooth.  I thought that the phone should do this automatically.  Is there anything that I can do from the phone that I can just manually add my bluetooth device??

  • Stories about early upgrades for the Droid Bionic.

    Hello,
I have been searching for stories about the Bionic for a while, and I have seen a couple pop up that say Verizon is offering early upgrades to *SOME* customers.
    http://www.gizmocrunch.com/mobile/8185--verizon-iphone-5-htc-vigor-nexus-prime-motorola-droid-bionic
I have been a customer of Verizon for a little less than two years. I am still using the OG Droid, and it is starting to bogg down quite a bit and freeze/crash randomly, so getting a new phone is one of the top things on my list.  My upgrade discount is up on 10/25/11, but seeing that the Droid Bionic is going to come out Sept 8th (little more than a week), and seeing that Verizon is offering early upgrades to certain people, I was wondering who exactly GETS these early discounts. Reading the articles apparantly Verizon sent emails out to some people, but I haven't gotten anything about it.
So are these articles correct? If so, who exactly CAN get the discount? And will I be able to get the phone when it comes out?

This promotion, although recently released, doesn't necessarily pertain to the Droid Bionic alone. Verizon sent out thousands of e-mails to customers that have never owned a smart phone before and fit various other criteria. The promotion allows you to upgrade from a basic phone to a smart phone early if you wish to do so. The promotion also entitles the customer to a $100 rebate in the form of a Visa gift card if they mail in their old basic phone as well. Hope this helps.

  • Droid Bionic won't add yahoo account

My yahoo email account mysteriously stopped syncing to my Droid Bionic after my son downloaded a game.
I deleted the yahoo account and tried to re-add it but it won't add.....suggestions?

My yahoo mail (using the Bionic acct set up) had been working fine until...  had to change my password (account got hacked).  Once I did that, I couldn't make it work no matter what.  Deleted account and tried to add new acct.  Tried manually adding account.  Finally gave up with that and downloaded the yahoo mail app from the app store and that worked flawlessly.  Only issue is that I had to add yet another shortcut to my desktop to be able to quickly access yahoo mail.  So what is wrong with the bionic account set up??
