Using iview "window features" to maximize window

Hi people,
I need to setup an iview to open in a new window,
(property Launch in New Window= Display in Separate Window) and that window needs to be maximized. How can i do this? I was trying to set in the window features "height=screen.height,width=screen.width" but is not working. And the field "Width of external window" only accepts integers ....
Can anyone help me with this?

I added the following:
height=' + screen.availHeight + 'px,width=' + screen.availWidth + 'px,resizable=yes,top=0,left=0
the begin and end quotes are added by the framework.
I'm using the "avail" properties of javascript screen object, because it should allow the window to expand just until de windows toolbar. But this didn't did do what is supose to do, so the window is openning "maximized" full screen and the windows tool bar is covering the bottom of the window.
If you find a solution to this last detail, let me know.

I understand that the little green button up at the top of my windows isn't intended to replace the maximize button I love so much from Windows, it is rather a "Zoom" that is supposed to fit the window to the content within. Unfortunately I find this functionality less than satisfying if not totally useless. I feel that the lack of the ability to concentrate completely on one application at a time (Maximized with no visual noise on the edges to distract me) while retaining the ability to quickly switch windows (hide others just won't cut it) would be the near perfect work-flow.
I use primarily design applications that benefit from as much screen real estate as possible being dedicated to the application, where clicking off, and away from the app isn't just an inconvenience, but it destroys the seamless experience that the design process benefits from.
Using multiple applications - Maximized so as to concentrate on what I am doing - then using Exposé to quickly switch between them would be ideal. This is truely the one thing that is keeping me from switching all of my computers at home and at work to Macs.

If you are primarily concerned with applications and not windows, why don't you just use "Spaces"? It's available now, and allows you to assign an application to a particular space.
These days, the behaviour of the "zoom" button appears entirely up to the developer so suggestions might be better directed toward the ones who make the "design applications" you primarily use.
But back in good old days when Macs actually were designed to be easy to use (and not just pretty to look at), there seemed to have been a convention - not strictly adhered to in all quarters but a convention nonetheless - to use the "zoom" button to fit content, but "Option" + "zoom" to "maximize". If Apple would only go back to that idea, I suspect most people would find that satisfactory...

Mavericks Spotlight is Horrible -- I have to use my Windows 7 PC to find files that my MacAir with Mavericks cannot find -- what has happened to the famous Mac search feature? It is almost useless!

Why does Mavericks Spotlight not find files named, for example, Ono et al 2009, PNAS, 106(35), 14745-14750 - annotated when I use Ono as the search word. I can find the file using the search feature on my Windows 7 PC. Is there a way to change the perferences in Spotlight so it finds all file names if one searchers on a word in the file name? When I enter Ono in the Spotlight search box I get OnOff Switch slider, a list of files in which the Ono paper is referenced, and a Ono Yoko! But it does not find the 6 or so PDF files on the Computer with Ono and the primary author in the file name! Spotlight is almost useless.

Lost my iPad and when I attempt to use the "LOST" feature in icloud, the NEXT and CANCEL buttons are not responding. I have tried this on 3 different windows based computers. Any ideas???

I have a Lexmark Prevail Pro 705 printer connected to my network wirelessly. I can no longer scan from it using Image Capture. I can print to it. I can scan from it using a Windows machine. Most updated firmware. Driver v 11.0 Any ideas?

I have a Lexmark Prevail Pro 705. Latest (as of july 30, 2012) firmware. Mac driver v 11.0
I can no longer communicate wirelessly with the scan feature of the printer. I can print no problem using a wireless connection. Using a window's machine I can scan wirelessly from the printer. It seems that my iMac (OSX 10.8, 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 24inch early 2009) is not connecting to it. I can put a USB cord into the computer and scan.
Any ideas? This came up starting 2 weeks ago. I had hoped the operating system upgrade would solve it. It has not. I see nothing on the Lexmark boards about this. Since the printer works fine in both print an scan mode using a windows machine and can print fine from a Mac but not scan I don't have any ideas but I suspect it is the Mac.

