Using LabVIEW 7.0 Evaluation version

Hi all
I Installed the LabVIEW Evaluation version in "Evaluation Mode".But I've just open and created a new Vi once.When I open it again,I get an error message that it is expire.I think it just expire after 30 day.Can you help me about this problem.

From the posts that I've read, it appears that it has to do with the system clock settings. However, I could not open the information in the Knowledge Base. You may want to contact NI on this one.

Don't know for sure, but with the Student editions this is certainly the
case so it is possible.
The student editions do not allow:
1.AxtiveX
2.External Code (DLL's, CINS)
3. and somethjing else that escapes me at the moment.
Try simple examples such as the MSBrowser and the Adobe PDF reader AX
controls - these always work if Ax is going to work at all.
Not a solution, sorry ;-)

LabView 6.0 Evaluation version load error (20)

Hi,
I wrote three vi files in LabView 6.0 evaluation version. Afte instaling the 6.1 full version the vi could not be load, giving a code 20 load error. All other vi files loaded normally.
I could not find any special instructions in these files.
Any ideas?

How to load dynamically String into a VI using LabVIEW Run-time Engine Version 7.0?

I would like to be able to traduce string into my application using import string method. I create an program with my VI to translate. When I use the import method, I get this error: the VI is locked. WHY ? because it works well in the edit mode but not using LabVIEW Run-time Engine Version 7.0 .

Hello loup,
If you call dynamically a VI in your LabVIEW application you must add this VI when you build the .exe file.
To add this VI, go to the Tab "Source Files" when you build application and click on "Add Dynamic VI..." then chose the VI you call.
It should solve your problem.
In the attached file you can found an example of LV program that translate front panel.
Try to build exe file and add "Languages.vi" as dynamic VI and .txt files as "Support files".
I test it, it works.

How can i measure only the valley voltages of a sine wave in labview 7 express evaluation version?

I am trying to convince my company to send me to purchase labview and send me to classes for labview.
I am trying to put together a small demo for them using the Labview 7 express evaluatin copy that I recieved.
What I am wondering is how can filter out everything besides the valley peaks on a sine wave.
What I am trying to accomplish, is create an example showing that Labview can sameple from a sine wave, read about 5 "valley" points of the wave, evaluate these based on a value that i can define, and signal pass or fail.

Hi,
I built a VI using LabVIEW 7.0 that detects the valleys in a sine wave. It uses the 'Peak detector' VI that I believe is available in the evaluation version.
(Functions palette >> All Functions >> Analyze >> Signal Processing >> Time Domain >> Peak Detector)
I have attached a VI as well as the screen shots its front panel and block diagram.

Can I make Standalone applications in labview 8.6 evaluation version??
Can this application work on other computers which do not have labview installed??

You cannot because in the evaluation copy there is no application builder.

Can I run an embedded program on me LEGO Mindstorm 2.0 using LABVIEW??

I am working now on my Lego mindstorm 2.0.. But i have a problem on my robot on how to work with this problem:
I made a security robot, it has ultrasonic sensor. the ultrasonic sensor is set up to 15 inches. Once the ultrasonic sensor detects a object it will alarm.
   .(I do the programming in the Lego Mindstorm software not with Labview.)   and now I want to do with my robot is when the sensor detects it will send a
SMS Message to my cellphone. My friend tells me that once the sensor detects it must connect the NXT BLUETOOTH to the BLUETOOTH of the
    cellphone. I believe that I can use labview with my problem.
   and the cellphone will text to my cellphone. Can i do it with Labview? Can i save a program to my NXT brick to do that? because the first cellphone
works as a transmitter and the second cellphone will recieve the Message. Can you please give me ideas and example to do this. I am really new to
Labview. I use labview 9.0 trial version. Thank you.

It sounds like you are short on time and desperate for solutions! Unfortunately, I'm not aware of anyone that has already completed this exact task and has example code available.
Please go back and re-read my previous post about different modes of communication. The NXT will not be able to accept SMS messages -- it can only accept Bluetooth messages sent through the Serial Port Profile. I'm pretty sure Java provides functionality that would allow you to do this.
Have you considered alternate programming languages for the NXT? You can find a short comparison of languages here: http://www.botmag.com/articles/10-31-07_NXT.shtml
Keep in mind that we can't offer much assistance with other languages, but if those languages are more familiar to you, they may help you get to a solution more quickly.

