Using iOS5 on multiple devices

hi Forum
Is there a view on how to use iOS5 on multiple devices when multiple devices are owned by differing family members? i have an iPhone, my partner has an iPhone, and together we have an iPad. [i have a MBP as well but havent updated to Lion yet, dont knwo if this is part of this question]. iOS5 can sync to multiple devices so can we sync all apps and musc between the mobile devices? do they have to be on the same apple user ID? of have i got that wrong?
also contacts and photos wise, we both have our own photos, contacts, calendar and mail. can any/all of these be syncd between us all? i guess the one that would be syncd would be photos as youd want to see that on the ipad.

The iTunes account and iCloud accounts are not linked on your devices.
So you can each have an iCloud account that works on your iDevices nd all be logged into the same iTunes account in the iTunes Store, App Store, IBooks, etc.
You do really need your iMac to be on 10.7.2 as it was a requirement before you moved to iCloud, did you lie when asked the question "are all your devices ready for iCloud".

a single iTunes can be authorized for up to five iTunes store accounts (Apple IDs). a library thusly set up will sync content purchased with any of the five Apple IDs to any device.

Apps purchased from the Mac App Store will only run on the Mac OS X.

I pay the monthy fee acrobat and want to use this software on my desktop and iphone, not just my laptop. Ive tried downloading on my desktop and have been unsuccessful. Can you use on multiple devices when paying for this service?

Since you're talking about downloading software, I'm assuming that you're referring to an Acrobat subscription. The license agreement lets you install that on up to two different computers. What happens when you try to download the installer on your desktop computer? Do you get an error message?

Using Passbook on multiple devices with one Apple ID?

My wife and I each have an iPhone 4S, and we each have an iPod Touch. We use a single Apple ID on all devices (mine). I'm the only one that's really even using Passbook, but Passbook alerts are popping up on all four devices. When I use my Starbucks card, all 4 devices receive the alert. When I use my AMEX, all four devices are alerted. I want to either disable Passbook on three of the four devices, or figure out how to tie Passbook on those devices to a secondary Apple ID.

If you want to share an apple id, but not passbook, you can turn off syncing on her device under settings > iCloud > passbook.

Using icloud mail - multiple devices

Hi there.
I'm using an iPad, Macbook Air and iPhone, all linked to the same icloud account.
All works perfectly except for one thing, when I delete mail on either the iPad/iPhone, they aren't deleted from the Mail program on the Macbook but are deleted on the other device. When a message is deleted from the Macbook, it is deleted from both iPad/iPhone.
A little niggle yes, but an annoying one!
Any help would be appreciated.

If your daughter is using the same iCloud account as you, she can enable calendar, mail and contact syncing at anytime and not only see your data, but delete it or modify it too.
iTunes and iCloud are different accounts, you could have separate iCloud accounts but share a iTunes account, which is the account used for apps, music and other purchases.

Using apps for multiple devices

Hi,
I'm not sure if I should ask this here but this is my basic problem. I have an iPod touch and I want to sell it and get an iPhone. I have bought a lot of apps from iTunes and I would like to be able to use them on the iPhone once I get it. Can I do that? Do I have to restore the iPod to factory settings first so that I delete all the apps from it first?
If anyone knows, I would appreciate the help. Thanks,

Not sure if I'm reading your question right, but I think it's two questions:
1) how can you keep what you have? answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
2) how do you wipe out the info from the device you want to sell. factory settings, but not til AFTER step 1.

Using Skype on multiple devices

I have the same Skype address I use on several devices including an Android phone. The problem I have is that Skype seems to prefer to ring the phone first and I would rather it ring the laptop first. Is there any way to prioritise which device Skype contacts first?

Thanks. This is what I suspected, but needed confirmation.
An extension to this question, then, is do all devices (desktop, laptop, mobile phone) all ring simultaneously when a call is received?
I suspect that it does and I can answer on any of the devices, but I want to be sure.
I am really new to this, but in light of near future travel plans, Skype will solve numerous communications issues on several levels.

Hi, I get mail from two gmail accounts on three devices: iPad, iPhone, desktop. Is there a way to set it up so that when I delete mail from one device it deletes it from all three? I am going nuts with so many messages. Thanks for your help.

Use IMAP mail protocol. Not POP.
IMAP keeps the email on the server, and the mail client just reads it from the server.
POP (especially gmail's POP) downloads the mail to your device, and gmail's POP keeps a copy as well, so that all your devices can download the mail, hence your need to delete from each device because each device has downloaded a copy.

I use my skype account from many different devices as I travel. Can I "force" an update to make sure I've received updates or reflect sends from other devices (esp. IM & SMS) to the device I'm on at the moment? I'm kinda tired of my iPhone grabbing updates and they take forever or never get to my iPad or PC when I switch to it. Sometimes it happens right away, sometimes the delay or it not happening at all is a major aggravation.

I am having the same problem, Skype is not updating IM or contact information between my home computer and my Iphone. Even one contact that was added has a photo and yet on my computer and iphone the photo doesn't show.
Then I also realized that there were a whole bunch of messages that didn't come through, so missed out on replying to those!
Skype is failing big time!

iWeb is an application you can use to create webpages with.
Formerly it was part of iLife. But it is discontinued.
It doesn't work with airplay.
And since this forum is about iWeb, chances are very slim you will get an answer in this forum.
Why not ask in the Apple TV, iPod touch or iPad forums?

We have an iPhone 4S and 2 iPod touches that all share the same Apple ID (I am attempting to monitor/control my daughter's apps/content). I want to take advantage of using iCloud to share my photos/contacts/calendar, etc.. with our MacBook Pro, but I don't want everything to go on my daughter's iTouches that are also linked to iCloud. Is that possible?