Don't buy an iPhone if you use a Windows PC

iPhones are made to work with Mac computers. Your experience will be limited if you have a Windows PC. I want a phone that can stream longer home videos from the phone to the PC to send to family living in other states. The Apple program iPhoto will not work with Windows. I may be the only person on the planet who has read the 163-page iPhone 4 manual. Under the instructions for streaming video, it tells me that it cannot be done if I have a Windows computer. Yes, iTunes and Quick Time media players have Windows conversions, but so far iPhotos does not, and it is the only program used for sending longer home video from the phone to the computer.
The phone's memory allows me to email or text a 50 second video, but if I want a longer video, I have to stream it and I can’t because iPhoto is for Macs only. Word to the wise: If you buy an iPhone it is best to have an Apple computer or you will not be able to enjoy all the iPhone features. BTW, the Droid and Blackberry are Windows compatible. I hope my lesson learned the hard way will help others when making a decision about which phone to buy.

There are other options to make longer videos available for others to view. Telling people that you shouldn't buy an iPhone if you use a Windows PC is ridiculous....you do realize that despite Apple's popularity most of the computers owned are PC's and not MAC machines. Which would make it easy to assume that there are quite a few Windows PC users that are iPhone owners...and are more than happy with their device and it's abilities. If streaming is that important to you then for you, perhaps you either need a different device or you need to get a MAC. Otherwise, consider uplaoding the video to a platform that you can easily share all of your videos with anyone you wish. It's not rocket science and it doesn't make your videos any less shareable. FYI...perhaps this is possible on a droid device but prior to getting the iPhone I was a long time BB user. You COULD NOT stream or send long length videos to a computer or via text or any other format. You could sync it to the computer and upload it to a site that others could go view. You could upload the video from the BB to sites like FaceBook and YouTube, but the time it took was long depending on the video and more apt to fail....versus just syncing the video to your computer via the desktop manager and then uploading it to the site of your choice. I'm not an Apple worshipper...but your declaration based off of your inability to have access to a MAC program not because you have an iPhone, but because you chose to purchase a Windows PC is beyond ridiculous. And your assumption that you're the only person to have read the manual is laughable at best. Perhaps if you had done your research for the function you wanted to be able to do prior to purchasing your iPhone (the manual has been available for the iPhone online since the iPhone 4 was first made available to AT&T...several months before VZW got it, giving you plenty of time to research this info in that manner not to mention you had free access to forums such as the Apple Support forum that could have given you first hand info on whether the action you wanted to perform was possible for an iPhone owner that uses Windows PC. Plus, if you haven't had your phone for too long you have time to return it. If it has been too long you can easily sell it assuming that it is still is excellent condition and get very good money on it...money that can go towards getting the device you feel will better suit your needs. At any rate, good luck with whatever you choose. Hopefully you can find an alternative method to fit your needs...or you can get the device (or a MAC) to help you get what you are looking for.

I need to use a Windows program

First time Macbook owner and I have been using Microsft Windows Picture viewer to crop and adjust my photos for the last 8+ years. Its gonna take sometime to get use to iPhoto as it is more complex than what I am use to working with. Is there anyway to get this small program onto my Mac without doing Boot Camp and buying a Windows program? Is it possible to use a thumb drive? Any help would be great. I do like iPhoto but its gonna take me months to work at the same speed that I am able to crop and adjust with Windows. Perhaps another app or Mac program thats simple and easy to use. Thank you all for the help.

You have to have Windows installed to run a "PC" program.
iPhoto, believe it or not, is easy to use. Like anything else, hands on use is necessary. Although iPhoto has many features, one dies not need to understand or use them all.

Can I attach a Touchscreen monitor to my W530 laptop to use with Window 8?

I purchased a W530 laptop with WIndows 8. Can I attach an external touchscreen monitor to use the Windows 8 touchscreen feature? I was told by tech people, in office stores, that it wouldn't work becasue Windows 8 looks at your primary display and see it isn't a touchscreen and turns of that feature during bootup. Web Dynpro for ABAP iview window question ...