Turn evaluation version to licensend installation

Can we use the latest netweaver evaluation version to add a valid license for a developer edition ?
Background: We had difficulties to add service packs to an licenced installation up to SP 14. Hence, the current approach is to use the evaluation version, since that includes all currently available service packs.

Does Instrument I/O Assistant only work in the activated version of LabView 8.0 and not in evaluation version?

I'm using the LabVIEW 8.0 evaluation CD and every time I try using the Instrument I/O Assistant I get this error message "Measurement and Automation Explorer or the Instrument I/O Assistant is not installed correctly. Please install these from the LabVIEW Driver CD." So I tried installing both from the Device Driver CD and still it didn't work. I also tried uninstalling all NI softwares and components and reinstalled everything from the LabVIEW evaluation CD and Device Driver CD and still the same result.
I was wondering maybe the Instrument I/O Assistant will only work after I activate LabVIEW. Is this the reason why I can't use it or does Instrument I/O Assistant also work even if I'm only using the evaluation version? Please help!

Yes, Instrument I/O Assistant does work with the evaluation version of LabVIEW 8.0. However, you need to install Instrument I/O Assistant from a version of the National Instruments Device Driver CD that shipped with LabVIEW 8.0 (or later).
NOTE: The link provided for Instrument I/O Assistant 1.0.1 DOES NOT work with LabVIEW 8.0. It is only for LabVIEW 7.x.
You will need to obtain a Driver CD to get Instrument I/O Assistant to work with LabVIEW 8.0

How do I install LabVIEW 6.0 over the evaluation version? I can't un-install the evaluation version.

I get the message that another version of LabVIEW 6.0 is already installed and it won't let me install 6.0. How do I get rid of the evaluation version?

I don't have LabVIEW in my Add/Remove Programs. I may have at one time, but
can't remember. The removal must have been incomplete becasue LabVIEW 6.0
says "Another version of this produce is already installed." The same thing
happens if I try to reinstall the evaluation version.

OEM connectivity using evaluation version

Hi,
I downloaded OEM(Oracle Enterprise Manager) from oracle site and installed in windows machine and trying to connect to our Production server which has 40 CPU's.It is saying I need to have "select any dicitonary" access to use OEM.
I am not DBA.i dont have sys access but I impressed alot with OEM features mainly performance monitoring and resource usage monitoring.Can I connect to OEM as readonly ?
If yes.Is this evaluation(downloaded from oracle.com) will work for my production 40 CPU server ?
If yes I will try my best to get "select any dictionary" privelege.I am using 10g OEM and my Production instance is 9.2.4.0

I have OEM agent installed in my Production box.DBA are able to connect to that.
Can I conect to that agent through evaluation version OEM which downloaded from oracle website.Do I need to have license to connect 40 CPU system or evaluation version can also works for this

When I use it with my temperature logger most of the time I get an Error 66...but some times it does work and actually retrieves the document.
I can use the same address "http://172.22.21.68/XMLfeed.rb" (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome) in my browser and get a response every time. When accessing from my browser the server in the temperature logger does take around 6 seconds to respond, but it does respond every time.
Is the URL Get Document Vi exceeding a timeout? If so, where can I set it to wait longer?

It looks like the TCP Buffered Read has a 2.5 sec timeout, I believe that is where I had trouble as well. Try creating your own URL Get HTTP Doc vi in which you call URL Get Document in normal mode, with an appropriate number of characters to fetch (enough characters so that you capture all the important data in the XML file).

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer an evaluation version of LabVIEW for Linux. We do offer evaluation versions of LabVIEW for Windows, so if you have a Windows system available, you can evaluate LabVIEW there. With the exception of a few Windows-specific features, the Linux version of LabVIEW is identical in both layout and functionality.

I have been creating GUI for windows platform using Labview version 8.
Is it possible to create application.exe for linux platform...are there any settings that could be changed to make it work on linux platform ? or it will directly work when installer is installed in linux platform...

You must setup a machine with Linux and install LabVIEW for Linux on this machine.
If you haven't used any Windows technics you can copy the VIs from the Windows machine to the Linux machine, open LabVIEW on the Linux machine and create the application.
There is no setting on any platform of LabVIEW to generate applications and/or installers for other platforms.
