Using iPhone wireless with MacBook
Is there a way to connect my iPhone to my MacBook and use the phone's wireless 3G connection when not in a wifi area?
This is called tethering and is not currently supported.
AT&T has indicated they may support tethering with the iPhone sometime this year and if so, probably sometime after firmware update 3.0 is released this summer. And if so, it probably won't be included with the unlimited data plan for the iPhone. For phones that support tethering, AT&T charges an additional monthly fee for the option.

A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

Then:
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? See other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

i have just used air display with macbook pro. i have disconnected now from apple tv. but my laptop screen is still very small like its connected to the tv. this means all the tabs and writing is very small. like the display down the bottom where al the applications are, is n the middle of the page and not spread down the bottom. this is seriously annoying! all the writing is every small and the tabs are small and its hard to read. the air display link has disappeared from my computer. but the laptop screen is still very small. i want to know how do i get rid of this and return my macbook screen to its normal size. thank you

If your content is still being displayed incorrectly, I would check the resolution setting for the built in display with this article:

If it keeps happening whenever you use AirPlay then I would use this section of the following article to reset the display system:

You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
Restart your computer.

Yes u can. I upgrades my wife's phone and I use the new iphone 5 with my number. Take it your carrier and get a different SIM card. Bring your ID and u must be the primary account user.

PLease suggest me some solution for this problemThere is no approved method to downgrade. Your attempt to load a non-standard iOS file is causing the error. If you want to use your phone, you are going to have to try and restore it to the latest iOS compatable for that device which is iOS 7.0.4, otherwise it will not work and you will continue to see the error. Apple is no longer signing anything below the current iOS, so it will never activate.

What you are describing is what I see when I tap on "Details" in my message app - it shows just the name with the phone and FaceTime icon along with an "i" -

Then as you've tried resetting the phone, the next step is to restore it from the latest backup. If that doesn't work, restore it as new, and if that doesn't work take it to Apple.

Is there an adapter that lets you use iPhone earbuds with an iMac?I got the splitter, (see link below), but the mic does not seem to work. Apparently, there's a difference between a mic port and a line-in port. Mic ports are powered by the computer, line-in ports are not. They expect a powered signal to come from the input device. The iMac has a line-in port.
I downloaded an app called Line-in that is supposed to give back the ability to use unpowered mics with Macs that lost the abiliy after a system update. It did not work for me. I guess my iMac never had the ability to use unpowered mics.
So I ordered the USB Stereo Audio Adapter below. It's basically a sound card that plugs into a USB port and will work with an unpowered mic. It has not arrived yet. I'll let you know how it goes.