Hi, I have a web dynpro for abap iview that calls a web dypro for abap program in ECC that generates a PDF document.
It works perfectly, except when the iview is launched it opens a blank iview page and then opens a separate window in which the PDF is displayed. Does anyone know how to suppress the blank iview window?
Can I suppress it in the ABAP for Web Dynpro program in ECC or is there something on the portal in the web dynrpo for abap iview that I can do?

For someone who can't use the windows installer cleanup utility.

I have been an iTunes user for years and have usually updated to the newest version whenever prompted and have had very little trouble with the program despite always using PCs. However, I recently purchased an iPhone which is fun, but requires the newest iTunes.
I tried to install the new version and received a message which many people have, which said "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable."
I searched online and found the solution that said to use the Windows Cleanup Utility or whatever, however, my computer barred me from doing this for some reason. Even when I manually attempted to register with the Command Prompt window, I was unable to get the program to work. I tried to fix THIS part, but received another error message which directed me to format my computer, which I am unwilling to do at this time. I don't even want to lose my library but I'm kind of resigned to that at this time.
So what I'm asking is, is there any other way to get this sorted out without the utility package? Any way to direct my computer to where itunes.msi would be on my computer? Is there anyway to fix this, seeing as it seems to be a recurring problem in the installation of this version? Thank you.

Your sig says XPS. I assume that means XP. Your permissions must be corrupt in the registry, even though you are on an admin account. I got this same error when I upgraded my laptop to XP SP3. I had to run a tool from microsoft to fix it.
Scroll down to the advanced troubleshooting section on this page and run the subinacl stuff. I went and watched a movie while it ran - just be patient.

can any one tell me if it is possible for me to buy a publish certificate for Flash CS 5.5 for windows so that i can publish some games for the iPhone in retina display supported? also the other question is that, i have heard that apple will not allow ipa files published using a windows machine such as Flash cs 5.5 even if i buy the flash publish certificates. Using my windows xp professional tablet COA

I have a Toshiba Portege 3500 but I can't get my COA to work right now I am booting linux, is there any way I can just use my the coa with my xp pro cd from my other computer? I really don't want to order the media for $25 bucks and even then I have to buy a crappy usb floppy drive that i'll never use again.

If you install Windows XP Professional and never use it again on the other computer, you should be able to reuse its original product key. You will probably need to explain to Microsoft on the phone that you are transferring Windows from one computer to another in order to activate.
Two things you need to understand.
1. The product key on your laptop is useless for any retail version of Windows.
2. You will not be able to use the tablet features on that machine. In order to do so, you would need to install Windows XP Tablet Edition.
If you want the tablet features, then you should order the recovery discs. The version of Windows restored is preactivated. So no key is required. You can probably get them from these people.

With hardware acceleration enabled, and with plenty of tabs open, using the Windows 7 taskbar preview option will almost always crashed the nVidia display driver.

Latest Firefox 4 beta 6.
nVidia GT240 1GB DDR3 with driver version 258.96.

If I have plenty of tabs opened, in Firefox 4 beta 6 with hardware acceleration enabled, using the Windows 7 Taskbar preview feature (that will show all the tabs Firefox has loaded) will cause the Nvidia display driver to crash. When this happen, the GUI part of Firefox will be unusable and has to be killed via Task Manager.
This doesn't happen if hardware acceleration is disabled.

It is beta software and the older 4.0 b6 version may not work with all display drivers.

Is it true? Does the ATM driver really ignore "flat" kerning? Also, are there any significant updates for Windows 2000 and XP? (I think the ATM font driver built in Windows 2000 and XP is referred to as "5.0" -- true?) Adam

How can I convert an outlook pst file to mac mail without using a windows based computer

I recently bought the new iMac as my older Windows based computer crashed with a bad motherboard. I have been trying to find a way to convert Outlook 2007 pst files to Mac Mail without the need to use a Windows based computer since all I have now is a Mac. I have the copies of the pst files on my Mac, so I am looking for the most efficient way to convert them to the format that I can then open them in the Mac Mail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - thanks for the instructions but where do you get the option for Quicktime. If I do File - Export I only get the options for File name, place and size but no option that allows to select quicktime:-(
